The COG team were getting used to their new warehouse home, seeing that the whole warehouse had been gutted, and then rebuilt to contain five bedrooms, along with a huge living room, and a bathroom which had toilets, showers and bathtubs.

"Damn, this place is somethin' else. It's like a blast from the past, reminds me of my old digs," James drawled out, letting his arsenal clatter to the floor of his spacious digs, the metallic clang echoing across the warehouse.

Yulia slowly made her way around the rebuilt warehouse, feeling the carpet under her bare feet while she ran her fingers along the countertop of the kitchen, feeling its cool marble top against her skin. "Ця деревина схожа на деревину, яку використовують у моїй країні," She said before she slipped into the kitchen, making her way around the counter before she began to look about, checking each cupboard to see that they were all full of food and drink. She then went over to the fridge and freezer, opening each one to see that they were also full of food.

Yulia jumped slightly when she heard Hannah ask "Are you alright Yulia?" She snapped her head around to look toward Hannah, her blue eyes wide before she calmed herself.

"I am well thank you, just making sure we have all we need" Hannah gave a nod at hearing this from Yulia, making her way into the kitchen before placing a hand on Yulia's shoulder.

"Are you sure you are alright? What did you say just now in Ukrainian?" Hannah was a bit shorter than Yulia, with Yulia being 6 feet while Hannah was 5 feet 8 inches tall, Yulia glanced at Hannah while she picked out a packet of fruit bars before she made her way out of the kitchen with Hannah in pursuit.

"I said This wood is similar to the wood used in my country" Yulia sounded a bit displeased with having to explain to Hannah, which was understandable on her part since her country had only fallen a month ago.

"Oh, I...I am sorry Yulia, I didn't mean any ill feelings" Her German accent bled through her words while the two girls sat down on the couch in the living room, Yulia grabbed the remote, yet looked a bit confused with the buttons on the remote.

"Pass it over here, darlin'. Let me work my magic," James drawled out, settling onto the nearby couch to the right of where the girls were seated. Yulia smirked and tossed the remote at James, aiming for his stomach. It hit its mark before landing on the cushion beside him. With a chuckle, he scooped up the elongated remote and powered it on, casually flipping through the channels. "What're we feelin', ladies? Any preferences?"

"Well, let us see what the news is saying about the war so far?" Hannah suggested with a shrug, kicking her feet up when Takashi joined them, gently sitting down on the couch James was sitting on, hands on knees while James flicked the channels to Global Conflict Network 24/7 news where a GCN News journalist was standing in front of a group of Main battle tanks.

"If you see behind me, those are M4A2 Abrams tanks, pushing up into the front lines of Transnistria to support the remaining Ukrainian forces who are still holding out at the cities of Odessa and Berezivka... It's-"

*Boom*

"It's been reported that the Ukrainians have lost at least 60% of their forces, while NATO forces have bulked them up, pushing back the Russians and Chinese at least 5 Kilometers. This has been one hell of a month for Ukraine and her allies as it was only last month that Ukraine had thought to have been lost, yet this force behind me and the forces on the front line have pushed forward, clawing back lost ground!"

The whole team leaned forward, and even James had gone quiet as they listened to the outcome of the Ukrainian front. Hannah looked at Yulia, seeing a tear roll down her left cheek while the Journalist continued to talk about the war situation.

"I think... Yes, look over there, those are the new Challenger XT Main Battle Tanks, they are armed with a 139mm Smoothbore cannon which can fire an APFSDS-DU round at over 2000 meters per second, allowing the British to take out Russian T-115BU tanks with ease!"

As the journalist spoke, the sound of tank engines as well as tanks firing echoed through the television speakers, punctuating their words with the unmistakable percussion of warfare. The COG team leaned in closer, the intensity of the moment palpable as they absorbed the grim reality of the situation unfolding on the screen.

"If you listen closely, you can hear the distant rumble of tanks and the thunderous roar of artillery fire," the journalist continued, raising their voice to be heard over the cacophony of battle. "The Ukrainian forces are engaged in fierce combat, pushing back against the relentless advance of the enemy!."

The journalist then looked back over his shoulder as German Tiger 2A4 tanks joined their allies, speeding down the long road while the sound of their tracks clicking overwhelmed the Journalist's voice.

"Давай приходь, тобі треба в притулок! Росіяни стріляють з артилерії!" A Ukrainian soldier desperately shouted to the news crew before they started to dash towards the bunker while the sound of shells screaming through the air before hitting the ground blasted out from the speakers.

Yulia and the rest of the group were in shock at how far NATO had pushed the enemy back, bringing Ukraine back from the dead. "Hot damn, would ya look at that? Them crazy sons of guns actually pulled it off!"

"T'is a remarkable feat indeed," Takashi remarked, his tone steeped in reverence. "The valour of our allies hath turned the tides of battle. Verily, they have breathed life anew into our beleaguered land."

As the evening sun cast its warm glow through the windows of their makeshift home, Takashi's words lingered in the air, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. James, ever the practical one, nodded in agreement, his gaze drifting towards the kitchen.

"Well, reckon it's time we rustle up some grub," he drawled, his Southern accent adding a comforting familiarity to the moment. "Can't go on savin' the world on an empty stomach."

Hannah, her expression thoughtful, nodded in assent. "I'll help with dinner," she offered, her German accent softening the edges of her words. "We've got plenty of supplies to work with."

Yulia, her eyes still reflecting the somber reality of their world, managed a small smile. "I will assist as well," she said, her voice carrying a hint of determination. "Together, we can face anything."

With their resolve firm and their spirits united, the COG team set to work, the clinking of pots and pans mingling with their laughter as they navigated their way around the kitchen. Amidst the sizzle of cooking food and the aroma of spices, they found solace in the simple act of sharing a meal together.

Once dinner was ready, they gathered around the worn wooden table in the center of the living room, their makeshift family united by a sense of camaraderie. Plates were passed around, filled with hearty portions of food cooked with love and care.

As they ate, conversation flowed freely, punctuated by laughter and shared stories of battles won and lost. For a brief moment, they were not soldiers fighting a war, but friends enjoying each other's company in the warmth of home.

While they savoured their meal, each member of the COG team indulged in their own culinary preference. Hannah delicately forked through a colourful salad, the crisp greens and vibrant vegetables a refreshing contrast to the weight of their circumstances. Beside her, Yulia cradled a steaming bowl of soup in her hands, each spoonful a comforting reminder of home amidst the chaos of their new reality. Takashi, ever the purveyor of tradition, carefully manoeuvred a piece of sushi from his plate, savouring the delicate flavours with reverence.

"Where do you think Major is?" James questioned between mouthfuls of steak, his curiosity piqued by the absence of their leader.

Hannah, her expression thoughtful, paused to take a sip of water before offering her perspective. "He's probably handling something important," she suggested, her tone laced with understanding. "Major Alexander always has a plan."

Yulia nodded in agreement, her gaze drifting towards the window as she contemplated the unknown. "Indeed," she murmured, her voice tinged with a hint of uncertainty. "We must trust in his leadership."

Takashi, ever the silent observer, offered a reassuring smile as he reached for another piece of sushi. "For now, let us focus on the task at hand," he said, his words a gentle reminder of their shared purpose. "Together, we are unstoppable."

"And you started without me" Came Major Alexander's voice, startling the group who all turned their heads to look at their leader. "Relax, I was joking"

"Major!" James cried out, placing his large plate of meat down before running around the couches and scooping Alex up in a bear hug. This act made the rest of the team laugh, James then let go of his commanding officer, allowing Alex to walk over to the large dining table and overlook the many plates of different types of food.

"Have you heard the news of-"

"The Ukrainians and NATO claiming back land, yes, I have Hannah. I and the General are both delighted to hear this news" Hannah studied the Major's facial expressions and knew something was amiss, yet decided to not bring it up when Major Alex looked at her with a serious glare.

"Major, here, look" James, or as his team liked to call him, Jimmy, turned the TV back on to the news channel they were watching before dinner.

As the COG team watched intently, the television screen flickered to life, displaying an interactive map of the Ukrainian frontline. In the studio, a retired army Major, distinguished by his crisp uniform and confident demeanour, stood beside the producer, ready to provide expert analysis.

"Alright folks, let's dive into the situation on the ground," the producer began, gesturing toward the map. "Major, can you walk us through what we're seeing here?"

The Major nodded, his gaze focused on the screen. "Absolutely. As you can see, this area here," he pointed to a region marked with red indicators, "is where the enemy forces have been concentrating their efforts. They've been launching coordinated attacks from multiple directions, attempting to overrun our allied positions."

He then shifted his attention to another section of the map, where blue markers indicated the positions of allied forces. "However, our NATO allies have been making significant gains in this area," he explained, tracing the movements of the blue icons. "They've been pushing back the enemy forces, reclaiming territory inch by inch."

The COG team listened intently, their eyes glued to the screen as the Major continued his analysis. "Now, if we look at this sector here," he pointed to a vulnerable flank on the map, "this is where we anticipate the next enemy offensive. Our troops are bolstering their defences in preparation, but we must maintain vigilance along this front."

As the Major spoke, the producer interjected with questions, prompting him to provide further insights into the tactical situation. Together, they dissected the complexities of the battlefield, highlighting key areas of concern and strategies for success.

Throughout the exchange, the COG team absorbed every word, their expressions reflecting a mix of concern and determination. They understood the gravity of the situation and the importance of staying informed.

As the segment drew to a close, the producer thanked the Major for his invaluable analysis. "Well, there you have it, folks," he said, addressing the audience. "A firsthand look at the ongoing efforts to secure peace in the region. Stay tuned for more updates as the situation develops."

With that, the screen transitioned to the next segment, leaving the COG team to ponder the challenges that lay ahead. In the quiet of their makeshift home, they knew that their role in the conflict was more important than ever.

"Well, seems our boys are making more progress than I thought" Alexander commented, patting James on the shoulder before he joined his team, filling his plate with all sorts of meat and greens while they laughed and enjoyed their night.

As the COG team enjoyed their meal and bantered about the day's events, the atmosphere in the warehouse-turned-home was one of camaraderie and solidarity. Laughter echoed off the walls as they shared jokes and stories, momentarily forgetting the weight of their responsibilities.

With bellies full and spirits lifted, they gradually wound down, the fatigue of the day catching up to them. As the clock ticked past midnight, they exchanged fond farewells and good-nights, each member retreating to their respective bedrooms.

Yulia, her thoughts still lingering on the news of the day, found solace in the quiet of her room. She sat at the edge of her bed, reflecting on the challenges that lay ahead and the resilience of the Ukrainian people. With a heavy heart yet a glimmer of hope, she whispered a silent prayer for their continued strength.

In the adjacent room, James sprawled out on his bed while all his weapons lay on the floor in a messy mess, his mind buzzing with thoughts of strategy and tactics. He tossed and turned, unable to shake the adrenaline rush from the day's revelations. Eventually, exhaustion won out, and he succumbed to sleep, his dreams filled with visions of victory.

Down the hall, Hannah sat at her desk, poring over maps and intelligence reports by the soft glow of a desk lamp. Her brow furrowed in concentration as she analysed every detail, searching for patterns and vulnerabilities. With a sigh, she finally closed her laptop, knowing that tomorrow would bring new challenges and opportunities for triumph.

As the night wore on, Takashi reclined in his bed, his katana resting against the wall beside him. He closed his eyes and focused on his breathing, allowing the rhythm of his steady inhales and exhales to calm his restless mind. In the stillness of the night, he found a sense of peace, readying himself for whatever the dawn would bring.

And so, in the quiet darkness of the warehouse, the COG team drifted off to sleep, their dreams intertwined with visions of a better future. Together, they faced the uncertainty of the days ahead, united in purpose and determined to make a difference in the world.
