"It's okay, y/n. I'm here."
Tony holds you tight as you begin to weep in his arms. The positive pregnancy test falls from your grip unto the floor. The agony you feel growing in your chest is unbearable. Loki is dead? How is this possible? And now you just discovered that you are carrying his child. "Y/n…" Thor stood at the doorway of your bedroom. He glanced at the pregnancy test lying on the floor, then at Tony with a concerned look on his face. Tony slowly nodded. "Loki..?" asked Thor, almost choking. You turn to look up at Thor. "Yes." you whisper. Thor stares at you blankly for a few seconds, looks down at the floor, then turns to leave. You take a deep breath and pull yourself away to look at Tony. "Thank you." you sigh heavily, wiping your face. Tony squeezes your shoulders, "We're all here for you, y/n. We will do everything we can to make this as easy as possible for you." You force a smile as you start to tear up again. "Is there anything I can do for you right now?" he asked. You look up and out the window. It was a gloomy grey and the first raindrops have begun to fall. "No Tony, thank you. I-… I think just need some time to process everything and think." Tony nods and leaves your bedroom. Looking out the window once again, you slowly sink down unto your bed. You still couldn't believe that Loki was dead. The memories you had together began to flood into your memory. Tears rolling down your face, you grab one of your pillows and hugged it tightly. You catch a whiff of your lover's scent. A flash of lighting tears through the sky followed by rolling thunder. You glance down at the pregnancy test and stoop down to pick it up. Something didn't feel right. You were never told of a war Asgard was currently involved in. And how come Thor survived without a scratch? Suddenly, you felt the urge to know exactly what happen. You jerk up from your bed and run out of the room.
"Thor." you rush into the living area. Wanda and Nat were both on the couch. Bucky was leaning against the wall facing Steve and Tony who were standing near the window. Everyone looks up at you, worry and concern written across their faces. "Where's Thor?" you ask. Wanda rises from the couch and makes her way towards you. "He's in the kitchen. Y/n…" You see the tears in her eyes and reach out to hug her. "I'm so sorry." she whispered. "It's okay." you answer with a weak smile. Avoiding eye contact, you walk through the living room and slip into the kitchen to find Thor sitting at the drink bar, staring down at his empty glass. Hesitant, you approach him and take the seat next to him. "Thor?" He looks up at you with an odd expression on his face. A combination of grief and confusion. "Thor, where you there when Loki was killed?" Thor stared back down at his glass. "No." he said rather flatly. You continue to sense that something is off. "How… how was he killed?" you ask hugging yourself. Thor's expression twisted almost as if the question annoyed him. "I'm not sure." You sighed. You remember when you went to Asgard, Frigga had told you that if you ever needed anything, that you were always welcome to go back. It was your mother's home. It's your home too. "I would like to see your mother." you say quietly. Thor looks up at you anxiously. "This may not be a very good time-" You hold up your hand to stop him. "Asgard is my home too, and you know it, my friend." Thor sat up and sighed. "Please." you begged. There was a moment of silence. The rain was now pouring heavily. Thor threw his hands behind his back and paced the room, deep in thought. There was something he was not telling you. He wasn't grieving like he lost his brother. "Thor." you called abruptly. You walk over to make eye contact. "I feel like there's something you're not telling me." He unfolds his hands from behind his back and regains his full posture. "We will leave for Asgard tomorrow at dawn." With that, he rushed out of the room. You follow him out and stop in the doorway. He walks through the living room and disappears into the hallway. "Is everything alright, y/n?" Steve asks softly. "I don't know." you reply. "We are leaving for Asgard tomorrow at dawn. I need to get to the bottom of this." Nat frowns. "What do you mean?" You walk over to the couch to sit with Nat and Wanda. "There's something Thor isn't telling me. How come he got out of this supposed war without a scratch? How was he not there when Loki was killed? Why didn't they tell me that Asgard was at war at all?" Everyone exchanged glances. "I would say those are pretty valid questions. What are you hinting at?" Asked Bucky. You shrug. "I'm not sure what to think right now." Nat throws an arm around you and gives you a squeeze. "Whatever you do, please stay safe." You nod and make a small flame in the palm of your hand. You had practiced a lot and you could now pretty much control all of your elements. "I will, Nat. I learn more of my powers every day. Pretty soon, I think I should be able to look out for myself alright." You felt the warmth of you flame as a small comfort. Maybe there's hope. "Well even when you become a master of your powers, you will still be part of us, y/n. Were your family. We got each other's backs." Tony added. You smile and extinguish your flame. "I know, Tony. I really appreciate everything you've done for me." Tony gave a sad smile. "What are you going to do in Asgard?" Asked Buck. You take a deep breath. "I need to talk to Frigga. She might know something I don't." Steve approached you. "What if something happens to you? How would we know?" You look in the direct where Thor disappeared. "I trust Thor. If anything where to happen, he will tell you. Frigga would also protect me. Asgard is a safe place." You look up at Steve. "I will come back. I am promise."
