After concluding their discussion and coming to a consensus on the location to commemorate their first year of marriage, Subaru and Ram proceeded to stroll towards the destination that Ram had enthusiastically mentioned earlier. Ram was visibly excited to reveal the spot to Subaru, and as they finally arrived at the place.
well Subaru didn't know what was exiting with what Ram had found, but—— count Subaru surprised.
Because...
"TATWAFFLE!, Those are a frozen people...AND STILL FUCKING ALIVE!?" He exclaimed.
"Wait what!...alive? ".
Subaru's surprise was palpable as he exclaimed, and ram standing next to him also seemed surprised at his words.
——So she didn't know huh?
"Yes...I can feel their heartbeat...those people are not dead, it's almost like sleeping or a coma or something I don't know...but am sure as hell they're not dead"
Subaru's demeanor shifted from bright enthusiasm to a more somber tone as he began to explain, a hint of darkness creeping into his words.
Ram appeared to be aware of his changing mood, yet she made a conscious choice to direct her attention towards the current issue at hand, shifting her gaze towards the source.
Both the couple was standing midst of a desolate village, blanketed by a thick layer of snow, stands a peculiar sight. The houses, seemingly sprouting from an ancient trees, create an eerie atmosphere. However, the term "abandoned" fails to capture the true essence of this forsaken place. The village's inhabitants have not vanished; instead, they are trapped in a haunting stillness, encased within a frozen prison of ice—Solid statues, but alive.
"So it seems that the story of the witch proved to be true," ram said as she subtly closed her eyes, revealing a hint of anguish "How ...terrible...Subaru!?"
Subaru was slowly making his way towards one of the frozen individuals, his hand emanating a sinister dark orange glow, a stark contrast against the icy surroundings. Just as he was about to unleash whatever power lay within his grasp, Ram's voice pierced through him making him half.
"What?" He looked back at her.
"What are you going to do with...that?"she said pointing at his glowing hand.
"Well I just had this weird idea that maybe I could help them...I mean to be more precise unfreeze them."
Subaru said simply, but feeling that he had not fully explained enough, he added, "I should have told you this before, but anyway... the orange energy I release has a tremendous impact on the elements of nature around me... sorry but this all I can say since I myself don't understand much about my power... yet."
After a few seconds of silence, Ram frowned as responded, "But isn't it dangerous to do that, since you don't understand how your power works..."
At her words, Subaru began to review his thoughts——dangerous? Yes, maybe Ram is right...but as the hero, shouldn't I make crucial decisions even if they seem impossible? Subaru turned his head to his glowing hand and then he smiled.
——Yes, I can do that... the meaning of a hero is to start doing what he has to do.
Coming to a decision, Subaru looked at Ram again, he met her eyes, simply grinning.
"Don't worry, Ram, just think about all the positives of what will happen if we succeed in liberating them... In addition, with the solution in our hands, it would be shameful not to try, don't you think?"
At his words, ram seemed to be eyeing the still frozen body of a women, observing her with concern, then...
"...Alright" ram sighed then continued saying "ram will allow it...just be careful ram has an uncomfortable feeling about it" She seemed to be squeezing her body with her arms tightly as she said that.
"Okay as you wish..."Subaru noted her tension and for that he would be more then happy to comfort her...but right now he has something to do, and he will do it no matter what.
Turning back to the frozen body, Subaru extended his hand and began to feel it "she is cold...too cold for the touch" Subaru noted that the body was that of a woman and from her vital signs he received he concluded that she was very old ——almost like Stormfront.
——But she looks young...so that's the life span of an elf huh? It seems we got more Common things between us then I thought.
Subaru couldn't help but be reminded of his own slow aging process when he saw these individuals. It had been a decade, yet whenever he glanced at his reflection, he still saw the same sixteen-year-old boy staring back at him. Nothing seemed to have changed, except for the length of his hair and his fashion choices. As Subaru delved into books about elves and their remarkable longevity, he couldn't help but draw parallels between their timeless existence and his own stagnant appearance.
——Well the more the reason to help them, he snickered In thought.
"Sicherung..."Subaru muttered in a foreign language, and as he continued to touch the frozen woman, his hand emitted a radiant glow. The energy emanating from his hand cascaded throughout her body, like a symphony of liberated emotions swirling around her. Gradually, the energy seeped into every inch of the frozen woman, infusing her with its power, only to vanish inside her moments later.
"Now what? " Ram, asked from behind him seemingly impatient.
"Now we wait"
he responded still touching the woman, and then a few moments later, a cracking sound began to emanate from the woman's frozen body, subaru frowned as he took a few steps back, ram noticing hir reaction asked concerned.
"What is it subaru...why are yo—
"I guess I messed up ram," he admitted, firmly clasping her hands and pulling her along as they retreated together.
"Screwed up? ho—
Just as she was on the verge of questioning him, a deafening explosion erupted from the exact spot where Subaru had been standing mere seconds ago.
Startled, she whipped her head around towards the source of the noise" oh...god!"
Only to have her eyes widen in sheer terror at the horrifying scene unfolding before her.
the woman's frozen body exploded, a gruesome spectacle unfolded before the couple. Blood and organs sprayed in all directions, as fragments of her body collided with the unsuspecting bodies of two other frozen elves. The impact was devastating, obliterating them instantly. Subaru couldn't help but cringe at the scene unfolding before him. With a heavy heart, he muttered, "This is terrible, isn't it?"
" Terrible!?..."With a mix of shock and anger, ram forcefully pulled her hands away from him and unleashed a piercing scream. "Subaru, what on earth were you thinking!? You've just taken the lives of three innocent people... And all you can say is 'terrible!?'".
"Apologies... I mean, yeah, you're correct, it's terrible... it's truly awful. I genuinely sympathize with them..."——lies ——Subaru's words were insincere, he didn't feel any remorse for them at all. Honestly, the only thing that truly saddened Subaru now was Ram's yelling at him.
However, on the other hand, feeling sorrow for taking someone's life even by accident? Well, that emotion had long faded from his heart...
"Damnit..." But unexpectedly, Ram seemed to believe his words. She sighed deeply before holding her forehead with frustration. "It's just... am sorry I screamed at you, it's not only your fault...it's Ram's too, I also agreed to you to do ... What you just did...".
——Shit look what you did now subaru.
Subaru's emotions started to weigh heavily on him as he reflected on the consequences of his actions. His gaze was fixed on Ram, observing the remorse etched on her face. Overwhelmed by guilt, he could no longer suppress his feelings. Reaching out, he gently placed his hand on her shoulder, offering comfort and reassurance. "Ram, there's no need for you to beat yourself about it... what happened happened, and it was my mistake not yours" he confessed, acknowledging his responsibility for the situation. "In essence, I was just trying to help...and I messed up not a big deal right?"
As Subaru uttered his final sentence, he couldn't help but notice the slight trembling of Ram's shoulders. Taking this as a cue, Subaru gently withdrew his hands from Ram's grasp. Concerned, he asked, "Hey, Ram, are you okay?"
"you know what Subaru? I think you should go" she said with a cold tone, implying that it was time for him to leave.
"Huh!?" Subaru's heart sank upon hearing those words, feeling a wave of fear wash over him, but he composed himself albeit hardly to respond.
"Ram, please I already apologized, isn't that sufficient? Besides...besides " His tone was desperate, as his gaze frantically darted around looking for something to say, finally settling on the mess he had created. He then turned back to Ram and asked, " besides I absolutely Should stay to clean up the mess I made? I mean, I can't expect you to do it yourself, rig—
"Don't worry about me, I'll be fine," she interrupted him with a cold tone. "I am perfectly capable of handling things on my own. Never underestimate Ram's abilities." Her piercing gaze made Subaru take a step back, feeling overwhelmed and confused as to why she was so angry over the deaths of a few strangers to her.
——What just happened!?
Subaru, is at a loss for words, unsure of what to say next. However, before he follows her instructions, he realizes there is one final question burning in his mind that he must ask.
"Do...you still wanna go to lugunica...tomorrow?" He asked hesitantly.
Ram's cold gaze met Subaru's trembling gaze as she raised an eyebrow, her expression cold. Despite feeling ashamed, Subaru stood his ground, waiting anxiously for a response. After a tense moment, Ram let out a deep sigh, her voice cutting through the silence as she reluctantly agreed, "Sure, Ram will still accompany you... but don't mistake it for forgiveness."
——thank god for that.
Subaru let out a small sigh in response to her words, his emotions on the verge of overwhelming him. Despite the urge to cry, he managed to compose himself and muster up the courage to speak. "Please forgive me once more, Ram," he uttered, avoiding eye contact and not waiting for a response as he hurriedly dashed off into the sky.
After Subaru departed, a short while went by, yet Ram remained unmoved, her eyes fixated on the spot Subaru had disappeared from.
However...
unlike her cold icy demeanor from before, her expression now displayed a hint of concern. "Still as heartless as ever... Subaru, aren't you?" she whispered under her breath not expecting any answer back, she teared her gaze away from the sky and started making her way towards the scene of death.
...
Not very far from where the Elf Village is located.
"WHY THE HELL IS EVERYTHING GOING WRONG FOR ME? I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW FUCKED UP I AM!" Subaru bellowed, his anger boiling over as he unleashed a powerful punch towards a massive rock, shattering it into countless fragments.
"WHY AM I BEING SUBJECTED TO THIS KIND OF TREATMENT FROM YOU, RAM...WHY!?"
Subaru bellowed furiously again, his voice echoing through the snowy forest. In a fit of rage, he lashed out again and delivered a powerful kick to a nearby tree, causing it to be violently uprooted from the ground.
"DAMN IT!..." Subaru's anger boiled over as he came to a sudden halt, leaning heavily against a nearby tree. "It's all my damn fault, isn't it, Ram?" he seethed, his voice laced with frustration and self-blame.—— Despite not fully understanding his actions, Subaru was prepared to take responsibility, no matter how misguided he may have been. "I just need to figure out what the hell I did!," he growled, his tone filled with anger and confusion.
Subaru's mental illness aside, his tumultuous teenage emotions still linger within him, a clear downside of his relative immortality. Despite his slow aging, Subaru's emotional maturity has not kept pace. It is clear that he is not prepared for marriage at this point, as his volatile emotions cannot handle situations not unfolding according to his desires. Subaru's disdain for things not going his way is a clear indicator of his immaturity and lack of readiness for such a serious commitments that came with it's fair share of problems.
——And to that end, that could only lead.
"WHAT THE HELL IS MY PROBLEM? WHY AM I SUCH A PATHETIC LOSER!?" he shouted, struggling to get the words out. Tears poured down his face like a damn bursting. Subaru couldn't bear it any longer, so he let himself cry when Ram wasn't here.
He couldn't bring himself to cry in front of her, or anyone else for that matter, ——and he never would.
"Grrra!!"
Tears streaming down his face, Subaru was abruptly interrupted by a low growling noise. His gaze shifted towards the tree across from him, where two yetis were laying there staring at him.
Anger surged through his veins as their eyes met his, their empty stares only fueling his rage. "You dare to have something to say?" he spat, his voice dripping with contempt. "You mindless creatures!, maybe I should punch holes in your brains... but they still want you alive"
——Speaking of that.
As if remembering something Subaru's eyes narrowed in frustration as he forcefully brushed away the tears staining his cheeks and eyes, his anger palpable as he delved into his inner pocket to retrieve a gleaming golden cylinder.
With a scowl etched on his face, he clenched the object tightly in his hand, his voice dripping with venom as he muttered, "Let's just get this damn job over with." In one swift motion, he cracked open the cylinder.
And then a few minutes later.
[hello there sunset-sama,... sorry I couldn't answer yo—
"Keep your pathetic excuses to yourself, Joshua... I only called to inform you that I have completed the task and am prepared to deliver them to the designated location. Make sure they are aware that I will be arriving soon".
[Right right as you say sunset-Sama...sorr‐ I mean I will do as you say]
"...good, oh yeah and one other thing "
[What is it sunset-sama ?]
"...let your lady know that I will be arriving in Lugunica tomorrow for an extended visit, and I won't be by myself... My wife will be accompanying me on this trip"
[A wife!? Oh, I mean, sorry... Yes, I will inform my lady about this ... and I extend a warm welcome for you to visit Lugunica sunset-sama].
"Yeah, whatever," as he forcefully slammed the metia shut, nearly smashing it in the process. Through gritted teeth, he muttered, "Fucking annoying piece of shit!"
Subaru's frustration boiled over as he let out an exasperated sigh, feeling a mix of anger and sorrow consuming him. Despite the overwhelming emotions weighing him down, he begrudgingly accepted that it was time to focus on the task at hand. With a scowl etched on his face, he marched towards the two paralyzed yetis, ready to take care of business.
...
"Grrra!!"
"SHUT UP!"
Subaru stormed towards his destination, the weight of the yeti's bodies dragging behind him as he mercilessly pulled them by their hair. The sound of their grumbling and hair scraping against the ground only fueled his anger further, his grip tightening with each step.
The sight of their limp bodies being treated so roughly was a clear indication of his frustration and impatience, leaving no room for sympathy or remorse.
"GRAAAA—"
"Shut your damn mouth, you worthless piece of shit!...you know what? I don't give a damn about this pathetic job anymore, I'm just gonna end you right here!" he roared furiously, his anger boiling over as he clenched his fists, ready to unleash a deadly blow.
However...
'Help please!'
in the midst of his rage, a cry for help pierced through the air. "Please...somebody...Help me!" echoed a desperate voice in the distance, but thanks to Subaru's superhuman hearing, he caught every word.
Subaru straightened up, sword unsheathed" It's coming from the woods...from the direction I came from " his eyes narrowed in focus " am coming whoever you are".
Time was of the essence, and Subaru had no intention of squandering it.
With his sword firmly gripped in his hand, poised to sever heads, he propelled himself forward with a terrifying velocity. In the blink of an eye, the world around him transformed into a hazy blur, as if time itself struggled to keep up. And just as abruptly as he had accelerated, Subaru abruptly halted his advance.
"You please help me...please! "
This time. The same pleading voice pierced through the air, resonating directly in front of him, causing Subaru's eyes to narrow with a mixture of anger.
"And just who might you be, lad?" questioned the armored man, his eyes widening in astonishment at Subaru's unexpected arrival. His appearance exuded a captivating charm, with his rugged features and the glint of steel from his armor, adding an air of strength and elegance to his persona.
Ignoring the question posed to him, Subaru displayed a complete disregard for providing an answer. Instead, his attention shifted towards his surroundings, scanning the area with a mix of focus and curiosity.
His gaze landed on a group of individuals, their armor indicating a potential affiliation with slave trading or kidnapping.——or maybe both.
Subaru's eyes darted back and forth again, meticulously counting the six heavily armed men accompanying a carriage that ominously carried an empty iron cage.
However...
his focus soon narrowed down to a single individual.
"You called for help "it wasn't a question.
"yes yes!...p-lease sir help me I beg you!"
Subaru observed the young girl before him, estimating her age to be around fourteen years old. He couldn't help but feel a little bit of pity for her as he took in her appearance, noticing that she was practically naked with only tattered rags barely covering her most intimate areas.— It was evident to Subaru that the girl was a demihuman, specifically a lion cub, based on her physical characteristics. What caught his attention even more was the fact that she was chained up, with restraints around her neck, ankles, and wrists. ——As Subaru's gaze traveled down her body, he noticed traces of blood on her legs, indicating that she had been through some form of struggle or mistreatment...or just both.
The scene before him painted a grim picture of the girl's circumstances, stirring up his anger even more.
"I see..."he closed his eyes for a second then opened them, now glowing faintly "I will help you".
Subaru stood poised for a fight, his gaze shifting between the six men encircling him, their silence and wariness palpable in the tense atmosphere. It seemed that his sudden appearance had caught them off guard, prompting them to approach with caution rather than carelessness——smart.
As they closed in on him, Subaru observed the glint of swords and axes in their hands, a clear indication of their intent to strike at any moment.——but not too smart.
"Enough of your insolence, young boy. It would be wise for you to sheathe your fancy sword and depart from this place. Your presence is nothing but a hindrance to our work!" uttered one of the men, a towering figure adorned with a vibrant yellow beard and wielding an imposing, colossal axe.
Subaru, feeling a tinge of curiosity, let out a faint sigh in response to the man's words.
"What is it you doing for job ?" subaru said steadily tightening his grip on his sword.
"Oi!, Mind your own damn business and stop sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. Just focus on yourself and get the hell out of here before we make you regret ever opening your mouth!" A skinny dude with lengthy emerald locks gripped a small blade this time around. He barked out his words in a tone that reeked of impatience, clearly not in the mood for any— nonsense.
——yeah me neither, but here I am.
"Hahaha.." subaru laughed slightly.
"What's so funny boy!?" said the axe wilding man, apparently annoyed.
"Me, to witness a young girl in distress, being outnumbered and threatened by a group of men like a bunch of street dog's on a cat, and simply walk away without offering any help or support will truly truly disappoint my dear wife and that would just break my heart heh".
A sarcastic expression was adopted by Subaru as he glanced at the men, hoping to irritate them.
"Oi you fucking idiot, I'm going to make you pay for that!,".
——and he apparantly succeeded on that.
Suddenly the scrawny guy threatened, waving his sword aggressively as he advanced towards Subaru.
When...
"That's enough Arthur! " suddenly exclaimed the axe wilding man stopping the scrawny boy on his tracks " Seriously, can you just calm down for a second? It's like you're always on edge, ready to blow up at the slightest thing. You need to learn to control your temper and not let every little thing set you off. It's getting old, boy"
"S-alivar! Take your damn hands off me!, didn't you hear him? he is insulting us of course I would be an—
"Hold on, you interrupted me before I could even finish speaking," he said, firmly gripping his shoulder, cutting him off "I'll be the one taking charge of teaching the boy his manners, so you and the others need to step back and let me do my thing".
Arthur and the rest of the men appeared slightly unsure when they heard his words,
When...
"Okay, Salivar, you can do your thing... and the rest of you can relax," the attractive man declared, sliding his lengthy sword back into its sheath. Now letting go of their hesitation and Following his lead, the other men also put away their weapons and stood down, even Arthur.
"Thanks, David," he addressed the handsome guy, before shifting his gaze towards Subaru. A smile crept onto his face, but it held no warmth or friendliness. "Well, well, boy, it seems we're the only ones left now. But before we proceed, I demand to know your name," he sneered.
Subaru returned the smile, but it was laced with indifference. With a nonchalant tone, he replied, "My name is far too valuable to grace the ears of despicable human filth like you."
Salivar face hardened at the words so every other men in his group "Don't you dare pass judgment on us, kid! We're out here struggling, fighting to survive, and you have the audacity to question our efforts? Life ain't a walk in the park, so we're doing our best to make it through. I think you should understand that boy"
Salivar attempted to maintain composure, pretending to be calm, but Subaru could see right through the facade. The anger simmered just beneath the surface, ready to explode at any moment.
Subaru couldn't help but let out a mocking chuckle.
"What's so funny boy?" He glared.
"I really understand and I really know how hard life can be for some" he said, meeting his glare with a teasing look of self-satisfaction "but you know what else?, I really...really don't give a damn shit about you or your or your friends circumstances... salivar "
That was it
At that salivar's anger erupted, it was like a volcano ready to explode. "Sticking your nose where it doesn't belong, ignoring our polite requests to leave, hurling insults at us, and then having the audacity to call me out by name without revealing yours!?, well that's the last straw. I'm going to show you what real pain is, boy!".
"Yeah do your best..." Subaru's lips curled into a malicious smirk as he tightened his grip on his sword. The man standing before him was a towering giant, easily reaching seven feet in height.
Subaru couldn't help but scoff at the idea that they thought this behemoth could pose a threat to him. It was laughable, really. No matter the size or the number of people they threw at him, they were all insignificant compared to Subaru's immense power.
——Let's just have some fun with this one.
He relished in the thought of the upcoming fight, knowing that it would be nothing more than a mere amusement for him.
"Get ready to choke on your own words, boy!." Salivar angrily proclaimed, relishing in the impending suffering he believed he would unleash upon Subaru. With a surge of adrenaline, he charged towards Subaru, his massive ax poised to strike.
As he closed in on his target, Salivar swung his weapon down with a ferocity that could shatter mountains.
——But little did he know, Subaru was not one to be underestimated.
"Hah! Is that the best you've got, Salivar?" Subaru taunted, his voice dripping with contempt.—— The audacity of this giant asshole for him to think he could best me was laughable.
With lightning-fast reflexes, Subaru effortlessly dodged Salivar's feeble attempt at an attack, he was just standing a mere inch where the ax landed
"Huh! H- it dosen't matter " Salivar's face contorted with surprise for a fleeting moment, but he quickly composed himself. With a determined grip on his ax, he swung it horizontally, aiming to strike Subaru.
However...
"Useless.." Subaru calmly tilted his head, effortlessly evading the weapon as it sailed over him. Undeterred, Salivar persisted, launching another swing, only to be met with the same result. Time and time again, Salivar attempted to land a blow on Subaru, but the agile Subaru effortlessly sidestepped each attack, almost mocking Salivar's feeble attempts——and that's also from a dangerously close distances.
...
"Damn it, Salivar's size may be big, but his speed still surpasses all of us. It's absolutely terrifying to witness a boy of his age effortlessly playing with him like that," David exclaimed, seeking refuge behind a sturdy tree alongside his comrades. They were all wary of the possibility of being hit by Salivar, which seemed to them like a colossal beast wielding an axe, roaming the area.
However...
to their surprise, the boy remained calm and composed, smiling even, while still evading each attack flawlessly, almost like a phantom.
"I think we should do something, this boy is just mock—
"NO!" David responded to Arthur cutting him off"
"Arthur, pay attention! We need to heed Salivar's advice. That lad may be skilled at dodging attacks, but I highly doubt he has the strength to launch a successful offensive. Let's not underestimate him, but let's also not overestimate his abilities. For now We must wait with caution and be prepared for any scenario that may unfold...alright?"
"...okay as you wish" he nodded, albeit hesitantly, but that was enough for David as he smiled at him.
"Good " With a confident nod, he acknowledged the satisfactory response, but his attention swiftly shifted towards the remaining men behind him. "One of you, without delay, retrieve the girl. We cannot afford any mishaps where she becomes an unintended target of salivar's ax," he commanded, his voice resonating with authority.
The trio of men exchanged glances, their eyes filled with hesitation as they silently deliberated on who would go. Eventually, a weathered, rugged man with a thick beard and wild hair rose from the ground and declared, "I'll handle this," before striding away carefully.
With that done David's attention shifted to the ongoing fight,"Don't let us down, Salivar! We're counting on you to bring this to an end," he whispered under his breath.
...
"You insolent boy! Hold your position or prepare to duel!"Once more, Salivar's axe swiped, missing its mark once again.
"You better believe it, Salivar! If I had launched an attack right from the beginning, this fight wouldn't have stretched out for so long!" Subaru confidently declared, swiftly evading yet another swing of the menacing ax by gracefully leaning back and then propelling himself into a nimble jump. —As Salivar persisted with his relentless onslaught, Subaru astutely observed him, and as a result he noted that his attacks were growing increasingly fierce and savage.
However...
Subaru remained unperturbed, fully aware that Salivar's heightened aggression would ultimately prove futile against his power——But he won't go all out anyw—
"No! Leave me alone! ...Mister!..help me pl-ease!".
Suddenly Subaru's ears picked up the piercing sound of the girl's cry for help. Without hesitation, Subaru turned towards the direction of the desperate plea and spotted the creepy figure, of a gray wiled haired old man, dragging the helpless girl away by the hair. Feeling a surge of anger, Subaru let out a heavy sigh before locking eyes with Salivar, who was charging towards him like a madman.
The tension in the air was palpable as Subaru made a choice.
——I think it's time to finish this charade.
"Alright, Salivar, you think you can handle me in a fight? Well, I'm heading straight towards you now!," Subaru proclaimed, his eyes gleaming with power as he gripped his razor-sharp sword tightly. With his body poised in a lunge position, Salivar couldn't help but halt his charge, realizing the seriousness on Subaru's words.
Salivar grinned " I see, then come here little boy show me what you got!" He declared, waving his ax in the air vigorously.
Subaru wasted no time as he closed the distance between him and Salivar.
"NO YOU WON'T!" Salivar was surprised at the speed that subaru just come at him, but he composed himself before launching a powerful attack by swinging his ax downward.
"Useless endeavor ..." but Subaru dismissed it as a futile effort. With a swift motion, Subaru drew his sword and intercepted the ax, surprising salivar and all the other men with the sheer strength behind his thin orange blade.
The collision between the ax and the sword resulted in a powerful impact, sending the ax flying high into the air, out of Salivar's grasp.
"H-how!?" Stupefied, Salivar remained frozen in astonishment, while Subaru casually shrugged his shoulders.
"What's the matter? Can't handle a little challenge?" Subaru taunted, a smirk playing on his lips as he effortlessly dodged Salivar's feeble attempts to land a hit with his bare fist.
"Alright salivar your turn is over".
"Guh!"
With a swift movement, Subaru delivered a powerful blow that sent Salivar flying through the air, crashing into a nearby tree with a sickening thud. The impact was so forceful that the tree uprooted, falling to the ground with a loud crash.
" Guhh!" Salivar groaned in pain, struggling to get back on his feet as Subaru was suddenly standing tall over him, his confidence radiating like a blazing fire.
"Oh, how the tables have turned! Just a fleeting moment ago, you were, casting your gaze down upon me as if a bug. But now, the tides have shifted salivar, and now it is I who stands tall, peering down upon you. Life has a peculiar way of reminding us that fortunes can change in an instant, leaving you humbled and me reveling in sweet victory. So salivar you should savor this moment, for it is a testament to the unpredictable nature of life itself...and That injustice can't last for long, unpunished"
With that said, Subaru unleashed a devastating kick directly to Salivar's face, rendering him unconscious in an instant.
——but then.
"Keep your hands away from salivar, you basterd!" Arthur's angry voice echoed through the air, and With a swift movement, he swung his sword towards Subaru, who effortlessly evaded the strike.
——Right there still five of them.
"You baster–Guhh!"
Enraged Arthur swung his sword again, only for Subaru to swiftly dodged his feeble sword strike and retaliated with a devastating punch to Arthur's abdomen.
The force of the blow was so intense that it sent Arthur crashing to the ground, writhing in pain and coughing up blood.
"You're not going to die from this, just stay down for now." A low sigh escaped subaru as he said so.
It apparant that Subaru's superior combat skills and raw power left no doubt in anyone's mind that he was the true victor in this confrontation.
And for that reason...
"Enough is enough! Spare us any further torment, we surrender! Just spare us and you can have the girl," pleaded David, his voice trembling with fear. In a surprising turn of events, he dropped to his knees, and to Subaru's astonishment, the rest of the men followed suit, mirroring his submissive posture.
Subaru couldn't help but smirk at the sight, relishing in the power he held over them, but also...
——I wasn't going to kill them anyway, but it's a good thing they thought I meant it.
Subaru shrugged in mock indifference, returning his attention to the men bowing down to him, "So be it, now the girl give her to me".
At his word's David hurriedly gestured towards one of the men, specifically the elderly individual with unruly hair, who was forcefully leading the girl towards Subaru. As the girl was positioned in front of him.
——Something isn't right, about this girl.
Suddenly Subaru caught a whiff of something unpleasant emanating from the girl, causing his face to contort in disgust momentarily before returning to its usual indifferent expression as he turned his attention back to the group of men.——Not now, not yet let's finish this first.
"Now can we go?" David's voice carried a mix of hope and nerves, but Subaru couldn't help but smirk, relishing in the knowledge that he would shatter that hope.
——Entering the bathroom is not the same as leaving it, they say.
" Yeah, I promised to release you, but you still have to pay the tribute." The men appeared perplexed by his statement, unsure of what he meant. However, Subaru chose to clarify his words and simplify the situation by adding simply, "In other words, I'm going to give you a good beating."
