A.N. Hello! Why am I starting things when I have so many projects? Cause I can. Also, I have been reading W. Huntress's Prismatic and it's awesome, so I have been thinking more about Sailor Moon stuff. (Also, we're longtime friends, so we also have been talking about it too.) These are just pieces that relate to potential I feel was squandered in the anime. I read very little of the manga, so it may be better there, but manga is expensive. I do not own Sailor Moon.

Sagging against the wall, blue eyes falling on the test grade with tears stinging the corners. She could stand up and save the world, rescue her future daughter, save the future at the same time as the present, and defend the planet as a sailor soldier… yet she was still terrified of her mother's wrath. Sighing, she tucked the test away in her bag and started down the street.

"You sure look down, Usagi-chan." A familiar tall woman with short dark green hair and eyes to match stood near the crosswalk, arms full of groceries.

Startling, the blonde blinked and then beamed. "Petz! I almost didn't notice you. I was just moping a little, but I'm okay. How are you? Are you and the others settling in well? I haven't seen you in a few weeks."

"We're doing alright. Getting used to this world. Men are still just as completely irritating," Petz murmured, eyes narrowing for a moment before softening again. "Would you like to come over? Koan is busy with her new job, Berthier is tutoring at cram school, and Calaveras is on a date, so I could use the company."

"Oh…" Biting her lip, Usagi considered the earful she was bound to get and then nodded. "Yes, that sounds like fun! Do you need help carrying anything?"

Smiling a little, Petz handed over one bag. "Here. Thank you. I am starting to experiment with some of the cuisine here. Hope you don't mind being a guinea pig for my curry."

"I love to eat!" Usagi chirped brightly, her stomach growling in agreement and causing a red tint to spread across her cheeks.

"That's good to hear!" Leading the way across the road, Petz shifted a little closer to Usagi when they passed a group. "So, do you like your curries spicy or mild?"

"Not too spicy, but I like things flavorful. I can't cook to save my life though, so I eat whatever anyone is nice enough to make me though." Usagi looked down a bit at that, but brightened by the end. "How about you? Do you have any new favorite foods since settling in?"

Frowning a little, Petz stopped at an apartment building and put in a code before opening the door. "Well, I am sure you could learn. I'm still new to cooking myself. As for favorites, I have been really enjoying the dumplings, though I haven't gotten very good at making them yet."

Grabbing the door with her free hand, Usagi held it for her friend once it was unlocked, following in sideways with her bag. "Eh, everytime I try, Mama winds up banning me from the kitchen again anyway." She hardly blamed her either, with how much food she had wasted and how clumsy she was.

"Well, you'll never learn that way." Petz led her up a flight of stairs and then walked down the hall, fishing for a key one-handed until her blonde friend took her bags. "Ah, thank you."

Usagi slipped her shoes off beside Petz and carried the bags to the counter, glancing around at the cozy apartment. There was still a little freshly moved in feeling but with the beginning splashes of the four unique sisters coming through in the furniture and wall art. "You have a lovely home."

"Thank you, Usagi-chan." She started to unpack the groceries. "Why don't you settle down on the sofa. I'll get you a snack and then we can talk while I cook."

Obeying her former enemy, the blonde settled in on the light blue sofa, thinking Berthier had likely picked it out, though the purple throw across the back and the accent pillows to match screamed Koan to her. The little black coffee table had a bowl of fake gems that glittered in the low light from the sun streaming through the window. "I like that you're all kind of making it your own."

Petz set down a cup of tea and some sliced apple for her and nodded. "We're trying. I'm glad to have my sisters. This place would feel very foreign and lonely if I didn't. I admire that Koan managed to be the first of us to decide. She couldn't have known we would all eventually follow."

Chiming her appreciation politely, Usagi nodded and took a slice of apple. "I'm just glad you all came over. I hate it when good people get all twisted up and hurt by manipulation." She watched the tea cool with a far off look on her face for a moment. "Not everyone we fought could be convinced, or saved even if they could be."

Touching the younger girl's shoulder lightly, she nodded. "I will always be grateful that you even tried."

Looking up at her, Usagi nodded immediately, shocked for a moment that she might have ever considered not doing so. "Of course." Watching Petz move back to the kitchen, she smiled a little. "So, you said Berthier is tutoring, Calaveras is a date and Koan is working–Where is she working? And what about you? Have you found somewhere you want to work?"

"Koan is working at a hotel as a lounge psychic. She still has a touch of the gift and it works well with her personality. I am actually not fully there yet. I'm mainly taking care of the house and learning about the world a bit. I earn a little bit from doing shopping and errands for the old woman who lives upstairs though. Calaveras isn't really working right now. But she has her ways." Petz looked a little troubled then, though not judgemental as she washed her rice and then put it into the rice cooker.

Polishing off her apples quickly, Usagi moved to sit on a stool beside the little island bar that separated the living room and kitchen, taking her tea. "Well, they're lucky to have you to take care of them."

Rinsing her vegetables and patting them dry, Petz smiled at her. "You're sweet to say that. So, why were you moping earlier?" She placed the items on the cutting board and began to make quick work of them.

Deflating a little, Usagi sipped her tea. "I failed a test. It's not a major problem like doing Sailor Moon stuff, but… My mom is going to kill me." She looked down into the cup, biting her lip. "Sorry, you don't wanna hear all that silly teenage drama stuff!" She forced a smile and looked up at her.

"Well, I asked, didn't I? Now, I am sure Berthier could help tutor you if that helps, but I can't imagine trying to do what you do as a sailor soldier and maintain things. Being human seems difficult to me." Petz used the knife to push her vegetables into the pot that was already bubbling with a little water and some spices diffusing from a season package.

Swallowing thickly, Usagi sipped her tea and got teary eyed. "Ami has tried and I always fail anyway and it was bad before I was Sailor Moon-" She felt so stupid and silly in the moment, her hands shaking a little.

Petz washed her hands and dried them before walking over and grasping her shoulder gently. "Hey, stop. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you will again. And like I said, being human seems difficult all on its own."

"Thank you." At that moment, Usagi felt a little better. Maybe things would be alright.
