CHAPTER 7: Knowledge

IN CORTEX'S STUDY...

"So, you're absolutely sure about this, N. Tropy?" N. Brio asked N. Tropy, who was polishing his armor.

"Well, I'm not the master of time for nothing, you know," N. Tropy said. "But yes, Magnifico's words check out."

"So," Cortex said, staring at the information of Rosas. "It seems this, 'kingdom of wishes' Magnifico mentioned is true. Apparently, the kingdom was once ruled by him, until the time when a teen girl named Asha made a wish on a star, and brought the star into the kingdom."

"You know," N. Gin said, "I think someone should make a movie based on that." This earned him strange looks from everyone else. "What?" he asked.

"Anyway," Cortex said, getting back on topic, "when he was questioned, he angrily turned to forbidden magic to capture the star for himself - then, he brainwashed a young man called Simon into being his knight."

"Wow." N. Brio said. "I can sense powerful magic radiating from him."

"Yes." Uka Uka said. "Power that will soon be mine!"

"Then," Cortex said, reading on, "he ended up overpowered by Asha, her friends, the citizens of Rosas, and even his own wife, Queen Amaya, and trapped in a mirror for eternity, and locked away in the dungeon, whereas Queen Amaya now rules as the sole ruler of Rosas, where everyone can now pursue wishes the way they want."

"One such wish," N. Tropy noticed, "belonged to Asha's 100-year old grandfather, Sabino."

"How can someone like him live to be 100?" Pinstripe asked, puzzled. "You'd think time would catch up to him, or something."

"Weird." N. Tropy said. "Also, Asha's pet goat, can actually speak now." he added.

"A talking goat?!" said Pinstripe. "Man, this dimension gets weirder and weirder, ya know what I'm sayin'?"

"Weird or not," Cortex continued, "That's the spot where we're going to strike. We need to get Uka Uka to use that forbidden magic Magnifico used, and then, we will be nigh unstoppable! Not even that pathetic Crash Bandicoot will stop us now!"

"Exactly!" said Nina Cortex, Cortex's niece. "In fact, we might even take over that Rosas kingdom for ourselves!"

"Even better!" Cortex said. "Nina, that's why you're my favourite niece."

"Uh, I'm your only niece, Uncle." Nina said.

"Exactly." Cortex said. "Now, to the lab! We've got our patient to check on."
