Authors note: This takes place 6 years before the events of the original film, Dim arrived at the circus two days ago, Heimlich wasn't present yet Which also took place after Taming a Rhino Beetle. Dim was a younger Rhino Beetle and a teenager and at the time Dim wasn't able to communicate yet, too Hope you like it!

It was a beautiful day in Bugdom City, The sun was up and all the bugs were busy doing there daily activities and P.T. Fleas Circus Troupe was up and they greeted each other,except for the Shy Rhino Beetle, Dim.

Dim hasn't quite felt adjusted yet but he will eventually.

It will take Dim time to feel adjusted since he's in a complete different circus and different bugs as well.

Rosie let a gentle glide on Dim so that way he doesn't loose her sight but she figured for now she doesn't want Dim to feel to stress and to feel that he would get set off, by the annoying Pillbugs Tuck and Roll.

Manny:" Good morning Rosie my dear?"

Rosie:" Good morning Manny honey!"

Gypsy:" Did you sleep well, Rosie dear?"

Rosie:" Oh yes thank you, Gypsy honey!"

Gypsy:" Your Welcome, Rosie dear!"

Gypsy saw Dim behind Rosie.

Dim felt shy and he hide behind Rosie.

Manny:" I take that Dim slept well too, Rosie my dear?"

Rosie:" Yeah he kinda did, I was hearing him growl a lot in his sleep like something he was having a dream."

Slim:" Poor fellow."

Francis:" Woa that's a shock, We're you able to calm him down!"

Rosie:" Yes I was!"

Manny:" Thats good that you were able to calm him down gently Rosie my dear!"

Gypsy:" I wish we knew more about him, like where he came from and why Dim can't communicate!"

Slim:" Yeah, that's a good thought, Gypsy!"

Francis:" Yeah, The problem is we don't know anything about Rhinoceros Beetles or where he came from!"

Manny:" It is up to me to ask P.T. more information about our pet Rhino Beetle and where Dim came from, Gypsy come!"

Gypsy:" Right behind you, Manny dear!"

Gypsy and manny went to go talk to P.T. about more information about Dim.

Francis:" Want to go to the bar and get some grub?"

Slim:" Sure I'm down to join you, Francis, Rosie want to come?"

Rosie:" I could go but I don't want to leave Dim unattended because he's not quite used to things!"

Francis:" It looks like you will be playing momma duty?"

Rosie crosses her arms and gave Francis the stern look.

Rosie:" Real funny Francis, how about you watch Dim and I'll go to the bar with Slim!"

Francis:" What, like hell I'm watching a teenager, not happening!" I'll watch younger insect children just not a teenage 14 Â year old ,( part feral ) Rhinoceros Beetle though, who doesn't even communicate!"I bet he can't even fly yet?"

Rosie to Francis:" Ahem, Francis , Dim is a child, he's too young to be by himself you know I will have to run errands too you know!"You know very well That Dim doesn't talk yet!"

Francis already walked off with Slim.

Rosie scoffed and shook her head.

Rosie talks to herself:" Uh that ladybug, what am I going to do with him?"

Dim Shyly whimpered animal like, showing it doesn't look like Francis likes him all that well.

Rosie reassures Dim, by petting Dim on his horn very smoothly with passion.

Rosie:" There there, Dim!" Don't worry about Francis it will take him Time to get used to you at the meantime let's go take you to the animal park!"

Dim makes an animal like chirp, showing there is a pet park.

Rosie:" Yes, Dim theres a pet park, all animals are allowed in!"

Rosie takes Dim to check it out.

Meanwhile, Manny and Gypsy were talking to P.T. about if he knows anything about Dim.

Manny:" Excuse us, P.T. but do you have any information about Dim?"

P.T. Flea:" Does it look I'm a Rhinoceros Beetle expert to you?"

Manny and Gypsy nodded there heads.

Gypsy:" We just thought you had paperwork that help us learn more about Dim is all, P.T. !"

P.T. Flea sighs.

P.T. Flea gives them Dim's information.

P.T. Flea:" Here there's Dim's information!"

Manny and Gypsy left out of P.T. Flea's office and he continued working on his allowance and his money counting.

Manny and Gypsy went to go find there other friends but they were no wear in sight.

Manny and Gypsy decided to look at Dim's paperwork.

Later that day

Two hours later, Rosie took Dim to check out the pet park, Rosie had Dim by her so that way for safety reasons just in case. Rosie sees all sorts pet owners with there pet animals. So in away she's hoping that Dim can make friends with other animals to see how he does with them.

Rosie:" See Dim, this the pet park."

Dim saw all sorts of animals but at the same time he's shy and nervous.

Rosie can see Dim is very nervous about it because he doesn't know how other animals will do with him because he's so much bigger than some animals.

Rosie reassures Dim.

Rosie:" It's okay Dim, Will just try with baby steps to see how you do, sounds like a plan!"

Rosie pets Dim on his horn very smoothly with passion, Dim gently nudging Rosie while purring.

Dim Shyly but surely nodded his head slowly.

Rosie takes the gentle glide off of Dim.

Dim Shyly but surely tries to approach some nearby animals ( beetles, scales and aphids and Mealybugs) to see how he does with them.

While that was going on, Some of the pet owners were looking at Rosie with Dim and they were curious and surprised about that Dim is rare to them, since they have never scene a rhino beetle before.

One pet owner came up to Rosie.

Pet owner: Hi sorry to bother but is that A Rhino Beetle?"

Rosie:" Yes, The Rhino Beetle is mine!"Were new so I figured this would be the perfect spot to be."

Pet Owner:" Wow!" Rhino Beetle's are very rare there not common here, anyhow What is his name?"

Rosie:" His name is Dim, he arrived two days ago so we adopted him!" He's an adolescent male Rhino Beetle!" We're trying to learn about him!"

Pet Owner:" Aww that's so sweet of you guys adopted the rhino beetle!" That's good your getting knowledge."

Rosie;" Thanks!"

Pet Owner:" Your Welcome!"

Rosie:" Which one is yours?"

Pet Owner:" That one right there, Is mine!"

Rosie saw a beautiful female Rhino beetle who was there drinking some water and was walking gracefully towards her owner.

Rosie: " Aww she's beautiful what's her name?"

Pet Owner:" Her name is Sapphire!"

Rosie:" Aww That's so sweet where did you get her from?"

Pet Owner:" From a rescue group, they found her from a foreign circus who didn't want her so I adopted her!"

Rosie:" Thats wonderful, news!" How old is she?"

Pet Owner:" She's an adolescent female!"

Rosie:"Oh!"Thats wonderful."

The female rhino beetle walked up to her owner.

Pet Owner:" Hey girl are you doing okay?"

Pet Owner petted her female rhino beetle on her smooth horn, gently and the female rhino beetle was purring.

Rosie was touched by that moment.

Rosie was seeing if Dim was doing anything, and she sees Dim feeling shy because he was definitely nervous about approaching other animals.

Rosie:" It's nice to meet you, Sapphire, I have Dim, he's very shy and he's sweet too, if want your more welcome to say hi to Dim, that is if she wants too!"

Rosie gestures towards Dim's direction.

Pet Owner saw Dim. Dim was hiding behind a leaf since he's shy the pet owner can only see his legs and his freckled horn poking out.

Pet Owner:" Aww!" He's shy!"

The female rhino beetle has noticed Dim as well, she smiled at that there's a male Rhino Beetle in her presence.

The female rhino beetle was very interested in Dim, she was slowly appoarching Dim.

Pet Owner:" Aww! It looks like she's curious about your male Rhino Beetle, Miss!"

Rosie:" Aww, Thank you that's nice of you to say,I'm hoping he does okay, we don't know if he gets along with other animals or not!"

Pet Owner:" Your Welcome!"Sapphire why don't you go over and say hi to Dim!"

Rosie and the other Pet Owner watches to see what happens.

The female rhinoceros beetle slowly approaches Dim, Dim felt shy and almost started growling because he thinks it's another male beetle, than appears a female Rhinoceros Beetle.

Dim Shyly stopped growling, and Dim Shyly blushes and gives a first smile. He hides away because he doesn't have much confidence yet.

The female rhinoceros Beetle was making animal like chirp showing she's friendly.

The female rhinoceros beetle was budding her eyelashes at Dim and she makes animal like chirp and is purring showing, Come on out, it's okay I want to be friends with you.

Note

Both of Dim and Sapphire don't talk yet and haven't quite figured out how to communicate with words yet.

Dim Shyly but surely came out of hiding and slowly but surely saw everyone else, other pet owners saw Dim.

And some were curious about Dim.

Dim felt more nervous because it's like somehow something's triggering him to have bad memories from a bad experience with interacting with other bugs and animals ( mainly Beetles) to where in Dim's case..

Rosie saw that Dim is freaking out.

Pet Owner:" Oh my is he okay?"

Rosie:" I think this will take him a little bit of time, he's not used to this kind of feedback yet!"

Pet Owner:" Oh my, Poor Dim!"

Rosie reassures Dim.

Rosie:" Easy Dim it's okay!" Easy boy!"

Dim Shyly whimpers in an animal like manner, showing he's scared and stressed.

Rosie was petting Dim on his smooth freckled horn gently , Dim Shyly but surely calmed down and Dim started purring affectionately.

All pet owners:" Awww!"

Rosie:" I think it's about time to go, will try again later, Dim!"

Rosie puts the gentle glide on Dim's horn, and Rosie waved bye to The female rhino beetle's owner, she waved back.

Rosie:" Bye It was nice meeting you, will come back to visit soon!"

Pet Owner:" You too, take care!"

The female rhino beetle makes an animal like chirp showing, that she has a crush on Dim, and she feels bad.

Pet Owner:" It's okay Sapphire, It's going to take Dim time to feel comfortable and adjusted he's very shy and he's very sweet too, but we can definitely meet up again later."

Pet owner reassured Sapphire.

Once Rosie and Dim got back to meet up with the other Circus bugs.

Rosie saw Dim was getting tired.

Rosie decided to put Dim to bed early so that way she can hangout with Manny and Gypsy so she can read more about Dim, which Rosie invited Manny and Gypsy over to her place.

Once Rosie puts Dim to bed she tucked him into bed and soothe him with her lullaby and puts his toy next to him, Dim falls right to sleep and was purring.

Rosie smiled at the fact.

Rosie stood up and she went into the living room to let Manny and Gypsy in.

Manny and Gypsy shows Rosie some information about Dim.

Later that night

As it got late Rosie bids Manny and Gypsy a goodnight and she thanked them for showing her about Dim's information. Rosie closed the door and she goes into the bedroom to check in on Dim.

Dim was growling slightly in his sleep, Rosie came over to calm Dim down.

Rosie:" Shh! It's okay Dim, your having a dream."

Rosie reassures Dim.

Rosie pets Dim very smoothly with passion, Dim surely calmed down and was making an animal like chirp and was purring affectionately.

Rosie smiled at the fact.

Rosie:" Aww, Dim you sweet beetle!"

Rosie was soothing Dim.

Rosie stood up and goes to bed and goes into her hammock. Rosie was in her bed thinking about what Manny and Gypsy was telling her while they we're sharing Dim's information.

Rosie wondered if what might have happened.

Rosie talks to herself:" Poor Dim!" He was abused and mistreated by the other insects and even the other animals he used to be in picked fights on him."

Rosie looked to make sure that Dim is sleeping okay.

Rosie saw that Dim is sleeping calmly.

Rosie talks to herself about Dim:" Don't worry Dim ,we will never treat you that way the way the other insects and animals did to you!"We promise!"

Rosie closes her eyes and falls fast asleep.

The end!

Whew ! Hope you liked my new Bugs Life one shot fanfic I wrote, I absolutely loved it! It has both heartfelt and humor in it, this is why it would make a perfect episode too ,I can definitely tell Francis doesn't like Dim at first, OMG. Dim is so cute when he's shy at the same time, From what Dim has been through it will definitely take a little more time for Dim to feel adjusted. I loved that Rosie did take Dim to a pet park ( a bug version of a dog park) and there Rosie met a pet owner who had a beautiful female Rhino Beetle,Rosie was pleased to meet an owner who has a rhinoceros beetle, Who was named Sapphire! Sapphire wanted to become friends with Dim, but he was very shy and wasn't quite adjusted yet. Dim will shyly but surely start to warm up to things, especially Sapphire. He did smile shyly at Sapphire, which was very adorable ðŸ, Rosie knows what Dim has been going through with interactions. Anyways I Hope you like it there will be more to come.
