Everything faded to white again. Everyone was now back in their normal clothes as they appeared to be in a Roman Colosseum.
"Where are we now?" Daphne asked.
"If I'm not mistaken we're in the Roman Colosseum." Velma stated.
"Rolosseum?" Scooby asked.
"You mean like where they play football?" Shaggy asked.
"No. Not exactly, Shaggy." Scorcher clarified. "You see, back in Ancient Rome, the Roman Colosseum was used for all sporting events, and where warriors used to always battle each other to entertain the King and the audience."
"You mean like sports and music?" Shaggy asked.
"Yeah, they did that too." Fred agreed.
"But the Colosseum is famous as the place where Romans fed the warriors to the lions for lunch." Braedey explained in trepidation.
"Rions?" Scooby gulped.
"Well, it looks deserted now." Daphne observed.
"Don't get your hopes up..." Willow said, knowing something would come down and ruin this moment for all of them.
"Speaking of lunch, we didn't even get to keep those Scooby Snacks from the Moon Level." Shaggy sounded disappointed. Scooby agreed, feeling very hungry now. "Don't worry, Scoob, I bet there's a concession stand somewhere." Shaggy smiled apologetically.
"Hey, look at this." Fred said as soon as he noticed white lines drawn into a shape of a large diamond, reminding him of Bill's game.
Shaggy kneeled down, tapping the lines with her fingers and licked them a bit. "Like, it's chalk..." He said softly.
It was then Willow realised the shape of the chalk lines. "It looks like a baseball diamond!"
"Baseball diamond..." Scorcher pulled out a notebook and began to write this down.
"Rikes! Rirus!" Scooby gasped as he realized the Phantom Virus was there again with a sword and a shield.
"Welcome toLevel Two, game players." The Phantom Virus grinned darkly. "Where things get a little bit tougher! But first, let's introduce you to the Home Team!" It grinned as it then slashed the chain locks over the doors to show skeleton gladiators to come for them. The skeleton gladiators came out and roared with their weapons.
"Seriously?" Scorcher asked, unamused. "Skeleton gladiators?"
"Is that the best you can do?" Willow asked.
"They're right. We can beat those meatless gladiators." Fred agreed with the two.
"And now, for the home team's mascot!" The Phantom Virus grinned sickly as he slashed another chained up door. A few seconds later, erupting from the doors was a rather vicious-looking lion with the box of Scooby Snacks in his mouth, growling angrily and viciously.
"The lion's got the Scooby Snacks!" Daphne cried out.
"You know, for once, I'm not in the mood for Scooby Snacks..." Shaggy said, feeling uneasy.
"Re reither!" Scooby added.
The lion hopped onto the pitcher's base, then puts the box down and came closer, roaring angrily to them. The gang ran as fast as they could and one of the skeleton gladiators threw a net to trap at least one of them inside of it and where it caught Shaggy by his legs. Everyone stopped briefly to try and help Shaggy out of his trap.
"Hurry!" Willow called to them as the skeleton gladiators were coming in closer, along with the lion.
"Let me try to get Shaggy free." Braedey said.
"We have to hurry..." Velma advised, but they were quickly running out of time as the gladiators and Taffyta got closer.
"A rariot!" Scooby noticed a Mystery Machine painted chariot like in the days of Ancient Rome.
"Excellent. A chariot." Scorcher said.
"Good thinking, Scoob." Fred complimented.
Then, Shaggy, Scooby, and Willow all board the chariot, and with Scooby pulling them, they were distracting the skeleton gladiators from the others.
"Good going, guys!" Fred called out to them. "You keep the gladiators busy, while we take care of this lion." He then turned his attention to the lion that stood before him and the others.
"Yeah... right..." Braedey said slowly.
"And, how do you propose we're going to do that?" Daphne asked, seeing the lion preparing to attack.
"Daphne, give Freddie your jacket." Braedey told her, having an idea.
Daphne held her purple jacket. "But, I just bought this!" She whined slightly.
"Daphne..." Velma said. Daphne sighed, then unzipped her jacket, leaving her in her green tank top, and handed her jacket to Fred.
"I know this isn't red... But it'll have to do..." Fred said quietly to himself, then stood in front of the charging lion, using the jacket like a cape. "Turo! Turo!" The lion stopped charging, looking around the colosseum in confusion of what Fred was doing.
"Fred! Turo is the name of a bull!" Braedey called. "A lion's celestial name is Leo!"
"Ohh... Leo, Leo!" Fred called instead like a matador against a bull. This made the lion angry and it roared, and began to charge towards Fred. "Ole!" Fred called once the lion ran closer, and Fred whipped the jacket away with the lion charging and missing him.
"That was too close." Velma gasped in worry.
"I have an idea." Daphne replied to her, and they began to put their plan into action.
"Don't think I forgot about you two!" The Phantom Virus spoke out to Braedey and Scorcher, as another door opened up, and three lions emerged from them. "Let's see you best these beasts!"
"What's our plan?" Braedey asked.
Scorcher smirked to himself. He reached over to something on his back, as the three lions charged at the two. Suddenly, Scorcher snapped his fingers, a wall of fire erupting between him and the lions. A second later, the fire vanished, as Scorcher stood his ground.
"Braedey, you go and help your friends." Scorcher said to Braedey. "I'll take care of these three." He eyed the three beasts, as they all growled and grunted at the two humans.
"You sure?" Braedey asked.
"Go." Scorcher whispered, and the little boy walked off at once, then he focused on the lions. "Okay, fella. Easy, boy." Scorcher said calmly to the first lion, trying to get the animal's attention away from Braedey. "Stand down, now. Stand down." Scorcher flinched as the carnivore snapped it's jaws at him. "HEY! What did I say?" He warned, just as the second lion stomped up to Scorcher's left. "Oi! I see you, Mufasa! BACK UP!" He ordered, the second lion roaring back in response. "You want me to knock you out?" He challenged. He then looked over to the right to see see the third lion looking to try and sneak around. "HEY! Kitty cat, don't even think about it!" He ordered, the third lion growling back in response.
At that second, Scorcher whipped out his weapon: a bō staff and two pairs of gold-chain-linked lever-action shotguns, a form in which double as nunchaku. At once, Scorcher disconnected his staff into two spinning circles of shotgun nunchucks that only slow down once to show what they are before becoming twin arcs again. He spun them around in his hands, the two nunchucks making a sound as they spun. The spinning weapons seem to get the three lion's attention, making the three quadruped mammals listen to the sound of the spinning weapons, then Scorcher opened fire with flashes of flames from the weapons, the three lions flinching from this, and they ran away to the doors, Scorcher sealing the doors behind them.
"Got them!" Scorcher nodded, folding the nunchucks away.
"Hey Fred! Mind if I go cowboy this kitten!" Braedey called out from behind the lion.
"Good luck with that..." Fred called, feeling nervous for him, but continued to distract the lion.
"Braedey..." Daphne called.
Daphne and Velma now ran to the doors the lion ran out of, and held them open so they could trap the lion inside. The lion growled, still determined to attack Fred and the others. The lion then decided to go after Braedey as he now stood in front of the opened doors. Braedey suddenly jumped up onto the lion and rode on it like a mechanical bull. Once Braedey got off and the lion ran off, Daphne and Velma shuts the doors, locking up the lion.
"Way to go, girls!" Fred gave a thumbs up.
"Wahoo!" Braedey cheered. "That was the first time I ever rode on a lion's back!"
"Nice plan there." Scorcher added in.
Daphne then rewarded Fred with a kiss, and Fred gave back her jacket. Daphne then hugged Braedey tightly, giving him a light scolding for what he did. Braedey sighed a little at this.
If you're wondering where Shaggy, Scooby, and Willow were, they were trying to stay away from the gladiators. While Willow got rid of the skeleton gladiators, one destroyed one of the wheels, making Scooby, Shaggy, and Willow fly through the air and destroying the chariot, Shaggy freed from the net. All three of them then landed back on the ground. Scooby and Shaggy slightly rolled and it made it out of the net. With their intense running, Shaggy, Scooby, and Willow made a thick dust cloud blocking the vision of the skeleton gladiators.
"Good going, guys!" Fred was impressed once Scooby, Shaggy, and Willow came back.
"Yeah, whatever..." Shaggy said, a little dazed and out of breath.
"I haven't run like that for some time..." Willow panted.
"Just hold off those gladiators for just a little bit longer. Fred and I will go and get the Scooby Snacks." Braedey said.
"Like, that's easy for you to say, man..." Shaggy looked at him.
"Reah!" Scooby agreed before going to do as told.
"Try to lead them up to the stands." Velma suggested, pointing up as a demonstration.
"I don't think we have the energy..." Shaggy said. Suddenly, a spear was zipping by them and Scorcher caught it in her hand, showing zero fear.
"I think you do now..." Willow said, glancing at the guys.
"Like, I think you're right." Shaggy said, scared for dear life. Scorcher and Fred then handed the two the spears. "What're we supposed to do with these?" Shaggy was lost for words.
"Use them to pole-vault over the walls." Scorcher advised, as he and the others ran off to get the box of snacks.
"And then what?" Shaggy asked back.
It was too late; the others were already gone before he could ask anymore. The skeleton gladiators came closer and closer, and attempting to do some damage. Shaggy, Scooby were now up in the seats and decided to run into some curtains to go disguise again. Shaggy and Scooby then stepped out in togas and wreathes to look like Ancient Romans.
"Friends, Romans, and Spooky Gladiators." Shaggy announced. "All hail Emperor Scooby!"
The gladitors were instantly fooled by the disguises and bowed respectively. This plan went well, until Shaggy accidentally stepped on Scooby's toga and it was sliding down, revealing the Great Dane. Once the skeleton gladiators realised this, they go forth to continue their destroying plans against Mystery Inc. Luckily, Fred grabbed the Scooby Snacks box before the gladiators could slice up Scooby and Shaggy, and they all disappeared, heading forth to the next level.
"They passed the second level." The Phantom Virus said. "Now the real challenge begins..." It grinned, knowing that the third level was the beginning of the difficult and very life-threatening levels.
