Episode 333: Hoenn Final Battle
Last time, Sora has been paired with Tyson as his opponent for his next battle. During the battle Tyson has proven himself to be a formidable opponent, but leading up to Metagross, Sora managed to lose some of his Pokémon, but his Aggron managed to overcome it. Saving Meowth for last, Meowth has defeated Sora's Aggron and battled hard against Pikachu. Using Tyson's Thunderbolt shield against him, Sora managed to earn his victory over him, so now, Sora is up against his friend, rival, and fellow Keyblade wielder, Brendan. Both Sora and Brendan knew what has to be done, and they have to give it everything they've got. The final battle is about to begin.
But before we get to that...
(Flashback)
We open up to a scene where Master Xehanort is standing in a vast void. It was after Master Xehanort has gained control over Gaia's body and became apprenticed to Ansem the Wise.
"Darkness rules your heart. It gives me control. Muscle and sinew that once obeyed you now rebel against you. How you can remain here at all confounds the mind," Master Xehanort said.
Master Xehanort is talking to Gaia.
"It's still my heart. You think you can just come in and take over? I'm not gonna sit by and let that happen," Gaia said.
"Hmph, don't even entertain any notions of escaping me, boy. In the end, your heart will be engulfed by mine forever," Master Xehanort said.
"Wrong. You're gonna get shown the door, old man," Gaia said.
"As I recall, you couldn't even handle your own darkness. How will you triumph over mine?" Master Xehanort asked.
"You'll find out soon enough," Gaia said. Master Xehanort looked right at Gaia and an image of Eraqus appeared in his eye before he blinked.
"Oh, so that's how it is, is it? Someone else has set foot in your heart. Eraqus, you sly fox…" Master Xehanort said.
"I'm not afraid of what the darkness holds now," Gaia said as he puts his hand over his chest. "Even if you do wrest control of my heart from me, even if you cast me into the deepest, darkest abyss… You'll never sway me from the one cause that pushes me to keep on fighting. Whatever the cost, I'm ready to pay it."
"Brave words to be sure. But I'm a patient man. We can take as much time as we need to settle this little property dispute. However, know this. You are just one of many roads that I might choose to take. Trust me, I've made certain of that," Master Xehanort chuckles evilly.
(End of flashback)
In the present, Brendan is currently selescting his six Pokémon to use against Sora. Since it was Sora he was up against, he had to choose carefully. He made his choice. He chose Sceptile and Charizard as among the six. He also took his Raichu, Salamence, Swampert, and Gyarados as his final four.
After seeing Sora in action, I'll have to be ready for anything he throws at me," Brendan said. He started to make his way to the stadium only to bump into someone. "Ow! That hurts!"
"Sorry about that, young man," a familiar voice spoke. Brendan recognized that voice. He saw it was his father.
"Dad?!" Brendan exclaimed. Professor Birch saw it was his son he bumped into.
"Son! I don't believe it! It's really you!" Professor Birch said.
"I'm happy to see you, dad, but what are you doing here?" Brendan asked.
"What do you think? I came here to root for my boy in this momentous occasion! I would have come a lot sooner, but you know how I get sidetracked with my work," Professor Birch said. Brendan laughed nervously.
"And it's any wonder that mom puts up with it at all," Brendan said under his breath. "Anyway, have you gotten a hold of mom since getting here?"
"Actually, it was your mother who contacted me and filled me in. As soon as I heard that you made it to the finals, I dropped what I was doing and got here as fast as I could. And that timing is just so perfect to see you in the final round! Congrats!" Professor Birch praised his son. "Again, sorry for not being here sooner."
"It's okay, dad. What matters is that you made it here," Brendan said.
"Also, I heard from Norman that you're in a relationship with his daughter, is that right?" Professor Birch teased, making Brendan blush.
"Dad!" Brendan exclaimed, making him laugh. "Wait, when exactly did you find out?"
"Just a few days ago. Caroline told your mother and Norman told me. And I could tell you, your mother busted a button when she heard the news. I knew you had a thing for her when you were little," Professor Birch said, making Brendan blush.
"You knew about my crush, dad?" Brendan asked.
"Can't fool me, kiddo. I knew right from the day you and she met. I knew you would be happy to get your first Pokémon right at the same time, so I personally arranged the two of you to meet again," Professor Birch admitted.
"Yeah, but you also brought Sora, Kairi, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, and Lyra with you, too. And speaking of Sora, that's who I'm up against in the final battle," Brendan said.
"Is that right? It shoudn't surprise me since he made it so far after his journeys in the Kanto and Johto regions. Also, I heard Kairi has accomplished so much as well," Professor Birch said.
"Yeah, but May got second in the Grand Festival. She came so close," Brendan said. "I plan on giving it all I got against Sora."
"I know you will, son. Just know that I'll always be proud of you win or lose. All that matters is that you do your best. Your mother will be watching on TV as I'll be watching you from the stands," Professor Birch said.
"Thanks, dad," Brendan said.
Over to Sora, after healing six of his Pokémon, Sora had to give it a lot of thought, so he decided to go with Pikachu, Swellow, Sceptile, Blaziken, Swampert, and Salamence for the match.
"Here goes," Sora said.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said.
In Pallet Town, Delia, Professor Oak, Daisy, Tracey, Yuta, Mirei, Seth, Kairi's grandmother, Danny, Cattleya, Yuki, Mimey, and the Pichu are watching the event on TV as well.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are now aboout to begin the concluding battle here in the Evergrande Stadium! The final battle between Sora from Pallet Town is up against Brendan from LIttleroot Town! This will be a full six-on-six battle and the battle will be over when all of either Trainer's Pokémon are unabe to keep on battling! The only difference will be from the previous battle is, there will be no fifteen minute break! Which one will emerge victorious? Will be Sora to earn a third Pokémon League Champion title in a row, or will it Brendan? This battle shall decide that fact once and for all!" The announcer announced. In one part of the stands, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, Max, Lisia, Zinnia, Rei, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, Marill, and Aster are watching the battle to begin as Wally sat with Tyson, Morrison, Harrison, Vito, and Katie in another section. Ben along with Hikaru, Blake, Nora, Elise, Kiera, Charmaine, Gilbert, Monica, Martin, Sienna, Jeanette, Avala, Isabelle, and Tiffany sat in another section as Jay sat in a different section. The DigiDestined teams were sitting with Yugi, Téa, Joey, Tristan, Bakura, Duke, Mai, and Serenity. Elsewhere, Count Ernesh along with Kanako, Genishiro, and Lucius were watching the event from a magical screen. The referee stepped out and he gave the word.
"Trainers! Choose your first Pokémon and begin!" The referee called out. Brendan got a Pokéball ready and threw it.
"You're going in first, Raichu!" Brendan called out as his Raichu makes its entry. Sora looked over to Pikachu and knew he wants to go up against Raichu.
"You're in first, Pikachu," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said, entering the battlefield.
"Brendan begins the match by sending out a Raichu while Sora is sending out Pikachu!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu! Start up with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. PIkachu dashed right towards his evolved form with lightning speed.
"We'll use Quick Attack, too! Raichu! Go!" Brendan ordered. Raichu ran across the battlefield and collides with Pikachu.
"Pikachu and Raichu begin with coming at each other with Quick Attack!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered.
"Raichu! Use Thunder!" Brendan ordered. Pikachu and Raichu both use their electric attacks and they block each other.
"Pikachu and Raichu are putting everything they have in Thunderbolt and Thunder! What a real clash of power!" The announcer announced.
"Use Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu jumps to use Iron Tail at Raichu.
"Raichu! Use Reflect!" Brendan ordered. Raichu makes a clear barrier and Pikachu's Iron Tail bounces off.
"Pikachu's Iron Tail bounces off with Raichu's Reflect!" The announcer announced.
"Now, it's time to let out Raichu's strongest move! Use Volt Tackle!" Brendan ordered as Raichu comes at Pikachu with a powerful electric chage.
"Iron Tail right into the ground!" Sora oordered. PIkachu slams his tail. Raichu rams into Pikachu and slides through the ground.
"Incredible! Pikachu uses Iron Tail and takes the hit from that Volt Tackle! Where does he come up with this stuff?!" The announcer exclaimed.
"I'm sure that it just comes naturally," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Wow, that was awesome! No one was ever to withstand Raichu's Volt Tackle like that! But it's not over yet!" Brendan said. "Keep going on Pikachu!"
"Pikachu! Push Raichu off!" Sora called out. Raichu attempts to go at it, but Pikachu pushes Raichu off and goes backwards. "Okay, Pikachu, don't overdo it! Come on back!" Pikachu returns to Sora's side.
"Sora's calling back his Pikachu to send out his next Pokémon!" The announcer announced as Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"You're going in, Sceptile!" Sora called out. Sceptile emerged from inside, placing his twig in his mouth.
"Sora is sending out Sceptile to deal with Raichu!" The announcer announced.
"Raichu's Electric-type attacks won't do much damage on Sceptile, but why Sceptile? Wouldn't it make more sense if he sent out Swampert?" Max asked.
"It would, but I think he plans to give Brendan a fighting chance since Sora and Brendan knows Swampert will be resistant to Electric-type attacks," Roxas said.
"A Grass-type, huh? Fine with me! Raichu! Use Volt Tackle!" Brendan ordered. Raichu charges at Sceptile with Volt Tackle.
"Dodge it and use Seed Bomb!" Sora ordered. Sceptile dodged Raichu's Volt Tackle and spat out a Seed Bomb at Raichu, landing a hit.
"Use Leaf Blade!" Sora ordered. Sceptile lands a Leaf Blade, landing a hit onto Raichu, knocking the Mouse Pokémon out.
"Raichu is unable to battle! Sceptile wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora takes the lead by taking out Brendan's Raichu!" The announcer announced. Brendan calls back his Raichu and took out his next Pokéball.
"Okay, Salamence! Go!" Brendan called out. His Pokéball opened and his Salamence came out to battle.
"Brendan's second Pokémon is a Salamence! Salamence has the advantage since Sceptile is a Grass-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced. Sora calls his Sceptile back and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Let's make this a mirror match! Salamence! Go!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and his Salamence came out to battle.
"We got ourselves Salamence vs Salamence! It is a known fact that Dragon-type Pokémon are vulnerable to Dragon-type attacks, but that's what makes the battle even more interesting!" The announcer announced.
"Salamence! Use Dragon Rush!" Brendan ordered. Brendan's Salamence flew right at Sora's Salamence with incredible speed.
"Dodge and use Dragon Pulse!" Sora ordered. Sora's Salamence dodged and unleashed a Dragon Pulse, hitting Brendan's Salamence. "Use Dragon Claw!" Sora's Salamence flew at Brendan's Salamence and landed a hit.
"Sora's Salamance lands some serious damage with that Dragon Pulse! I doubt Brendan is going to take that laying down!" The announcer announced.
"Salamence! Flamethrower!" Brendan ordered.
"You use Flamethrower, too!" Sora ordered. Both Salamence fired Flamethrower, colliding into each other. They held on, firing Flamethrower and not giving an inch to one another. An explosion occurred between the both of them, dealing some damage on the both of them.
"Both Salamence have dealt a devastating amount of damage on each other, but it looks like they're still willing to keep going!" The announcer announced.
"Use Dragon Rush!" Brendan ordered. Brendan's Salamence flew at Brendan's Salamence with Dragon Rush.
"Dodge and use Dragon Claw!" Sora ordered. Sora's Salamence dodged and slashed at Brendan's Salamence on the back. "Use Dragon Pulse!" Sora's Salamence unleashed another Dragon Pulse, hitting Brendan's Salamence, landing on the ground. Brendan's Salamence tried to get back up in the air.
"Brendan's Salamence is trying to stay in the sky, but it has taken too much damage from that fall!" The announcer announced.
"Use Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Sora's Salamence fired Flamethrower at Brendan's Salamence, knocking it out.
"Brendan's Salamence is unable to battle! Sora's Salamence wins!" The referee announced.
"And Salamence makes Pokémon number two Brendan lost to Sora! With four Pokémon left to spare, Brendan will have to think of a huge comeback!" The announcer announced. Brendan called back his Salamence and he smiled.
"You did your best, Salamence. Get yourself a good, long rest," Brendan said. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Charizard! It's your turn!" His Pokéball opened and Charizard came out to battle.
"Brendan's third Pokémon is a Charizard! Will keep Salamence out to keep battling or will Sora trade his Salamence for Pikachu, or could it be a Water or Rock-type?" The announcer asked. Sora calls Salamence back and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Swampert! You're up!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and Swampert came out to battle.
"Sora's fourth Pokémon is a Swampert, a Water-type!" The announcer announced.
"So Sora's sending Swampert out to deal with Charizard. It's a smart move since Swampert's a Water-type," Xion said.
"Yeah, but Swampert's Ground-type moves won't touch Charizard since it's a Flying-type, too," Max said.
"Also, Brendan's Charizard knows Thunder Punch, so that's not going to work," Lisia said.
"Gotta give Sora credit for sending his Swampert after me like that; especially when Thunder Punch won't have any affect on Swampert. That isn't going to stop me. Charizard! Use Wing Attack!" Charizard charges at the Mud Fish Pokémon with its wings spread out.
"Dodge and use Waterfall!" Sora ordered. Swampert slides under Charizard and goes up, surrounded by water. Charizard is struck by Swampert's Waterfall. "Use Hydro Pump!"
"Dodge and use Dragon Claw!" Brendan ordered. Charizard dodged and lands a Dragon Claw in the face. "Use Flamethrower!" Charizard fires a powerful Flamethrower into Swampert, dealing some damage. Swampert didn't take much from that Flamethrower.
"Charizard has given Swampert a huge dose of Flamethrower, but it didn't look like it did too much since being a Water-type!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Swampert! Use Muddy Water!" Sora ordered.
"Dodge and use Wing Attack!" Brendan ordered. Charizard flew right into Swampert before he could use Muddy Water. Charizard drops Swampert down to the ground. Swampert has taken some heavy damage from the fall.
"That was a real nasty fall!" The announcer announced. Swampert was staggering around, and Sora could see Swampert wasn't going to last much longer. He quickly called Swampert back and he took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Swellow! You're up!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and Swellow came out to battle.
"Sora's fifth Pokémon is Swellow!" The announcer announced.
"I was hoping you'd mess up eventually. Charizard! Use Thunder Punch!" Brendan ordered. Charizard came at the Swallow Pokémon with a Thunder Punch.
"Double Team!" Sora ordered. Swellow made several copies of himself. Charizard punches a duplicate instead of the real one. Brendan grits his teeth.
"I'm the one who messed up. I forgot Sora's Swellow knows Double Team," Brendan said in his thoughts.
"Use Aerial Ace!" Sora ordered. Swellow and the duplicates darts at Charizard, landing a heavy hit onto the Flame Pokémon.
"Charizard sure felt that with that combined Aerial Ace!" The announcer announced.
"Charizard! Flamethrower! Don't stop using it until you find the real one!" Brendan ordered. Charizard uses Flamethrower on the duplicates, making them vanish. Charizard keeps using it until the real one is found. "Great! Use Thunder Punch!" Charizard flew at Swellow, landing an electrified punch. Swellow fell on the ground, beaten from the electrified attack.
"Swellow is unable to battle! Charizard wins!" The referee wins!" The referee announced.
"Brendan finally takes down one of Sora's Pokémon! Let's hope Charizard can mount a second win from Sora's team!" The announcer announced as Sora calls Swellow back. He saw how tired Charizard looked.
"You did great, Swellow. You tired Charizard like I wanted you to. Get some rest," Sora said. He took out Swampert's Pokéball and threw it. "Swampert! Back to action!" His Pokéball opened and Swampert came back out to battle.
"Looks like Swampert is back out for a second round!" The announcer announced.
"Charizard! Use Wing Attack!" Brendan ordered. Charizard flew at Swampert with Wing Attack.
"Muddy Water!" Sora ordered. Swampert waited for Charizard to get closer and fired Muddy Water, hitting the Flame Pokémon on the mark. "Use Waterfall!" Swampert launches himself at Charizard and lands a hit onto Swampert. Charizard lands on the ground, trying to get back up.
"Swampert lands a water combo onto its opponent! Can it keep going?" The announcer asked. Charizard fell backwards, too exhausted to keep going.
"Charizard is unable to battle! Swampert wins!" The referee announced.
"Swampert has trounced Charizard, derailing Brendan's comeback!" The announcer announced. Brendan calls his Charizard back and he took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Swampert! You're going in!" Brendan called out. His Pokéball opened and Brendan's Swampert came out to battle Sora's Swampert.
"And we got ourselves another mirror match on our hands!" The announcer announced.
"Swampert! Use Waterfall!" Sora ordered. Sora's Swampert comes at Brendan's Swampert with a Waterfall, but Brendan has an ace up his sleeve.
"Ice Punch!" Brendan ordered. Brendan's Swampert lands an Ice Punch onto Sora's Swampert, freezing both the Pokémon and the water.
"I don't believe what I am seeing, ladies and gentlemen! Brendan's Swampert literally gave Sora's Swampert the cold shoulder, along with everything else!" The announcer announced.
"Use Hammer Arm!" Brendan's Swampert swings both arms, breaking the ice and knocking Sora's Swampert. He was knocked out from the attack.
"Sora's Swampert is unable to battle! Brendan's Swampert wins!" The referee announced.
"And Sora loses his second Pokémon! Brendan has comeback started to come, but how will long will it take until Sora derails it again?" The announcer asked.
"Sceptile is the only one who has the advantage over Brendan's Swampert, and the problem is that Ice Punch, which spells trouble for Salamence, too. Pikachu's Thunderbolt and Electro Ball won't do a thing, and Blaziken's a no-go. With Swellow taken down, my options are limited," Sora said, taking out Sceptile's Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Sceptile! Back to action!" His Pokéball opens and Sceptile came back out, placing the twig back in his mouth.
"Sora sends his Sceptile back out to battle!" The announcer announced.
"Swampert! Use Ice Punch!" Brendan ordered. Swampert rushes at Sceptile with Ice Punch.
"Dodge and use Bullet Seed!" Sora ordered. Sceptile avoids Swampert's Ice Punch and fires Bullet Seed, landing several hits.
"Swampert! Use Hammer Arm!" Brendan ordered. Swampert jumps in the air and comes down at Sceptile.
"Here comes Swampert with that Hammer Arm!" The announcer announced.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Sceptile dodges Swampert's Hammer Arm, allowing the Mud Fish Pokémon to hit the ground instead.
"That was close! Sceptile's speed saved it!" The announcer announced.
"Use Leaf Blade!" Sora ordered. Sceptile came at Swampert and lands a Leaf Blade, knocking Swampert out.
"Swampert is unable to battle! Sceptile wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora has driven Brendan down to two Pokémon left to use!" The announcer announced.
"Man, if I hadn't already lose Charizard, it would have been a whole lot easier, but knowing Sora, he doesn't do easy. Well, neither will I!" Brendan said to himself. He took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Gyarados! It's your turn!" His Pokéball opened and Gyarados roared upon entry.
"Brendan's fifth Pokémon is Gyarados, another Water-type!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Gyarados! Use Rain Dance!" Brendan ordered. Gyarados summons rain clouds and it started to rain.
"Gyarados starts up with Rain Dance! What could Brendan be planning with that?" The announcer asked.
"Okay, Sceptile! Use Leaf Blade!" Sora ordered.
"Use Hurricane!" Brendan ordered. Gyarados unleashed a burst of hurricane wind at the Forest Pokémon, dealing some heavy damage.
"That was a good, clean hit!" Lyra said.
"I'll say it is. Using Hurricane during Rain Dance is a sure-fire way to earn heavy damage!" Ash said.
"Okay, Gyarados! Use Hurricane again!" Brendan ordered. Gyarados unleashed another Hurricane, striking Sceptile, earning some heavy damage. Sceptile is knocked out.
"Sceptile is unable to battle! Gyarados wins!" The referee announced.
"And Sceptile makes three Sora has lost to Brendan! How will Sora be able to turn the tide against Gyarados?" The announcer asked. Sora calls Sceptile back. He turned to Pikachu.
"You're going back out there, Pikachu. I know you can handle that Gyarados," Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu agreed as he stepped back into the battlefield, ready to battle.
"Sora's sending Pikachu back out to battle! This should be interesting!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu! Electro Ball!" Sora ordered. Pikachu forms a ball of electricity and threw it at Gyarados. Brendan just smirked.
"Hurricane!" Brendan ordered as Gyarados releases a strong gust of wind from its mouth canceling out Electro Ball before the attack could hit. It stops raining.
"Gyarados has blocked out Electro Ball with Hurricane! What other tricks could the prince has up his sleeve?" The announcer asked.
"You will see," Brendan said. "Gyarados! Rain Dance!" Gyarados roars as it forms a rain cloud and it began to rain again.
"Gyarados has used Rain Dance! Could he trying to throw Sora off guard with the weather?" The announcer asked.
"Won't work! Pikachu! Use Quick Attack!" Sora ordered as Pikachu ran across the battlefield and charged into Gyarados. "Now smack it with Iron Tail!" Pikachu jumped up and ran onto Gyarados's back. When he reached Gyarados's head, Pikachu smacked the Atrocious Pokémon on the side of the head. "Now use Thunderbolt!"
"Gyarados! Hurricane!" Brendan ordered. Gyarados created a tornado from the cloud and it trapped Pikachu inside.
"Pikachu!" Sora shouted.
"Astounding! By using Rain Dance and Hurricane Gyarados has trapped Pikachu inside a tornado! How will Sora get himself out of this one?!" The announcer asked. Sora looked at the twister and got an idea.
"Pikachu! Can you hear me in there?!" Sora called out.
"PIKA!" Pikachu answered through the tornado.
"Good! Use Thunderbolt on the tornado!" Sora called out. Everyone were caught off guard with that. Brendan shared everyone's confusion.
"What is he trying to do?" Brendan asked.
Pikachu used Thunderbolt on the tornado and it created electric currents. With that successful, Sora had to the next phase of his plan to work.
"Pikachu is using Thunderbolt right on the tornado!" The announcer announced. "And it has electric currents running through it! What is he trying to do?!"
"Pikachu! Use Quick Attack on the electric currents!" Sora called out as Pikachu ran across them. "Okay, Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt right in that rain cloud!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fired Thunderbolt right into the rain cloud. The cloud turned darker as it let out a huge bolt of yellow lightning and it strikes the battlefield. Pikachu ducks down with his tail sticking up.
"Sora has created a lightning storm and Pikachu is using its tail as a lightning rod!" The announcer announced.
With that lightning increasing Pikachu's power, Sora knew which move to finish off Gyarados with.
"Okay Pikachu! Electro Ball! And make it a big one!" Sora called out. Pikachu forms a ball of electricity, but it got larger and larger in each passing second until it reached its limit.
"I am not believing what I am seeing! Pikachu is creating a ball of electricity and he plans on letting it go!" The announcer announced. Brendan looked worried now as he knew what was coming. And Gyarados's Hurricane might not be able to stop it since it used up most of its energy. "Could it be all over for Gyarados?!"
"Ready! Aim! And SHOOT!" Sora called out. "Pikachu threw the oversized Electro Ball and went towards Gyarados. When the attack hits, Gyarados lets out a loud painful roar as electricity ran through its body. Gyarados falls to the ground in a daze and overwhelmed by the electric power unleashed. The weather returned to normal.
"Gyarados is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The referee announced.
"And Gyarados makes number five! It looks like it could all over for Brendan!" The announcer announced as Brendan calls his Gyarados back.
"You were awesome, Gyarados. Get yourself a good rest," Brendan said. He took out his sixth and final Pokéball. "Well, I've been saving you for last. It started with the two of us, and it might as well end with the two of us. Sceptile! Go!" Brendan threw his Pokéball. Sceptile came out to battle.
"And Brendan has selected Sceptile as his final Pokémon! Let's see if Brendan's Sceptile will make any difference like Sora's Sceptile did!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu, come back for now," Sora said. Pikachu returned to Sora's side and he took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Blaziken! Go!" His Pokéball opened and Blaziken came out to battle against Sceptile.
"And Sora's sixth Pokémon is a Blaziken! Sora has gained the advantage since it's a Fire-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Blaziken! Use Fire Punch!" Sora ordered. Blaziken rushes at Sceptile with Fire Punch.
"Dodge and use Dragon Claw!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile dodges Blaziken's Fire Punch and lands a Dragon Claw on the mark. "Use Seed Bomb!" Sceptile fires Seed Bomb and hits the Blaze Pokémon on the mark. Since Blaziken was close to Sceptile, he has taken some heavy damage.
"Blaziken! Blaze Kick!" Sora ordered. Blaziken came at Sceptile with his leg emitting fire.
"Dodge it and use Solar Blade!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile avoids Blaziken's Blaze Kick and begins to build up solar energy into Sceptile's leaves.
"Sceptile is preparing to use its Solar Blade!" The announcer announced.
"Sky Uppercut!" Sora ordered. Blaziken rushes at Sceptile with a Sky Uppercut, but misses as Sceptile ducks his head. Sceptile slashed at Blaziken with Solar Blade, dealing some heavy damage.
"Wow! Sceptile gives Blaziken a shiny Solar Blade! I can bet my fortune that Blaziken would end up being blinded by Sceptile's Solar Blade!" The announcer announced.
"Blaziken! Use Fire Punch!" Sora ordered.
"Dragon Claw!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile lands a Dragon Claw on Blaziken, resulting in a knockout.
"Blaziken is unable to battle! Sceptile wins!" The referee announced.
"Oh, tough break for Sora! A Grass-type Pokémon has beaten a Fire-type! Sora is now down to just two Pokémon remaining! It's going to take a miracle to turn it around!" The announcer announced. Sora calls Blaziken back.
"You did your best, Blaziken. You've earned yourself a good rest," Sora said. He took out Salamence's Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Salamence! Back to action!" His Pokéball opened and Salamence came out to battle again.
"And Salamence is sent back out to battle! Sceptile's Grass-type moves won't do much on a Dragon-type like Salamence!" The announcer announced.
"Be careful, Salamence. Brendan's Sceptile can use Dragon Claw, too," Sora said. Salamence lightly roared, understanding. "Okay, use Flamethrower!" Salamence fired Flamethrower at the Forest Pokémon.
"Dodge with Trailblaze!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile springs on the battlefield, avoiding Salamence's Flamethrower.
"Sceptile dodges Salamence's Flamethrower with special thanks to Trailblaze!" The announcer announced.
"Use Trailblaze to jump on Salamence's back!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile jumps on the Dragon Pokémon's back.
"Sceptile is holding on to Salamence and it's not letting go!" The announcer announced.
"Salamence! Fly!" Sora ordered. Salamence flew up in the air, carrying Sceptile with him.
"Salamence is carrying Sceptile in the sky with it! If Salamence is trying to shake Sceptile off, it doesn't look like it's working! Hope the blood doesn't rush to Sceptile's head!" The announcer announced. Salamence then starts to dive down. Sora was hoping the speed from Salamence's Fly would be enough to shake his opponent off. "Salamence is coming down like a meteor! This could be it!"
"Use Seed Bomb!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile fired a Seed Bomb, hitting Salamence on the back. It affects Salamence's balance, so Sceptile jumped off as soon as Salamence was close enough to the ground. Salamence hits the ground pretty hard, but he wasn't down yet, and Brendan was hoping for that. "Okay, Sceptile! Dragon Claw!" Sceptile gave Salamence one more slash with Dragon Claw and it was enough to take Salamence down.
"Salamence is unable to battle! Sceptile wins!" The referee announced.
"Now that both Trainers has one left to use! This is the last chance for any one of them to earn that winner's trophy and go home a champion!" The announcer announced. Sora looked over to Pikachu.
"You're up again, Pikachu," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said. He entered the battlefield and ready to face Sceptile.
"Now, it's Sceptile vs Pikachu! Pikachu's Electric-type attacks won't even phase Sceptile, but you can bet your boots, ladies and gentlemen, that miracles has happened before and Sceptile's triumph over Blaziken and Salamence was no exception! And let's see of Pikachu still has some electricity left to battle after using it on Gyarados! Now, let's get this final match, get underway!" The announcer announced.
"Sceptile! Dragon Claw!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile came at Pikachu, ready to swipe at Pikachu.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dodges Sceptile's attack with his speed attack. "Now, use Iron Tail!" Pikachu jumps and lands an Iron Tail on the chest. "Now, use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu gives Sceptile a shock of Thunderbolt. It wasn't very effective, but it still hurts.
"End it with Leaf Storm!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile fires Leaf Storm right at Pikachu.
"Brendan really wants to end this battle badly! He's having his Sceptile let a Leaf Storm rage on!" The announcer announced.
"Pikachu! Dodge it with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu runs to dodge Sceptile's attack. Pikachu manages to barley dodge the leaves. Pikachu had gotten scrapped by some of them, but managed to get through just fine.
"Sceptile! Solar Blade! Finish Pikachu off!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile builds up energy and comes at Pikachu with Solar Blade, ready to give the final blow to the Mouse Pokémon.
"Pikachu! One more Quick Attack! Make it count!" Sora called out. Pikachu dashed into the Forest Pokémon and lands a hit into his chest. "Now, use Iron Tail!" Pikachu gave Sceptile an Iron Tail onto Sceptile's chest. Sceptile was at last, taken down.
"Sceptile is unable to battle! Pikachu wins! The winner of the battle is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced as the crowd cheered hard as Sora has won the Hoenn Pokémon League competition.
"And the tournament has been decided! Congratulations!" The announcer announced. Brendan helps Sceptile on his feet.
"You okay, Sceptile?" Brendan asked.
"Tile," Sceptile weakly responded.
"You were awesome out there, Sceptile. You gave it everything you had, and I'm so very proud of you," Brendan said. Sceptile smiled. He and Sceptile walked up to Sora and Pikachu. "Congrats on your victory, Sora."
"Thanks, Brendan. You gave it everything you had, and you still would have beaten me," Sora said.
"You're just saying that because you know that's what I wanna hear," Brendan said.
"No, I mean it, man. You would have been Hoenn's Pokémon League Champion with the way you battled. You and your Sceptile came a long way since the day we met," Sora said.
"Well, you helped me out there," Brendan said.
"No, I didn't," Sora corrected Brendan. "You did that by yourself. And you didn't even need a Keyblade to show how strong a Trainer you are." Brendan smiled.
The closing ceremonies had begun as Sora had accepted the winner's trophy from President Goodshow. Brendan, Wally, Morrison, Tyson, Harrison, Blake, Nora, Katie, and many others were applauding with the many Trainers who participated.
With the Hoenn Pokémon League behind them, everyone all headed back to Petalburg City to bring Max home. Ben and his apprentices had already left for home with the exception of Blake and Nora. Wally, Morrison, Tyson, and Harrison went their own way, saying their goodbyes to the group. Yugi, his friends, and the DigiDestined told them that they'll meet them in Slateport City.
"Hard to believe that our adventure in Hoenn is now over," May said.
"Yeah, but it was a thrill, if you don't count the Heartless, the Nobodies, and the Unversed," Leaf said.
They arrived to May and Max's house with their parents waiting for them to come home.
"Welcome home, dears. I missed you very much," Caroline said.
"We missed you, too, mom," May said, hugging her parents.
"I've been watching you on TV. I was mighty impressed and proud of the both of you," Norman said.
"Thanks, Norman," Brendan said.
"It was a blast," Sora said.
"Now that the Hoenn Pokémon League, the Grand Festival, and the Battle Frontier is behind you, what do you plan to do now?" Norman asked.
"Well, for now, it's heading back to Kanto. I promised Roxas here that he deserves to come home again," Sora said.
"Especially with Organization XIII gone," Roxas added.
"Not to mention, Brendan and May still have so much to learn as Keyblade wielders," Rei said.
"Does that mean, you're going with them in Kanto, May?" Caroline asked.
"It does, mom and dad. Brendan's parents have been filled in about the situation, and they understood. Also, it still gives me an excuse to see more of the world," May said.
"We understand, May," Caroline said.
"Just don't forget to contact us every now and then," Norman said.
"I won't forget," May said.
"That'll mean Aster and I won't get to hang with you guy anymore," Zinnia said.
"Whismur," Aster said.
"But it doesn't bother me," Zinnia said.
"Why not?" Ventus asked.
"Because, I can now begin my own journey. My destiny has already been realized, but I still have a journey ahead of me. And I'm going to be with Jay. I'm going to be meeting him in Mauville City," Zinnia said.
"Well, good luck on your journey," Aqua said.
"Likewise," Zinnia said, smiling. "It's been fun hanging out with all of you. And I'm already counting the days to when we can meet again. Until then, everyone."
"Take care," Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"You do the same," Zinnia said, taking her leave.
"What about you, Lisia?" Kairi asked.
"I'm going to head back home as soon as I see you off. But I wanted to do one more thing before you do go," Lisia said.
"What would that be?" Kris asked.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. That'll spoil the surprise," Lisia said.
"Life is full of surprises. And I think life would be boring if we know what all surprises are," Rei said.
"See? She even gets it," Lisia said.
"That makes sense," Terra said.
"Before you do go, how would all like to stay for one more night?" Caroline offered.
"We would like that very much," Ash said.
"And I hope you got something good planned for dinner, because I'm starting to get hungry," Ventus said.
"Me too," Lyra said.
With that said, Caroline has provided her children and their friends to a meal, celebrating their adventures in the Hoenn region and everything else they've accomplished since then.
On the next day, the group have arrived to Slateport City, meeting with Yugi, his friends, and the DigiDestined, but not before Lisia had changed into her signature Pokémon Contest costume and did a livestream. She has Ali right beside her.
"Hiya, all you Contest fans out there! It's me, Lissi, giving you a live feed from right here in Slateport City! Until now, I have been on an incredible journey with some good friends, and there they all are!" Lisia announced as she points the camera at Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, Max, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Marill. "As you can see, among these friends, I am happy to include, Kairi, our top Coordinator, May who is the runner-up, with her boyfriend Brendan Birch, the son of Professor Birch, who came in second during the Hoenn Pokémon League. And I want you all to meet Riku, Naminé, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Karen, Roxas, Xion, Michael, Rui, Wes, Ethan, Ash, Leaf, Kris, and Lyra. And among them includes the Champion of Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn, Sora Ketchum! Is that dazzling?!"
"Dazzling!" The group all said, earning some chuckles from Rei.
"It kinda makes me sad that the journey has to come to an end since we've been through so much together, but I won't be blue, because my friends here would want me to smile!" Lisia said.
"It's true. To all of you watching, just remember that you can never be too far apart from your friends. You're connected to each other through your hearts. Doesn't matter if it's human or Pokémon," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Because friendship can give you strength. And it can light your way from your own personal darkness, and let you overcome your doubts and fears. I learned so much from my friends since then. This is Lissi, closing, and remember to keep smiling!" Lisia said, winking at the camera. "That was awesome."
"I can tell you wanted to do that for a while now," Riku said.
"I did, but that's not the surprise," Lisia admitted.
"It's not?" May asked.
"No. There is one more thing I wanted to give to Kairi and May," Lisia said. A man came out with two cases.
"I brought what you asked for, Lissi," the man said.
"That's the surprise?" Kairi asked.
"It is. Open them and see," Lisia said.
With that said, Kairi and May opened the cases and saw two costumes similar to Lisia's, but each being a different color. Kairi's was gold while May's was pink.
"Lisia. Are these for us?" Kairi asked.
"They are. I had them made specifically made for you. You both showed lots of potential for Contests, so I wanted you both to each have one as a present from me," Lisia said.
"It's a very thoughtful gift, Lisia," May said.
"And we appreciate it very much," Kairi said.
"I would like to try them on," May said.
"Unfortunately, we don't have time," Tai said.
"Tai's right. We have a boat to catch," Yugi said.
"That's right! We're supposed to be at the docks right now!" Sora exclaimed.
With that said, the group heads for the docks with Max and Lisia standing on the opposite side with the rest of the group.
"Are you sure I can't come along with you, May?" Max asked, feeling sad about seeing her sister leave.
"Sorry, Max, we've been over this last night. I appreciate your help, but if I take you with me to Kanto, I might end up being more dependent on you more than I should. Besides, you can put what Kairi taught you about grooming to the ultimate test," May said. Max then smiled and giggled.
"Yeah, you're right about that," Max said.
"I'll make sure Max makes it home okay," Lisia said.
"I know you will, Lisia," May said.
"I hope we get to meet you again," Kris said.
"Me too. I'm already looking forward to it," Lisia said.
"Hey, Ven!" Max called out.
"Yeah, Max?" Ventus asked.
"When I do become a Pokémon Trainer, I'm going to be challenging you to a battle, so you better be ready for me," Max said.
"Yeah, you too!" Ventus said.
Not Trainers yet, but a rivalry was already born between Ventus and Max. These two boys don't plan to go easy on each other.
With that said, the ship has started to sail for Vermillion City as Max and Lisia waved goodbye to the group and they waved back. Lisia's eyes filled with tears, but she kept on smiling. Max was the same way, and he wiped away those tears and stayed strong for his sister.
Now that the journey in Hoenn is behind them, the next journey will soon begin. Or will there other adventures ahead of them? Just wait and see if you wanna find out.
