Chapter Nine: Party Time In Townsville And Capitol City
Night had fallen in the City of Townsville, the clock reading 8:00 pm. All was still quiet crime and monster wise. For now. The Powerpuff Girls' suburban home had a bit of a light show with lights of different colors flickering to the beat of the loud music from the inside. The girls, with Professor Utonium's assistance, had their home turned into an all-ages indoor nightclub, complete with an African-American Gen Z DJ playing music, a lit up dance floor, a stage, a non-alcoholic bar with real bartenders, the works.
Of course the Powerpuff Girls themselves were there along with Professor Utonium. Dee Dee, who came over to chat with the girls several days ago, was invited and present. Also present was a female creature of an unknown species who also was a very close friend of the Powerpuff Girls and Dee Dee. She always boasted that she was cute and even made her own song about it. She was Dot Warner, the Warner Sister of brothers Yakko and Wakko.
There was also yet another female that the girls very reluctantly invited, but both Professor Utonium and the Mayor, who also was present at the party, encouraged the girls to invite. An old foe slowly but surely turning friend, Princess Morbucks, was there, and she was all smiles and partying along with everyone else without a hitch.
There were many other little girls and boys from around Townsville there, mainly some classmates like Robin Snyder, Mitch Mitchelson (another reluctant invitee), Mike Believe, Harry Pitt (the only person other than Professor Utonium that was lucky enough to have been kissed by all three Powerpuff Girls), Elmer Sglue, among many others.
Rounding out the adult invitees there were Ms. Bellum, Ms. Keane, Mr. Green the Substitute Teacher, and Rainbow the Clown. And finally, as weird as it sounded, the Amoeba Boys made the cut, and they also partied with the crowd.
Ms. Keane was on the stage singing along to Lady Gaga's "Applause" as it was a song that she loved. The partygoers clapped along with the beat of the song, very appropriate for the name of the song, even giving her said applause after the song finished.
"Yeah, Ms. Keane!" Blossom shouted.
"You go girl!" Buttercup added.
"Encore!" Robin added.
When that song ended, the next song up was Psy's "Gentleman." The little girls in the house screamed as the song came on with Bossman, the leader of the Amoeba Boys, smiling from ear to ear and dancing in place.
"There's your song, boss!" Slim, a member of the Amoeba Boys, said.
"Yes, yes, a million times yes! Now THAT is my song!" Bossman said.
"Well, get your butt on the dance floor and dance with us since you love it so much!" Bubbles encouraged to Bossman as she pulled him along as the beginning of the song played, Bossman reluctantly going along.
"Yeah, boss, show everyone them dance moves!" Junior, the last of the Amoeba Boys, added.
The Powerpuff Girls, Dee Dee, Dot, Princess, and Robin did the many dance moves Psy did in the music video with excellent choreography, though Bossman was lagging significantly behind while Slim and Junior danced in place. Mike Believe, normally a shy and reserved person, couldn't help but get into the act as well as he knew how to do the dance at the end of the music video very well. Mr. Green got on stage and sung along to the song word for word even though it was a mix of Korean and English all the while the DJ hyped him up. Professor Utonium, Rainbow the Clown, and the Mayor didn't join in on the dancing, simply dancing in place like the Amoeba Boys.
The scene shifted from one city to another, or more appropriately, from one party to another. The scene was at a very popular block in Capitol City, making it a block party. Like the party in Townsville, it had a lit up dance floor, a massive light show, and a stage. But unlike the party in Townsville, it didn't have a bar, but instead just a table where partygoers could just grab a beverage from a drink machine, all drinks being non-alcoholic since it too was an all-ages party. Also unlike the party in Townsville, it was hosted outdoors, but the clear sky and the perfect temperature made this party go without an interruption from Mother Nature.
Even though it was an all-ages party, it mainly hosted much of the older generation, though some of them brought their children there. Faces such as General Brainley, Moby Von Ahab, and OJ Skweez, Polly Purebred's boss, were there. Polly herself was there, of course, along with the man of the hour, Underdog himself. Rounding out the special attendees were two very close friends of Underdog who moved to another city but were in town for business reasons, but they had to come and unwind at the party. They were the penguin Tennessee Tuxedo and the walrus Chumley.
The DJ there was a Caucasian Baby Boomer and well toned, wearing a beatnik type of outfit and having the cool, relaxing beatnik voice to boot.
The party was a bit more relaxed and calm in contrast to the uptempo party in Townsville, as evidenced by Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" playing. The dancing was more of a few head bobs, toe tapping, and finger snaps on the two and four beats, and Underdog himself was singing along to the song.
"Oh, Underdog! Your voice is so soothing!" Polly complimented as Underdog nodded and continued singing along, Polly having the same dreamy and mesmerized look on her face from Underdog's presence.
Other older women came over to listen to Underdog sing the popular song, much of them also blushing while also clapping along. When the song ended, the crowd gave Underdog a standing ovation.
"All right! Everyone give it up for the main man UD and that soothing voice." The DJ said.
The DJ played the next song, which was Kool And The Gang's "Get Down On It". The song was a bit more danceable, so the many partygoers got on the dance floor. Tennessee Tuxedo and Chumley got on the stage to sing along to the song. The lyric "Get your back up off the wall!" was shouted out from pretty much all of the partygoers, and Underdog and a few other older men put on a few dance moves to further excite the crowd as the music played.
The scene shifted back to the Powerpuff household, where Billie Eilish's "Therefore I Am" played, and seeing as Billie Eilish's audience was mainly younger females such as herself, The Powerpuff Girls, Dee Dee, Dot, Princess, and Robin all put on their best act of Billie Eilish and the content of the song, singing along with it throughout. The Powerpuff Girls themselves made Harry Pitt blush hard with the lyric "Get my pretty name outta your mouth." Even the older males and females were bobbing their heads to the song as the younger girls were strutting their stuff.
"Yeah! That's my jam!" Dot shouted out as the song ended.
"What's next?!" Dee Dee shouted out excitedly.
"Something that's gonna make you keep on dancin', that's what!" The DJ responded.
And on cue, No Doubt's "Hella Good" played, the track's title often mistaken as "Keep On Dancin'" since it was more prominently featured in the chorus. The younger girls of course screamed, the Amoeba Boys also getting on the dance floor to do as the song said. Mitch and Elmer, however, facepalmed and had a bit of annoyed looks on their faces.
"Awww, Jeez, not this song again!" Mitch said as he sarcastically bobbed his head from side to side.
"When will they stop playing this?" Elmer added, also a bit annoyed.
Ms. Bellum even got into the act as she took to the stage and sing along to the song while also showing off some dance moves of her own. Princess also put on a small show in the middle of the dance floor as she did a very impressive breakdance, which got out an applause from the crowd, including the DJ.
"Yeah, yeah, Mo Bucks with dem moves, yall!" The DJ shouted.
The next song to play was Madonna's "Music." When the opening of the song came on, the entire crowd got on the dance floor, with Blossom on the stage singing along to the song word for word. Some sung along with Blossom while others simply danced. Bubbles, Buttercup, Dee Dee, Dot, Princess, and Robin even put on a 2-on-2-on-2 dance competition throughout the song, with Bubbles and Buttercup on one team, Dee Dee and Dot on another team, and Princess and Robin on the last team. There was no clear winner as the entire crowd was in awe at the dance moves the six young girls did.
"Yeah, yeah! Music do make the people come together, all day err day!" The DJ shouted.
Back to the block party at Capitol City, Underdog grabbed the microphone and grinned a bit in front of Polly Purebred, singing the beginning lyrics of The Contours' "Do You Love Me." Polly also grinned from ear to ear as the actual song came on, Underdog and Polly becoming the center of attention as they both danced together. Much of everyone around them danced or simply clapped and tapped their feet. Underdog and Polly did solo dance moves as well as dances where they worked in tandem.
"My main man UD and Sweeeeeeeet Polly Purebred showin' all of CC how it's done, you all." The DJ said. "Hope you two aren't tired, because I've got another one for ya. Let's rock this joint!"
Next song on the playlist was Royal Crown Revue's "Hey Pachuco!" Like the song before it, Underdog and Polly stole the show with this song with several solo and duet dance moves, one dance involved Underdog throwing Polly in the air and showing off a bit, turning around and walking away a few steps as if he was going to let her hit the ground, but then he swiftly went back and caught her. The DJ even mimicked the horns present in the song.
"Smokin'!" Underdog said just as he caught Polly.
"Wow, I thought he wasn't gonna catch her!" OJ Skweez said, sighing in relief. "That wouldn't look good in the paper."
The DJ next played Lois Lane's "Chinese Checkers." The song had enough of a vibe to it that older people loved since it directly sampled Booker T. and the M.G.'s song of the same name, and the dancing was far more uptempo. An older African-American couple came on stage to sing along to the song with the DJ getting involved in the chorus. An old African-American heavyset man, who said he couldn't stop dancing to the song when he was younger, grabbed an old instrument of his and played the sine wave sound towards the end of the song with perfect pitch and timing.
Switching gears back to the party at Townsville, Saweetie and Doja Cat's "Best Friend" song came on, which was viewed by many as a chick anthem. The girls inside screamed, and Dee Dee and Dot both made a beeline to the stage as the DJ passed them mics.
"Spit that stuff, girls!" Princess shouted out.
Dee Dee and Dot sung along to the song word for word. Because of Professor Utonium's request to the DJ before the party, the edited version of the song played, and both Dee Dee and Dot had to be careful not to let the swear words slip out in the all-ages party, and they both knew where they were. Dee Dee and Dot did Saweetie and Doja Cat's verses, respectively, with excellent coordination as many either danced or bobbed their heads to the music. Even the DJ was being a de facto hype man for the little show. Dee Dee and Dot got loud cheers and a standing ovation after the show.
"Yeah, yeah, Dee Dee and Dottie got them bars, yall, give it up!" The DJ said.
The Powerpuff Girls and Dee Dee all gasped and laughed nervously as Dot walked up to the DJ and grabbed his shirt and pulled him towards her.
"Uh oh, he screwed up." Bubbles said with a bit of concern on her face.
"Call me Dottie again and you fucking die." Dot warned the DJ at a level just above a whisper where only Dot and the DJ could hear it, and it didn't get caught on a hot mic.
"Okay, okay, my bad!" The DJ said with Dot simply nodding and walking away.
The next song that came on was Lil' Wayne and Birdman's "Stuntin' Like My Daddy". With the song, an animated music video came on, and like the song before it, the edited version played. In the music video, the seven little girls (Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup, Dee Dee, Dot, Princess, and Robin) could be seen riding Yamaha motorcycles as alluded to in the song. Professor Utonium, Dee Dee's father, Sir William, Daddy Morbucks, and Robin's father all make prominent appearances in the video. The video featured the girls lip synching to the song with the DJ in the music video doing some excellent scratching.
Moving back to the party at Capitol City, Whitney Houston's "I'm Your Baby Tonight" played. Polly Purebred called this song her all-time favorite song, and naturally she got on the stage and pulled Underdog along. Much of the night was Underdog singing to Polly, but the roles were reversed that time around with Polly singing the song to Underdog word for word with excellent precision and pitch with the crowd all singing and dancing along. Underdog couldn't help but blush hard but warmly smiled as he too danced along. The crowd there gave a standing ovation at the end of the song with Polly giving Underdog a small peck on his lips.
"All riiiiiiiiiight!" CC's one and only Sweeeeeeeet Polly Purebred doing the late, great Whitney Houston more than proud. Hope you all had your phones out and taped it because it was smoooooooth!" The DJ said.
The next song that played was a massive favorite of the older generation in Capitol City. It was Gap Band's "You Dropped A Bomb On Me." For this song, an animated music video played, Underdog, Tennessee Tuxedo, and Chumley representing the Gap Band as they lip synched the song. Fittingly to the song, Underdog, Tennessee Tuxedo, and Chumley could be seen in a classic car speeding through the streets of Capitol City, all with aviator sunglasses on just cruising as bombs were falling on the city. Underdog, Tennessee Tuxedo, and Chumley could also be seen riding bombs as they fell onto the city, but of course nothing was happening to the real city. Polly and a few other females could also be seen singing the female bits of it. The crowd at the party of course sung along to the song, especially the well-known chorus of the song, the DJ playing a bit of air guitar in the video.
"Ooooh yeah, folks, now we're gonna send this party off in style, because no grown folks party is complete without this guy." The DJ at Capitol City said.
The scene very quickly shifted back to the Townsville party with the DJ there grabbing the mic.
"Hope yall's dancin' shoes ain't worn out, because this party is endin' in style!" The DJ at Townsville said.
At both parties, amazingly at the exact same time, Michael Jackson's "Beat It" played. It wasn't the studio version, but rather the live version at Bucharest, Romania. And with the song, an animated music video played that was shared between both parties, making several switches between both parties seamlessly. The music video mimicked the real music video for the song with participants from both parties seen doing the many dance moves shown off in the real music video. Both parties' participants also showed off many of Michael Jackson's signature moves, including the Moonwalk. The DJs at both parties could be seen in the video getting into the act. It showed the effect Michael Jackson had on multiple generations, from Baby Boomers to Gen Z, and both parties ended with this hit song fading out in the night.
At the conclusion of both parties, both DJs signed off and wished everyone a good rest of the night. The scene shifted to Capitol City where Underdog and Polly both were sitting and conversing with Tennessee Tuxedo and Chumley, catching up with their two good friends and drinking some soda.
"It was so, so awesome to see you both here tonight, thought we were never going to see you again!" Polly said to the penguin and the walrus.
"Yeah, it's so awesome to be back here in Capitol City, we sure miss the hell out of this place. Ain't changed a bit." Chumley replied.
"Yeah, that fast paced shit in Los Santos is for the fucking birds!" Tennessee Tuxedo added. "Not to mention everyone's so full of themselves out there. Can't wait till our fucking contracts are up and we raise up enough money to move our asses back here."
"For two good friends my home is yours. Just say the word and I'll open my doors." Underdog offered.
"Wish we could do that, Underdog, we'd leave right fucking now." Chumley said. "We've gotta be in LS for at least another good five fucking years before we can make our move. Signed a damn contract and all. They made an offer we couldn't refuse and at the time Tux and I were fucked up."
"We understand, guys. Please drop by before you hop back on the plane and we can send you off." Polly offered.
"Done deal, you know it." Tennessee Tuxedo confirmed. "Say, I heard Tracey got caught with meth here. Wonder how she's doing now?"
"Yeah, I reported that story." Polly confirmed. "She's been released and is set to testify against the real perpetrators. She'll have full immunity."
"The De Santas are so fucked up. They fight, kiss and make up, fight, kiss and make up, all that bullshit over and over. I'm so fucking tired of hearing about them and their damn reality show." Tennessee Tuxedo said.
"I second that notion." Chumley added. "Everywhere you turn in LS, there's at least a crowd of people talking about that fucked up family."
"Most reality shows aren't real at all. They script much of that shit, none of it's raw." Underdog said.
"Well, as Tracey's father always says, you forget a thousand things every day. Make sure this is one of 'em." Polly mentioned.
"He couldn't be more right." Tennessee Tuxedo agreed. "When we get the fuck out of LS, we'll forget that that place even fucking existed."
As Polly, Underdog, Tennessee Tuxedo, and Chumley continued catching up with one another, the scene shifted back to Townsville where Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup, Dee Dee, Dot, Princess, and Robin could be seen in the Powerpuff Girls' bedroom all chatting with one another, also doing a bit of catching up.
"Fucking awesome fucking party, wasn't it, ladies?" Princess said. "Thank you soooooo fucking much for fucking inviting me, girls!"
"Not a problem, Princess! This was an awesome bonding moment for all of us!" Bubbles responded.
"Just wish it was like this from the start, Princess! But you are making good progress!" Buttercup added.
"Oh, and Princess, no need to keep apologizing for tattling on me. That shit was way in the past and I've moved on." Robin then added as she hugged Princess.
"Thank you, Robin. Let's fucking kick it a-fucking-gain some fucking time!" Princess offered with Robin nodding.
"Anyway, who's down for some fucking UNO?!" Dee Dee polled.
"Me!" The remaining six girls replied as they raised their hands.
They could only get just a few games in, not bothering to tally up any points this time around because time was running short. And Professor Utonium even signaled that time was up and it was time for Dee Dee, Dot, Princess, and Robin to go home for the night. But the seven girls of course had to do their final send off. So the seven girls put their right hands in the middle on a pile, nodding to one another.
"Girl Power on three, ready?" Blossom got out, but before she could count, Bubbles stopped her.
"Hey, we just played UNO, so let's do the countdown in Spanish!" Bubbles suggested.
"Yeah, fucking go for it!" Dot said in approval.
"All right, Girl Power on tres, ready?" Blossom got out. "Uno, dos, tres…."
"GIRL POWER!" All seven girls shouted out as they raised their right hands in unison, all fistbumping each other.
"Catch ya later, girls!" Dee Dee got out before she, Dot, and Robin all left, leaving Princess and the Powerpuff Girls alone momentarily.
"Oh, and girls, another fucking thing." Princess said. "I fucking bailed monkeyfuck the fuck out for the fucking last fucking time. So fucking savor the fucking ass kicking you'll fucking give to him next, be-fucking-cause it will fucking be the fucking last fucking one."
"Oh, monkeyfuck Mojo will fucking find a fucking way fucking out of fucking jail." Buttercup said as she mimicked Princess's F-Bomb speaking pattern.
"Now don't you go fucking up, Princess, we're starting to enjoy having you around!" Blossom added.
"Please don't make us kick your ass again!" Bubbles further added.
"Of fucking course fucking not, I'm fucking done! Fucking loving the fucking right fucking side of the mother fucking law!" Princess said.
"Like I tell you all the time, Princess, it should be punishment enough to have known Puff and lost it…." Blossom got out.
"Than to have never Puffed at all." Princess said to finish Blossom's sentence. "Yeah, I've fucking drilled that shit right fucking into my fucking head, girl. Peace fucking out!" She then said with a peace sign as she left.
As Princess walked out of the house, she got in an evil grin on her face and rubbed her palms, getting in a small evil laugh.
"If fucking only they fucking knew I'm fucking just fucking biding my fucking time un-fucking-til the fucking day where I and only fucking I will fucking destroy them!" Princess got out with another evil laugh as she hopped in her limo and went back home.
