A few weeks passed since Izuku killed that guy, and nothing came of it. The police couldn't find enough evidence and ruled it an accidental death due to the storm. Only the police and Izuku knew the truth. If he said anything about it, he would be found out.

He was riding the train to the U.A., a recent event dubbed the U.S.J. incident has caused an uproar, and they're holding a press conference. He wore a green, buttoned trench coat, black pants, and his favorite red shoes. His favorite part of the outfit was his gloves, they kept his hands warm in the cold weather. Izuku needed to be there because of his new job as a journalist. He said he knew someone in class 1-A, and they practically threw the camera at him.

The train arrived, and he got off. A short walk got him to the school. The gate, which was usually closed, was open to the public. A pro-hero was standing guard, it was the R-rated heroine, Midnight. She had her skin-tight suit on and everything. She was put there, most likely because she can incapacitate anyone on short notice. Izuku was a little excited to meet her in person.

He tried walking through, and she blocked the way. "Do you have a press pass?" she asked. He showed it to her, it had his picture on it. "Aren't you a little young to be a journalist?"

"I like to call it starting early." She let out a laugh and let him in. He didn't know why she laughed.

The U.A. building glistened on a hill. The large field around it had a stage with the principal and a few pro-heroes sitting at a long table. The middle of the table was raised, and it had microphones on it. A large group of reporters crowded in front of it. Izuku made his way to the front, taking a quick picture. One of the pro heroes, a man wrapped heavily in bandages, glared at him briefly with his one good eye. He took a step back at that, it was terrifying.

"OK, let's get this little press conference started." The principle, a little rat thing, popped up to the microphones. "If any of you have any questions, we'll all be glad to answer." Reporters started yelling different questions, they blended into each other, and it was impossible to hear a single word. "Settle down now. Please wait to be called on." The rat looked through the crowd and settled on Izuku. He pointed at him and said, "Why don't you ask a question?"

Ah, crap. Izuku fished into his pocket and took out his notepad. He opened it to find his prepared questions. "What do you say to the allegations of the U.A. being an anti-quirkless school?" He couldn't care less about that, but he didn't write the questions, it was all his boss's fault.

"Ahh, that's a good question. Now I would have preferred a question related to the U.S.J. incident to start, but this seems like a good time to announce it." The principal was raring for a big reveal, and Izuku didn't like the feeling he got. "I am proud to announce that U.A. High School has the first ever quirkless hero student."

What? This shocked Izuku to the core, it was meant to be impossible. "Who is it?" Izuku all but shouted.

"He's our very own Mikumo Akatani. He surprised all of us by placing in the top ten of the entrance exam. It's needless to say we were happy to bring him in." The reporters went out of control after that, it took several minutes before they calmed down. The principal shot down all questions about the quirkless student, only accepting ones about the U.S.J. incident.

Izuku took a few more pictures, then a few notes, and left before anyone else. The quirky student still shook him. He had to go before he exploded. He walked to the train station and sat on a bench. He had to keep his composure until the train came.

"Damnit, why isn't the train here?" A man in a messed-up suit yelled while entering the train station. He was hungover from late-night drinking. His headache must've kept him from keeping his thoughts in his head. He was clutching a bottle of liquor, taking a drink every few seconds. He stumbled and found his way to the bench, slouching next to Izuku. He mumbled, "I want a quirk, I could fly and be a hero too."

The man was quirkless. Izuku knew exactly what to do with his anger now.

Naomasa Tsukauchi was having a bad few weeks. First, he had to cover up the murder of a quirkless homeless man. Then All Might lost more of his time, making crime rise a little. The next thing he knows, there's another body found.

The victim was found in a secluded alley with multiple stab wounds from a broken bottle. The bottle wasn't found, but analyzing the cuts allowed them to figure out the type of weapon used. Other investigations revealed he was a quirkless man with an office job, he frequented bars and was often found passed out drunk.

Naomasa was in his usual outfit of a trench coat over a suit and tie. He was in a conference room in the police station. Several other detectives were in the room. All Might was there too but as Toshinori Yagi, his civilian form.

He took out a whiteboard on wheels. It had pictures of the recent murder scenes. There wasn't much else on it. He looked at everyone and said, "These are Maita Keiko and Ban Kichirou. They have recently been found dead. Injuries suggest murder, there was no weapon at either scene and not enough evidence for a lead. But there's one common link: they're all quirkless.

"Other evidence suggests a single perpetrator. A second look at the first scene indicates that the murder weapon was found on the floor. A missing piece of concrete matches the hole in the victim's head. The cuts on the second victim were made from a bottle, something he would have on him at all times. This suggests that the killer acts quickly and based on emotion, using whatever is in the vicinity to take out his target. That's why I want to open a new case file on a serial killer that targets quirkless people." There were several problems with this, he had to pray the detectives wouldn't dismiss it outright.

One of them was suspicious, an older detective with a receding hairline. "Why do you think this could be a serial killer? Even if it was one person, which is highly likely, There aren't enough crime scenes to classify it as such." He was a veteran of the force, he knew the rules better than anyone.

"It's only a matter of time before there is a third dead body. There is a murderer out there with two kills under his belt, and that's only the ones we know about. If we open this case now, we can get help from pro-heroes, which increases our odds of preventing a third death. That's why I asked All Might to accompany us for this meeting. Too bad he couldn't make the time for it, so he sent his secretary."

Toshinori smiled and rubbed his neck. "Yeah, he's very busy nowadays." He only had a short amount of time to be All Might each day, but with how obvious he made it, it was a wonder nobody had found him out yet.

Naomasa had to address all the problems immediately. "I understand the risk, but we have to be quick and decisive. Someone going around killing quirkless people could lead to protests. If we don't find the killer quickly enough, then the outrage could make our job harder. But we need the support of the heroes, and that could only happen if it's a serial killer when there's no proof of quirk usage." Heroes only go after villains, as in criminals who use their quirks to commit crimes." Keeping this from the public would be a huge risk, but we could delay the protests for a little while. Or at least until the public finds the connections between the murders. That's why I must ask all of you not to say a word about this outside the police station. I know I can trust all of you."

The meeting soon ended, and he was permitted to make a task force to find the killer. He picked a few detectives and pro-heroes who could help. All he needed was a code name for the killer. After a little thought, he wrote down "The Quirkless Killer."

Author's Note

Updates might slow down from now on. I've been writing non-stop for a little while, and I'm all out of creative juices. I just need time to recharge, and I'll be back. I know it's a little early to say this, but I don't care.
