A Phantom's Love and Courage
Chapter 1: Prologue
It was a typical day in the town known of Amity Park. The sun is shining and the students of Casper High were excited for the upcoming long weekend.
Five whole days without homework, books or teacher's dirty looks.
However, one student was not going to enjoy it as much as he could and he was not even in Amity Park right now. He is in the ghost zone, in a certain spirit's realm.
His name is Danny Fenton, secretly known as as Danny Phantom, a halfa and the duly deputize ghostly protector of Amity Park.
The young ghost boy was currently at the entrance to this lair, having been brought here by message
This lair also happens to resemble a clock tower, one which he has visited before. However, right now, he did not seem to want to be here right now.
"Please tell me that it's not so urgent to interrupt a rare day off?..."Danny said in disbelief after what the spirit just told him.
His ally merely spoke in a calm tone of voice.
"I said that it was important, Danny..."A certain spirit said.
It was Clockwork, who earlier, sent him a message via stopping time and leaving him a note, saying that he was waiting for him at his Clock Tower.
Now, the ghost boy is here and frowned after being told of this.
"Darn it, does it really have to be now? I'm missing a movie marathon of giant Japanese monsters..."He complained.
"Yes, and there's more to life than tokusatsu..."Clockwork said while Danny groaned.
He wasn't in a good mood today since he had to deal with attacks from both the Lunch Lady, Box Ghost and Skulker. He also had to deal with getting stuffed in his locker by Dash and Mr. Lancer giving yet another one of his pop quizzes, as well as some homework that he rushed through to finish so that he could enjoy the long weekend, including another one of Lancer's totally useless book reports.
Yes, a long weekend.
Today is Friday and it was suppose to be the start of a long, five day weekend... partially thanks to the smell of the expired meat in the basement finally reaching the rest of the school, necessitating a shut down for that long.
Danny wasn't complaining since he needed time off.
However, fate...and Clockwork had other plans, plans that involve Danny, much to the ghostly boy's dismay.
This long weekend was suppose to be a time de-stress. Tucker was going to some theme park with his folks, visiting family while Sam's parents used to opportunity to drag her to some spa that was out of town, leaving the ghost boy to deal with threats on his own and have fun on his own too, which bummed him out a bit.
On the other hand, his parents were also going to be out of town for a few days, since they rented a spot at hotel because it was reportedly haunted and they will be there for quite some time, leaving him and Jazz to do whatever they want.
It was suppose to be his free time but then this happened.
Clockwork told him about that there is some kind of trouble and how he has to take care of something, now of all times, it seems.
"Darn it. I was hoping for some rubber suit monster action!..."Danny thought as he scratched the side of his head.
Now, he has to deal with some threat and has no idea what it is. The ghostly boy sighed in defeat.
"What kind of threat are talking here? Is it the finish in less than one hour kind or the kind that can last until Sunday?..."Danny asked, since he knew that it had to important to get Clockwork of all people to call to him.
The time master then he projected an image of a city, one that is unfamiliar to Danny.
"This is Juban..."Clockwork explained. "You have to go there and aid a certain group known as the Sailor Guardians..."He explained.
"A group of sailors?..."Danny questioned.
"No, heroes in sailor uniforms..."Clockwork said seriously.
"Like... Popeye?..." Danny asked.
"No... where they live, schools have a specific uniform..." Clockwork explained as he showed an image of said heroes.
Danny's eyes widen when he saw a group of girls, who were dressed in what looked like uniforms with really short skirts and strange accessories. He saw an image of them taking down some kind of monster and that didn't look like a ghost.
However, Danny noticed that while those short skirts don't look very conducive to fighting, the girls seemed strong and used long range energy based attacks.
"Impressive..."He thought, as he looked at this group.
While he had to admit that all these girls were attractive, he was drawn to two in particular.
One girl with green coloration and a pink ribbon on her chest and the other one with orange coloration and a red bow on her head. He smiled as he eyed them.
"Those two are actually kinda hot..."He thought, still smiling.
He blushed for a moment but he snapped out of it and redirected his attention.
"So, what do I need to help them with?..."Danny asked, feeling less reluctant now.
"This..."Clockwork said as he projected an image of someone, a stranger to Danny.
"Who is that?..."Danny asked as he looked at the mysterious figure.
"An enemy that that someone of your power can handle better than they can alone..."The time master said as he began to explain who this new foe is and what to expect.
Once he was done, he said only this.
"Be on guard, Danny. This will not be like dealing with the Box Ghost..."The time master said seriously to his young ally.
The ghost boy heard this and knew that this person must be a big deal to get Clockwork's attention. He nodded.
"Okay, exactly where is Juban, anyway?..."Danny asked.
"Japan..."Clockwork answered, shocking the ghost boy.
"JAPAN?!..."Danny exclaimed.
"Yes, Japan. That should have been obvious with how those girls were by a pagoda..."Clockwork answered but the ghostly boy just looked confused.
"A what?..."Danny asked, confused.
"A pagoda is a place of worship, like a church. Only-...Oh, why am I bothering? You're only 14..."He muttered while the ghost kid frowned at that. "Anyway, you must get going and prepare yourself..."He repeated.
"But...how the heck am I suppose to get there? I can't fly all the way there, ya know!..."Danny said.
"Don't worry, I can get you there..."Clockwork said as he help up his staff and showed an image of Juban's train station. "I will make you a portal, which if you go through it, you will be there in an instant..."He added.
Danny realized that he could get home and come back quick. However, a thought came to him that he had to ask.
"But how will I even be able to understand them?..."Danny asked, since he didn't know any Japanese at all.
Clockwork then smirked as he pulled out some kind of bag.
"What's that?..."Danny asked, cautiously as Clockwork pulled out what was inside.
It was some odd looking necklace with a kanji on it. Danny did not understand what it means but Clockwork demonstrated it.
"Behold, it's a magically enhanced necklace that will allow you to understand Japanese and vice versa. However, it only lasts a good 5 hours with a 1 hour recharge period, so use it if you must..."The Time Master explained as he handed the bag to him.
"Alright, when do I leave for this Juban place?..."Danny asked.
"Tomorrow, so I suggest that you use this time to get ready and pack..."Clockwork said with a smirk.
Danny sighed as he left the Clock Tower, heading home to try and get ready for his trip.
"This isn't going to be easy, is it?..."He thought, annoyed but he accepted that he had to do this.
He just hoped that he could resolve whatever problem is happening in Japan and be back to enjoy his remaining time off.
He had no way of knowing just what fate had in store for him, once he makes it to Juban.
Meanwhile
In Japan
Unlike the weather in Amity, Park, it was raining, especially in a place called Juban.
It was pouring and a young girl, no older than 14, was walking home, carrying a teal umbrella with roses on it to protect herself for the rain.
"I wonder when it's going to stop raining. You can never trust those weather forecasters..."She thought as she looked up to the gloomy weather and sighed.
She was upset since she was tired and was hoping to have some fun on her free time...maybe meet a nice guy but she doubted it, given her luck.
"It's not like I can meet someone like this..."She thought as she kept walking, annoyed with how heavy the rain is.
She sighed as she decided to head home, still trying to avoid being drenched.
This girl no way of knowing just what fate had in store for her, good or bad, in the upcoming days.
