The ringing in his head cut through the devoid silence. Accompanying the ringing came the sounds of muted car alarms, screams and thuds, each of which caused a splitting pain to pierce through his brain, causing him to let out an involuntary groan. Everything came swimming back to him in slow motion, light blazing at his eyes as he opened them, causing him to hiss as a stinging agony to his eyes accompanied his agonized body. Everything hurt, everything felt hot, he felt sick to his stomach and he felt as though everything was under water, except for the scene he was slowly able to unwillingly welcome. Kobeula was nowhere to be found, the intersection now in complete ruin as a few fires were strewn about. Rubble looked about as common as a blade of grass, and when he tried to move his head he quickly caught sight of blood. Blood, his eyes widened as he shifted, groaning again as pain wracked his body. He shuffled an arm underneath him and pushed himself upwards a bit, struggling not to give in to the agony of moving as he tried to pinpoint the source or the crimson on the ground. He managed to get himself sitting, so he could properly breathe without feeling sluggish, noticing his gi was in shambles. If it wasn't scorched, it was stained and torn, both by blood and grime from the area. Stained by blood... must have been his own then.. he blinked away the stinging haze assaulting his eyes once more as he looked around, trying to find signs of his friends and sister while trying to locate where he had woken up.

It looked like he had been flung quite a ways, the rubble he had left Nya behind being quite a ways away from where he was now... with Nya nowhere in sight. That flipped a switch in his brain that started to cause him to panic.

".. Nya..?" He called out, wincing at how strangled and hoarse his voice sounded, realizing how dry and scratchy his mouth felt. He didn't get a response, with only worried him further. Suddenly his body didn't hurt nearly as much as it had before, and he was able to manage to push himself up, using the wall as support for him to get enough motion to stumble towards the rubble. He was still severely weakened, as he only just made it before he had to pause, sinking back to his knees to catch his breath as he looked around for his sister. There was no signs of her... but her spear was lying on the ground where she had originally been, and it was coated with blood... his blood ran cold at the sight, color draining from his face. There's no way that was his blood, and he knew his friends had been almost opposite the intersection..

"NYA," He shouted again, louder this time as his head swiveled frantically as he prayed, prayed that he didn't find her severely injured. He was met with silence again, he couldn't find any other traces of her at all. She struggled upwards again, stumbling around the rubble to try and find her to no avail, panic settling as his vision blurred again, but only briefly.

"Llyod? Jay? Cole?.. Zane?" He shouted out once more, hoping maybe one of his other friends might respond... but it seemed that the only thing answering him was the sound of distance car alarms. He felt dizzy as he moved away from the rubble, checking each spot where his friends had taken cover. He found only traces of them, a torn piece of Lloyd's gi, Jay's phone, Cole's Scythe and one of Zane's shuriken's, each paired alongside with a bit of blood, but nothing else. He felt overwhelmed with questions, accompanied by the severe blood loss he was probably struggling with. Coupling that with the pain and he felt seconds away from passing out again. He sat down shakily as he decided to try his communicator, bringing a shaky hand up to his ear before pressing the button on the small device that sat within.

"Hello? Pixal, Master Wu? Anyone?" He tried to hide the desperation in his voice, silently praying someone answered. There was a few seconds of silence that unnerved him. He was about to try again, but suddenly the sound of static assaulted his ear, causing him to wince before a voice spoke up.

"Kai! Where are you? Nya told us about the alert but we've been trying for the past 30 minutes to get ahold of you guys! Is anyone hurt?" The sound of a rather concerned Pixal came through, and he involuntarily let out a shaky sigh of relief.

"I-I don't know, we were fighting a cobra-looking Serpentine named Kobeula, she had a sort of energy that looked like Garmadons... she said she was 'carrying out his legend' and that's when we engaged in a fight. I got flung against a wall, then Lloyd called out to get down because she was charging some super ball of energy, I pushed Nya undercover but I couldn't get out of the way..."

"So you're injured then?"

"Probably not as bas as it seems... but I will admit I'm a bit out of it... I-I only just came to again, I can't find anyone at all, I have no idea where they are and the only things I have found are either their weapons, remains of their gi's and bits of blood.."

"O-oh my... I-I'll be there shortly to assist, I'll contact Master Wu and let him know, you just hang tight Kai," The beep afterwards told him Pixal had ended the communication on her end, allowing him a moment to breathe. He was getting help, he'd be able to find his friends a lot easier than on foot, especially with everything strewn about like it is. He looked at the pile he had collected, having grabbed everything he could that belonged to his friends. Worry seeped back into him as he rested a hand on Cole's hammer. Maybe they are dead and that snake just hid their bodies to avoid even more commotion, or maybe she took them hostage while they were unconscious and left me because I took that energy blast head on... He couldn't stop the intrusive thoughts, but he tried to shake them off anyways. No, they're fine, they always make it out okay...

It felt like ages before he heard the sounds of Pixal's Samurai X suit landing nearby, causing him to slowly look up in relief. The welcome sight of the mech eased him a bit, but not by much. Pixel jumped out of the mech, looking around before spotting Kai, running up to him with a worried expression, kneeling down next to him.

"Am I ever glad to see you Pix," He chuckled dryly, trying to offer her a smile. It didn't last long, though, as his emotions combined with her haunted gaze quickly wiped the smile off his face.

"You... you look horrible.." She muttered, examining him slowly as she very carefully placed a hand on his shoulder.

"... Is it that bad..?" He couldn't see what he looked like, but if Pixel was giving him that look even he knew better than to joke about his own injuries.

"I'll have to assess you properly in the medical unit, but yes, it's pretty bad.." She let her eyes drift towards the pile he had collected.

"These are all you could find off the others?" He nodded, although it hurt like hell to do so, causing pain to flare back up in his head. He failed to hide his wince when he did so, but it was hard to hide that with Pixal. She gave him a sympathetic look, before she beckoned the mech over with a press of a button.

"I'll grab these and put them in the storage compartment, and then I'm bringing you back to the Monastery before we do any searching. Right now you are the top priority since you are the only one we have right now, and until we find the others your well being is the prime objective." She stated it in a way Kai couldn't even try to object... not like he had the energy too anyways. He just let out a sigh, falling at the prospect of not being able to search for his friends.

"Don't worry, we'll find them," She seemed to have noticed his disappointment, rubbing his shoulder gently with a small smile. It made him feel warm, appreciating her attempts to make him feel better, even if it wasn't doing much.

"Yeah..." Was all he could muster.. so he gave her a small smile back, to try and let her know he was grateful. That seemed to be enough for her, as she then gathered the pile up, getting up and rushing to put them in the storage compartment of her mech before jumping in, using it to gently pick him up so they could get to the Monastery. The movement made his entire body scream in agony, but he refused to show it, nodding at her to let her know she was ok to take off. As soon as I get better I swear I will tear through every place even remotely suspicious to find you guys, he thought, closing his eyes as Pixel took off.
