Chapter 41

Okay now back to the regularly scheduled shenanigans. Also if any of you wanted to read that previous story, the first 2 chapters are up on AO3. Along with another story I wrote just for that site. Back to now though, after this film….. I'll do Kung Fu Panda 3. I've just been putting it off because I'm not a big fan of the KFP3. But with KFP4 coming soon, I should get it done. On with the show.

"So what do you think is next for Aizawa? Or Valiant I guess is his name. Snapping some dirty pictures of Nezu and Midnight? Not sure I want to see that. I mean…. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing more of, I guess she's Nemuri Rabbit here. Oh, I must agree~. I'd personally love to spend some time with my doppelganger~!"

Midnight said before licking her lips in imagination of what she could do with her counterpart. 'Especially if what All Might said about not being able to hurt a Toon is true~. That could lead to quite a bit of fun~!' Before her thoughts could go further, the screen lit up to show the backstage of the Ink and Paint Club.

After shaking out of his shock at seeing Nemuri Rabbit, Valiant made his way backstage. Where he also saw Nezu Acme. The gag king had flowers and was knocking on her dressing room door. "Nemuri dear, have no fear! Your Nezu is here!" he said in an ecstatic tone as she let him in the room.

"That is so uncomfortably wrong I'm not sure where to begin!" Nezu said while being uneasy about the situation before him. Midnight was flat faced herself and unsure of how she felt about the matter as well. While Aizawa was just a bit worried about what his counterpart would likely be taking pictures of.

Shota snuck over to the door and peeked in the keyhole. But a tap on the shoulder said he wasn't going to be staying there. "What do you think you're doing, chump?!" the gorilla bouncer said. And all the PI could respond with was to call him a chimp. Thus he was tossed out into the alley.

Kaminari hummed before saying, "think that would count as discrimination?" Shoji spoke up and noted, "yes and no? Maybe? Mostly because it is relatively accurate in this situation. But he is saying it in an insulting manner."

After the gorilla tells Shorty that he better not catch him around there again, the detective responds with an "oogga booga!" and mocking ape movements. However, this is a golden opportunity for him. As there was a window into Nemuri Rabbit's dressing room in the alley.

Mineta snorts before saying, "well that's convenient. Too bad it's never like that anywhere else." Aizawa raised an eyebrow at that before admitting it was likely for these exact reasons it's no longer convenient. "The first one who might get caught ends up getting others down the road in trouble."

He gets a milk carton to stand on and makes sure the camera is ready while listening to the human and toon talk. The conversation seems to turn a bit steamy before the clapping of skin on skin is heard. And it grows faster as Valiant keeps looking in and taking pictures. "You gotta be kidding me," he says with a tilt of his head.

Several spit takes are fired off and Eri's eyes and ears are covered while the rest of the audience's imaginations run wild. "Well if that doesn't confirm what's going on, maybe the pictures will!" Tsubara said before his nose started bleeding heavily. Imagining what the Toon version of Midnight might be getting up to. While their Midnight was blanching a bit at the thought of what she was a part of.

The scene then cuts to RK Maroon's office. Where Roger is beating his head against the window after being shown the pictures and told what was going on with his wife and Acme. "I don't believe it! Patty cake, patty cake! It's not true! Patty cake!" Roger shouts before beating his head against the desk.

"Take comfort son; you're not the first man who's wife played patty cake on him." Maroon said before handing Roger a handkerchief to dry his eyes. Rather than keep using his ears. He blew his nose a few times while crying before saying, "I just don't believe it. I won't believe it! I can't believe it! I shant believe it." The last piece said while tossing a hand dramatically beside his head.

All perverted thoughts came to an abrupt and almost painfully screeching halt as Roger started reciting what Valiant had taken pictures of. The stop was short enough, that the whole of the audience face faulted hard enough to shake the 1-A dorm.

"Of all the…. Seriously?! I'm with Valiant now, you gotta be kidding me! Maybe it's something like a culture difference? So what, patty cake to Toons is basically second and third base? Well they were generally more geared towards children. Maybe it's that kind of scenario."

While most of the audience was voicing these kinds of thoughts, Mic had a different one. "Yeah that isn't helpful in trying to console someone. The other me is making that painfully clear," he says while picking up his sunglasses. Midnight though was a bit happier that her counterpart had not actually been cheating sexually with her boss's counterpart. 'Though the difference in culture might make it seem similar,' she thought with unease.

Shorty bluntly confirms it shows the rabbit the pictures he took. Each one making Roger more irate. "Nemuri is the light of my life. The apple of my eye! The cream in my coffee!" Roger says with a few sniffles. Valiant preps a drink before saying, "Better start taking it black, cause Acme's taking the cream now."

This gets a few snorts of laughter from the audience with Mineta saying, "given the size of those milkers of hers, she's probably got plenty to spare." Jiro seems ready to give him a Heartbeat Fuzz hit to the ears, but she stops short. Blushing and silently agreeing with the pervert while her nose bled a little.

"Hard to believe. Nezu Acme's been my friend and neighbor for thirty years. Who would have thought he was a sugar daddy." Maroon says while looking out over the lot and closing the blinds. "Somebody musta made her do it." Roger tries to rationalize before being given a drink by RK.

Nemuri seems ashamed for her counterpart and the pain she is clearly causing her spouse. "I'm not sure there's a good way to rationalize the matter to him. He is too upset." Mic says with some worry about his counterpart. All Might hums before saying, "yeah and I'm pretty sure whatever is in that drink isn't going to help either."

As soon as he downs it, one eye bugs out. He starts shifting colors and twitching. Blubbering a bit as his body turns red. And then he rockets up in the air and lets out a loud and high-pitched whistle scream. Looking like a train whistle and shattering multiple pieces of glass.

Everyone was surprised by how Roger was reacting to the liquor at first, and when he started whistling many needed to cover their ears. Setsuna lending a few of her detached digits to plug Mirio's as he was protecting Eri's ears. As it was fading, the little girl asked, "is that why it's not a good idea to drink alcahal?" The adults shared looks before Mirio said, "yeah. That is one good reason. It makes you do things like that."

Once he was done, he collapses back on the desk and says, "thanks. I needed that." This shocked Shorty as he was holding one of the glass bottles that shattered. "Son of a bitch. Listen Maroon. I think my work here is finished. How 'bout that carrot you owed me huh?" he said while shaking off some of the liquid. Maroon nods and pulls out the check for the remaining fifty he owed Valiant. "A deal's a deal."

"I'm not really sure your counterpart is going to be that helpful here." Nezu said with some concern about what might happen next to Aizawa. Who agrees with, "yeah it's clear he just wants to be done with all of this. But that won't really help Rabbit-san. It might just make him angrier."

As Roger was pulling his head up a bit, Maroon tries to bring up his spirits. Valiant putting in a slightly snarky comment about "dames" breaking his door down. But this just angers the Toon. "Dames?! What dames?! Nemuri is the only one for me! You'll see! We'll rise above this tiddling picadillo! We're gonna be happy again! Got that!? Capital HAPPI!" Roger says while gripping Valiant's coat and pushing him onto the desk. Before sprinting out the window and blinds. Leaving a cutout of him in his wake.

Eyes were wide at how Roger reacted to Valiant and Maroon's attempts at helping him. "Okay respect some of his loyalty to his wife, but now I'm even more concerned." Midnight said while following the after shock of the Toon's exit.

"At least he took it well." Shota says as the blinds break. Cut to Roger who is walking by the Acme factory and warehouse. Crying as he is dejectedly walking across the street. Pulling out his wallet while sitting on some boxes and looking at photos of him and his wife. "Nemuri. Please tell me it's not true. Puh-puh-puh-please!" he says with tears in his eyes.

After seeing how this affected Roger, Nemuri herself felt a pit of shame in her stomach. Looking down and hoping Roger could rise out of the nightmare he found himself in. She uttered a quiet "I'm sorry" as the scene played. The teens watching meanwhile were concerned themselves about what Roger might do since he was at the Acme factory. "I hope he doesn't do something….. excessive." Ida said while thinking about his own foray into revenge.

The scene then cuts to Shorty going back to his office. Hanging his hat on a Maltese Falcon before taking down the photos he took with Emi's camera. Some of which included the last time he and her went to the beach. Enjoying the memories. At least until he came on a picture of him and his brother: Oboro Valiant.

Mina and Toru were entertained by the images of a ship they like sailing. "Even if it's in another dimension." Mina says with a chuckle to Setsuna. Aizawa himself was blushing and trying to pretend he didn't see what was going on. And that grew as the image showed his old friend as his brother. "Shirakumo," he whispered out while looking at the PI version of his friend.

He looked over at his brother's desk, covered in his old tools and gear just like he'd left it. Though now it was covered in a layer of dust and cobwebs. The shot the pans around to show a variety of things. Starting with news stories of the pair as they were starting their firm. Then cases involving them saving the kidnapped nephews of Donald Duck, clearing Goofy of charges of espionage, their time one the police force (goofing around at bit as clowns), and lastly a picture of them with their father when they were children. Their father being a circus clown who taught them how to have fun too. Before shifting to the picture of their first days opening the agency.

Thoughts and emotions were shifting with each new frame shown. At first, most of the teens and heroes felt sorry for the detective and who he had lost. Then the thoughts shifted to admiration for the good work they did in helping so many Toons when they were in trouble. With a shift towards joy at seeing the pair of brothers goofing around and having a history of clowning. "Too bad this one seems more dour than ours." Asui says before sipping her drink. And then a bit of sad looks again at the previously happy faces of Shota Valiant with his brother and Emi. Aizawa himself shedding a little tear at the thought of what could have been and what was lost. 'Both there, and here, old friend.'

By the time that part of the shot is up, it is morning. And Shorty is sleeping at his desk with an empty bottle of whiskey next to him. His rest is interrupted when a detective comes in and pulls the bottle away. And loudly dumps it in the trash can. He laughs a little though before saying, "Lieutenant Toshinori Santino."

All Might coughs while choking on a snack before saying, "so what? Did I used to be his boss or something?" Aizawa freezes at that disturbing thought and prayed it wasn't the case. Nezu meanwhile believed he might have just asked for their help with certain Toon cases. "Though what is he doing there now I wonder?"

The man in question was smoking and looking at Valiant with some worry. "Gee whiz Shorty, if you needed money why didn't you come to me?" he asked while looking at the pictures he took of Acme and Nemuri. Shota just gets his little bottle of whiskey before saying, "so I took a couple of dirty pictures. So, kill me"

"I've already got a stiff on my hands thank you!" Toshinori says with some annoyance. Valiant looks at him funny before the officer explains. "Nezu Acme. The rabbit cacked him last night."

This time it was Nezu's turn to freeze. And that even including shivering at the idea of his counterpart being dead. "Holy shit I didn't think I'd go quite that far!" Mic said with his glasses askew. Midnight meanwhile felt sick to her stomach at what counterpart might have pushed her partner to.

Shorty is brought to the warehouse with other officers swarming the premise. Shota though takes a moment and notices Toon Town in the distance. Before seeing Yosemite Sam rocketing in with his backside on fire. Finally putting it out by sitting down in a puddle of water.

The tense moment is broken up by the Toon cowboy's arrival and everyone has a laugh at him trying to put out the fire on his butt. "Hey do you think anybody with a fire quirk has ever had that kind of problem?" Kirishima thinks aloud before looking at Todoroki. Who just shrugged and admitted he wasn't sure himself.

"C'mon Shorty, let's get this over with." Santino said while tossing his cigarette away. In the warehouse, the outline of Acme is seen. With a safe where the head would be. "Just like a Toon to drop a safe on a guy's head. Oh, sorry Shorty." Toshinori said and then apologized for when he realized he put his foot in his mouth.

Toshinori winces after hearing what his counterpart said and apologized to Aizawa as well. "It's…. not exactly fine, but I think both versions of me know you did not mean it. You were just pointing out the ridiculousness of the scenario and how it fits for Toons," the insomniac says while looking off to the side.

The officer asked him to wait there while he talked with a few officers. While he went to talk with Nemuri Rabbit in the office above the warehouse. The officers meanwhile were goofing around with the various gags in the warehouse. Attachable holes, toon dynamite, a wooden mallet with a hidden boxing glove etc.

Izuku hummed at seeing some of the various gags and noted that they could be useful in fights. "Well not the dynamite, but that attachable hole could be useful in infiltrating certain locations. And the mallet would be a very effective weapon. Not to mention mumble…"

A few sweat dropped at Izuku devolving into mumbling and analysis. Momo and Ida meanwhile were trying to ignore the crazy aspects of said items. "What did Ashido say? Just turn my brain off?" Momo thought aloud before shaking her head.

"Didn't you used to be Shorty Valiant? Or did you change your name to Jack Daniels?" the officer who messed with the mallet asked with laughs from his fellow officers. Valiant glared angrily before looking at the safe that killed Acme. Noticing paint on the rope that held it aloft at one point. One that the officer said was from Roger's glove.

Mic, Midnight, and Eraser snarled slightly at the officers mocking Valiant. While Nezu and All Might facepalmed at the unprofessional manner of the officers. Before the former hummed at the paint being from Roger's glove. "How would they know that? It's not as if they have the same kind of technology to analyze the paint to be sure," he said before going into a quiet mumble spree of his own. Partially questioning if this was just more akin to racial profiling or if there was something else.

"Mr. Valiant?" Shota hears behind himself. And standing there was Nemuri Rabbit in, a less sparkly, but still form fitting red dress with purple gloves. She proceeds to slap Valiant across the face and angrily says, "I hope you're proud of yourself! And those pictures you took!" She storms off, her hips still swaying as she walks away.

"Not so sure it's all his fault honey. You had plenty to do with this matter." Midnight says with a raised eyebrow. Though she was slightly distracted by her counterpart leaving the warehouse. And many of the others in the audience were of the same mind.

As the officers were removing the body of Acme, one of them knocked over a crate full of Toon shoes. The other moving the body fell and Acme's hand tossed out the same Joy buzzer he used on Shorty a few nights ago. The PI went to pick it up but was stopped by the sharp cane of a new arrival.

Snort of laughter were had at the Toon shoes marching around or generally doing goofy antics. But it was cut a little short by Acme's dropped Joy buzzer. Nezu himself looking down sadly and wishing he could have met his counterpart. 'He seems like someone who could come up with some fun ways to do things.' Nezu thinks with a small smile. While also hoping to dissuade him from pursuing Nemuri Rabbit.

He looked up and saw a man with black clothes and glasses glaring down at him. "Is this man removing evidence from the scene of a crime?!" he demanded to know and Toshinori had to cover for Valiant. "Ah no Judge Doom, Valiant here was just picking it up for you. Weren't you Shorty?" Santino said with a slightly pointed look.

Everyone shivered at the appearance of Judge Doom and felt intimidated. Even when he had done little to justify it. "It seems like I know about who he is. Though I worry what he may tell me to do." All Might says with a gulp.

"Sure." Shota says before giving the Judge a good shock. "His number one seller," the PI says with some suspicion thrown the politician's way. Who gives him a snide smile and noted that working for a Toon rubbed off on him. "I wasn't working for a Toon. I was working for RK Maroon." Shota clarifies.

The teens have a laugh at the dark and brooding judge getting a Joy buzzer shock. Aizawa smirks a little at him getting one over on Judge Doom. "But I should really be careful. That guy might be able to pull my license," he noted with an uneasy chuckle.

The Judge acknowledges this and noted how Roger became "quite agitated" when he was shown those pictures Valiant had taken. "The rabbit said one way or another he and his wife were going to be happy. Is that true?" he dark cloaked man said.

Mic grunts and says, "oh crap. That's not good. Using my words against me." Midnight gives him a side glance before saying, "if he's a judge, of course he'd know how to turn your words against you." As Mic starts to snipe back, Aizawa snorts a little before saying, "you two are arguing like a married couple." While this quickly shuts up the pair, but the shipping nuts of the teens have a little fun imagining the pair. "I mean… maybe?" Toru says with an unseen smile.

Shota gives him a flat look before saying, "hey pal. Do I look like a sonographer?" Santino groans before telling Valiant the man was an elected judge. "That's alright Lieutenant. From the smell of him I'd say it was the booze talking." Doom said with a slight shaking of his face. Which makes Shorty even more uncomfortable.

This time it's Aizawa who winces and groans about his counterpart. "Yeah that's not surprising. Though something is off about this guy." Bakugo says without exploding. Which shocks most of 1-A but they don't comment too loudly. "No reason to break up the calm." Kaminari whispers to Kirishima.

He then said that Roger wouldn't get far as his Toon weasels would find him. Who burst in and tell the judge they had informants looking for him all over the city. When asked if Valiant had an idea on where the fugitive Toon could be, the detective just gave him sarcastic answers. "I'm surprised you aren't more cooperative Mr. Valiant. A human has been murdered by a Toon. Don't you appreciate the magnitude of that?!"

"Not helping." Aizawa and Mic say at the same time. The former more in annoyance at his other self. The latter was concerned that his counterpart could get into more trouble if Valiant kept being obstinate. Nezu had to agree and found himself concerned about the situation regarding the murder of Acme.

While he had been talking about this, one of the shoes from earlier was rubbing against Doom's leg. "Since I've had Toon Town under my jurisdiction, my goal has been to reign in the insanity and the only way to do that is to make Toons respect the law!" he says while putting on a long rubber glove. He then catches the shoe as it tries to run and takes it to the back of the weasel's van.

A few teens gulped at the way Doom phrased "respect the law" and Jurota said, "that feels like something who either hates quirks or wants to control their possibilities would say." Nezu agreed with the young man before noting, "to an extent that is what we heroes are supposed to do. Reign in chaos. But there is some clear difference to what he has in mind."

Toshinori explained that Doom bought his position with a large amount of money a few years ago before talking about the drum inside the van. "Remember how we always thought there wasn't a way to kill a Toon? Well Doom found a way. Turpentine, acetone, and benzine. He calls it the Dip."

All Might's eyes go wide and he says, "he's going to dissolve it to make a point!" Everyone looked at him in shock before Izuku asked if, he was sure. Mirio covered Eri's eyes while Nejire got her ears. "I've seen some do similar with certain villains. To keep their men in line, he might make an example of one of them." All Might says while thinking back on some of the villains he's fought.

"I'll catch the rabbit Mr. Valiant. And I'll try him. Convict him. And execute him." Doom explains before making his point. By dipping the shoe into the mixture. Clearly causing pain as it is burned away within the mixture. Toshinori has to turn back because of how disturbing the sight is. While Shota is shocked and disgusted. As the smoke from the Toon billows, Doom turns around and says, "they're not kid gloves Mr. Valiant. This is how we handle things down in Toon Town. I think you of all people would appreciate that."

The whole of the audience is terrified as they see some of what happens to the Toon. Mina looking at her own hands and shivering at the possibility that she could do similar with her quirk. While a few of the others looked sick to their stomachs at what type of "justice" Doom was enacting. "This isn't about reigning in anything. He just wants to keep the Toons down and intimidate them." Nezu says with a gritting of his teeth.

Shota shakes off the shock on his way back to his office. Once there, he spots a woman with very long legs and a shapely behind next to a baby carriage. He looks at her funny before she stands up with a lighter in hand. And then leans down to the carriage with it lit.

Much like Valiant, most of the audience needed a moment to gather themselves after the scene with the Dip. But as the next scene unfolded, Ida was quite unsettled and angry at what might be going on with the baby carriage.

"Hey! Wait a minute! Hey! HEY!" Valiant shouts before running over. And when he gets there, he sees Baby Mineta smoking a cigar. "I've been trying to make him quit, but he just won't listen to me," the woman says with a little shake of her head. The Toon rolls his eyes before saying, "What do you know you dumb broad? You got the IQ of a rattle."

Various glares of anger are shot at the Toon baby, and by extension his counterpart. Who is currently sweating enough to think Todoroki had his fire side turned all the way up. 'I'm so dead,' he thought as the screen plays.

"You Valiant?" he asks then explained he wanted to talk about the Acme murder. "Hey doll? Why don't you run downstairs and get me a racing form?" he asks before smacking her backside. And she heads off with some annoyance.

It didn't seem possible but the glares grew more intense and Mineta was sweating even more than before. Kaminari though noted that even if he was being a creep or perv; "he's still getting or got the lady there. Though I gotta wonder how well that serves him in bed."

Valiant side eyes all of this before saying, "a ladies man, eh?" Baby Mineta taps off the end of his cigar before admitting, "my problem is I got a 50-year-old lost in 3-year-old dinky." The PI has a sarcastic smile inside before saying it "must be tough".

The girls all have a bit of a cruel chuckle at how Baby Mineta described his situation. And their Mineta quietly muttered, "okay I don't have that problem perse, but still." Bakugo and Kamakiri though have some mocking laughs at his expense as the scene continues. "I suppose that's a side effect of being a Toon. They can only be as old as they are drawn." Midnight says before having a moment where she does wish for that. 'If only so I could stay as hot as I am now.'

"Look Valiant. The rabbit didn't kill Acme. He's not a murderer. I should know. He's a dear friend of mine. I tell you Valiant: the whole thing stinks like yesterday's diapers. Look at this!" Mineta says before bringing out the paper. He noted that it mentioned Acme had no will, but he knows it's wrong. Saying, "every Toon knows he had a will. He promised to leave Toon Town to us Toons! That will is the reason he was bumped off.

Nezu, Izuku, Mineta, and a few other contemplative students' eyes went wide at hearing that. Even Momo was forced to pull back from her hate for the Toon for a moment. "If he's right, then….. wouldn't that mean Roger was framed? Possibly…. Even by his boss?!" Mineta questioned with a look towards Izuku and Nezu.

The latter of whom agreed and said, "I wouldn't rule it out, but I'm not going quite that far. But it does have some other implications. The least of which involve Nemuri Rabbit and my counterpart. Namely, that she might have been willing for a different reason."

Shorty isn't buying it though and asked if anyone had seen the will. "Uh no. But he gave us his solemn oath!" The PI doesn't think a "joker" like Acme could give anything solemn. "The gags on you pal," he says while turning the carriage around.

Nezu then winces and notes that he wasn't too surprised by that perspective. "Considering how he acted at the Ink and Paint Club, let alone the matters with Rabbit-san, I doubt he has much of a sterling view of me." Aizawa scratches his head before saying that his counterpart wasn't being entirely rational. "And maybe a bit vindictive."

Mineta's gaze turns irate as he noted that it was Valiant's fault Roger was in trouble. "I can pay you," the Toon offers. But it all just infuriates Shorty and he says, "save your money for a pair of elevator shoes!" And shoves the carriage down the hall into Mineta's floozie. Dropping his cigar and making him cry.

"Yeah, definitely vindictive. That wasn't really helpful." Mic said while watching how the PI treated his costar. Aizawa grunts and acknowledged that, "it's clear rationality has gone out the window. And probably right along with sobriety here soon."

Valiant sits at his desk with the paper showing the picture. He preps a drink before saying, "it ain't my fault the rabbit got himself in trouble." He downs the whiskey and slips out his shoulder holster while commenting about just taking some pictures. However, something in the glass he sat down, showed him a clue in said picture.

Midnight snorts about Aizawa's prediction coming true. But the moment the detective stops, it gets everyone curious on what he had seen. With Nezu especially interested in what Shorty had found in the photo's he took.

He digs out his old magnifying glass to get a better look at one of his larger shots. And right there in Acme's pocket was the last will and testament of the gag king. "The baby was right!" he said with some surprise.

Mineta had a large smile seeing and hearing that. Mic meanwhile saw this as possibility that his Toon self really had been framed. "If they needed a scapegoat, who better than a hurting husband right?" he said with a look to Midnight. Who gave him flat look before saying, "why do you think I would know?"

Shorty considers the case for a moment. Thinking that maybe Roger had been set up. But quickly shakes it off and wipes off his face before pulling down a set of drawers. Ones that turn into a bed. He lays back to get a little rest, but someone else is there. Roger Rabbit. And when the two realize there is more than one person there, they both scream. And the scene cuts to black.

"Aw come on! I want to see more!" All Might says while standing up and gesturing at the screen. It surprises everyone but the flickering of the TV shifts their thoughts. A young Izuku is seen training with a brown eyed red head with tan skin. The man is wearing a jumpsuit and practicing kung fu before an alarm sound. "Agent Jackie Chan-Black. You are needed in the briefing room." The man smiles before asking if Izuku wanted to tag along.

A few jaws were slightly agape, but they dropped when they saw the next scene. Izuku is seen flying through the air and impacting face first on a large floating rock. With a man in all black behind him wincing. "Yeah, that figures. Well, at least you didn't break anything this time," he says while pulling Izuku out of the flying rock. Before anyone could question the turn of events, the screen lit up one last time.

Hatsume, Izuku, and Pony were running through New York City. But not the New York Pony knew. "It's like we've gone back in time!" she said while wincing about the pain in her feet.
