Chapter One: Sunnydale
There were candles all around her. Willow was alone in the Summers' house. She prepared herself for tonight. It was the night she was going to bring Buffy back. Willow had to keep Tara in the dark. If Tara knew that she was going to bring back Buffy then she would try to stop her.
Willow chanted a spell and focused on Tara. Tara was at the Magic Shop when she felt dizzy. She sat at the table and put her head down. Her eyes closed and she fell asleep. Willow blew out the candles. It was time. It was time to bring Buffy back.
The prophecy rang in his head.
The father will kill the son.
Wesley packed the baby bag. He was going to take Connor away from Angel. He knew it was the right thing to do. He was just about to leave when Lorne interrupted him. He lied about his true plans and then held Connor in his arms. Wesley hummed him a lullaby and Lorne read him. Lorne knew what he was up to. Wesley put Connor back into the crib and attacked Lorne.
Lorne ran and Wesley found an object to hit him over the head. Lorne was knocked out. He went back to Connor and picked him up. Wesley quickly ran to his vehicle and strapped Connor into the car seat. He continued to hum the lullaby. Connor was fast asleep. Wesley turned on the vehicle and drove out of L.A.
He returned to Sunnydale.
A group of demons attacked Sunnydale during Willow's spell. Xander and Anya watched Willow perform the spell in fear. Deep cuts appeared on her arms and a snake came out of her mouth. Bright red swirls of lights engulfed Willow as she cast the spell. There was an urn that was right in front of Willow on the ground.
"Osiris! Here lies the warrior of the people!" Willow chanted. "Let her cross over!"
The Buffybot led the demons straight to Willow. The bikes were loud and Anya grew more afraid. One of the motorcycles drove right in front of Willow and shattered the urn.
"No!" Willow shouted and collapsed.
"Willow, I need service!" The Buffybot yelled.
The demon horde went after the Buffybot and the Scoobies escaped. They left Buffy at her grave.
Dawn and Spike were alone at the house while all this went down. Spike heard screaming from outside and he looked out the window. Dawn followed him and he tried to push her away.
"What is it?" Dawn asked.
"Road pirates." Spike replied. "They attack any place they think is vulnerable."
"They know," Dawn said. "They know The Slayer is gone."
"Keep away from the windows." Spike insisted.
Spike saw that the demons had motorcycles. He needed to protect Dawn and get out of here. He saw an opportunity. Dawn followed him outside and Spike attacked one of the demons and obtained a motorcycle.
"Let's fly pigeon!" Spike yelled.
Anya, Xander, and Willow ran from the demon horde. Meanwhile, Tara woke up at the Magic Shop. She was confused as to what had happened. Why did she fall asleep? Tara heard knocking at the front door and ran to the door. It was her friends. Tara let them inside and looked at Willow. Willow looked defeated and exhausted. Xander escorted Willow to the table and helped her to a chair. Willow winced and gathered herself.
"Oh my God, what happened to her?!" Tara asked, immediately worried.
"We did a spell." Anya said flatly.
"What?!" Tara yelled. "What kind of spell?"
"It was all for nothing." Willow said, defeated. "The urn is defiled."
"What urn?" Tara insisted. "What spell? What did you guys do?"
"We tried to bring Buffy back." Xander replied.
Buffy gasped for air and scratched at her coffin. She finally tore it to pieces and crawled out of the dirt. She walked around town, saw all the damage. She was confused and blurry. Buffy wondered where she was. Everything looked different. She wasn't in Heaven anymore.
When Wesley arrived in Sunnydale, he found it in chaos. Demons tore the town apart. He thought that this was going to be a safe place for Connor, but he was wrong. Fire was everywhere. Houses were broken into and people screamed. Trash littered the streets.
Spike and Dawn found the Buffybot. Dawn listened carefully to what the Buffybot was trying to say. Something about the other Buffy? Dawn was confused. What other Buffy? Then it hit her. She was talking about the real Buffy.
Dawn went after Buffy. She knew what the Buffybot was talking about. It struck in her heart. Buffy Summers was back. She didn't know how or why, but she knew her sister was back. She knew where to go. Dawn went to the place her sister was when she died.
Spike looked for Dawn in the places that he thought she would seek shelter. Wesley parked his vehicle. He needed to check on Connor. He found an area that wasn't plagued with demons.
"Dawn!" Spike yelled. "Dawn, are you there?!"
Wesley checked in on Connor when he had a strange feeling. He looked around and saw that he was being cornered. Demons were surrounding him. Spike was searching for Dawn when he saw a man with a baby. The demons were after them both. There were four. Wesley went into attack mode.
Spike charged after the demons and helped this man, not knowing who he was. Wesley and Spike fought together and kept Connor safe. Wesley had a feeling he knew who this man was that fought with him. They defeated the last demon and Wesley turned to him.
"Who are you?" Wesley asked.
"Just your friendly neighborhood vampire." Spike spat.
"Bleached hair, black trench coat, bad attitude." Wesley deduced. "You must be Spike."
"Points for effort." Spike said. "Who the hell are you?"
"My name is Wesley Wyndam-Pryce." Wesley said and turned to him. "I used to be a Watcher." Connor started to cry. Wesley walked over to the car and cradled him in his arms.
"Who's the kid?" Spike asked.
"This is Connor," Wesley introduced. "He is Angel's son."
Spike stared at him, in disbelief. Vampires can't have children. How the hell did Angel have a son? So many questions went through his mind. First, he needed to find Dawn. That was still a priority. Wesley calmed Connor down and then it hit him, he had an idea. What if Spike took care of Connor? There was no way that Angel was going to look in his direction. Wesley turned to Spike and said,
"Here, you take him."
"What?" Spike asked and held his hands up in defense. "No way man."
"Spike, you can keep him safe." Wesley insisted. "Angel will have no idea that you have Connor. It'll be safe for him. Please, take him!"
Spike lowered his hands and took Connor. "What do I do?"
"Take him to your place." Wesley said. "He'll need supplies." Wesley grabbed the diaper bag out of the car and handed it to Spike. "This will last you a few days."
"I don't know if I can do this." Spike said.
"Please Spike," Wesley begged. "He'll be safe with you."
Spike looked at Wesley and noticed that he was actually begging. He sighed and thought of Dawn. She would be safe with the others. It looked like he had a new job. Spike nodded and took Connor somewhere safe.
Meanwhile, at the Magic Shop, the group was tearing into each other. Tara was angry that Willow cast such a spell without including her. Willow was defending herself. Xander was defending Willow. It was a mess. Tara was just so hurt that Willow didn't tell her about the resurrection spell.
Why would Willow keep that a secret from me? Tara wondered. Why would they all keep it a secret from me? She was extremely upset. Tears formed in her eyes, but she held them back. Tara didn't want them to see her cry. Not now. Not with all this chaos.
"How could you not tell me?" Tara demanded.
Willow shook her head. "Not now. Has anyone tried Dawn and Spike?"
Tara nodded. "I've been trying the house all night, but I got nothing."
"We have to go back out there and look for them." Willow said.
"You want us to go back out there?" Anya asked.
"We have to. We need to find Dawn and Spike." Willow told her.
Xander, Anya, Willow, and Tara grabbed some weapons. They headed back out into the battlefield. They thought that the Buffybot appeared to them, but they realized it was the real Buffy. She was in her funeral clothes and dirty. The demon horde found the Scoobies and attacked them. Buffy fought like the old days and the group used their weapons as well. Buffy snapped necks and stabbed the demons.
Their corpses fell to the ground.
Buffy ran off and the gang defended themselves when the leader attacked them. Dawn found demons dead. She knew in her heart that her sister was back. She went to the last place where her sister died. The tower. Buffy rushed to the top of the tower and stepped close to the edge. Dawn chased after her and climbed to the top. She found her sister.
"Buffy?" Dawn asked.
Dawn begged her sister not to jump. Buffy turned around and asked,
"Is this hell?"
Dawn shook her head. "Buffy no, you're here. With me."
The tower started to collapse and Buffy found a way down, with Dawn. Buffy and Dawn walked home. They stood at the house and Dawn said,
"See?" Dawn paused. "You're home now."
Author's Notes: This was a tough project, but I think I got it done! This is like season 6, but with a twist. All reviews are welcome!
