Adam was packing up his things as his phone kept ringing. He answered knowing it wouldn't stop otherwise and it was annoying those around his. "Yes Wendy I'm packing up now. I'm leaving shortly. I will be there on time." Adam rolled his eyes and everyone watched as he got his jacket on. "Yup see you soon." He hung up quick noticing the looks from around the room. "Sorry guys. I'm out of here. See you guys tomorrow." Adam was heading out but heard a comment directed towards him. "Adam? Why do you stay with her? You are clearly unhappy. We miss seeing you happy." Erin stated speaking for the group. "I don't know Linds. We have been together for years now but the fighting is getting out of control." Adam sighed. "Look I have to go before she calls again." Adam waved and headed down the stairs.

He entered his car and headed towards his apartment. Wendy was waiting there for him. She was making dinner and then they were headed to the ballet to see the Nutcracker. He had no interest in seeing the ballet but it wasn't worth fighting with her so he would go. He was getting good at keeping the peace with her. The main issue was his job, she was fine if was working Patrol but she hated Intelligence. Claiming he changed and he had. The things he saw on a daily basis was ugly and if it didn't change him he would be worried. And even on the ugliest days he wouldn't change it since he was making a difference in Chicago. That was what mattered to him most.

He arrived home sighing heavily as he entered his building. He arrived at his door taking another deep breath before opening the door. "Hey I'm home." Adam locked his badge and gun in the lock box before taking off his coat. He heard Wendy walking towards him. "Hey baby I'm glad you are home in time for dinner." She smiled as she hugged him. He hugged her back but it was half hearted. "Let me shower quickly before dinner. I've been running ragged all day." Adam kissed her forehead before walking towards his room. He heard her sigh but ignored it. As he got in the shower he braced his hands on the wall as he let the water fall all over his head, neck and shoulders. He was starting to feel more relaxed but he knew it would be ruin as soon as he left the bathroom.

He dressed and entered the kitchen to eat dinner and noticed Wendy was not happy. "What's wrong?" Adam asked confused as to what happened in the last 15 minutes. "You can't wear that! You have to wear a suit tonight!" She yelled at him. "Okay look I know that but that takes time. Dinner was ready. I will change after dinner. Please relax." Adam sighed. "Sorry I just want this night to be perfect." Wendy says as she tried to relax. They finished eating in silence and after Adam helped clean up the kitchen. He left the kitchen to go put on his suit. He had several suits for different occasions so he chose the one he wears for weddings.

When he came out dressed he knew he looked good but he was dreading this night. He was definitely going through the motions right now. "Are you ready to head out?" Wendy asked as she entered the room. "Yeah let's go." Adam had ordered a cab for the night so they could drink, he was going to need it. During the ride he watched the scenery go by. Wendy watched his face knowing he was not happy about his. As they arrived he helped her out of the cab and guided her inside the opera house. Adam got them each a drink before heading towards their seats. He had to admit the seats were comfortable and they had a good view of the stage.

As the show started he was actually surprised how much he was enjoying it. Or more he was enjoying the main dancer. She was beautiful and her movements were graceful. He was mesmerized by her. He didn't even realize when the intermission started. They headed up for another drink. While he was actually enjoying the ballet the company was not fun. She kept smirking at him, all most like she was saying I told you so. It was frustrating. They headed back to their seats to watch the second half. He watched the second half with joy. He watched the same dancer as she crossed the floor. His breath was taken away by his beautiful she was. The whole night he on,y watched her. He wasn't even sure which character she was to look her up in the program. That also seemed stalker like behavior and he was here with his girlfriend. He wasn't a cheater and would never but damn this women was beautiful.

As the ballet ended he watched as they came out to bow. He watched the applause she received. She apparently had a lead role. As the entire cast came out for a final curtain call the audience stood to applause the cast. Flowers were thrown on stage and then they were gone. As Adam and Wendy left their seats they walked towards the door but hung around to grab another drink. Everyone was trying to leave at once would make it hard to get a cab so he decided to wait it out a bit. He heard Wendy talking about outfits that people were wearing but he didn't know or care about fashion. He just enjoyed his drink.

After the drinks were empty they headed outside to get a cab. Adam could tell Wendy had something to say, she was bursting to say something. "Just say it! You look like you are going to explode." Adam said with a sigh. "You loved it! I was right! I knew it!" Wendy was goading him. It was quite frankly childish. "Look yes I enjoyed it. Yes I didn't t think I would. But you don't have to be so ridiculous about it. It's like you are trying to pick a fight here. And I'm not looking for a fight." Adam sighed again. Wendy started ranting at him but he didn't listen to her. He was to busy seeing the beautiful women walking towards them. "Excuse me. I dint mean to interrupt your fight but I need to get through here." The women stated as she passed by. "Sorry ma'am." Adam admitted. "Look I get it. The ballet isn't for everyone. But glad you enjoyed it." The women winked as she walk away.

Wendy stopped yelling about whatever she was ranting about before changing to Adam flirting in front of her. "I wasn't flirting! I was being polite. You know what. I can't keep doing this with you. I'm going home, you go to your place. Come get your things tomorrow while I'm at work. I'm done with you, with this. Goodbye!" Adam walked off. He was completely over it all. And he honestly felt amazing now. Adam walked a few blocks before actually getting a cab. As he arrived home he was happy to find the apartment was empty. He wasn't sure Wendy would listen but he was thankful she had. He had heard his phone ring multiple time and every time he saw it was her he declined the call.

After he grabbed a drink he started to pack up Wendy's items. He didn't want to see them anymore. He was done with her and the toxic relationship they had. After he finished boxing up get stuff he headed to bed for a good night sleep. The next morning he awoke feeling happier than he had in a long time. He showered, got dressed, had some breakfast and headed to work with a pep in his step. He arrived at the district smiling wide and if was definitely noticed by everyone. "What has gotten in to you?" Kevin asked as Adam bounced up the stairs. "I broke up with Wendy last night! After the ballet, I couldn't take it anymore. I went home alone, packed her shit and went to bed. I feel relieved." Adam stated as he grabbed a coffee. The team smiled knowing this was the best thing for Adam.

The entire team worked on paperwork throughout the morning trying to clean up the lose ends from the last case. Adam noticed the camera system in his house went off around noon. He looked to see Wendy arriving to get her stuff, that didn't surprise him. But what did was the man who came with her. She didn't know about the cameras in his home and he normally didn't watch when she was there because they were in a relationship but today he watched. "That bitch!" Adam yelled startling the entire team. "What happened?" Erin asked as she walked closer to Jays desk. "Wendy is at my place making out with some dude." He showed them the camera. He called her right away and put her on speaker phone.

"Hey baby! I'm so glad you called me back! I missed you!" Wendy answered the phone sounding a little out of breath. "You missed me? I'm sure your male friend with you isn't making you lonely." Adam smirked knowing he had the upper hand. "What are you talking about baby? I'm alone here." Wendy was trying to be sweet. "Turn around and wave for the camera. The whole team is watching you make out with some dude at my apartment. What was it closer than heading to your or his? How long has this been going on? Should I look further back on the camera footage? By the way grab your shit and leave now or the cops will arrest you. The locks will be changed tonight. If your shits not gone when I get home I will throw it out." Adam hung up. He was pissed. He never thought she would do that to him but he was moving on. Good bye Wendy.

The team headed back to their desks waiting for a new case. Adam started to email his landlord about changing the locks. He needed her gone ASAP. He wanted to be happy again. And she was not the source and he wasn't sure if she ever was. He was thrilled to move on. An hour later they were eating lunch when Voight came out of the office. "We have a case! High profile breaking and entering. Let's head out and see what we have." Voight ordered as they headed to the address he texted them. The team drove to a building that looked like a dump from the outside. They all looked at each other thinking the same thing, why is this high profile?

The entered the building and went to the fifth floor as directed. The building looked like old warehouses. When they stepped out of the elevator they noticed two patrol officers waiting for them. "Sergeant Voight, Intelligence. What do we have? Why are we here?" He asked after shaking the hands of the officers in front of him. "Officers Roman and Tay. The owner came home to find her door open, she called 911 from the lobby. We arrived and searched the premises and found no one. But since the owner is famous we called you. She wants this done discreetly. Her name is Kimberly Burgess, she the premier dancer at the Chicago Ballet. She's worth millions. Hence why we called you." The Officers left as Voight and his team entered the room.

"Good afternoon ma'am. I'm Sergeant Voight. This is my team. We are here to help you." Voight introduced the team but one team member was shocked to see her. It was the women from last night, the one that winked at him. He tried to act natural, he wasn't sure it worked but he tried. Voight gave orders to the team before sitting down with the victim to get her story. "Ms. Burgess can you tell me about your day before arriving home. Try to give me details as you go." Voight was hoping to figure out if she was being followed or stalked. Were they hoping she was home? He needed to figure that out. "Okay so I started my day at 6:30. I woke up and did a Pilates work out in my studio. I had breakfast, then showered before heading to the dance academy for rehearsal. It was nothing out of the ordinary. When I arrived home around 12:15 I saw my door was open. I went back downstairs to the lobby before calling 911. When the officers arrived we went back upstairs and they searched my place but didn't find anyone." Kim explained.

"Have you noticed anything missing?" Voight asked as he noticed Adam walking out of the bedroom. "Yeah I have but it's not anything of value. It's my first pair of pointe shoes, my first dance costume, my lucky earrings, my first tutu. It's nothing of value. I don't understand." Kim looked stressed. "Ms. Burgess. May I ask you a question? It's a bit awkward?" Adam asked as he sat on the couch across from her. "Of course. Ask my anything." Kim said as she looked towards him. "Do you have a boyfriend or a male friend?" Adam asked shyly. "No why does that matter?" Kim snapped at him. "I'm sorry it's just we found fresh seaman on your bed sheets. Since you don't have a boyfriend that means it's from the criminal that broke in to your place." Adam felt bad for her. This was not fun.

"What?! OMG! Why?" Kim cried this was all too much for her. Adam handed her some tissues before speaking again. "Is it possible you have a stalker? An obsessive fan?" Adam asked softly trying to not stress her out more. "Maybe. I don't know. Yes fans show up at the door with flowers and want autographs. Yes some send them directly to my dressing room. But no one that I thought would do this. Am I safe here?" Kim looked at the cops trying to figure out what to do. "I wouldn't stay here tonight. If you can stay elsewhere I would do that. Just to be safe." Voight stated as the team continued to collect evidence. Kim started out the windows zoned in on nothing. Looking on the city gave her some peace.

"Ms. Burgess we are done here. But here is my card. Call me if you need anything or if you think of anything that could help." Voight and the team we're leaving. "Officer Ruzek." Kim called out. "Yes ma'am." Adam turned around to talk to her as the team exited. "I'm sorry for my reaction earlier. I didn't mean to take it out on you like that. I was just surprised by the question. You didn't deserve that especially after last night. So I'm sorry." Kim offered her hand to shake. "Well thank you but it's okay. I understand completely. And she's gone, that was the last straw. So we will be in touch. Take care Ms. Burgess." Adam was walking away. "It's Kim!" Kim called out as Adam turn with a lopsided smile and a wink.

Kim was swooning when left her home. She packed her bags and booked a hotel for a couple of nights. As she left she made sure she had everything she could need for a few days so she didn't have to come back. Kim also messaged her business manager to hire someone to do install more security on her doors. And cameras in her hallway. She made sure to look around before getting in her car to leave and she watched to see if someone was following her. She was being overly paranoid but she didn't care.

The ride back to the district Adam was smiling wide. He couldn't believe he saw her again. Let alone got to talk to her. He was on cloud 9 and knew he would hear about it from the team. But honestly he didn't care. He would take all the ribbing, he didn't care. He actually hoped that he could talk to her again. He felt a connection to her. He could be making it up but he thought she felt it too. The other good news is while he was stuck watching security footage from her building he at least got to she face on the footage. She literally wasn't far from his mind because of it.

The team worked long into the night putting together a time line of Kim's day. Every location and looking for anyone who seemed to be following her. Adam has found the person who entered her building to rob her but he never looked towards the cameras. So they couldn't see his face. Meanwhile Kim was working on stage. She had to preform. She didn't have a choice. But knew she was safe here. After the performance was over Kim headed to her hotel for the night. She made sure to lock the door and use the extra safety measures on the door. She felt safe and ready for sleep.

The next morning she woke to a note under her door. "I'm watching you!" Kim read the note and headed right to the district that Adam worked at. She ran up the stairs and went right to the front counter. "Can I please see Officer Ruzek?" Kim was shaking literally. "I will send him down. You can wait over there." Kim was shown where to sit and wait. Adam headed down the stairs confused as to who needed to see him. Adam looked around and saw Kim crying and shaking. "Kim? Are you okay? What happened?" Adam knelt down in front of her as he spoke. She didn't answer she just handed him the note. "Oh Kim! We got you!" Adam helped her upstairs and handed his team the note as he brought her to the break room. Just as she sat her phone dinged. She looked and burst into tears again. She showed Adam her phone to see the message.

"Bad girl going to the cops! I will be seeing you!"
