At the start of fifth year, Harry sits with Luna and Susan on the Hogwarts Express. When Ron and Hermione never turn up after the prefects meeting like they said they would, Harry cuts ties with them and Luna and Susan become his best friends. Having Susan and Luna as best friends leads to several different outcomes in fifth year.

Dear readers, favorers, and followers of Michael in Arizona:

Hello, everyone. Thank you to everyone who has supported my threads by reading, favoring, and following them. Retroactive to April 1st, 2024, all of my threads will be on hiatus through at least the end of May. There are multiple reasons for this but the main reason is very embarrassing. It has recently come to my attention that I have legitimately forgotten a lot of my own content. I have seen recent reviews on or PMs about my threads from various guests and members referencing certain things happening in certain chapters and have gone back to read said chapters to realize I had completely forgotten things that had happened in my stories. In some of my stories, I have been struggling recently with where to go next and part of the problem is how much I've forgotten of how much I've already written. I am taking a step back from adding new chapters to my threads and I am going to take some time over the next month and a half or so to thoroughly reread and refamiliarize myself with all of my own threads. Readers of each individual thread will be addressed below this general message:

Dear readers of Bonded Over Lossses:

First, I would like to thank everyone for the instant success of Bonded Over Losses at the time I first posted it. I have NEVER before had a thread gain favorers and followers as quickly in the first few days of its existence as this one did. I have more or less made up my mind that Harry, Susan, and Luna will remain an intimate trio but will not have close/significant friends apart from each other. I simply don't think them having other close friends besides each other fits the story of this fic very well. Hannah might be the best candidate eventually but that would require her mom to die as happened in canon and that might not happen if this fic plays out in certain ways. Dean might also be a candidate if he eventually learned the full story of his parents but that may not be likely as a fifth year. There's no question that a Harry-Susan-Luna trio can be very strongly bonded over losses. I will reread the existing chapters of this story before lifting my hiatus, but planning is the bigger thing for this particular story at this point. I do promise that I will NOT be like Darling Clementine but instead will be like Frosty the Snowman!
