An eight year old Dominican girl with long brown hair, clear blue eyes, and a pair of cute blue suspenders over a long sleeved and rainbow striped shirt walked off the plane, and into a whole new place. The nice lady had helped her board the plane, and told her to look for a similarly dressed man when she arrived, so she started looking around until she spotted a man in a clean black suit and glasses.

With a bit of hesitation, she approached a man that looked right and tried to smile, "Hola, senor… um, I'm Luz… are you the one who's supposed to help me find my mama?"

For a moment the man looked like he was going to snap at her, but then he stopped and his face split into a cold smile, "Sorry about that little one. You caught me by surprise. Follow me, and we'll find your 'mama'." He started walking away, but flinched when he felt Luz's little hand take his.

Luz looked around in awe at all of the new sights and sounds around her. This place was so different from her small town back in the Dominican Republic. She saw signs in a weird language and dozens of new bright and colorful things as they walked.

Luz asked about her bag, but the man told her that someone would grab it for her, and not to worry. Luz just smiled at that as she thought, "Mama must have really nice friends to do all of this for her."

After a few minutes, they stopped by a black car, and the man helped her get inside and buckle herself in the passenger seat before opening up the glove compartment and splashing something on a rag. With a smile he looked at Luz, "Hey, little one. Do you think you could help me with something?"

Luz's eyes brightened and she nodded happily, "Sure mister. You're helping me find my Mama, so I'd love to help?"

The man got a sadistic smile, "I have an anniversary coming up, and I wanted to get her something special. I bought this perfume, but I'm afraid I don't know if it's any good. Think you can give it a sniff, and tell me what you think?" Luz nodded, and took a deep whiff of the rag, but then everything got hazy and she passed out. The last thing she heard before she passed out was the man snicker to himself, "Stupid kid. That was almost too easy."

When Luz woke up her head hurt really bad, and she was afraid. She was in an unfamiliar barely lit room. There was only a single overhead light. Luz saw a window, but it was blacked out, and she couldn't move. She was alone, she thinks, but she was bound to a chair with thick cord. Luz wanted to cry, but Lucia held the tears back. Idiot. How could you let this happen? Now we'll never find Mama. That Sonia lady was very specific to not trust anyone and use that funny phrase, but you forgot, and not look at us. Luz sniffled, "I'm sorry, Cia. I-I-I just thought… I tried." Suddenly they heard a noise, and Lucia snarled, "Shut up idiot. He's coming back." Luz's frame stiffened in fear, and a minute later the man walked in with a sleeveless vest, and a bag in his hand. Luz watched as he pulled a chair and small folding table over before he sat down and looked at her with a cold smile.

"I'm sorry little one. I know this must all be very scary for you, but I promise if you're good… I won't have to hurt you." Luz shivered at his cold even tone, but she nodded in understanding. "Good. Now, I think it's time we get to know each other a bit. You can call me Puppet Master. You said your name was Luz, Luz what I wonder?"

Luz trembled and shrank as much as she could in her binding, "Luz Noceda, Mr. Puppet Master."

Puppet Master smiled, and nodded, "Not a name I've heard of, but given you just got off a plane that's not a surprise. Luz, I'm guessing you have a quirk. What can you do?"

Luz heard Lucia growl, "Don't tell him about me or my quirk. Only yours." Luz looked away in fear, but answered in a low tone, "I-It's called Legendary Light. I-I can manipulate or empower light. It's really just little 'fireflies' to chase away the darkness though right now."

Puppet Master considered that for a moment, before he sighed, "I guess it's better than nothing. What brought you to Japan, and why were you traveling alone? That seems very negligent of your parents."

Luz felt her eyes get misty, "Our home was attacked. Mom… mom got hurt real bad, and then these people came, and they said I had to go stay with my Mama for a while. I-I-I'm not dumb though. I heard a few of them talking… Whoever attacked us burned down our home, and… I haven't seen my Mom since she told me to hide. Please Mr. Puppet Master, I don't know why your doing this, but I'm sure if you let me go Mama E-" Luz was suddenly cut off as the man struck her hard across the face.

He roared, "I didn't ask for your opinions. You'll answer my questions, and IF you prove worth the effort MAYBE I'll consider ransoming you to your 'Mama', but until I decide whether you're worth the effort you'll shut up, and answer my questions. Keep annoying me though, and I'll make you into one of my puppets. Am I understood?"

He waited for a moment, but when Luz sat back up and looked at him, he noticed the girl's eyes were now red… and she was smiling despite her busted lip. With a giggle the girl spoke, "Poor Puppet Master… you were doing so well, but now you get to deal with ME." Puppet Master tried to strike her again, but the room suddenly went pitch black for a moment, and when he could see again the girl was simply gone. To his horror he saw that the bindings remained untouched and in one piece. Suddenly he heard her voice all around him, "Not so fun fighting someone who can hit back is it?"

Puppet Master growled, "Real cute kid, but I hold all the cards. You don't know where we are. You don't have any friends to help you. I'll admit though, this is a nice trick. If you come out right now, I promise I won't hurt you."

He heard more giggles before he felt something sharp against his ankles, and he fell over. To his shock he had small bleeding cuts on them. "Tisk-tisk. I'm not as dumb as my sister, and only I'm allowed to hurt her. You made us bleed, so it's only fair I returned the favor."

Puppet Master got up on shaky legs as he continued to growl, "This is no longer cute. Come out now, or so help me, I'll start liquefying your insides while you're still awake." He suddenly felt something slam against his knees, and a sharp pain across his back as something made a long gash across it.

"I don't think you're in any position to threaten us anymore, Puppet Failure. You thought you were in control, but ~ I know something you don't know ~." The voice continued to giggle all around him further infuriating the Puppet Master.

Puppet Master seethed as he snapped, "And what pray tell, do you think you know?"

The giggles continued, and he saw a tendril of darkness shoot out of the floor and cut his cheek, "I know lot's of things, but for now… I'll just introduce myself. You met my sister Luz, and she prefers Mom's last name, but I prefer Mama's. My name if Lucia Clawthorne, and your FUCKED."

Suddenly someone crashed through the blacked out window lighting up the room. She was a tall woman covered in black, orange, and gray feathers. As the Puppet Master looked up it was into a pair of very angry golden eyes with black sclera. He saw the woman's claws and talons, and in that moment he knew the girl was right. Of all the kids in all the world he had to kidnap The Harpy's kid. The Puppet Master was too terrified to move. He saw her snarl as she leaned down and lifted him off the ground, as she hissed out a single question, "Where… is… my… DAUGHTER!"

From a shadow nearby, they saw Luz rise up like she was climbing out of a pool. With a happy smile she chirped, "Hi Mama. Sorry about worrying you. Lu, thought this man was our contact, and forgot to check. I tried to follow the rules, but he hit her… and I decided it was time to take over. Did I do good? I didn't kill him, just like you asked me too."

The woman sighed, before knocking out the Puppet Master in a single taloned punch to the head. As she tied him up she smiled at the girl, "Yes, Lucia. You did a good job. It's safe now, so do you think I can talk to Luz now?"

Lucia groaned, "Yes, Mama Eda." After a moment the girls eyes changed back to blue, and she seemed a little dazed, but then she saw Eda and she teared up, "Mama!? I'm so sorry. I tried, but… I just got so scared. Cia's better at making the monsters go away, so I let her take over. I know I'm not supposed to, but-but-but…"

Luz started to ball, and Eda just held her daughter close, "Está bien, mi pequeña Owlets. Mamá está aquí. (It's okay, my little Owlets. Mommy is here.) I'm so sorry you got hurt, but I promise, I'll protect you. I love you."

For a moment Luz's eyes became heterochromatic as one was blue while the other was red, and a layered voice came out, "We love you too Mama."

Ten minutes later, police arrived to an abandoned warehouse, and found a notorious killer and trafficker tied up and waiting. While most of the cops were distracted a dark blue haired detective in a suit slipped around a corner only to be met by the angry glare of a very feathery woman. With a sigh she spoke, "I know you're mad Edalyn, but I got tied up in traffic. How was I supposed to know this would happen?"

Eda snorted in irritation and began angrily poking the other woman in the chest, "Not important right now Lily. That asshole hurt my daughter, your niece. I left him breathing this time as per our agreement, but you better put him in Tartarus because if I see him again… you'll be finding him in pieces. Also, I get to be mad. I asked you for one small favor, pick up your niece from the airport, but noooo prissy Lily had to drag her tail feathers, and nearly get my little girl killed. If you weren't my sister I'd claw your eyes out."

Lilith gave Eda a sad look, "I know. I-I'm sorry. Is Luzara all right?"

Eda let out a long breath, "She's scared, and he hit her. The bastard split her lip, but she'll be fine."

Lilith looked away awkwardly, "Edalyn… it's not too late. My offer stands. If you come in voluntarily I can get you a deal. Luzara needs you now that Camila is-"

Eda scowled, "No. I'm a vigilante. I do the things you can't, and I'm not going to apologize for it. Camila might be gone, but I'll be damned if I'm going to give up searching for the monster who killed my Dove." Eda sighed, "You keep working your angles, and I'll work mine." Eda chuckled, "I'll make you a deal. The day the people who killed my Cammy are in the ground… I'll turn myself in, but until than… I have a little girl in desperate need of a hug. I love you, Sis."

Lilith smiled faintly, "I love you too, you obstinate pain in my feathers." As Eda turned to leave, she heard Lilith whisper, "C-can you give Luz a kiss for me? Please… tell her that her Aunt Lily is sorry."

Eda looked back and saw a tear roll down the cold mask Lilith tried to hide behind while she was in uniform. Eda smiled, "Ya… I can do that."

With that taken care of, the Clawthorne sisters went back to 'important work'. For Lilith that was working to clean up the streets with the law at her back, and for Eda… Eda flew home quietly with her little girl napping against her feathered chest after a long day. Life might not be easy for Eda, but she would do her best to care for her Dove's precious gift.

Luz Noceda sat in class, and did her best to listen to the long winded speech of her teacher. It had been nearly eight years since she came to Sapporo, Japan to live with her infamous mother Edalyn 'The Harpy' Clawthorne. Most people kept their distance from Luz, not because of her vigilante mom, no that remained a well kept secret, but because she was odd. Even in a world filled with quirks, Luz stood out. Luz only had two friends despite all of the numerous awards she had earned. Luz managed to be near the top of all of her classes, and had made a name for herself on multiple teams: baseball, fencing, creative writing, art, and boxing most notably. No, Luz's problem was that she pushed people away, and one of the reasons why was currently giving her a hard time.

"Come on Lu, won't you at least think about it? Willow's cute, and we both know you've had a crush for years. Give it a shot. What's the worst that can happen," Whispered Lucia inside Luz's head.

Luz let out a frustrated groan, something other students had long since learned to ignore from the latina as she responded in her head, "Firstly, YOU'RE the one with the crush, and she's just a friend. I'm not going to let you hurt her, or play with her emotions, Cia. Now shut up, class is almost over, and Mom needs us to help out in the shop tonight."

Lucia groaned, "Ugh, can we at least go hunting tonight. I'm getting stir crazy, and need to crack a few skulls."

Before Luz could answer a sheet of paper was placed on her desk, and Luz looked up from her daze to see her teacher looking slightly annoyed, but not surprised, "Ms. Noceda, have you been listening at all?" Luz just sheepishly scratched the back of her head, making the teacher sigh, "Luz, you have a lot of potential, and that's why we aren't letting you let it slip away." When Luz just looked at her confused, the teacher continued, "You never turned in your High school application, so the principal and I did it for you." With a smirk the teacher pointed to the paper, "Ms. Noceda, congratulations. You have ten months to prepare yourself for the U.A. entrance exam. We expect you to represent all of us here at Sakura Tech, and become the hero we all know you can be."

Luz was too shocked to respond, but inside her head she heard, "Well… fu-"

Later at The Owl House, a shop that carried all manner of odds and ends, as well as a room in the back for 'special services', Luz was sitting behind a counter feeling conflicted as she watched the store with her best friends Willow Park and Augustus 'Gus' Porter keeping her company. Willow was a dark green haired Korean girl that always seemed to smell vaguely of fresh flowers and soil. Under her black sweater and old faded brown trench coat people would be surprised to find a fit toned frame, but otherwise it was easy to assume she was just kinda stocky. Gus on the other hand had dark mocha skin, and a thin frame, but also an ever present smile and manic energy that made him a fun guy to hang out with.

Currently they were both trying to understand why Luz seemed so hesitant to take the entrance exam for U.A. "Lu, it's literally the most prestigious hero school in the country. People come from all over the world to study there. I still don't see the issue," asked Willow in exasperation.

Luz grumbled, "I just… I never saw myself as much of a hero, ya know. Sure my Aunt is a big shot cop or whatever, but… I kind of just thought I'd take over the shop when mom retires."

Gus looked at Luz aghast, "No insult to Eda or the OH, but are you insane? You're so strong, and your quirk is amazing. Why would you want to throw that away?"

Luz groaned into her hands, "It's… complicated, ok?"

Willow and Gus sighed, but decided it was time for the big guns. They each reached into their bags and pulled out similar paper's to the one that Luz had received, shocking her. With a smirk Gus declared, "My dad pulled some strings, and I'm going to try for the management course. Start with reporting, and maybe work my way up to a government position. Willow's applied for the general studies course, but we both know she'll join you in the hero course in no time with her skills."

Willow blushed, "Calm down Gus. There's no way I could be a hero. I'm just 'Weedy Willow', but I didn't want to be left behind when you both left to be all you can be. I honestly expected you to be the first one to jump on this opportunity Luz. Sure you might have a bit of a delinquent streak, but nobody else stands up against bullies as often as you do. If it wasn't for you… I don't know what would have happened to Gus and I. You're our hero, so why not embrace it?"

Luz sat back, and for a moment Willow thought she saw a flicker of red in her friend's blue eyes, but it disappeared as quickly as it appeared, "OK, so I like fighting, and bullies are an easy excuse to indulge, but that doesn't make me a hero. I'm not like Aunt Lily, and… I'm nothing like my mom."

The room suddenly got somber as both of Luz's friends knew she wasn't referring to Eda. They had never pressed for what happened, but both knew that Camila "The Red Wrath' Noceda had lived and died a true hero, and Luz never wanted to talk about it, so they respected her bounders and tried not to bring it up. Whatever happened scared Luz in ways they could scarcely imagine, but they couldn't allow it to hold her back. Unfortunately, they would have to discuss it later because it was getting late, and they had to head home, but both agreed that they would find a way to convince Luz to give U.A. a chance.

After hugging them both goodbye, Luz was left alone with only her thoughts… and Lucia. "Don't you think it's time you tell them about me, Sis? We both know they're not dumb, and there's no way they haven't noticed any of the signs. Even when I don't try to take over we occasionally slip, and we almost swap. Are you really that embarrassed by me?"

Despite Lucia's constant cold or crazed tone, Luz could feel the sadness in that question, and she sighed, "No, I love you Lucia, but… our situation is still… weird. How am I supposed to tell anyone 'Hey guys, so my twin sister who I absorbed in the womb lives in my head and we can swap at will, but I've kept her a secret for the last six years because she likes fighting a bit too much and blood turns her on.' Ya, that'll go over great. What's next? Do you want me to tell them we're Death Shadow, the person going around hunting drug deals in the dark? Pass."

Luz heard Lucia chuckle, "Love you too sis, but how do you know I'm the one with the kink? It's OUR head, so it could just as easily be you, ya know."

Luz scoffed, "Because I'm not the one begging to go 'hunting' every other night like a psycho serial killer."

Lucia let out an offended scoff, "Whatever. You're the one pushing us to join all those clubs knowing they get me all amped up. We just need a release every so often, and I've been getting better at leaving most of them alive… OK, I killed that pedo last week, but in my defense he was getting ready to snatch up that little boy. Can you really blame me?" Luz stayed silent for a few minutes either unwilling or unable to argue about that incident. Sounding nervous Lucia pressed, "Soooo, U.A.? What's your thoughts on that?"

Luz massaged her temples, "Mama will never agree to it, and we don't need it." Luz looked up sadly, "Hero's can't do the things that need done. As a vigilante we can protect everyone… but I still wish we could go for a day, and see it for ourselves."

"I think you should give it a shot," came Eda's voice from behind Luz, making her jump. Eda cackled, "You were talking out loud again. You two only do that when you're stressed. Tell Mama what's got you on edge."

Luz looked away in shame, but suddenly her body jerked and Eda was looking into a pair of scarlet eyes, "Hi, mama. The school decided we needed to apply to a high school without asking us… and they made us an appointment to take the U.A. entrance exam in ten months. Luz is being difficult, but… I think we should give it a shot. Mom… she wouldn't want us to not at least try right."

Eda sagged into a chair with a thousand mile stare before she recovered, and sighed with a smile, "Your right Lucia."

Suddenly one of Luz's eyes turned blue and her face scrunched up in anger, "The hell Mama. You told us how rough that place was for you, and now you're just pushing us out the door. The hell?!"

Eda's smile turned into a smirk, "Yep I washed out, but the skills I learned still made me a threat. You might have a lot of me in you… but you're also so much like my precious Dove. Girls, don't let my hang ups drag you down. I want my Owlets to soar, and Cammy would say the same thing if she was here." Eda gave Luz a reassuring hug. "Now, it's about time you head home. King probably really wants to see his big sisters, and it's your turn to cook. Just please, no diablo fuerte this time. You and King might have cast iron stomachs, but this old bird can't handle getting broiled again." That comment made all three laugh.

A couple minutes later Luz had her favorite beanie on, a red one with stitched on horns and a pride flag pin on one side, and her bag on her back. Eda used to walk Luz home, but these days Luz liked to walk alone. Something about parkour in the dark made her feel like she was flying. It had a second purpose though. The neighborhood used to be kinda rough at night, but now that the Shadow prowled around people felt a lot safer leaving their windows cracked. It was still rough, but kids could feel free to play now, and that made Luz and Lucia feel proud.

Unfortunately not everyone got the message. As Luz looked down from one of the roofs, she spotted a trio of local delinquents arguing in the playground Luz and her class had helped organize as a class project the year before. With a sigh Luz let Lucia take control, and manifest their mask. It was a black owl-like oni mask made with Lucia's quirk, Deepest Darkness, and solidified shadows. Once that was on, Lucia pulled up the hood on the jacket they used to cover themselves up, also made from Lucia's quirk. Fading into the shadows to approach and hear what was going on Lucia heard them continue to argue, but more than that they seemed afraid.

"Derrick, this is crazy. We did what the crazy bitch said, and now she wants us to do something else? I didn't sign up to hurt anyone. It was supposed to be just a few simple grab and drops. This has gotten out of control," whisper shouted a teen with uneven stubble and a black hoodie that hid any other identifiable features.

"Ichi, you need to relax. Sure she's crazy, but her cash is good, and she's paying double this time. Nobody needs to get hurt. We distract the pigs for a couple minutes, and then disappear. At worst we're a nuisance. It's still easy money. You're with me aren't you, Tina," pressed Darrick, a slightly older teen with a greasy air about him that reminded Lucia of when her mama was really pushing for a sale in the shop, a used car dealer.

Then Lucia heard a higher pitched voice come from a mountain of a girl with stony red skin like fresh bricks, "Ichi is right Derrick. Doing these little jobs for Magpie was cool, and I was able to help my dad a bit, but I can't be a part of this. I won't."

Derrick sighed, "I was afraid this might happen." Lucia watched as Derrick's hand suddenly changed into a long blade, and Tina instinctively shoved Ichi behind her, but got slashed for her trouble. Deciding enough was enough, Lucia punched Derrick in the back of the head with a shadow-covered punch, and he suddenly dropped onto the ground.

As the other teens saw the THE Death Shadow appear before them, they started to tremble in fear, but to his credit Ichi tried to protect Tina despite his thin frame doing little to actually cover her. Lucia snickered at that before she reached into a shadow and pulled out a first aid kit. Throwing it to Ichi, Lucia spoke in the layered tone they used to cover their voice, "Clean up your girlfriend. I have questions andthen you'rgoing to tell your stories to the cops. Understood?"

Tina blushed, but Ichi nodded before he started gently taking care of the long surprisingly shallow gash Tina received from Derrick. Lucia reached into the shadows again and pulled out her spare pair of suppressor cuffs, and put them around Derrick's wrists. With that done, the teens saw Death Shadow bind Derrick with a swing chain before they sat in the other swing, and shot off a text. They watched as one of the scariest people in town giggled like a little girl before pulling a bag of candied fruit from an inside pocket, and starting to nibble on it through their mask. The whole time though they noticed Death Shadow never took their eyes off them, and once they were settled they held out the bag, "Want one?"

They shook their heads, and Ichi stammered, "Y-your not going to k-kill us?"

Death Shadow tilted their head, "I could if you want, but I don't see a reason too. Arguing in a park isn't illegal, and you told that bastardo no to being a part of his plan. All I want are answers. Harpy and I run this town, and if this 'Magpie' thinks they can muscle in… well, they're in for a bad time. So here's the deal, you tell me what you know, and I'll make sure your families are safe until this blows over. If you want long term protection… I might be able to pull some strings, but you'll need to agree to talk to the cops after. Think you can handle that, love birds?"

Both teens blushed this time, but nodded before Ichi spoke up first, "I'm guessing you want everything on Magpie. She's a thin average height woman with a real hard-on for shiny things, and anything shiny seems to be enough for her… it's really weird, but she paid well so we agreed to show up a few times, grab a backpack, and leave it somewhere else she told us to. We didn't ask questions, and nobody got hurt, we swear. Can't tell you much else about her. Bird mask hid her face, and she wore this black feathered clothing that blocked everything else."

Death Shadow gave them a hard stare, "Why did you get involved though?"

Tina looked away, "My dad works construction and he got hurt a month back. The doctors said he'll be fine in a couple more weeks, but he can't work and the doctors bills are bleeding us dry. I-I picked up a few shifts with his crew, but it wasn't enough. I needed more money and I was desperate. If not for the extra cash I earned from Magpie and the stuff that shows up in our mailbox… we would have lost everything."

Tina flinched when she saw Death Shadow reach out a hand to her, and cup her cheek. In a soothing voice though they heard Shadow say, "You're a good daughter Tina." Shadow shifted her eyes to Ichi, "And you Ichi?"

Ichi blushed, "I-I…" Turning to Tina he cleared his throat, "I've had a crush on you for years, but… I'm worthless. I'm weak, and the only thing my quirk, blood tide, lets me do is recuperate blood faster. It's not even a real healing quirk. When I heard your dad got hurt… Tina, I'm the one who kept leaving you money. I had some stashed away from selling my blood to hospitals, but it wasn't enough. When I heard you were desperate enough to work for that psycho… I couldn't let you do it alone, and my cuts let me continue helping your dad. I-I love you Tina. I just wanted to keep you safe."

For a moment both teens forgot about Lucia as they just looked at each other before Tina gave Ichi a kiss on the cheek, "You're such a moron, but I guess you're my moron." Ichi tried to speak, but Tina put a finger to his lips. "Later, Casanova. I think we have a lot to discuss, and I think my dad would like to meet the guy who saved our home. Might score you a few points… if we decide we want to give 'us' a try."

They heard Lucia giggle, and they both blushed, but Shadow held up her hands, "Ignore me. I'm just a simp for a cute love story." They watched Death Shadow pull a paper from her pocket, and a pen before writing a note. The teens watched Shadow fold it, and hand it to Tina, "When you talk to the fuzz, ask for Detective Clawthorne and hand her this note. It's perfectly safe. If anyone else opens it, the message will disappear since it's written in shadows, but she'll help you. Now, I have a few more questions before I help you get to the police station. Let's get this done quick… I get the feeling somebody is itching to have that conversation." Both teens blushed again, but they answered all of her questions as best they could. When they were done, Death Shadow smirked behind her mask, "Hold on tight Love birds, and good luck. You really do make a cute couple." Lucia snapped, and both teens disappeared onto a shadow.

Four blocks away, both teens tumbled out of a wall in the alley by the police precinct, and somehow Ichi ended up landing on top of Tina. For a moment their eyes met before they shared a kiss. When they seperated, Tina giggled, "I think I could get used to this." Then she blushed, "By the way Ichijo, I had a crush on you for a while too."

Ichi smiled, "Even after everything that just happened… I'd do it all again. Would you… would you go out with me?"

Tina smiled back and held Ichi close, "If we don't get arrested my Ichi… yes, but can we just lay here for a while first? I think I owe my hero at least a few more kisses."

A half hour later, Lucia was walking home when her phone buzzed.

(Crankyfeathers) Did you seriously send two hormonal teens to bother me?

(Godoftwilight) yup. Also I sent a banger your way for interrogation. He works for some crazy named Magpie. Fyi she intends to hit a bunch of jewelry stores soon. Doubt this will slow her down, but at least it gives you a head start.

(Crankyfeathers) how many bodies did you leave behind this time?

(Godoftwilight) Lilith Clawthorne I'm hurt. I haven't killed anyone in a week.

(Crankyfeathers) Week? Luz, you were on a two month streak… do I want to know?

(Godoftwilight) Do you want to argue over a pedophile who was about to abduct a six year old?

(Godoftwilight) I thought not. Btw see if you can help that kid Ichi. If I remember right your higher ups were looking for a donor to refill the precincts emergency stores in case of another mass casualty incident like the bombing a couple months ago. He has the perfect quirk to help, and a good heart.

(Crankyfeathers) I'll see what I can do. I already talked to that Tina girl about the academy. Good eye.

(Godoftwilight) she has good instincts, and she took a gash from a blade quirk with minor injury, so I thought you might be able to help her. Also if she's a cadet nobody will mess with their families. Even I don't have the balls to take a shot at a cop… except Philips, but that dirty rat was selling out his own.

(Crankyfeathers) so is it true?

(Godoftwilight) what Aunt Lily?

(Crankyfeathers) are you really considering U.A?

(Godoftwilight) maybe. Why?

(Crankyfeathers) i won't push, but I'm proud of you for thinking about going straight, and I know Camila would be too. I still wish you'd join me at the precinct, but I understand you too much like my sister for that. I love you.

Luz looked at her phone for a while before she sighed, "Everybody says 'no pressure', but they don't understand."

"I think you're the one who doesn't understand Lu. Everyone agrees we can be heroes, even me, but you're still too scared to try," groaned Lucia in exasperation.

"MAYBE I'M SCARED THE PEOPLE WHO KILLED MOM WILL GET ME NEXT," shouted Luz with tears in her eyes.

Lucia sighed, "We both know that's only half of it. We're head mates Luz. You can't hide anything from me anymore than I can hide things from you. Just because we go to U.A… that doesn't mean mama will be in any more danger than usual. She's a slippy old bird, and King can keep an eye on her most of the time. Think about it Lu, U.A. is the best school around to give us the training we need. Even if we don't become heroes, when we graduate we'll be strong enough to take Mom's spot, and maybe expand our territory even further. We can do so much for so many, and all you have to do is have the courage to take a chance. Let's go make our mothers proud."

Luz looked up at the moon, and sighed, "Fine. That gives us ten months to stabilize this place so Death Shadow can retire. I guess we'll have to think up a new name before we enroll, but… it's time for a change."

"Does that mean you'll ask Willow out for me?" asked Lucia hopefully.

Luz laughed, "She literally has no idea you exist, but since I love you, sis… i'll think about it."

Lucia celebrated in Luz's head, "I'll take it. Just you wait my Emerald Rose… you Shadowy Knight will see you soon."

Luz just rolled her eyes, but… looking at the moon, she felt a sense of peace, and for a moment she wondered, "Maybe I'll find my love soon. Maybe they're looking up at the moon right now just like me, and they're making the same wish to find me too."

Halfway across the world a green haired girl was basking in the sun when she suddenly sneezed, and a pair of voices could be heard not far away, "You catching a cold, Mittens?"

The golden eyed girl just scoffed, "Of course not! Now leave me alone, mother says I need to study my Japanese before exam time. I will be the best, and nobody's getting in my way."

Auther notes: And that's chapter one of my first attempt at an MHA crossover. I hope you enjoyed it because it was a lot of fun to work on. For clarity, Luz isn't crazy. Lucia is actually in her head, and that's why she has two seperate quirks. On their own each would be a decent power, but later you'll see why this Luz is kinda busted even worse then Todoroki.

Speaking of, yes we will see most of class 1-A soon, but they won't be the focus.

To explain how Eda being a vigilante works, only the police know who she is. They more or less allow her to do her own thing in exchange for her help occasionally and her being a 'confidential informant' with Lilith as her contact. Only Eda and Lilith know Luz's identity though. For now I'll hold off on any deeper analysis. There are a few more things I want to address in story before I pull back the curtain too much. Until next time, shine on beautiful readers. Shine on.
