Frederick touched the side of the ship. This was his ship, brand new, nobody had ever sailed in it before. Perhaps the ghosts would stay away now.

He looked around as the crew got everything ready. It was a beautiful morning. He knew he would be fine, regardless. There would be plenty to do, and he would keep busy.

"Captain?" his lieutenant asked, snapping Frederick from his reverie.

"Yes?"

"Would you like to inspect the crew?"

"Yes, of course, thank you, Lieutenant."

Frederick watched as the young crew assembled. He wasn't much older, but that was how it worked out.
