Episode 5A: Songaline Rises

It was a normal night in the city, and all the heroes had turned in for the night. A white girl with purple eyes, a black suit with a pink music note pattern, and a country accent was running on the streets. Behind her, she had two minions: an humanoid piano named Pete and an humanoid drum named Ben with cartoony black eyes on each of them.

"Hurry up, you ignorant instruments! We've got havoc to wreak in this new city!" hissed the girl.

"Sorry, Songaline. You're just so good at running," Ben replied.

"Whatever," Songaline snarled. "Come on!"

Songaline and her minions ran to the park, where Jayden Houston, a popular singer, was going to have his next big performance in a few days. His stage was there.

"Isn't this Jayden Houston's stage? I've heard of him," Pete said. "He makes good music."

"No, he doesn't!" Songaline retorted, jumping on the stage. "His music stinks. Which is why...I'm gonna take over his stage and be the center of attention! All I have to do is make a good enough song that will capture everyone's heart. Y'all are gonna help me, right?"

"Of course, Songaline! We're your servants, after all!" Ben replied kindly as he and Pete joined Songaline on Jayden Houston's stage.

Songaline pulled out a black flute with pink highlights and started to play it. Pete and Ben, being instruments, played music using themselves, and they sounded just like a real piano and drum. They all sounded pretty good.

The three main PJ Kids were headed to the park, where Jayden Houston's stage was. They weren't the only ones going there, though; there were other kids were going there, too.

"Jayden Houston is the best...he's always doing performances for us every now and then," Connor said.

"I know! He never cancels at all! I love his shows so much!" Amaya replied.

"Uhm...guys?" Greg said, getting his friends' attention.

"What the?" Connor yelped. Jayden Houston's stage didn't have his banner on it like it should have had. Instead, the banner had a picture of Songaline on it. Everyone in the park spoke to one another in confusion.

"Who's that?" Amaya asked. "That doesn't look like Jayden at all."

"Is that a girl in a black and pink suit? Looks kinda like a villain," Greg pointed out.

"Good point, Greg. Let's see if we can find whoever that is tonight," Connor replied. "PJ Masks, we're on our way..."

"Into the night, to save the day!" the PJ Kids announced.

That night, the Power Heroes prepared for missions as usual.

"PJ Robot, give me eyes on the park," Catboy ordered PJ Robot. The robot obeyed and pulled up a live feed of the park. Sure enough, Songaline was in the park, making music again with Ben and Pete. Again, they sounded pretty good.

"By my cat's whiskers," Catboy yelped. "There she is...and it looks like she has minions. Tonight's mission: Stop this new girl from taking over Jayden Houston's concert."

"Who is 'Jayden Houston'?" An Yu asked in confusion.

"He's a popular singer. His music is fire," Catboy replied. An Yu smiled at Catboy's slang.

"Is that...a humanoid drum and piano? I need to see this for myself. I'm coming along on this mission," Gekko said.

"Seems like this new girl loves music and has a flute. I will accept this mission and take on this girl. She is not even that good," An Yu sneered, getting up in her chair and turning her staff into its flute form.

"I don't know, An Yu...that's kinda an understatement," Gekko pointed out honestly, getting up as well.

An Yu rolled her eyes and held her flute to her chest.

"Let us go, Gekko. We have no time to waste," she hissed.

"Alright, then," Catboy approved.

"PJ Masks, all shout hooray..." the Power Heroes began.

"Gekko and An Yu, go save the day!" An Yu and Gekko declared as they ran towards the vehicle hatch and dropped into the Gekko Mobile.

Gekko and An Yu were in the Gekko Mobile, about to go take down the new musical menace.

"An Yu, are you sure you can take on this new girl?" Gekko questioned. "It seems like this new girl has skills when it comes to using a flute..."

"...and I do not?" An Yu snapped indignantly.

"N-No, you do! I'm just saying...maybe don't be too overconfident," Gekko replied slowly. "This girl seems like a challenge."

"I am the perfect amount of confident," An Yu hissed. "This new girl is no challenge."

Unknowingly, An Yu pretty much proved that she was overconfident, and this made Gekko sigh as the Gekko Mobile reached the park. Songaline, Pete, and Ben noticed the heroes as they hopped out of their vehicle for action.

"Look, guys! Seems like I have some fans," Songaline said. "Would y'all like me to play some more music for you guys?"

"No, thanks. We are not your fans," An Yu snapped as she approached Songaline. "I'm An Yu, and this is Gekko. We have come to ask you to leave at once."

"Leave?" Songaline echoed. "Don't make me laugh."

"We aren't joking, musical kid," Gekko hissed.

"Songaline can do what she wants," Pete stated.

"Songaline?" An Yu echoed.

"Yes," Songaline replied. "That's my name. These are my musical minions that I made, and their names are Pete the Piano and Ben the Drum. You have a problem with that, reptile girl?"

"I'm not a reptile girl," An Yu snapped. "Well...I am, but I prefer to be known as a dragon girl."

"I don't care," Songaline deadpanned. "If y'all ain't fans, than y'all can buzz off."

Songaline's country accent and the "buzz off" she said made An Yu highly irritated, but she tried her best to maintain her calm and chill manner.

"We are not leaving you to take over Jayden Houston's show. This isn't your stage," Gekko said.

"It is now. Can't you see up there, lizard kid?" Songaline questioned rhetorically, motioning Gekko towards the banner above her.

"We'll be taking that down once we've finished with you," Gekko replied, posing with An Yu for action.

"Oh yeah? Well...I challenge you to a musical battle!" Songaline snapped, playing a small tune on her flute and walking off the stage.

"I accept! You know, I have a flute, too," An Yu said, turning her staff into its flute form and playing a classic Mystery Mountain tune. "I am pretty good. I am even better than you."

"Hah! So far, I'm not at all impressed," Songaline sneered as she played her flute on top of An Yu's.

"An Yu, don't let your overconfidence cloud your judgement," Gekko warned An Yu, whispering in her ear next to her.

"Stop worrying, my lizard friend," An Yu replied, continuing to play her flute. "I know what I'm doing."

That's what I'm afraid of, Gekko thought as he watched An Yu and Songaline eye each other, playing their flutes as they did a staring contest. Their extremely different melodies that they played sounded terrible clashing together, and Gekko had to cover his ears. Songaline motioned for her musical minions to back her up, and they started playing music on themselves. An Yu paused playing her flute immediately.

"That is not fair! I thought this was going to be a 1 versus 1 battle!" An Yu hissed.

"I never said this was a 1 versus 1 battle," Songaline hissed back with a smirk, playing her flute again. Everyone playing music against An Yu were so loud, it made her flute sound as quiet as a mouse. An Yu was mad. She was truly mad. She'd had enough. Gekko looked worried as he stepped back from the battle.

"Gekko, I need help!" An Yu called.

"I can't! I didn't bring an instrument," Gekko replied.

"I guess I'll have to take matters into my own hands..." An Yu said angrily, mostly to herself. She turned her flute into its staff form, and she raised it up in the air.

"Wait...what the heck?" Songaline yelped as she and her minions stopped playing music. An Yu was trying to summon things from Mystery Mountain, and before Songaline could understand what was going on, An Yu sent two bamboo sticks her way.

"AHHH! Where did those sticks come from!?" Songaline screamed as she ran for her life. It was no use, because the bamboo eventually tripped her up. An Yu sneered.

"AIN'T NO ONE ABOUT TO TRIP UP A STAR LIKE ME! NO ONE!" Songaline hissed, getting up and charging at An Yu, taking her staff as the dragon girl was caught off guard.

"Hey! Give that back!" An Yu yelled as Gekko walked up to her.

"No!" Songaline yelled back. "You should know better than to disrespect a star like me! I'ma just confiscate this flute here and keep it as a trophy for defeating those that were against me!"

Songaline turned An Yu's staff into its flute form and put it in her pocket area.

"Now...get lost!" Songaline hissed. Instead of snapping at her, An Yu just...ran off. Gekko ran after her, but not before giving Songaline a distasteful look. Songaline just rolled her eyes, and she proceeded to play music with her minions again.

An Yu sat on the sidewalk outside the park area. She was upset, but she wasn't angry. Not anymore. She'd realized pretty quick that she had made a huge mistake...she got a little too overconfident, and now she has met her match. Gekko sat down next to her.

"Are you okay, An Yu?" he asked.

"No," An Yu replied. "Songaline has taken my staff, and now I have no mountain power. I am sorry, Gekko. You were right. I underestimated Songaline...she is actually on my level."

"It's okay, buddy," Gekko said. "We just need a plan to get your flute back."

An Yu, feeling a bit better about the situation, took a deep breath as Gekko was thinking up a plan to stop Songaline.

"I've thought up a plan," Gekko said eventually. "...but I don't think you'll like it."

Songaline was playing music on the stage with Ben and Pete. An Yu walked up to her, looking as if she was a fan of her music.

"Back again? I thought you had given up," Songaline questioned, rolling her purple eyes.

"I have," An Yu answered. "I am actually a fan; I just didn't want to admit it before because I was a little envious."

"I don't blame you," Songaline said smugly. "I am pretty great. You'll never reach my level, though; I'm one of a kind."

She will not have many fans with that smug attitude, An Yu thought as her acting seemed to be working.

"Super Gekko surprise!" Gekko yelled, appearing from behind Songaline. The green boy had been in Super Gekko Camouflage.

"AHHH!" Songaline yelped, falling off the stage and on An Yu, who then took her staff and pushed the musical villain off her.

"Songaline!" Pete and Ben yelled, running off the stage to help their leader.

"An Yu, do your thing," Gekko told An Yu. She nodded, using her staff to make Songaline, Ben, and Pete float.

"Hey, not cool!" Pete snapped.

"Bye, Songaline!" An Yu sneered, magically sending Songaline and her minions off to a different part of the city.

"Ouch," Ben complained.

"THIS AIN'T OVER! Y'ALL CAN COUNT ON IT!" An Yu and Gekko heard Songaline scream.

"Great work, An Yu," Gekko complimented, using his muscles to take down Songaline's banner.

"Thanks, my friend. Although, things would have been a lot easier if I had not been overconfident in my abilities," An Yu replied.

"PJ Masks Power Heroes, shout hooray..." Gekko began, and An Yu played the little jingle that played whenever the Power Heroes did their chant with her flute.

"'Cause in the night, we saved the day!" Gekko and An Yu finished, making poses in the air.
