Hey everyone! So, I bet you're wondering why I'm starting a new story instead of continuing my last one, right? Well, the truth is, I've hit a bit of a writer's block with those fics. But hey, I'm determined to break through it eventually. In the meantime, I've got this new idea brewing, and I couldn't resist diving in. Let me know what you think! Enjoy!

DISCLAIMER: I don't own the characters of Twilight. Only the OC and the plot revision is my idea. The plot is different than canon and plenty of criticism to the movie will be involved. If you're fond of the canon then don't read. Also, I wrote this with the help of ChatGPT AI for the grammar corrections because I don't have a betareader.

I blinked, the dim light poking through these weird curtains and waking me up. Taking a look around, I noted the rustic vibes and muted colors of this new place. "Well, well, well, isn't this a surprise," I muttered to myself, a sprinkle of sarcasm lacing my words. Another day, another chapter in this book of unwanted surprises. -sigh- Just another spin in my ongoing dance with misery. Here I am, still lost in this maze of unfamiliar faces, people I only recognize because my brain decided to hit me with a memory dump one morning when I woke up in this reality. And what a reality it is - the Twilight universe. -Ugh- Why here? Why Twilight? Couldn't I wake up in a safer TV show or movie universe? You know, one without vampires, werewolves, or any other dangerous creatures lurking about? Why, oh why? I mean, it's been years, but seriously, why Twilight? -Ugh-

As I was in the middle of fussing with my mid-length straight black hair, which I'd dyed with a splash of purple at the ends, I caught sight of something small and fuzzy in the corner of my eye. It was Zoe-Zo, my trusty pet rabbit, twitching his nose inquisitively from his spot on the bed, his soft black and white fur gleaming in the subdued light. He's a Dutch rabbit, and let me tell you, quite the handsome fella. Seemed like the change in scenery didn't faze him one bit, his whiskers buzzing with curiosity. "Looks like we're still stuck in this crazy, dangerous situation, aren't we?" I quipped to him, a small grin forming on my lips. "But hey, at least we've got each other, buddy." Hmm... I really need to find him a mate though. I'm itching for some baby bunnies. Ahhh... the thought of it is just too cute. Oh, hold on a sec, I've got some pictures!

I grabbed my phone, which is strangely still the model I had in 2024, but hey, I'm not complaining. It's my trusty Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, and I can't imagine life without it. It's like a lifeline, especially with all the fanfics I've already downloaded onto it. So weird though, everything on it is just the same as it was in 2024 - the apps, the songs, even games that haven't been invented yet are here and playable. And get this, I somehow have WiFi too, which is totally unheard of for the year 2002. I can even connect to the internet, but here's the kicker - I can't chat, message, or connect with anyone, not even in games. Bit of a bummer, but at least I can still get updates for my apps, songs, and games, and even download new ones. Thank goodness for small miracles, right?

Checking my phone, I scrolled through the messages from Uncle Jaxx, his random check-ins serving as a connection to the world I left behind. "Same old, same old," I muttered, firing off a quick reply before tossing the device aside. It's odd how he never seems to pick up on anything unusual, but then again, he's always wrapped up in military stuff. I even called him when I first got here, but he just brushed it off, saying everything's normal. Which is seriously weird. Uncle Jackson "Jaxx" Steele is a US Marine officer, a Colonel, no less. You'd think he'd notice something off, but nope. It's like his memories got blended with the Uncle Dave from this reality. Weird, right?

Alright, let me sketch out the family tree for you in this reality. On my paternal side, we have the Chen-Lee's - Grandpa Jianjun and Grandma Meiying, the power couple in the business world in China, real magnates if you ask me. They paved the way for my dad, Junwei, to step into the business world with his relentless drive for success. On my mother's side, we've got the Steele's - Grandpa Jason, a US Marine Captain, and Grandma Olivia, who held down the fort at home while Grandpa was deployed. Unfortunately, they all passed away before I even entered the scene, some of old age in my dad's case, and Grandma Ollie died from the heartache of losing Grandpa who died in duty in my mom's case, leaving behind only memories captured in fading photographs. Now, onto the next generation: Uncle Jaxx, the military man of the family, my mom's big bro and the only blood-related uncle I've got since my dad's an only child. He's following in the footsteps of Grandpa Jason and served in the military like every Steele before him. As for my parents, my lucky mom, Justine, managed to win my dad's heart and tie the knot with him. And guess what? Almost everyone in the family has a name starting with 'J'. Mom jokes that it was planned that way, but who knows? Maybe it's just a happy coincidence turned into a quirky family tradition.

Let's chat about my pseudo-parents, Edmund Graves and his wife, Evelyn, or as I fondly call them, Uncle Ed and Aunt Evy. They stepped in to raise me during Uncle Jaxx's deployments. I've always seen them as family, even though we're not blood-related. Uncle Ed was tight with my Grandpa Jason, serving as his lieutenant in the Marines until he retired to help Grandma Olivia after Grandpa's passing. Uncle Ed and Aunt Evy practically insisted on being our family's head butler and head maid a few years back, saying they wanted to take care of my family. Who could argue with that logic, right? That's what Uncle Jaxx told me anyway when I asked him a few years ago. They never had children of their own, both in my old reality and this new one, so they practically view us as family, just as we view them. Having them with me in this new reality just calms and comforts me. They've been there for me since before I can remember, and I'm grateful for their presence in my life. Though I still don't understand why they're the head butler and head maid in this reality when they could have been my guardians like they were in my old reality. Maybe it's because we're rich this time? Ugh, so weird!

"Oh, and here's a little tidbit about me: in my old reality, my dad's family wasn't exactly rolling in dough and business success, just a tad above average in wealth, while my mom's family stuck to their military roots. I'm also a mix of Chinese and American, flaunting features from both sides of the family. You'll catch me rocking my dad's straight, black hair, flowing down to my bra-line, with bangs that covered my forehead, and with a rebellious touch of purple, like the future styles of hair. I like to dye my hair with colors depending on the mood I'm in and change it once I'm bored with the color. Then there's my most notable feature, which I like very much - my mother's striking green eyes. Yep, I'm a walking blend of cultures and personalities, and wouldn't trade it for the world."

So, let me clue you in on the family business. In my old reality, my dad's business wasn't that much of a big deal, but here? Oh boy, it's a whole different story. My old man? He's not your average businessman - he's the big shot, the top dog at Digital Nexus, CEO extraordinaire. The torch got passed down to him from my grandpa Jianjun, the original brains behind the operation. And let me tell you, Digital Nexus ain't just a local gig anymore. Nope, it's gone global ever since my dad took over, expanding from China to the US, and then to the rest of the world after I came into the picture. That's actually how my parents crossed paths - dad's business ventures brought him together with mom.

In my old reality, Dad met Mom during a vacation mishap in China. He was attending a business seminar while she was on a solo vacation for some self-discovery, as she likes to call it. They were accidentally put together in a single room by the hotel staff, with no other rooms available, and from there, they compromised their way into marriage. In this reality, they still had that mishap, but Dad was on a business trip in New York while Mom was visiting a friend. Instead of a hotel room, they found themselves sharing a taxi during heavy rain. With no other taxis available, they compromised, and the rest is history. Both stories are romantic in my opinion.

Anyway, our company, Digital Nexus, is all about pushing the envelope - from gaming to phones, TVs to computers, you name it, we're at the forefront. And we're not stopping there. We've even dipped our toes into the entertainment realm, cooking up movies and TV shows. I've even started tinkering with ideas for that sector, like bringing concepts such as isekai and reincarnation to the table much earlier than expected.

Well, you get the drift - I've been throwing ideas around like confetti, whether it's for better gadgets, games, or other tech. I even brainstormed the whole WiFi and next-level gaming systems concept. Though, let's be real, these are ideas straight out of the future, and if anyone caught wind of it, I'd be in deep trouble. But here's the kicker: before I pitched those ideas, I did my due diligence. Checked in with my assistant about some key folks - the original creators or inventors - just to cover all bases. But guess what? They're nowhere to be found in this dimension. So, who's claiming those genius ideas as their own? You guessed it - yours truly, once again. No lawsuits coming my way in this dimension, that's for sure.

Now, I'm raking in the cash. Yep, we're talking serious dough here. Filthy rich, you could say. Maybe even reaching billions in the future with all the brainstorming I've been doing for the company. And if you haven't noticed yet, I'm already running the show. So, when my classmates catch a glimpse of my state-of-the-art phone, they automatically assume it's a perk of being in the family biz. And you know what? They're pretty much spot on.

So, you might be wondering why I'm the CEO now. Well, let me tell you, it was a pretty disappointing revelation for me. Waking up like three years ago and realizing I'm back to my younger self, it hit me hard. At first, I didn't even notice the year. All I could think about was finding my parents. I held onto this tiny glimmer of hope that maybe in this new reality, they would still be around. But nope, dreams crushed yet again. It took me a while to piece it together, but eventually, I realized I had been sent to another reality a year after losing my parents in that same awful car crash caused by some drunk jerk. Last time, I was helpless, couldn't do a thing to him. But here, in this reality where I have the money and power to do so, you bet I made sure to sue him for everything he had as payback.

Family life hasn't changed much, except now I'm rolling in dough, living in this massive mansion with a crew of loyal staff, including my trusty butler, Uncle Ed, and my head maid, Aunt Evy, always at my beck and call. The place is colossal, with acres of land and jaw-dropping views all around. It's fancy and all, but let me tell you, it doesn't hold a candle to the cozy warmth of our old home brimming with memories of Mom and Dad. Sure, I still have Uncle Jaxx, Uncle Ed, Aunt Evy, and my pet rabbit, Zoe-zo, but nothing fills the void left by my parents. Knowing that if I had only arrived in this reality a year earlier, I might have been able to save them... -sigh- Oh, how I miss them.

Anyway, I'm just grateful that whoever or whatever is responsible for bringing me here also brought my family along. Years ago, I noticed that we owned an acre of land dedicated specifically to the Steele-Chen-Lee family cemetery, including the graves of both my parents and grandparents. It makes me happy because it means I can easily visit them anytime. Although, it's kind of weird that even the deceased were transferred here in this reality. Happy, but definitely a bit weirded out. -sigh-

Now, I needed to focus on the practicalities of survival in this strange new world – the Twilight universe, where vampires, shifters, and all sorts of other dangerous creatures roamed. I've managed to survive as a human so far, but now I've got to brace myself for the supernatural side of things. And let me tell you, I'm hoping to avoid that at all costs. Like, seriously, ever.

"Ah, well ain't that a kicker?" I pondered, peering at my phone before casting a glance at Zoe-Zo, who returned my gaze with a curious rabbit-like stare. "Looks like I'll have to prepare myself for their grand comeback in August, as per the timeline on the Twilightsaga fandom wiki. Time to mentally gear up for their return, which essentially means avoiding them like the plague." No way am I getting caught up in their soap opera. I'm all about keeping things pleasantly weird, minus any drama or danger, thank you very much.

But as much as I prefer to blend into the background, my reputation precedes me. Having an internationally renowned company and a high-ranking marine officer for an uncle means I'll never fly under the radar. However, being known as the introverted, quiet-unless-spoken-to, keep-to-myself kind of girl might work in my favor. Hopefully, those Cullens with their irritating abilities will also leave me be, especially Edward with his pesky mind-reading thing and Alice, the pixie of a seer. Not Jasper, though. I don't really have any problem with him. He's quiet, not nosy, and also keeps to himself, which is a plus for me. Hmm... I have to say, I really am hoping they'll resemble their book character appearances, even if it's only Alice's actual pixie-like height. I'm really disappointed with that part, although I like the actress who plays her, but the height is not what I had in mind for Alice. Well, I'm just excited for -cough- Yup, vampires. Nope, not getting excited for. I have to stay away from them. -sigh-

However, there's something about all of this... something that just feels off, but I can't quite put my finger on it. "Curiouser and curiouser," I mutter, channeling my inner Alice in Wonderland. With one last look around the room, not wanting for Aunt Evy to nag at me again for not eating breakfast, I grabbed an apple from the table, courtesy of Uncle Ed's fresh fruit selection. Then, I decide to seek solace in the quiet sanctuary of my personal library, surrounded by my favorite books and tunes from back in the day, Zoe-Zo still in my arms. "Here's to another day in vamp town," I quip, ready for whatever twists and turns come my way.

Tomorrow's just another day in this bizarre reality, filled with unknown dangers lurking around every corner. It's a world I'd rather observe from the sidelines than dive into headfirst. But hey, that's just how the cookie crumbles, right? Time to brace myself for whatever curveballs come my way. Who knows what surprises await in this topsy-turvy world? Guess I'll find out soon enough.
