Glargg wasn't surprised to see Chuck in his office again, but he was getting tired of him never learning his lesson and every time he tried a different punishment, Chuck always caused some sort of disaster.
"Chuck, I get the academy is hot, but vandalizing the walls with "A + C" and hearts isn't going to make us buy an air conditioner." Glargg glared.
"Oh…" Chuck sighed from relief. "Point taken… I won't do it agai…" Chuck then stared off into space dreamily.
"Why are you being more mindless than usual?" Glargg raised an eyebrow. Chuck shook his head.
"Oh, nothing! Just… Daydreaming… Because everything is so boring." Chuck excused.
"Well, Glargg hopes you won't get too bored writing an essay explaining what you did wrong." Glargg gave Chuck a paper. Chuck scribbled for an hour and gave the paper back to Glargg. "Huh? Did you just draw on this?"
"I know my art sucks! Get off my case!'" Chuck waved his arms.
"Why did you draw a picture of Cadet Adele?" Glargg asked.
"I… I just…" Chuck started to blush. Glargg then chuckled softly, surprising the chicken.
"Looks like you have a crush." Glargg smirked.
"Don't tell anybody!" Chuck whined. "Take my cell cone instead!"
"Glargg's lips are sealed." Glargg smiled. "But… Do you want to talk about it?"
"I never talk about it with anyone, not even my siblings." Chuck groaned. "I can tell they don't think I have a chance with her. Why would I? I've never been able to say a full sentence to her. She doesn't even know my name!"
Glargg tapped his chin and then snapped his fingers.
"Well, Glargg always noticed you don't care about your grades. So… Glargg is going to make you study with the nerds." Glargg commanded.
"What?! I'm not a nerd!" Chuck scoffed.
"Exactly, so it will do you some good." Glargg laughed.
Chuck went into the classroom where he saw Finley, PAL 9000 and Adele.
"Chuck, only the top students are allowed in here!" Finley gasped.
"Welp, guess that means I'm a genius." Chuck bragged.
"I get it, your grades are so bad, you need us as study buddies." Finley pointed at Chuck.
"You caught me." Chuck rolled his eyes.
"Well, you have a long way to go." Finley told him. "A long LONG way!"
Finley and PAL both laughed at him, causing him to feel embarrassed.
"Hey, Buck. What's that?" Adele asked.
"What's what?" Chuck then noticed he had a bouquet of flowers in his hand. "Huh? Where did these come from?"
"You just teleported them in your hand, cool trick." Adele winked.
"Uh…" Chuck stuttered.
"Give them to her." He heard a whisper.
"Who said that?" Chuck looked around.
"Ignore Glargg and do as you're told!" Glargg whispered louder while hiding behind the door.
"Isn't that an oxygen moron?" Chuck shrugged.
"It's oxymor- nevermind!" Glargg facepalmed. "Give her the flowers!"
"Um… You can have them since you love my trick." Chuck chuckled.
"No thanks." Adele smiled. "They are pretty but-"
"At least sniff them!" Chuck insisted.
"No… I can smell them just fine…" Adele held her nose and floated away.
"I get it!" Chuck scowled. "Glargg is punishing me by making sure I'm never with Adele… That's just cold! Even for him!"
Later that day, Chuck had a migrain from all of his studying.
"Hey Chuck." Glargg went over to him.
"Um… Hey?" Chuck asked.
"Make sure your hair looks good while you still have it." Glargg suggested.
"Is that a threat?" Chuck pouted and crossed his arms.
"It isn't." Glargg scowled.
"Then why did you embarrass me earlier?!" Chuck huffed.
"Glargg thought she'd like them." Glargg answered.
"Why would you care?" Chuck narrowed his eyes. "I fail enough on my own."
"Give Glargg another chance!" Glargg pleaded.
"Are you okay?" Chuck raised an eyebrow. "Have you been swapped with a body snatcher?!"
"No! Now shut up and listen!" Glargg barked. Chuck sighed from relief. "You're going to give this tart to Adele."
"Fine." Chuck grumbled then approached Adele's flower decorated pod. He knocked on the door, and ran off, leaving the tart behind.
"Sorry about the flowers. Here's a snack." Adele shrugged, then ate it. Chuck and Glargg watched from separate hiding places and smiled. Adele began coughing, then she scratched her body all over, then her fur turned blue and it was covered in pink spots, then finally, she fainted. Glargg and Chuck's faces both turned pale.
After Adele was taken to the infirmary, she took some medicine she got from the nurse, she felt a lot better, but Chuck's siblings were mad at him.
"Chuck." Starley growled as she and Finley both looked angry.
"What?" Chuck asked.
"I thought I told you Adele is allergic to Bargaberries." Finley lectured.
"It wasn't my idea… It wasn't." Chuck started to tear up.
"Who's idea was it then?" Starley asked.
"I can't tell you!" Chuck sobbed and ran to the evac pod.
"Chuck, come out of there." He heard Glargg's voice.
"I don't care…" Chuck sniffled. "You can't punish me any worse than you did…"
"It wasn't meant to be a punishment!" Glargg grumbled, but then he looked sad. "Glargg… Glargg is sorry."
"Why?" Chuck asked.
"Glargg didn't want you to fail. Glargg gave you those things because… they were meant for Judith but she will never love Glargg again." Glargg whimpered. "Glargg didn't want you to go through that."
"Well. I did." Chuck hopped out. "But… I didn't know you actually cared about that. Thanks… It's the thought that counts I guess. But Adele isn't like Judith, she's smart, kind and pretty."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Glargg snapped.
"Nothing." Chuck shuddered. "I just mean… Not everyone likes the same flowers and snacks."
"Oh, right." Glargg sighed. "Come on, Glargg will explain everything."
"Nah, my reputation has been worse before, not even you deserve to go through that." Chuck rejected nervously.
"That's nice but Glargg needs to fess up for once." Glargg retorted.
"No, I should take the blame." Chuck argued.
"Glargg will take the blame whether you like it or not!" Glargg shouted.
"Okay." Chuck agreed then skipped away, leaving Glargg at a loss for words.
