Blackness.

That was all the pilots could see. It felt like forever since they had seen anything else. The last thing they remember was the ground caving from underneath them, then falling for miles and miles below the earth. Then a flash of light, and then everything went dark for them.

Suddenly, a small beeping could be heard before orange text flashed in front of them.

Pilot 2 vitals...mild injury but stable.

Initiating emergency startup sequence.

Just then, a bright flash of light illuminated the cockpit of Gypsy Danger, blinding Adrian inside. The pilot squinted his eyes as they adjusted to the light. He was slowly gaining consciousness as well as the impact of their fall had knocked them out for who knew how long. Once his eyes had adjusted, Adrian could see an expanse of both trees and rocks, as if they were in some gigantic, well-lit cave of sorts. Before he could take note of anything else, he heard groaning next to him, and turned to see Mei, still unconscious, but he could tell she was slowly coming out of it thanks to their now weak connection through the Drift.

"Mei?" he hesitantly asked, "You ok?"

Another groan was the only response. Quickly, Adiran fumbled for the emergency release controls, pulling them and causing hissing sound as both pilots were detached from both the Drift as well as their cockpit harnesses. Adrian suddenly tumbled back, hitting the wall behind with a grunt and just barely regaining his senses quick enough to catch Mei's limp body before she landed on the hard metal.

"I gotcha" Adrian said, hefting Mei over his shoulders in a fireman carry, "Now how do we get out of here?"

It took several minutes of searching, but he finally found a hatch at the back of Gypsy's head, using the ladder to climb up and out of the Jaeger. Mei's limp body made the climb somewhat difficult, but he was able to manage and finally climbed out of the hatch, setting Mei down into the grass before climbing out himself and looking around. Gypsy Danger had crashed at the side of a small cliff, its head resting next to the top as it lay back in an almost sitting position. Other than that, the terrain itself was completely unknown to him. The jungle landscape spread as far as the eye could see...and as high. Much to Adrian's amazement, a whole other jungle seemed to exist upside down in the sky as well, with bird-like creatures being seen flying on both sides of this world.

Adrian sat down next to Mei's body as he tried to process what he was seeing. The only words he could get out were, "What the hell?"

Suddenly, a familiar cry pierced the air, catching the pilot's attention, and he whipped to see a bright ball of light flying a great distance away. Mothra; it had to be. But what was she doing here? In an attempt to answer these questions, Adrian slowly began to recall what had happened. They were battling the kaiju, but then the ground gave out underneath them and they all fell into...somewhere. Adrian looked up and, sure enough, there was a massive hole miles above him. How did they even survive? Did Mothra shield them somehow, or was something else at work here? Did anyone else make it?

Too many questions raced through his mind, and as the distant cries of other creatures became heard, he realized he may not be able to get the answers to all of them just yet. He pulled Mei's body close, propping her up on a nearby rock and hoping she would wake up soon just as a boom echoed above him, and he looked to see a massive ball of fire, maybe some sort of meteor, hurl down from the hole they had fallen through, except this new object landed some distance away. All Adrian could do was hope that the meteor provided enough distraction to any other creatures nearby for him to get a plan together. There was no telling what awaited in this strange new world.

...

Mothra let out another cry as she flew above the wide swath of rocks and rubble, her god-rays shining on them from her wings. It had only been at least twenty minutes since the Titans made impact in the Hollow Earth, but Mothra had been unable to keep track of them in the chaos, and now she was desperate to find as many as she could. Suddenly, a call answered, and multiple stones were moved away, revealing Kong, Okeneba, and Rodan. The three were battered and bruised but none showed signs of lasting damage. A few minutes later, Gamera and Anguirus appeared as well, having seen Mothra's god-rays and moving in her direction in an attempt to regroup with other Titans. Relieved to see familiar faces, Mothra swooped down, landing close to Kong as the other Titans approached. As they gathered, Kong took a look around, and though he was relieved to be back home, the concern for the other Titans and the human still lingered in his mind. Though one question did remain, where was Godzilla? No matter how hard the Titans looked, the King was nowhere to be seen.

Had he already woken up and moved somewhere? Was he still unconscious, or worse? None of the Titans could say for sure. All they could do now was try and regroup with as many other Titans as possible and attempt to finish the battle against the kaiju, and Mothra could sense that many of the larger kaiju had survived the fall. As the Titans began to set off, Gamera hesitated, turning to see a fiery orb fall from the same opening they had. The Guardian narrowed his eyes; something about that meteor felt...wrong. He could sense an unusual energy about it that he had never sensed before in all his ages of life on Earth. However, he couldn't be bothered with it right now, and retuned his attention to the task at hand, joining the search for the other Titans.

What the Titans didn't realize is that one of their kind was closer than expected, just farther underground. The crystals in the cavern below remain mostly unharmed from the impact, and each one oozed with the radioactive energy from the Hollow Earth. And laying amongst these crystals was Godzilla himself. He had regained consciousness a long time ago, and he heard Mothra and the others above. He however elected to ignore it; he had other plans at that moment. He remembered fully what had happened, and the very thought of not only the kaiju, but Ghidorah, his greatest nemesis, having returned remained fresh in the Alpha's mind, and it filled him with only the most heated rage. He could practically taste the radiation the crystals around him provided, and it gave him an idea.

He would stay here for now and absorb this power, grow, evolve, and become more powerful. He needed to heal anyways, might as well get back up stronger too. When he was ready, the King would rise back up, and he would then burn, no, incinerate every last alien kaiju on his planet, along with their disgusting human worshippers. Once they were finished, he would then face Ghidorah, and beat him down so hard, that nothing could possibly bring that false king back from the dead again. All he needed to do now was absorb, and wait...

...

Some distance away from the titans, a red beam cut through a mountain of rubble as Gigan, Mechagodzilla, and Apex, finally managed to blast their way out of the rocks that buried them after the fall. While each of them was damaged, those wounds were quickly closing as their self-repair systems kicked in, closing cuts and repairing cybernetics. Once free, the trio looked at their surroundings, with only Mechagodzilla and Gigan's memory banks recognizing it as the Hollow Earth.

Suddenly, the cliffs near them exploded with a roar, and Mecha-King Ghidorah seemed to almost stumble out, his cybernetics damaged to a far greater extent than the others. Mechagodizlla and Gigan prepared themselves to attack, but Apex suddenly put an arm in front to stop them, pointing to Ghidorah's robotic middle head. It seemed to glitch and thrash furiously with the other two heads seeming to get it under control. The three could detect a faint signal from the center head that seemed almost Drift in nature. This time it was Apex who was not confused, narrowing his eyes as he recognized the signal, it was one he bonded with for a long time. The question was...what was Boy doing that was causing Ghidorah to act up like this? If the dragon eventually noticed them and decided to attack, he would need to make sure that the kid wasn't harmed or killed in the battle that followed, and he knew his two companions wouldn't feel the same way. Things had just become more tense.

...

The impact from the meteor was extreme, sending both fire and lighting in all directions and causing multiple creatures to scatter. However, it didn't end there, as the ground underneath was hollow, causing the meteor to smash right through and fall further into a cave below. The cave itself was dark, save for the light coming from the hole above as well as a bright light emanating from the meteor itself, which was revealed to be seemingly made of clusters of crystals as the dust settled, electricity crackling between the crystals.

After a few moments of silence, a cold wind blew in as a pair of icy blue eye appeared in the darkness, gazing intently at whatever had fallen into its lair. Slowly, the monster creeped forward, revealing a stark white reptilian face lined with blue spikes, as if this monster was sculpted from a glacier. Closely, she sniffed at the meteor, sharply recoiling afterwards. Something was inside those crystals. This wasn't a simple meteor, this was a cocoon. But a cocoon for what?

A low growl echoed from the cocoon, and the ice monster tensed up, expecting a fight. Whatever was inside there, she felt like it was about to appear very, very soon...

Here we are in the Hollow Earth, with a few new monsters on the horizon. I apologize for the long time between chapters. College has been rough, and aside from that, I got a brief moment of discouragement after someone decided to basically insult me through reviews on multiple stories of mine for basically no reason, this story included. It was the combo of an inspiring review from an unknown guest on this story (thank you bro) as well as the release of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire that hyped me enough to come back. I'll do my best to keep chapters coming and thank you all for your patience.

Also, just for fun, for those who saw the Godzilla vs Kong rap battle form ERB, who do you think won?

Let me know what you think so far!
