Meanwhile, back in the Professor's classroom, Officer Wembly was eating chips while he made Fred and the girls stay put with him. Fred was pacing around while lost in thought, the girls standing by the computers.
"They sure have been gone for a long time." Daphne said, worrying about Braedey, Willow, Scooby and Shaggy.
"Maybe we should go back and look for them." Velma suggested.
"Nobody goes anywhere until Professor Kaufman comes back!" Officer Wembly told them sharply.
Suddenly, Scooby, Shaggy, and Willow all ran into the room to avoid the virus, knocking over Officer Wembly in the process. The Phantom Virus was right behind them. Daphne, Fred, and Velma saw them coming and ran together with them.
"What was that?" Wembly muttered.
"It's the Phantom!" Fred realised, he and the girls now heading off to help out the others.
"Get him!" Scorcher called as he and Braedey ran in next.
Everybody decided to split up with their running. The entire group was now running all over the lab which was now becoming confusing while the Phantom Virus was grinning evilly, seeing them running all over the place. The gang all ran about to try and contain the Phantom Virus, but then, everyone crashed together and landed on the floor.
"Ow..." Braedey groaned.
Before anyone could see who had done it, someone grabbed the laser trigger, and the laser itself now zapped the gang, Willow and Scorcher, and they all vanished out of the room in an instant.
At that moment, Terrence saw the laser was firing, and he knew there was trouble brewing.
In a flash of white light, everyone appeared in a plain white background all of them looking around in confusion. But then, they all got white spacesuits with Scooby's dog collar on the shoulders, the background and their surroundings now changing to become The Moon itself.
They were now standing in the middle of a rocky landscape littered with boulders, craters, and chasms. The colour of terrain was silvery-white and resembled dust. However, it was the sky that really captured their attention. Billions of stars filled the sky; in fact, it was so clear that the haze of the Milky Way galaxy took up most of it.
"Whoa..." Scorcher muttered.
"I don't think we're on Earth anymore..." Willow pointed out to their home planet as they were on The Moon.
"Oh, no. It looks like we've been beamed directly into Eric's Scooby-Doo computer game." Velma said in concern.
"But how do we get out?" Braedey asked.
"That's the question." Scorcher sighed to himself.
A moment later, Professor Kaufman, Eric, and Bill, along with Terrence and Officer Wembley ran back into the room, and saw the laser shutting down.
"What happened?" Professor Kaufman asked.
"The laser! It's been fired." Eric yelled out, seeing the laser shut down.
"It better be that Phantom Virus, I hope." Officer Wembley said.
Bill now got to the computer, and he checked on it. But, to his shock, he saw the gang were inside Eric's video game. "I can't believe it! Your friends had been transported into cyberspace!" This made Professor Kaufman and Eric look shocked.
"That's not good." Terrence muttered in concern.
"So? Why not a switch or something, and get them out." Officer Wembley suggested casually.
"The game doesn't work that way." Eric told him.
"Eric is right. The gang will have to play through all 10 levels in order to leave the game itself." Terrence added in.
"You're kidding." Officer Wembly said.
"I vish they vere." Professor Kaufman replied to him.
"And while they're inside of cyberspace, the dangers will be very real." Bill then told them, as they looked to the large screen of the game.
Meanwhile, inside of the video game, Shaggy was now flying and running around the lunar surface, taking advantage of the zero gravity that was around them.
"Hey! I feel like a superhero!" Shaggy called out, as he jumped around.
Willow sighed. "He's going to get himself hurt, isn't he?" She asked to the other.
"Whoa-oh!" Braedey stumbled a bit, ending up going head-over-heels. but he was caught by Scorcher.
"Take care." Scorcher advised to him.
"Be careful, Shaggy!" Velma called out and warned him. "There's no gravity on the moon!"
"Look, I'm Super Shaggy!" Shaggy called with a laugh as he lifted a large rock over his head.
"Scooby, could you get Shaggy back here before he hurts himself?" Daphne asked to the Great Dane.
"R'okay!" Scooby smiled, then he goes off to go and do just that. "Scooby Dooby Doo!"
"I'll join him." Braedey volunteered.
"Just be careful." Willow advised.
Scooby and Braedey now bounced towards Shaggy across the lunar surface. However, when they came to him, Shaggy jumped out of the way, having some more fun.
"You guys should be really careful!" Willow warned them.
Shaggy kept bouncing, then hit against a rough ledge, it actually looked like it really hurt him. The others winced in pain of what they just saw. He then slid down the rock surface as the others came by him.
"Shaggy, are you alright?" Fred asked.
"I think so, but I made an important discovery." Shaggy said as he looked slightly damaged.
"What's that?" Daphne asked.
"In this video game, you CAN get hurt." Shaggy replied.
"Or worse." Braedey added grimly.
"Braedey is right. We'd better be careful." Velma said to the others.
"Velma and Braedey is right." Fred nodded. "Eric said this game has creatures, and who knows what else?"
"Zoinks!" Shaggy cried once he saw a familiar villain. "I know who!" The others, and they saw the Phantom Virus, who was laughing wickedly, as it now stood on a rocky ledge.
"Oh, no!" Daphne cried.
"He must've got beamed into the game too!" Willow gasped.
Scooby gasped and he started to run away to hide from them. "Go! Follow Scooby!" Scorcher said.
"Oh no! He's not alone!" Fred saw the Phantom Virus had two enemy henchmen with him, two figures in black and red spacesuits.
"Let's play ball!" the Phantom Virus cackled wickedly.
"Like, let's not!" Shaggy cried.
"Run!" Braedey called. "Or in this case, jump!"
The group hopped away to escape the bad guys. "I thought we were chasing him!" Daphne cried.
"Back in the lab, we were, but now, he's got new friends!" Velma exclaimed.
"Like, they don't look very friendly to me!" Shaggy added
They all now hid behind a giant moon rock. It looked safe for now. The coast looked clear for a good while as they hid in silence.
"I think we lost them." Fred said to the others.
"You know, maybe getting into cyberspace might not be such a bad thing." Velma spoke up.
"Yeah." Scorcher agreed.
"And how's that, guys?" Willow asked, as she, Braedey, and Shaggy looked over to her.
"Maybe, if we play along, we can find out who created this virus." Velma put together, showing off her braininess.
"Remember what Eric and Terrance told us." Scorcher then told the group. "The only way for us to get out is to find the box of Scooby Snacks. If we find it, we end the level and go to the next one."
"Just find the box of Scooby Snacks." Braedey said with a smile and a sigh. "Sounds easy enough."
"And there it is." Willow now pointed over to the box, showing it was not far away, and it was sitting right next to the Apollo 11 moon landing site.
"Wow. That was easy." Daphne commented.
"Of course it would be easy to find. It's only the first level of the game." Braedey clarified.
"Right. But remember, the levels are gonna get more difficult as we progress." Scorcher added in.
"Over there!" The gang looked over, and saw the Phantom Virus was coming with his minions.
"Oh, no!" Daphne cried. "Here they come!"
Willow looked around, then saw a Moon Rover. "Everyone. Look, we got transportation." Scooby also pointed it out.
"It's a Moon Rover, yes!" Braedey cheered. "Let's hit the moon road!"
"What a cool paint job!" Shaggy smiled as the Moon Rover looked designed a lot similar to the Mystery Machine.
The gang hopped over to the Rover together, and there was enough room for all of them. Being the driver of the usual van, Fred decided to take the wheel. It took a minute to start up, but they were able to zoom off to get the box of Scooby Snacks so they could end this level in one try, unlike many video games with numerous tries.
"Man. This thing needs some serious shocks." Fred commented about the lunar rover, since it felt very bumpy to drive along the lunar surface.
"As long as it gets us away from those moon goons, who cares?" Daphne asked to the others.
Shaggy now looked behind them. "Uh oh! Looks like they've got their own set of wheels."
And he was right. The Phantom Virus and his Moon Goons were driving a demonic version of a Lunar Rover, and it was slowly gaining. The Phantom Virus laughed, then held its hand out, and began to fire lightning bolts to zap their car or damage them, whichever would come first.
"Step on it, Freddie. They're gaining on us!" Daphne cried.
"I am, but this is as fast as it goes!" Fred was nearly panicking himself, as his foot was planted to the floor.
"The lunar rover isn't exactly a racecar." Braedey stated.
"And we can't use any elemental magic while in space." Scorcher grumbled, clenching his fists.
The Phantom Virus then managed to zap the Moon Rover into pieces as they got quicker on their tail, luckily, no one was hurt too bad.
"Like, they got us!" Shaggy cried out.
"Gang, look. The Scooby Snacks are over there." Velma pointed, seeing the Snacks weren't far away.
Scooby then jumped out of the vehicle and began to make his way to the Scooby Snacks. Scooby, of course, charged ahead because he was hungry.
"Let's hope he can get the snacks in time." Willow said softly.
"Go, Scooby, go!" Daphne cheered.
The Phantom Virus sped up his Rover, trying to catch up with Scooby and cut him off. Scorcher and Braedey both found a large lunar boulder, lifted it up above their heads, and they both threw it at the virus and its allies, causing them to fly out of their rover, sending them flying and they fell for the ground. The Phantom Virus wasn't hurt too bad, but it scowled at Braedey and Scorcher. They weren't going to let Scooby win. Luckily, as the goons were right on the dog's tails, Scooby grabbed the snacks, ending this level. But, as Scooby was about to eat the snacks, the snacks vanished into thin air, as did Scooby.
"What happened to-" Daphne was cut off, as she and the others disappeared from the Moon Level, and were transported to another location.
Off to the next level...
