Hermione was widowed four years ago when Ron Weasley was caught in a freak explosion while working as an auror. As well as Hermione he left behind 10 year old Rose and 8 year old Hugo.
One year after his death Hermione and Severus became acquainted when she started ordering potions from him and the following year they were married. At the start of their relationship it was hard for Rose and Hugo but after some time they came to love him just as much as Hermione did.
Severus is still working as potions professor at hogwarts, Rose is fourteen and has just started her fourth year, Hugo is twelve and starting his second year. Rose was the first Weasley in history to be sorted into slytherin and little Hugo became the usual gryffindor. Hermione is a medical researcher for St Mungos.
Severus had just sat in his favourite chair with a book after a long day when his floo activated and his wife's head popped through.
'Severus may I come through?' She asked.
'Of course' He replied.
She stepped through, placed herself in his lap one leg on either side of his and began a long sensual kiss. Severus had his hands in her hair which made little moans escape her.
'What have I done to deserve this Mrs Snape?' He asked.
'I've missed you something terrible Severus! Anyway I don't need an excuse to snog my husband' she smirked.
Severus laughed, ' I've missed you to, can you stay the night?'
Hermione stood, took Severus' hand and led him towards the bedroom giving him that look.
'Of course I can my love but I will have to leave be 05.30 tomorrow morning.'
After a few rounds of lovemaking, Hermione lay her head on Severus' chest as he held her. He could almost hear the cogs turning in her brain.
'Sickle for your thoughts?' He asked.
'Sorry Severus it's Rosie, something is going on with her' She said.
'What do you mean?' He asked concerned.
'I don't know, something just isn't sitting right with me. She hasn't been sending many replies to my owls and when she does they are very short and blunt. When I asked to meet her during her hogsmeade visit she told me she wasn't going! Have you noticed anything?' She sighed and looked up at him.
'That doesn't sound like Rose. Now that you mention it she has been quite quiet in class lately. I have noticed she has been missing some mealtimes but I just assumed she had already been and gone. She used to come here sometimes for a game of chess or just to read but she's not come by since the term started 2 months ago.' He said
'Oh Severus somethings really not right, I've been so busy with work I've not made time to properly speak to her.' She said with tears in her eyes.
'It will be OK my love, I will keep an eye on her. Would you like me to speak with her?' He asked as he pushed a stray curl out of her face.
'Please Sev and if you need me to come you can call anytime and I'll drop whatever I'm doing and be here as soon as possible.'
'Mya I've been dealing with teenage girls for 30 years, I don't think I could come up with an issue I haven't had to deal with. We will be fine but of course I will keep you informed.' He said as he caressed her cheek.
'I love you Severus'
'And I you Hermione' He gave her another kiss and turned off the lights
