Both Trevor and Olivia were relieved when the date for Olivia's first scan finally arrived, although she'd had no symptoms to suggest that their unborn baby was anything but healthy, both were still worried about the stress Olivia had been under during the shooting and the damage it could have caused to the child growing inside her.

At 11 Olivia met Trevor in the hospital entrance after dropping the kids off in the creche, and, despite both expecting to be waiting a while, past experiences in the hospital making them assume they'd be running late, both she and Trevor were surprised when Olivia's name was called just five minutes after they'd sat down in the waiting room.

Olivia made herself comfortable on the bed, lifting up her top and rolling down the waistband of her scrubs before reaching for Trevor's hand, squeezing it gently as the cold gel was applied to her stomach, Olivia surprised at her own tears when the screen was turned towards her and they got a first glimpse of their unborn child, the unmistakable shadow of a heartbeat fluttering strongly in the middle of the screen, "Trevor" she whispered, tearing her gaze from the image of their child to look up at her partner, finding his eyes full of tears too."I know" Trevor whispered, a happy smile spreading over his face as he lifted their joined hands to kiss Olivia's knuckles, "I know."

They walked out after the scan was over, both saying nothing as they sat, side by side, hand in hand on a bench, both smiling happily, one picture of their healthy little baby tucked in Trevor's briefcase, another in the pocket of Olivia's coat for her to stick in her locker along with the other pictures of her family when she returned to the precient. She'd already spoken to the Chief, told him she wouldn't be making a big announcement about her pregnancy, but, once her scan had confirmed that everything was okay, she wouldn't deny that she was pregnant if anyone asked."Okay?" Olivia finally broke the silence as she gently squeezed Trevor's hand.

Trevorlooked up and smiled, "of course, are you?"Olivia nodded and gently stroked her bump through her clothes, "yeah, it all seems real now doesn't it? I mean, I know we already knew I was pregnant but seeing him or her…"I know what you mean" Trevor smiled, "actually seeing our little one, it's, well it's more than just two lines on a plastic stick.".Olivia nodded, "yeah, I still don't feel like it's fully sunk in yet though".Trevor laughed softly, "I'm sure it'll have sunk in by the time you can't see your feet any more." Trevor shook his head as he chuckled, "with the rate this one's growing I bet that won't be long, I was half expecting you to be right" she admitted.

They'd spent several hours since Olivia's pregnancy was confirmed, playfully arguing about how many babies she was carrying, Trevor convinced that the speed at which she developed a small bump combined with the increased chance of multiples from the IVF could only mean one thing, they were having twins. If she was honest, Olivia was quite relieved to have been told that she was definitely only expecting one baby, and Trevor didn't mind too much either. Trevor laughed, "could you imagine us having another two Katie on our hands?"

Olivia laughed too and shook her head, "I'm not sure I want to imagine it" she chuckled, "don't get me wrong, I love her exactly how she is, but I'm not sure I could handle two more of her.""I think I'd have had to hire a Nanny" Trevor smiled, "but I'm glad everything's looking good, that he or she is growing as they should be.""Yeah" Olivia smiled as she let her hand rest on her stomach, her head falling onto Trevor's shoulder, "so am I."Trevor smiled and pecked Olivia's cheek, "do you want to go and get the kids? Get something to eat before you have to go back to work?"
