I…you can make me into a hero?" A young green hedgehog about six years old stared at the platypus in front of her.
"Of course!" He spreads his arms as his black bill spreads into a smile, "and not just that! You will be having a home! No more scurrying around these dark alleyways, no more being hungry… or cold," he kneels down his red eyes alit with excitement , "of course it will be a lot of hard work expected from you. I want to hear no complaints because all of it will be making you into the greatest hero the world has ever seen,"
The young girl looks at him with her green eyes, "where do we begin?"
8 years later-Robotropolis
A drone flies over a city under constant cover of smoke and smog. Flying by on a hover pad was a Swiper Bot. It treds into the elevator going down to level 51. Driving into a large hangar with Stealthbots it passes another robot like itself.
"All secured," it drones before driving away. Passing by a pipe, it never noticed a light emerging from the vent.
Blue flames flicker on the white fingerless gloves, of the deep ebony furred cat with silver streaks at the tip of her quills that was tied in a ponytail reaching her mid back. She was wearing a black tailcoat with rose trim at the bottom and golden cuffs on the end of the sleeves. Her black boots quietly walk along the metal of the pipe, white leggings tucked into the boots.
Peeking through the vent, her blue eyes widen before she slides to the side as a light flash through the vent. Her heart rapidly beating in her chest, she held still before a voice calls out to her, "Hey Mel, about time you got here. You ready?"
Melody sighs, pulling up the vent and glaring at the Swiper Bot, "You're lucky that other Swiper Bot didn't realize something was up with his comrade," she narrows her blue eyes as blue nanites emerged from the bot, forming into a brown lynx with the black metalic quills of a hedgehog. The ends of his ears were black and his face featured cheek tuft and a stripe along his nose. He was wearing a dark purple down vest with a yellow bolt of lightning stitched on the back, along with wearing black sneakers with yellow cuffs.
He crosses his robotic black and yellow with red markings arms, "Not like it knows what it's comrades are like," he smirks his blue eyes twinkling in mischief. "Now come on, we don't have that much time. Who knows how long the Resistance can keep Eggman's attention,"
Melody nods her head, jumping out of the pipe and following Ethan to one of the Stealth Bot. Watching him opening a panel, he slides in, "So you'll be able to find Alice?"
"Oh yeah," Ethan smiles, "I'm going to do some brain surgery by breaking the access code and using the Stealth Bot's computer to get into Eggbutt's main computer. I should be able to," he stops narrowing his blue eyes, "Hey Mel? Is it me or does that look like the pod that Uncle Shadow was in for 50 years,"
Melody leans over, looking at the glowing screen that showed a pod that was very familiar to the one Eggman had found their Uncle Shadow in all those years ago. Her eyes narrow, "Maybe this is where Eggman has been keeping Uncle Shadow all this time," she turns to Ethan, "Is it anywhere near wherever Eggman took Alice?"
The lynx nods his head, "Yeah…they have her in the command center of the base," the screen flickers, showing an albino echidna with pink eyes wearing a light blue cloak that Melody knew was hiding her purple wings.
"Alright then, we go check out that pod and see if it's Uncle Shadow…then we go save Alice," Ethan nods his head, unconnecting himself from the main frame and jumping out of the Stealth bot.
"Let's hurry up then." Ethan smiles, his ear twitching, "and before you say I need to show patience. Patients are for hospitals and we're in robocountry,"
Melody sighs before the two run off, just in time as two Sweeper Bots rolled in. Melody took out Ethan's handheld computer, easily following the map that Ethan downloaded. It didn't take them long to find the room but when they went inside they found not one but two pods...and unfortunately neither held Shadow.
Inside one was a small fennec fox with argentine blue fur with a patch of white on his torso in the shape of a water drop and a long white muzzle. He was fluffy having pointy cheek tuff along with a long thick tail and long bangs of fur on his head. He was wearing some sort of pack with yellow boots with black toes and soles.
In the other pod was a young female Hedgehog. Green with black stripes, the back of her six quills which arched up were colored ebony black with green sideburns that were slightly curled. She had freckles on her cream muzzle and to both Melody and Ethan's surprise she had a wolf-like fluffy tail and small horns that resemble the black arms on her head.
"Why does she look a lot like Uncle Sonic and Uncle Shadow?" Ethan whispers in confusion
They look at the young Hedgehog wearing a yellow and black striped sweater and black shorts and curiously a crown medallion around her neck. Ethan turns to Melody, and she sighs, "We can't leave them. They might not be Uncle, but they still need help.
Ethan nods his head, and presses his hands against the pods, his eyes glowing blue as sparks of lightning dance on the surface of the pods, before the glass case slowly begins to open, steam erupting from within.
Glowing green eyes snap open, a growl erupting from the pod holding the female Hedgehog before to their surprise a green blur erupted. The two duck down as it zips around, banging on the metal walls, trying to find a way to escape. Ethan turns to Melody, his blue eyes wide, "Ok I wasn't going to say anything but one: she looks like Uncle Sonic and Uncle Shadow and now she has their speed?!" he throws himself to the ground to avoid being hit. The green blur lands on the ground, spinning in place before throwing itself against the locked door.
They watched as the Spin Dash rips apart the metal door, before running down the hall. Ethan winces hearing the spreading and ripping apart of robots and whistles, "Ohhh…she's really mad," he then turns to the young Fennec who slowly rises from his pod, rubbing his head, "And it seems she left her friend," he frowns but yips when a wave of water coming from the pack the young Fennec was wearing almost hit him.
"Don't be mad at ma'am," he yawns sleepily, "It's the programming that's made her…" he yawns rubbing his eyes.
Melody walks over and carefully picks him up, "What do you mean programming?" she asked gently, placing him down before kneeling in front of her. His purple eyes looking at them in fear, his tail curling around him. Melody gives him a gentle smile, "Its ok… I promise nothing bad will happen,"
"I…Ma'am and I were created by Starline," Melody and Ethan's eyes widen at the name of Eggman's ex apprentice. Eight years ago he had disappeared after being fired when he allowed the Resistance to find his Metal Virus and destroyed it along with the notes before Eggman could use it, "He said…he told us that we were going to be Heroes, that we were going to replace Sonic and Tails," he then looks down, his bangs covering his face, "But it was lies…all lies...he just wanted to replace Eggman. W-we found out and Ma'am was so angry…she always wanted to be a Hero…she worked so hard during his experiments and tests and didn't complain..so when his plan to attack Eggman failed...when he order her to save him…Ma'am ignored him and went on attacking the jackal with the mask…" the kits shivers, wrapping his arms around himself, "The last time I saw Starline he got squashed by some rubble during their fight,"
"Well this explains why we haven't seen the toupee wearing, dramatic platypus in a while huh?" Ethan turns his head to Melody who stands up. All three then look up as alarms rang through the base, "I think your friend just told Eggman that she's awake," he watches as the young fennec grabs his ears and pulls them down, his purple eyes filled with concern.
"We need to go and help her," Melody states before she turns to the fennec, "What are you two's name?"
"I'm Kitsunami the Fennec," he smiles as Melody picks him up and places him on his back, "And Ma'am is Su- no Izumi Midoriya,"
"Man this is too easy," Green eyes narrowing in concentration as she leaps over the swat bots, rolling out of the way of their bullets. The lens of one focused on her as she lands on top of it, her shoe caving its head in before she jumps on top of another.
"Eight years…eight years of training..of pain…all for nothing!" she grits her teeth, swirling on her feet to turn to the hallway just in time to dodge a fist that was trying to smash into her. With a growl she curls up into another spin dash, smashing into more robots, into more walls until finally she smashes her way into the command center.
She skids to a halt, eyes narrow on Eggman who blinks at her, the jackal in the mask and who was floating with a reddish aura surrounding him, the octopus who gives a deadpan look at Eggman and strangely the albino echidna who was pinned to the machine.
"I told you should have killed her," the octopus grumbles, ignoring Eggman looks of disgust, "Starline may have been a fool but he is smart..smart enough to make a copy of Sonic and Shadow to give you trouble.
Izumi tunes out Eggman's rant at how pathetic Starline was (which something Izumi agree with) and how inferior he was to jump out of the way of a glowing red cube. Her heart beats madly in her chest staring at the angry red and yellow eye that was staring at her through the mask and she couldn't help but flinch, taking a step back.
"That's right child, there is no reason for you to resist," Izumi jumps up from another blast grabbing a pipe hanging from the ceiling, "You think you can become a Hero? No…if their savior is no more that means there is no one to save them," Izumi climbs up and growls, her tail bristling and lashing behind her madly. She saw the two that free her run into the room, and her eyes widened a bit when she saw Drippy hanging on the back of the Hedgecat.
"I can taste your fear child…all that anxiety and doubt," he fires another beam at her and Izumi leaps off, landing on the large green emerald that was in the center of the machine. She grips it tightly, almost falling off before pulling herself up. Never noticing that it was slightly glowing a bit, the glow getting stronger.
"It's delicious," his gaze turned to the muffled gagged sounds from the echidna, whose pink eyes were pleading at him. He falter a bit, but dodges out of the way from a burst of blue flames almost hit him. But the energy building up in his hand was shot free when he moved, hitting the machine square in the center.
Izumi looked down, her eyes widen when the emerald begins to glow a brilliant white, the machine sparking madly. "Infinite you fool! You broke the machine!" the white light began to shine brighter and brighter…before it exploded, spreading all over them.
Outside a red echidna wearing a cowboy, smashing his fist into a robot before he looks up. His purple eyes widened in horror and his hands curled into a fist, "Retreat!" he shouted to those who were not machines, but mobians like him, "Retreat! It's a Chaos Control!" Hearing those words, they started to run, to get out of the reach of the white light that was slowly spreading. Growling he begins to run, "You three better be safe!"
Groaning in pain, Izumi slowly sit up, the sounds of waves crashing onto a beach rang in her ears, "Damn...this is no time to be passing ou-" her body stills seeing that instead of being in a building in a middle of a robotic city she was now on a beach, filled with piles and piles of trash…a very familiar beach.
"There's...there's no way," Izumi whispers to herself as she quickly stands up and jumps up and lands on top of a pile of trash. Her green eyes widened seeing the sign that declared the beach as Takoba Municipal Beach Park, "How in the name of the Ancients did I end up in Musutafu in Yurashia?" she stares around the beach a bit, wondering when she notices a blue tail poking out of some rubble of trash, "Shit! Drippy!"
Jumping down she zips forward, throwing the trash off to see her best friend in the world opening his eyes slowly. Blinking at her, she smiles at him before laughing as he throws himself at her, wrapping his arms around her. Hugging him tightly, she frowns when she realizes she left him behind again and opens her mouth to apologize when he glares at her a bit. Sighing she ruffles his head a bit making him yip.
Hearing a groan, Izumi swirls and sees that the Lynx, Hedgecat and Echidna, who she now sees have bat wings, were here with them. Thinking quickly, she picks up Kit, "Ma'am?" he exclaims in confusion as she runs up the stairs, and through the streets before stopping a bit, trying to hide among the crowd, "Ma'am? Why are we running?
"We need to get far away from them, Drippy," Izumi says as she pushes her way through, her ears prick up as she bypasses frogs, birds, a buffalo and many more of different kind of mobians.
"But why?" he asked, tilting his head, "They were nice…"
Izumi winces, "I know Drippy…but the last time I met someone nice.." she closes her eyes as her screams as metal was shoved into her body…her horns growing…her claws shaking her head as she gulps she turns to Kitt, "The last time I met someone who seemed nice, I was in pain for the last eight years," Kitt looks up at her an nuzzles her and she smiles.
A loud roar echoed through the area and both her and Kitt looked up as a large Shark, and she really meant large, stood on top of a building. Izumi sighs, her ears pinning to her head, "Fuck I forgot how much villains like attacking Musutafu.
Biting at her lip, Izumi pushes her way through the crowd, cradling Kitt in her arms as she stands next to a mouse with stars on his head. She watched as a dark blue honey badger with wooden arm and legs leap over the shark, "Go away!"
"Whoa! A monster form...what's going on?"
"He stole a purse and backed him in a corner. So he went berserk,"
"I'm sorry, sir. A villain appeared out of nowhere and smashed into the train. I don't know when I can get to work,"
"AHHHHH GET HIM KAMUI WOODS!" Izumi sighs hearing the fangirls scream, " I guess somethings really don't change,"
"You're charged with unlawful use of Quirk during commuting hours, as well as battery and robbery," Kamui Woods declared, crouching down on the roof of train tunnel, "Stand down you lump of evil!"
"Is…is he serious Ma'am?" Kitt whispers making Izumi sweat drops.
"Unfortunately," Izumi whispers but her eyes narrow as she watches Kamui Woods arm morphs into many branches, lunging towards the shark to wrap around him…at least until a large foot smashed into the villain's face. Izumi along with the crowd stares dumbfounded as the yellow mink fully stand up, one hand wrapped around the ankle of the villain and her tail curled up. Izumi quickly covers Kitts' eyes with her hand.
"This villain really suits my formal debut! My name is Mount Lady. Pleasure to meet you and leave the rest to me," Izumi sighs before she turns away ignoring how reporters were zooming in to take a picture, all ignoring Kamui Woods who was slumped on the roof in defeat.
"Hey!" her eyes widen she turns to see the Lynx running after her. With a growl she puts Kitt on her back and with a lunge she begins running down the road. Many people scream in shock as a green blur ran by them, a light blue blur following behind. A dark gray bear wearing a light blue vest and a headband along with wrist guards matching the pattern of a caution sign turns to an officer, "Report an emergency! A green and blue blur are going wild in the city! Tell them to close all the roads and don't let any cars inside the highways!"
"Hold on Drippy!" Izumi said as she smiles running down the streets.
"Ok Ma'am…but uh…he's still following us!" turning her head a bit she sees that Kitt was right, the lynx was following them.
"Well, we just got to lose him now…don't we?" She smiles, turning her head forward but blinks when she sees a blockade made of police cars and sighs, "Looks like I was really blown back home," with a growl she leans forward, building up speed before she jumps, soaring above the blockade. "Too easy," she grins but then sighs when she heard a grunt and footsteps coming from behind, "And let me guess he's still behind us,"
"Yes Ma'am,"
Izumi grows, skidding a corner as she turns and runs down the highway, "So he wants to play catch with us? Sure, sounds like fun!"
"Kid! Wait, I just want to talk to you!" Izumi ignores him, but her green eyes turn to him as he ran by her side.
"Got to admit, kitty cat, you're pretty good," she smirks before sticking out her tongue, jumping up and landing on a roof of a car.
"Kid! You're being a bad example to Kitt over there," she raises an eyebrow at him, her tail lashing in anger, "That's dangerous! Are you going to take responsibility if he decided to copy you?"
Izumi blinks before turning to Kitt, "Drippy don't ever get on top of a moving car, ok?" Kitt blinks but nods his head and Izuku patted him on the head before leaping off the car and running down the street. By now the highway was abandoned beside the three of them and Izumi was getting bored. She sighs looking at Kitt, "I guess it was fun while it lasted…I need you to hold on really tight?" Kitt nods his head as she feels his arms wrapped tighter around her neck. Smiling, she turns around making the lynx give a startled gasp as he watches her run backwards, a smirk on her face before she sticks out her tongue at him.
"All of a sudden now…I know how dad feels," the lynx mutters before Izumi turns. He watches in shock and awe as she goes faster…and faster…and faster…before a loud boom is heard. Skidding to a halt he watches a green light zipping down the highway… "By the Ancients…that…that was a Sonic Boom! But...only Uncle Sonic and Uncle Shadow could do that…their Quirks and bodies allow…" his eyes widened in disbelief as he goes to his walkie talkie, "Hey Mel…do you remember exactly eight years ago when Starline stole those samples of Uncle Sonic's and Uncle Shadow's blood?"
"I remember…we were practically hunting them down… Alice hold still before I accidentally cut you!"
"Yeah…I think I know what he used them for. I found Izumi but she escaped me...by a fucking Sonic Boom,"
Silence rang from his walkie talkie before Alice voice rang through, anger in her voice, "Find them now! Who knows what those children went through thanks to that monster and they're going to get hurt,"
"I'm already planned on it Al…" Ethan said as he jumped off the bridge, skidding against the lines, "I just think it's going to be hard. By the looks of it I think Izumi knows this city pretty well..."
"Just find them, please Ethan," Melody said with a sigh, "I'm going to try to contact Commander Topaz…hopefully whatever is blocking us from contacting the Resistance won't be stopping us from contacting her,"
Izumi laughs, panting as she zips by a junior high and underneath a small bypass. Gently setting Kitt down and rubbing his back as he groans before he gives her a smile, "So what's the plan now Ma'am?"
Izumi sighs, frowning, "Just keep moving on I guess. Wherever the wind takes us," she smiles as she stands up her tail wagging, "Because what happen in our past is over, all we gotta do now is keep moving forward,"
Kitt smiles but then they both still when the sound of something liquid was glooping and moving. Izumi slowly turns around to see some sort of slime sneering at them. "Well what do we have here…a perfect skin suit,"
Izumi's eyes twitches, "You gotta be kidding me,"
