Sindel had an expression of horror on her face when she saw Shang tsung's lab
"how could I have so misjudged them." Sindel said "for Shang tsung to indulge in such depravity, for general shao to condone it... they are not the men I thought them."
"despite my best efforts neither man, nor Quan chi are who they're meant to be." Liu kang said
"they're not your responsibility they're outworlders." Sindel said
"but it is I who crafted their destinies." Liu kang said "along with those of all other beings at the dawn of history."
"you created the realms?" Sindel asked "is your mind addled Demi god?"
"I am a mere Demi god now but eons ago I was more powerful than all of the elder gods combined." Liu kang said "I was a titan and the keeper of time."
Lincoln let out a small cough
Liu kang then summoned geras
"this is geras." Liu kang said
"your majesty your highnesses." Geras said
"Geras is the guardian of the hourglass." Liu kang explained "a celestial object that lies outside the realms. The hourglass regulates time and destiny."
Geras made a miniature replica of the hourglass
"when I wielded it's power it was upon me to craft all of existence." Liu kang said "which I did when I restarted history."
"restarted?" Sindel asked
"this timeline was proceeded by billions more though this is the first of Liu kang's design." Geras explained "the others were designed by his predecessor."
Geras showed visions of kronika
"kronika was obsessed with equalizing good and evil." Geras explained "when a timeline veered to far to one or the other she would halt it and restart history, tinkering with lives and events in the hope of achieving her golden balance."
"in prior times kronika gave Shang tsung and Quan chi mastery of the most vile magics." Liu kang explained "shao was not a general but a tyrannical rule and was bent on conquest, you sindel where his ruthless wife, who would do anything to preserve your privilege."
"im pretty kronika screwed with that sindel's history in an attempt to screw over Liu kang." Lincoln said "but hey that's just a theory."
"when I took the hourglass from kronika I vowed to do better." Liu kang said "so in this timeline the sorcerers Would not gain their dark powers, Shao would be your loyal follower, and you would rule outworld firmly but fairly."
"but someone has interfered with Liu kang's design." Geras said "shao, Shang tsung, Quan chi all have been groomed by an unknown entity to be the villains they were in previous timelines."
sindel was still trying to process
"where to begin?" Sindel said "am I to kneel to my creator? do you expect worship?"
"no your majesty my prior role was thrust upon me by circumstance." Liu kang said "I am no way divine."
"you had power over all of creation yet you gave it up." Sindel said
"because I saw how it drove kronika mad I knew I would fair no better if I kept it." Liu kang said
then general Shao burst through the door with nitara rain and reiko along with some soilders
"you how dare you conspire against outworld." Sindel said
"not against outworld but against your misguided rule." General Shao said "your deference to him leaves us all vassals."
"so you sanction these unspeakable horrors lie to me about the threats we face?" Sindel asked "thanks to you earthrealm blood is already on my hands. bloodshed without cause or provocation!"
"don't move!" General Shao said pulling out shinnok's amulet
"the amulet of shinnok!" Liu kang said "Lincoln!"
"on it!" Lincoln said as he pulled the amulet to him
"what?!?" General Shao said confused as to how Lincoln stole the amulet
"Womp womp." Lincoln said before crushing the amulet with his bare hand "bang."
Lincoln charged an energy blast and fired it from his fingers like a gun sending the general and his troops flying
"who are you?" Sindel asked
"Lincoln the elder god of magic at your service." Lincoln said before going to fight
"you really think you can beat me?" General Shao said
"heh I don't think I know." Lincoln said
shao tried to cut him with his axe but the axe slowed down when it got close to Lincoln
"Like I said "Womp Womp." Lincoln said tapping the axe before firing another blast in general shao's face
"ignorant fool!" General Shao said before charging in for another attack
but his axe vanished from his hands and appeared in Lincoln's hand
"me personally I prefer scythes." Lincoln said before snapping the axe over his knee and summoning a scythe
Lincoln threw the scythe causing it to spin in the air hitting shao a bunch before coming back to his hand like a boomerang
general shao rushed in one final time
Lincoln summoned two pistols
"keeping it' stylish!" Lincoln said before firing the guns
soon general shao was out cold
"jackpot." Lincoln said
soon everyone was finshed with their battles
"we must move quickly if we wish to save earthrealm." Liu kang said
"is that the command of my creator?" Sindel asked
"no sindel it is the request of a friend." Liu kang said
later
with smoke and kuai Liang in tow they made their way to the fortress
soon they reached the area where the soul stealers were and began to make their way through to shut them off
they soon reached a gate where they saw outworld guards
"will they stand down if ordered?" Mileena asked
"no those are the generals most loyal lieutenants." Sindel said
"they must be neutralized if we are to shut down the soul stealers." Tomas said
"yes they do. We should split up." Liu kang said
they rushed in and began to deal with the soldiers
Lincoln ran up and simply turned the soul stealers on the left to dust
then he saw mileena and Tanya fighting ermac
"ok I guess I'll get those ones too." Lincoln said before blasting the soul stealers
after a few minutes Lincoln saw Tanya and mileena being lifted by ermac but something was different
"well I'll be damned." Lincoln said upon realizing who it was
"father!" Kitana said
"jerrod?!?" Sindel said
"yes Sindel it's me." Jerrod said
"how missed I you." Sindel said
"greetings Jerrod." Liu kang said
"Liu kang my friend we meet again." Jerrod said
"it is good to have you back. we once again find ourselves in challenging circumstances." Liu kang said
"and we once again we prevail." Jerrod said before turning to sindel "as always, sindel I am yours to command."
They made their way inside the fortress and saw Shang tsung testing the dragon king's army
"how is it they're unaware that the soul stealers are shut down?" Mileena asked
"we are deep within the mountain from here they couldn't tell." Tomas said
"look at them conspiring. It is history we should not be repeating." Liu kang said
"we must take the crown without it he can't raise more warriors. Kuai Liang said
"our odds will improve if we can surround them." Sindel said
"I'll distract them while the rest of you get into position." Mileena said
they just that and it went perfectly
Lincoln turned the warriors to dust and blasted the crown away from Shang tsung
"thanks to the princess this fight is ended." Liu kang said to Shang tsung
"the fight perhaps. Not the battle." Shang tsung said
"true." Liu kang said "until your benefactor is caught the realms remain threatened. Who is she sorcerer?"
Then the crown began to react
"speak of the devil." Shang tsung said "Liu kang meet damashi."
"damashi?!" Lincoln and liu kang said knowing what that could mean
the crown began to fly and then another Shang tsung appeared holding it along with an alternate Geras sindel and raiden
"I guess this takes "trust no one not even yourself" to a whole new level." Lincoln said
"you are the victim of deception sorcerer." Liu kang said
"you're not damashi." Shang tsung said "you're me."
"more correctly you are me." Titan Shang tsung said "a poor facsimile anyway, made lesser by Liu kang's meddling."
"what's happening here? who is he?" Sindel asked
"this Shang tsung is whom I battled for the hourglass." Liu kang said "I thought him dead."
"as I did you Liu kang." Titan Shang tsung said "as it turns out, our battle released mammoth energies which ripped apart time's fabric, the fight had two conclusions in one I was the victor in the other it was you. It was eons before I discovered this, once I did I knew the path forward."
he transformed into damashi
"I took this form and infiltrated this timeline." Titan Shang tsung said "I elevated these wretches, giving them great power. Together they sewed discord among the realms and assembled for me the dragon army. I led them to believe they were aiding my conquest of earthrealm and outworld but my intent is to exterminate all life in this timeline and merge it into my own."
"you promised us realms." Shang tsung said "now you leaves to slaughter?"
Titan Shang tsung turned back to his original form
"you were pawns not partners." Titan Shang tsung said "your purpose served you will be sacrificed."
"we served you loyally built you the dragon crown!" Quan chi said
"this? This a toy I don't need it to control the army." Titan Shang tsung said "I just need the souls within."
suddenly the crown flew out of Titan Shang tsung's hands and into Lincoln's
"oh so I guess you won't mind if I do this!" Lincoln said before sending the souls in the crown to the afterlife
"You will pay for that." Titan Shang tsung said "sindel, raiden finish them."
"let's do this!" Lincoln said
