She kept running, but he stopped her, giving her a smug look on his face.
"Congratulations." Zapp said. "You're officially back with the Zapper."
Leela jolted awake, gasping intently before rushing to the bathroom. It was the fifth nightmare she had about Zapp this week. She tries hard not to think about those dreams, but it's hard. Even after finally getting into a relationship with Fry, she still couldn't get him out of her head. He couldn't leave her alone, especially after they both once slept together.
"Leela."
She turns around to him. It was Fry. He was woken up to see if she was okay.
"What is it, Fry?" Leela said.
"Are you alright?" Fry asked. "I've heard you getting out of bed. I just wanted to check on you to see if you were alright." Leela couldn't tell Fry about her nightmares so she just told him that she needed to put water on her face.
"Um… okay?" Fry said.
They both went back to bed. Leela fell back asleep but Fry couldn't. He tried figuring out what was going on with Leela. He knows that she was lying about what happened. He decided to talk to her tomorrow and finally closed his eyes, only for him to open them again when he heard her whimpering.
"Leela." He said. "Are you sure you're alright?" Leela started to toss and turn. It was pretty obvious that she was having another nightmare. Fry already knew that and began to stroke her hair, saying comforting words to soothe her.
"No." Leela said, sleep talking. Fry was confused. What kind of dream was she having?
"Please Zapp, stop!" She whimpered. Fry immediately started to shake her awake, wanting to comfort her from all the torment she's facing in that dream. Leela jolted awake, screaming and gasping for air.
"Leela, are you okay?" Fry asked. Leela immediately hugged him.
"I was having a nightmare. Zapp was chasing me. I tried to find you, but I found you dead. He then took me to a dark room, chained me, and… and… and…" She stopped. Fry knew what she was talking about.
"He did it, didn't he?" He guessed.
"He did hurt me, for dating you." She said and began to cry. "I was so scared. I thought that I was going to die." Fry stroked her hair in an attempt to soothe her.
"It's okay Leela," He said. "It's only a dream. Nothing more."
"Please don't ever leave me." Leela said, tightening her hug. "I don't want to lose you."
"It'll be alright." Fry responded. "I'll never leave you."
"Good." Leela said. "I know you think I'm an embarrassment to you. I know you think I'm a…" Fry covered her mouth.
"No, you're not." He said. "I'm not ashamed or embarrassed of you. I am so proud to be the man in your arms. I'll never leave you for anything. No matter what anyone else says."
They kissed, hoping for a better tomorrow for their relationship.
