"Over…under- no wait…" Crosshair continued to mutter as he battled with the needle. He was able to stitch the basic shape of the doll just fine, but the head was proving to be a bigger challenge than expected. The young clone folded his legs on his bed, leaning in to be more precise with where he was puncturing the dark fabric. Just as he was about to start on the first ear, the door to his side wooshed open, revealing Tech, whose head was buried in his holopad.

Crosshair tried to stuff the unfinished doll into his lap but some of the fabric was still showing. Tech looked up after a second and walked to the front of Crosshair's bed. Crosshair didn't make eye contact and his cheeks were red.

"Is that a tooka?" Tech asked, motioning to the "hidden" doll with his holopad, "Because if so, I think the ears should be a bit longer. They are elongated since they are vital to the feline's hunting behaviors."

Crosshair pulled out the doll and folded back the unfinished ears. "So? It's not for me."

"That was not relevant to what I said-"

"It's just that…Wrecker keeps tossing in his sleep and we all have to hear Hunter complain about how he's up all night because of him and I thought that if he had something to keep him company he'd be quieter." Crosshair quickly responded, still not looking directly at Tech.

"I agree, but it does seem out of place for you to do this instead of Hunter."

Crosshair scoffed, "Well Hunter's always too busy training or goofing off with Wrecker. I'm sure he would if he had the time to."

Tech tilted his head. "But we all have designated free time. Ours is right now."

"Look, are you just here to bother me?" Crosshair asked, rolling his eyes.

"No, I just came in to find a quieter place for this," Tech waved the holopad, "But now I think I'd rather spend my time with this project." he said before jumping onto the mattress and putting down the holopad.

"Wha- why do you want to?" Crosshair scooted over a bit, begrudgingly.

"Well, I like this idea. Wrecker's need for physical affection may be clouding his body's ability to shut down for rest, and I agree that Hunter's been getting snippy as of late. Additionally, I think I could help with the stitching problem." Tech pointed to the head where white stuffing started to spill out.

Crosshair was about to respond with a hint of anger but swallowed it. He finally met Tech's eyes. "You can?"

"Yes. While our medical training only taught us how to make a continuous stitch, like the one you're using, I did some extra research on how to make more."

Crosshair sighed. "Of course you did."

"And I think a blanket stitch might be better for the ears and head. I agree that a continuous stitch could hold a regular doll together just fine, but this one will belong to Wrecker. It will need all the extra strength it can get." Tech smiled as Crosshair chuckled.

"Now, do you want me to teach you?"

Crosshair looked down at the doll and then at his brother. "Yeah, that would be nice."

The two continued experimenting with the extra fabric, trying to make the most of all the scraps. Crosshair was a quick learner, partially due to Tech's instructions being exceptionally detailed. Before long, the tooka doll was finished. Crosshair looked at his handiwork proudly and Tech shared a similar look of satisfaction.

Crosshair handed the doll to Tech, who put it on Wrecker's bed. It looked fluffy and slumped, but undeniably cute. Tech looked at it again, scratching his chin.

"Hm… we should probably make sure he knows it's his," he whispered, picking up a tiny piece of scratch paper and a pen left over from the experimenting stage. He was about to write "From Crosshair" on it, but Crosshair stopped him.

"Wait." Tech looked confused. Crosshair looked around for an excuse. "We…we should just give it a name instead. I think he'd like that more." Tech smiled and nodded.

"It should be meaningful, something to represent what it is." Tech pointed out.

"Should it sound like 'tooka'?" Crosshair asked.

"No… too obvious. And I'm not sure we should show it off either. Who knows what would happen if another clone found out he had this? Especially since they're always looking for reasons to mess with us." Tech said. Crosshair nodded in agreement.

"Actually… maybe we should call it that then. Something that means it's different, like us. It's a… little unauthorized lightweight accessory. But I don't think that quite rolls off the tongue…" Tech said, readjusting his goggles.

"Heh… yeah." Crosshair smirked as he took the pen from Tech and began to write on the paper. When he finished, he propped the tooka doll up so it could hold the note.

Tech smiled. "He's going to love it."

Crosshair tried to hide his own. "Yeah, I hope so."

"Ugh… when did Shaak Ti say we're done with stealth training again?" Wrecker whined from the back of the group. The other three batchers rolled their eyes.

"We'll get to the new stuff when we get to the new stuff," Hunter responded blankly.

"Aww c'mon Hunter, you wanna go to combat training too! We all do!" Wrecker said energetically.

"Keep it down, we're drawing enough attention as it is." Crosshair muttered.

Wrecker ignored him. "Can't you guys wait until we get to explosive training? We'll be dealing with real proton bombs!"

Tech sped up to be at Wrecker's side but remained half-fixed on his holopad. "Yes, well… you're technically right, but we won't be learning to activate them at our age, only deactivate. Besides, it's likely they won't be functional to begin with. They wouldn't risk a cadet causing an explosion on that scale."

"Wow, since when were you the downer? I thought that was Crosshair's job!" The clone in question grumbled.

"Would you guys just be a little quieter?" Hunter asked, rubbing his temples.

"Oh right I forgot you're still mad if anyone even breathes in their sleep now."

Hunter sighs. "It's not breathing, Wrecker, it sounds like you're slamming two B-1s into the wall the whole night."

The group reached their room and walked in, Wrecker being the last one.

"Well- well what do you want me to do about that? I can't help it!" Wrecker whined as he stepped inside. The others had settled into their own spots, Hunter being the only one to lay down instead of sitting up like Tech and Crosshair. Wrecker was about to do the same when something caught his eye and caused a double take.

"Wha-..." He silently walked over to the doll on his bed and picked it up, along with the note.

"Lula?" He read. A small chuckle escaped him and it quickly grew into a hearty laugh. Wrecker tossed Lula into the air carefully and caught it, nuzzling it into his face. "Lula!" He was smiling harder than the others had seen him. Hunter had looked around the edge of his bed to see what was going on.

"But who did this?" Wrecker asked, still smiling and laughing. "Tech?"

"It was not my idea." He responded, carefully choosing his words so he wouldn't lie.

"Yeah, I figured," Wrecker looked over to Hunter slyly, "It was obviously you."

"Me? I don't know where that thing came from! Honest!" Hunter looked genuinely confused.

Wrecker leaned in towards Hunter. "You sure?"

"Yes!"

Wrecker squinted. Hunter wasn't showing any signs of lying. "Hm… well if it wasn't you, then who was it? I know Crosshair doesn't have the heart to do it." He started laughing again.

Crosshair scoffed, "You got that right." He then laid down on his own bed. Wrecker, across from Crosshair, did the same.

"Well, goodnight boys!" He then leaned into Lula's ear, "And goodnight Lula." he whispered.

The night was calm. Wrecker fell asleep hugging Lula to his chest. Tech fell asleep without the holopad needing to tire him out first. Crosshair fell asleep with a small smile, sleeping on his side as he had taken one final look at his three brothers. Hunter fell asleep a bit later but was able to do so quite easily. He was smirking, knowing well whose scent was on Lula's when they had first entered the room.

I've been a fan of Clone Force 99 since their debut episode. They just had so much character, so much passion, and so much effort put into every scene they were in. I watched the show over and over again and it's one of the shows I got the most emotional about. The finale just aired yesterday, and WOW it was a masterpiece of art. Thank you to everyone who worked on the show, and to my friend, who introduced me to the Star Wars universe. I can't thank you enough.

This story, and all of my other ones (soon), will be added to AO3. The username can be found in my bio as soon as everything is ready. Thank you all SO MUCH for reading, and I'll see you in the next story!
