Jaune "Uh, sir? I've got, um... a question." he misses the tile under Weiss rising into a springboard, rocketing into the air and over the forest, as the platforms activate down the line "So, this landing... strategy thing... Uh, wha-what is it? You're, like, dropping us off or something?"

Ozpin "No. You will be falling."

Jaune "(missing more students being thrown) Oh, uh, I see... So, like, did you hand out parachutes for us?"

Ozpin "No. You will be using your own "landing strategy"."

Jaune "(still not seeing an excited Nora and Ren getting launched) Uh-huh... Yeah."

At her turn, Yang winks at her younger sister, puts on a pair of aviators, and flies off with a "Woo-hoooooooo!" a second before Ruby joins her.

Jaune "So, what exactly is a landing strategYYY!..." He asks this part just when he finally has to get hurled with the cloud of students now making their way down into the forest below under the eyes of the teachers.

Ozpin, for his part, simply takes a sip of his drink.

Hanna "(stops recording with her phone) you enjoyed that"

Ozpin "… I don't know what you speak of (taking another sip to hide his slight smirk)"

Hanna "yeaaa, right. So on another note, when will I have my huntress licence test?"

Ozpin "Yours and Ms Maria's test will be during the coming weekend, though you will still assist Glynda with training the students and checking the security"

Hanna "Good, though it will only be me, Maria already has a license"

Ozpin "I was unaware, would you mind showing?"

Maria did so, bringing up her old huntress license for them to see, Hanna had used her phone to alter it slightly so her last name and date of birth were hidden until a safety code was given.

Ozpin "Why does it not state your birth?"

Maria "I don't like to show my age so I had a friend redact it. It's still there but hidden unless it is of a vital need, which I don't believe it is for merely proving I am a huntress"

Ozpin "…I suppose you are correct; in that case it shell just be you taking the exam Ms Long, it will consist of a written portion and then a match to prove your skills" he turned away and brought out his own tablet and started viewing the potential students.

Hanna "looking forward to it" she smiled as she and the others looked to their own devices, her using her phone, to watch the events unfold.

In the skies over Emerald Forest a black bird is slowly and calmly flying, right up to the moment it gives a final shriek as Ruby crashes through it in a burst of feathers as she plummets downward.

Ruby "Birdie, no!"

Ruby didn't have time to mourn the poor bird as she fired off a few rounds from Crescent Rose to slow herself down, then turned the weapon into its scythe form to catch the branch of a tree in her blade and fall downward at a slower pace.

Weiss, armed with Myrtenaster, summons a white snowflake circle under her and leaps off of it to the forest below.

Ren descends, with Nora briefly being seen next to him at a faster speed, and spins in the air, eventually using StormFlower's blades to spiral around the trunk of a large tree and hit the ground, brushing off his clothes before looking up to see Yang blasting overhead.

Yang "Woo-hoo! Yeah! Alley-oop!"

she soared right over the treetops, like a meteor blazing the sky, spinning, and laughing with each blast, even when she crashed through the leaves of a tree she was in control, leaping off two tree trunks and then doing a tumble roll on the ground, easily rolling to her feet in a continues sprint.

Yang "Nailed it!"

With Pyrrha, her weapon in sword form and armed with a shield, she crashes through several trees and rolls along onto a branch, immediately shifting her blade into a rifle and looking through the scope at Jaune as he continues to scream and fall helplessly. Pyrrha coolly transformed her weapon again with a slight spin into its spear form, took a moment to evaluate her throw, and rocketed the javelin deep into the forest with a [BANG!], going quiet for a moment until a [THUNK!] is heard.

Jaune "(in the distance) Thank you!"

Pyrrha "(waving) I'm sorry!"

In the middle of the forest, Ruby lands in a crouch, taking a moment to expand her senses before shooting forward.

Ruby "Alright, I got her location, just need to get to her before anyone else does"

After a few moments of high-speed running Ruby skids to a halt in front of Weiss as she turns to face her. She stops just in time for their eyes to meet.

Ruby "Weiss! Good to see you"

Weiss "Ah, Ruby, I guess we are partners now"

Ruby "Yep! Nice to know I got a cute partner to watch my back"

Weiss "(blushes) Yes well, let us be going, I don't want to fail this exam"

Ruby "[giggles] okay partner"

The newly created partners walk off, unknowingly leaving Jaune hanging a few feet in the air by the spear embedded in his hood and the tree behind him a few feet away. He struggles to pull the spear out for a few moments before giving up, not noticing Pyrrha walk up to the tree below him.

Pyrrha "Jaune? Do you... have any spots left on your team?" she cheekily asks.

Jaune "(crossing his arms) Very funny..." he eventually looks down at her and gives a smile, which she returns.

Back with Ruby and Weiss, Weiss was trudging through the forest, with Ruby just behind her.

Ruby "What's the hurry?"

Weiss "I will not let my mission be delayed because you're too slow! I swear, if I get a bad grade because of your— (a smiling Ruby suddenly appears next to her) What the...?"

Ruby "Let me stop you right there"

Weiss "(looking back, slightly amazed) When did...?"

Ruby "speed-based semblance. Now Weiss let's set a few things straight, first, you shouldn't judge someone based on appearances, you never know what they may or may not be able to do, also it is very rude. Second I can see you have no field experience"

Weiss "why I never-"

Ruby "It's not a put-down, I'm just stating a fact, how do I know? You are going in the wrong direction, you're heading the way we were launched, meaning the temple is logically in the other direction, also the way you keep getting caught on branches and batter them away shows you have indoor training not outdoor, and a lot of unpredictable things can happen in the field outside of controlled environments"

Weiss was at first angry at someone younger than her basically telling her off but calmed down as her partner spoke.

Ruby "I have field experience, not as much as license hunters but I do live on an island with plenty of Grimm… look we both have a lot to learn before we graduate, from the teachers, other students and each other, one thing I have learnt is there is nothing wrong with asking for help or advice" she placed her hand on her partner's shoulder with an encouraging smile.

Weiss was silent for a moment, thinking about the girl's words, she did have points she couldn't argue with, but she had been training for this and wanted to succeed.

Weiss "… I understand what you are saying, and some of what you say is true, but I have to get a good grade, I NEED to be the best"

Ruby "The best what?"

Weiss "The best- the best of- EVERYTHING! If I'm not then I… I…" she struggled with her words, unable to finish, as though she was fighting herself.

Ruby "(gently pulls Weiss into a hug) Hey, it's okay, you don't have to tell me right now, we just became partners, I know you don't have enough trust in me right now to tell me, but remember, we are partners and will be for a few years, so you can trust in that and that I will be here to listen and watch your back, alright?"

Weiss wasn't too familiar with hugs, getting few in her life, but this felt nice and to hear this girl comfort her was just as good, she gave a tentative hug back with a nod before they separated.

Weiss "…thank you"

Ruby "It's alright, now I think we are going to see just what the other can do, as we have company"

Just then multiple pairs of red eyes made their appearance, staring at them from the bushes and deep growls were heard. They look around until a large, jagged Beowolf emerges from a bush and approaches them, roaring at them as they draw their weapons.

Elsewhere in the misty underbrush of the Emerald Forest, Yang was walking and looking around, keeping track of Blake's signature that was nearby.

Yang "Helloooooooo? (a shadow quickly passes by) Is anyone out there? Helloooo? (stops and raises her arms) I'm getting bored here! (hears a rustling in the bushes behind her and turns) Is someone there? (the rustling continues as Yang comes over and peaks inside) Ruby, is that you?"

A low, inhuman growl is heard, and Yang's head rises as she stares at the Ursa looking down at her.

Yang "Nope! (popping the P)"

She quickly rolled to the side as the Ursa charged out of the green. She gets up and activates her Ember Celica, staring at the monster before another Ursa runs out behind her. She leaps over it, and its companion runs at her again, only to get knocked back by a punch. The other Ursa and Yang charge at each other, and Yang manages to get under it and deliver several punches and a kick to send the creature back.

Yang "You guys wouldn't happen to have seen a girl in a red hood, would you? (the Ursai merely growled at her) You could just say "no"."

One of the Ursai stands on its legs and swipes at her twice, Yang smoothly dodges the attacks.

Yang "(laughing) Geeeez, you two couldn't hit the broad side of a ba..." Before she can complete her insult, a single strand of her golden hair falls in front of her face and lands on the forest floor.

Yang "You..." her violet eyes flickered red for a moment before she closed them and took a breath, calming herself, the Ursai looked at each other confusedly before Yang opened her eyes again, this time her eyes were violet with a red inner ring.

Yang "The old me would have blown up like a brat for that, but thanks to my lovers and a few hard hits I'm better than that now, so let me show you what I can do!" with that she launched herself forward with a single kick.

The Ursa ran at her with a swipe of its claws only for Yang to smoothly weave under the limb, striking its side and along its back with a slight twirl causing it to stumble and try to swing at her again only for her to get in close, give it an uppercut off the ground slightly before giving a sharp hard kick sending it flying back. She then ducked under a swipe from the second one, giving a leg sweep, taking it off balance, with an upper shotgun blast to its side making it tumble to the side just as the first came back, jumping at her with both claws raised only for her to give a combo of punches to its chest making it stumble and try to run her through with its right arm only to have it blasted off with a blazing shotgun punch from the blonde and before it could try with its other arm it was blasted back from a double fist strike sending it crashing through a tree out of sight.

Yang turned to face the second Ursa as it got back up with a growl, she smashed her fists together staring it down.

Yang "You next buddy?"

The Ursa rears up and prepares to strike... right when a whirling noise is heard and the monster makes a befuddled noise, collapsing a second later to reveal Blake with her Gambol Shroud in the beast's back.

Yang lets out a light huff as Blake recalls the weapon back to her hand, sheathing it on her back and smiling at the blond. Yang, now purple-eyed again, speaks to her new partner over the smoking remains of the monster.

Yang "I could've taken him."

Blake "I know. Shell we?" she pointed onward and Yang nodded.

The new partners walked off to find and retrieve their artefact, unaware of movement in the bushes and the sound of crunching moments later.

Back with the red and white duo, they were fighting against the pack of Beowolves they had come across, Weiss deflecting the swipe from a Beowolf with her Myrtenaster and getting pushed back into the middle of the beastly circle. She holds out her sword as she goes through her duelling motions and practices.

Weiss "Remember your training, Weiss. Head up, shoulders back, right foot forward — not that forward! — slow your breathing, wait for the right time to-"

Ruby "Stop that!"

Weiss was interrupted from her thoughts by Ruby, who in a blur of rose petals and a swipe of her Crescent Rose scythe, landed hits on several of the monsters.

Weiss "What-?"

Ruby "You're thinking too much (swipe and kill), like I said this isn't a training room (jump dodges and fires 3 shots taking out another), remember your training yes but let your body and instincts flow (lands behind Weiss back to back), if you don't you won't be able to adapt and will get taken down"

Weiss "I am well trained (slashes away an attack)"

Ruby "in a room, but the field is different. You have a fire Dust in the barrel right (lets off several shots taking down 2 more)"

Weiss "How- never mind, yes (summons a Glyph shield to stop a Beowolf then launch it back)"

Ruby "What made you think fire in a forest was a good idea? (slices one then shoots another)"

Weiss "Well, that… shut up! (blushes as she switches dust to ice and creates ice spears that skewer many)"

Ruby "Hey I'm not judging, just pointing out that we have different experiences (pivots up kicking one away then swings around mid-air to slice another), and we are partners now, we will need to learn to predict each other's moves right? (shoots and takes out 2 more) so here's what I'm thinking, use that fire dust but aim for me"

Weiss "Are you crazy!? And didn't you say that was bad in a forest? (stabs then slices two more down)"

Ruby "Normally yes when you don't have a plan, I have a plan, and no better way to start trusting each other than now" She finishes talking as she spins around, grabbing Weiss by the waist and twirls them both as she slices down 4 more Beowolves, ending their spin with her point her barrel at the others while holding Weiss at a slight angle at the waist like a dashing hero, this had Weiss blushing while looking up at the, arguably pretty, red hooded teen.

Weiss "f-fine, let's do i-it your way"

Ruby smiled, in a burst of red and light blue petals the pair had weaved around the horde of Grimm and were now outside of the pack, returning to normal Ruby released Weiss before pulling out a wind dust crystal and inserting it into a slot just behind her scope and giving a twist of the handle, the groves of her weapon lightly lit up pale green up to the blade which gained a slight green tint to it.

Ruby ran fast around the pack with her scythe trailing just behind her, her speed and the wind coming from her blade started creating a vortex of wind around the monsters.

Ruby "Alright fire!" Weiss, having switched to fire dust, did just that, launching a fire slash at the girl who spun around and hooked the fire into her blade, causing the green blade to burst into a high-powered flaming scythe and the vortex to light up into an inferno.

Ruby "Use ice and surround the outside!" Weiss quickly did so by forming a large glyph beneath the vortex and grew a large 15-foot-tall ice barrier around them all.

Ruby, still running in the vortex, turned into a storm of burning petals and burst into higher speeds, closing inwards to the pack that began to get swept up from the force until she went up higher and higher with Grimm following behind her, at the pinnacle of height she reformed with her weapon in gun form pointing down at the horde with the end burning with fire, and in a split second when all the Grimm aligned in her sight, she fired.

Ruby - "White Rose: Burning Vortex!"

The bullet rang true as its wind-powered, flame-coated form struck all in its path and upon striking the ground a blast of fire and wind was released, destroying the Grimm, and dousing any flames that may have remained as the barrier also shattered from the force.

Weiss was slightly stunned, she had seen some forms of skill before but not in person and in such a way as this, Ruby landed next to her and gave a light pant as she put her weapon away.

Ruby "Well that takes care of them, you okay Weiss?"

Weiss "Um yes, I am fine, what about you? You were inside those flames… and what was with that name thing?"

Ruby "The attack naming is something I picked up from Hanna, just adds a little something special ya know. As for the fire, yea it was hot, but I was going fast enough to avoid most of the heat and what I didn't my aura protected me, but you were really good out there, a bit more field training and you will be great" she gave a big smile that had the girl lightly blushing.

Weiss "Yes, well, like you said, we both have different experiences and have years of training ahead of us to learn. Now how about we start heading to the relics now… partner" she gave a small smile before walking away.

Ruby "Alright then… Weiss, other way"

She smiled as the white-themed girl walked back past her in the opposite direction she was going, a light blush on her cheeks.

Weiss "shut up"

Ruby lightly snickered as she followed after her partner.

Neither notices the large dark feather floating onto a fallen tree trunk made from the battle behind them or the later sounds of crunching near the Beowolves' disintegrating bodies.

While all this happened, with the soon-to-be students finding partners and then the artefacts, some taking a wrong turn or two, Ozpin, Glynda, Hanna, and Maria stood at the Beacon Cliff overlooking the Emerald Forest, watching the students on their Scrolls.

Glynda "The last pair has been formed, sir. (taps the screen to show Nora and Ren pairing up) Nora Valkyrie and Lie Ren. Poor boy... I can't possibly imagine those two getting along. Still, he's probably better off than Miss Nikos. (the video changes to Pyrrha Nikos and Jaune Arc's trek through the woods)"

Ozpin merely hums as he continues to watch his own screen.

Glynda "I don't care what his transcripts say. That Jaune fellow is not ready for this level of combat."

Hanna " "One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again." - Abraham Maslow. (this grabs their attention) Neither we nor Jaune will know what he can truly do unless given the chance, we are here to give him and the others the help they need to get better, both as teachers and fellow warriors"

Maria "She's right, we push and teach them so they can make it out there, against both Grimm and man, but at the same time help them remain themselves, to know when to fight and when to relax, I have seen too many die from arrogance in a fight or mental stress of taking it too seriously, a balance is needed" Hanna nodded agreeing with her.

Ozpin "wise words"

There was a beat of silence as the pairs words sunk into them.

Glynda "(deactivates the tablet with a nod, walking back a little) I guess we'll find out soon enough. At their current pace, they should reach the temple within just a few minutes. (turns to Ozpin) Speaking of which, what did you use as relics this year? (silence) Professor Ozpin?"

Ozpin doesn't answer, watching his tablet with a contemplating interest as it shows the footage of Ruby and Weiss walking through the forest.

Hanna "(leans in close to Glynda) Never mind him, how are you doing~ (gently rubs the woman's large stomach getting a shuddering breath in return)"

Glynda "p-p-please not h-here" she quivered slightly leaning back into her lover.

Hanna "Like I said before, they can't see or hear us when we do this~ and it's not like your fighting it, I bet I could strip you naked and take you here and now with no resistance~ (flicks the pendant with a jingle) I could turn this, have you go on all fours crying out like a wild animal as I ravish you from behind~"

As she spoke her hands moved over the woman's body, rubbing her stomach, squeezing, and pinching her breasts, drawing out gasps and moans as though she was playing a melody, the others completely unknowing of their deprived actions right next to them, and Glynda was loving it, her legs twitched as she was drawn into higher levels of pleasure.

Mini was not quite in these actions, she was moving within, her tentacles slivering, pushing, and rubbing against the walls of her warm confines, even pressing against the only exit to her room, slowly poking out just slightly before drawing back in, causing jolts of pleasure to spread out through Glynda's body with the two-fold assault.

She was nearing her end, about to hit her point of a blissful burst of pleasure! …when it stopped. Hanna gently held her with Mini softly massaging her insides before resting once more, leaving Glynda panting and red in the girl's arms, who placed a gentle kiss on her cheek.

Hanna "Oh how I would love to do such, but we have work to do, no?"

Glynda breathed for a few moments, calming down before regaining enough strength to stand by herself once more, adjusting her glasses and giving Hanna a sharp look that was downplayed by her blushing cheeks.

Glynda "You are cruel"

Hanna "(smiling) Yes (taps butt plug) I am. And you love it~"

Glynda gave a mix of a squeal and gasp at the sudden release of more fluid into her bowls, just barely staying upright and almost cumming from it, after a moment it stopped, leaving a softly glaring and blushing Glynda at a smirking Hanna before they once again focused on the students taking the test.

Back with Yang and Blake, the pair step out from the forest into a clearing, revealing a circular stone temple, broken and decrepit but for the platforms around its inside, holding several black and gold chess pieces.

Yang "Think this is it?"

In response, Blake gives Yang an incredulous look and heads down the hill, her partner following, they were soon inspecting the platforms.

Blake "(looking at a black king, confused) Chess pieces?"

Yang "Some of them are missing. Looks like we weren't the first ones here."

Blake "Well, I guess we should pick one."

Yang "Hmmmm... (she pretends to study the golden knight, remembering what Hanna told them, then picks it up and shows it to Blake) How about a cute little pony?"

Blake "(smirking) Sure. (they walk towards each other to the centre of the temple floor)"

Yang "That wasn't too hard!"

Blake "Well, it's not like this place is very difficult to find. (they share a smile)"

Just then the high pitch of Jaune's scream is heard making Yang turn towards the direction of its source.

Yang "Some girl's in trouble! Blake, did you hear that? (turns to her partner) What should we do?"

Blake doesn't answer, staring at something in the sky, pointing for Yang to look up as well.

-flashback start-

A few minutes ago, in the sky

Why? That was the thought going through Weiss's mind, why did she do it? Why did she listen to the slightly hyperactive, giant scythe-wielding, if not pretty, red cloak-wearing young girl named Ruby Rose, her recent partner that she only knew a little about. Why did she let her talk her into jumping onto, and hanging onto at high speeds, a giant Nevermore that could swallow either of them in one bite?!

Weiss "(shouting to be heard) Ruby! I told you this was a terrible idea! How did I let you talk me into this?!"

Ruby "(also raising her voice) We're fine! Stop worrying! We agreed it was the fastest way to find the temple and travel without facing Grimm along the way!"

Weiss "Be that as it may, I am so far beyond worrying!"

Ruby "In a good way?"

Weiss "In a bad way! In a very bad way!"

Ruby "Well, why don't we just jump?"

Weiss "What are you? Insane?!"

She is met with silence; Ruby has already disappeared.

Weiss "Oh, you insufferable little red-!"

-flashback end-

Ruby "(falling right towards the black and yellow duo, finally getting Yang's attention) Heads uuuuuuuup!"

Just as she's about to pull out her weapon to help soften her landing, Jaune comes flying through the air and crashes into Ruby, knocking her off course and sending them both into a tree to the left of where Blake and Yang are standing. Ruby is dazed by the rough landing (as evidenced by the cutesy Beowolves and stars circling her head).

Ruby "Oohhhh... What was that? (the dizziness passes when she shakes her head)"

Jaune "Eh-hem! (Ruby looks up to see Jaune hanging upside-down in a tree branch above her) Hey, Ruby..."

Blake "(back on the ground, looking at the tree) Did your sister just fall from the sky?"

Yang "Yep."

several crashing noises are then heard in the forest ahead of them, and an Ursa comes out, claws swiping, just as a pink energy blast hits it in the back and it crashes to the ground, depositing its rider.

Nora "YEEEE-HAAAAW! (rolls off of the creature's back, then gets up and groans, saddened) Awwww... It's broken. (she dashes onto its neck and observes the carcass as Ren comes up behind her)"

Ren "(panting and leaning on the monster) Nora! Please... Don't ever do that again. (he looks up again and notices Nora has run off again, and looks around frantically)"

Nora "(now in the Temple, staring at a golden rook relic) Oooohh... (suddenly grabs it and dances and sings with the chess piece) I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!"

Ren "Nora!"

Nora "(stops dancing with the rook on her head, then salutes, dropping the relic into her hand) Coming, Ren! (skips off to her friend)"

Blake "Did that girl just ride in on an Ursa?"

Yang "yep"

She is interrupted once more as a screech is heard from their right, and Pyrrha comes onto the scene as a Death Stalker uproots entire trees in its chase after her, Pyrrha narrowly dodges its giant claws and keeps on running.

Pyrrha "Jaune!"

Jaune "Pyrrha!"

Ruby "(standing up, looking at the monster below) Whoa! (she starts running off of the branch and landing in a roll)"

Jaune "(whining) Ruby!"

Yang "(as Ruby stands up, back on the ground) Ruby!"

Ruby "(excited) Yang! (raises her arms as if to give her sister a hug)"

Nora "Nora! (comes between the two and knocking them off-balance in surprise)"

The scorpion Grimm continues to follow Pyrrha as she runs.

Blake "Did she just run all the way here with a Death Stalker on her tail?"

Yang "yep"

Blake "How are you not freaking out right now?"

Yang "Oh I would have some time ago but after getting with Hanna and Ruby (pulls her lover into a side hug) as well as getting some training I am much more in control of my temper, also I have seen even crazier stuff than this since getting together, right Rube's"

As she said this Ren ran over to them to lean next to a ditzy Nora, while Blake and Ruby looked up.

Ruby "That's right (pecks cheek) and also Yang (taps her lover's arm and points)"

Up above, Weiss is revealed to still be hanging on to the talon, the size of her entire body, of the gigantic Nevermore.

Weiss "(calling down to Ruby) How could you leave me?!"

Ruby "(shouting up at Weiss) I said "Jump"! I would have caught you!"

Blake "She's gonna fall."

Ruby "She'll be fine."

Ren "She's falling."

Jaune is finally out of the tree, panting until he looks up and grins at the sight of Weiss falling through the air, giving him the opportunity to jump off the branch with arms outstretched and catch her in a slowed-down moment.

Jaune "(smiles at Weiss) Just... dropping in?"

Weiss is speechless... and Jaune realizes why when they both look down.

Jaune "Oh, God. (they hang on to each other wide-eyed as their moment of suspension ends, their weapons flying behind them) Oh, noooooooo- Oomph!"

Jaune does a faceplant into the dirt, limbs splayed out, and would have been the perfect landing spot for Weiss, had she not been caught once more, only this time by her partner who held her in a princess carry with hood floating in the light breeze, making the girl blush.

Ruby "I told you I would have caught you"

Weiss was almost lost in the dashing display, being drawn out of it by a groan beneath them, noting that Ruby was standing on the young Arc's back.

Jaune "(groaning) My back..."

Weiss "(mockingly to Jaune) My hero (giving a light smile to the one holding her)"

The Death Stalker is still hunting Pyrrha, but she manages to land on her side at the feet of the heroes.

Yang "Great! The gang's all here! Now we can die together!"

Ruby "(places Weiss down who gabs her weapon) Not if we can help it, think you can cover me from birdy and then trap the ground one's tail while I distract it?"

Weiss "easily (rotates her Dust chamber)"

Ruby "Alright then!"

With that she shot off at high speeds, she instantly got close to the scorpion, sliding under its swinging claw, and kicking it in the chin making it stagger back before trying to stab her with its tail, she unfolded her scythe and battered it away before firing a shot in its facing launching her back, it following after her as she dodged left and right leading it closer to the others.

A caw from above sounded the return of the Nevermore as it launched a stream of projectile feathers, before they could get close to Ruby Weiss summoned several Glyphs and launched ice shards at the feathers, cancelling out many of them, that's when the Death Stalker tried to crush Ruby beneath its pinchers only for her to leap onto its head, striking the earth and missing her, she swings her scythe nocking the pinchers out to the sides before firing shots along it's back. Screeching the scorpion threw its head back with Ruby backwards flipping onto the ground and then launching herself back as it tried to skewer her with its stinger, only to hit the ground instead.

Ruby "Weiss!"

With her shout said heiress struck the ground with a Glyph and a line of tall ice shot out and entrapped the stinger, pinning the Grimm for the moment, Ruby landed next to her partner with a smile.

Ruby "Nice work"

Weiss "of course"

Ruby "Are you still upset about the Nevermore?"

Weiss "…no"

Ruby "How about a kiss to make up for it" This causes the girl to blush.

Weiss "N-no need, we are fine (walks back to the others)"

Jaune "Guys? That thing's circling back! (points to the Nevermore) What are we gonna do?"

Weiss "Look, there's no sense in dilly-dallying. Our objective is right in front of us. (they stare at the relics)"

Ruby "She's right. Our mission is to grab an artefact and make it back to the Cliffs. (nods to Weiss) There's no point in fighting these things."

Ruby goes over and grabs a gold knight (identical to the one Yang picked out) and Jaune takes hold of a gold rook (similar to Nora and Ren's piece), smiling at each other. The Death Stalker continues to fight its bonds, cracking the ice a little in the process.

Ren "Time we left!"

Ruby "Right. (waves to the others) Let's go!" she goes forward with everyone following except for a smiling Yang and Blake as the latter approaches her partner.

Blake "What is it?"

Yang "(staring proudly at Ruby as she leaps on a boulder and motions the group onward) Nothing..." She moves on as Blake smiles in realization and leaves as well.

A few moments after they left the Death Stalker broke free and gave chase, but none were aware of a large form move from out of the forest towards the down and forgotten Ursa.

Back with the teachers Hanna watched on as everything seemed to continue as she had originally seen from the series, the unofficial forming of teams RWBY and JNPR to them defeating the Death Stalker and giant Nevermore, though Ruby and Yang showed more speed, strength, and reflexes then originally.

Glynda "Despite their haphazard movements between each other they show skill and promise, but they still have a long ways to go"

Ozpin "Indeed, but as our new friends stated, that is why they are here, to learn and grow"

Glynda "(nodded in agreement) true. The other students have found their artefacts and avoided the battle, I suppose that means we should head back to-"

? - {ROOOOOOOAR!}

She was cut off by a sudden bellowing roar coming from their scrolls, looking back their eyes widened at the events happening.

The teenagers had regathered at the cliff where the bridge once stood, ready to make their way back to Beacon, when suddenly trees were blasted from the forest's edge, they pulled out their weapons ready to fight when a single Ursa stomped its way into view, with slight burns and broken off pieces of its mask.

Yang "Hey, that guy looks familiar"

Blake "I believe it's the Ursa you blasted back in the forest"

Yang "Oh yea, well he should be easy (with a sudden bang and whoosh the Ursa launched itself past the group at high speeds, grabbing the disintegrating Death Stalker as it passed and landing next to the nearly gone Nevermore) to… beat… ?" she, along with the others were shocked at the sudden action and speed, but that shock soon turned to disgust at the Grimm's net actions.

Jaune "(uneasy voice) is… is it… ?"

Ren "eating the other Grimm, yes, it is (Nora covered her mouth at the sight to stop herself from puking)"

The Grimm was in fact eating the fading corpses of its fellow Grimm, its loud munching and crunching of their bodies echoing throughout the forest for the disturbed students and those watching to hear.

Weiss "I had heard… that sometimes a Grimm will eat another in rare cases, but I thought those were just horror stories"

Pyrrha "It seems they are true, and we are in some trouble"

The Grimm, seemingly finished with its meal, then hunched over as its body began to convulse and bulge, soon it's size grew and twisted, becoming leaner with more plating and spikes bursting from its body, a pair of giant wings ripping from its back, it's front legs becoming longer with more curved claws, from outer shoulder pincher arms brock through snapping at the air, it's back legs becoming slightly longer with the feet tearing apart into clawed talons, a long armour tail with scorpion tip tore out from its back end and it's mask splintered and cracked open with more spikes and plats causing it's jaw and head to become bigger with a pointed tip at the end of a jiggered jaw mouth. This new Grimm rose upwards and let out a bellowing roar that shook the air around it, making the teens shudder.

Yang "Any ideas?"

Jaune "Run?"

Ren "With its size and limbs it would catch up to us quickly"

Weiss "split up?"

Blake "It would hunt us down one by one and we wouldn't have the power to take it down"

Nora "Let's fight it!"

Pyrrha "We only have half our normal amount of supplies and don't have either the field advantage or chance to resupply, more than a few of us could get seriously hurt… if not worse"

Ruby "We fight it"

Weiss "You really are nuts aren't you?!"

Ren "We can't beat something like that, it's best to run and defend ourselves until the teachers arrive"

Ruby "Yes we can, fighting impossible odds is what hunters do, if we don't beat it here and now then it will attack others and we don't know how long it will take for the teacher to get here. I know we barely know each other, but we are here for the same reason, to be hunters, to fight back the darkness of our world to make it just a little bit lighter for everyone, so we will fight it, and we will win, together. Yang "I always got your back Rubes (stands next to her smashing her fists together)"

Weiss "Trust me to get a crazy partner with a big heart (gives her a smirk drawing her weapon)"

Nora "[giggles] After a speech like that how can we turn away, right Ren? (hops up next to her old friend)"

Ren "(gives a small smile) True Nora and someone's got to watch your backs"

The teens lined up with weapons at the ready, facing the Grimm as it turned to face them with a roar.

Ruby "alright then, let's kick ass (cocks gun)"

That's when the beast leapt towards them.

Glynda "What are they doing! They should evacuate at once!"

Maria "You're not wrong but they can't, as they stated their only options are to either hold it off for others to help or take it down themselves, running would just lead to their downfall"

The eight teens scattered as the beast leapt at them, dodging, and jumping as it struck at them with claws, pinchers, and tail, firing at it as they moved.

Hanna "What makes someone a hunter?"

Jaune ran and rolled with a stumble to avoid being clipped in two by a pincher, Pyrrha threw her shield to help nock it away while the boy tried slicing at the limb with his sword only to do barely any damage, his partner grabbed him and dodged a swipe from the monsters clawed hand.

Hanna "Is it their strength?"

Yang leapt up with a blast of her weapons, launching blasts as she flew overhead, the beast using its wings to block most of the blasts the swinging at the blonde with its tail, Yang countered it with a punch but was then struck by a pincer, sending her flying into a few trees, destroying them as she crashed through them, right past Nora who jumped out of the way and tried to fire off her own rounds only to be tackled to the side by Ren, avoiding projectile feathers from piercing her.

Hanna "Is it their skill?"

Blake jumped around its side trying to get close to strike only for it to dodge back and go for a swipe of its claws, she avoided with a clone only to get clipped by a wing, she threw her now-turned gun and hooked the wing, using her ribbon she swung up and struck at its tail with her sheath, only leaving a light cut, pulling her gun loose and back to her she fired at its face only to clone dodge again as it tried to chomp down on her, land besides Pyrrha.

Hanna "Their brains?"

Weiss summoned many ice shards and launched them at it only for it to swiftly dodge across the field and return fire with its feathers, she summoned an ice wall making the feathers pierce deep into it, causing cracks to form all over it. Just before the wall shattered she launched herself with a pillar of earth, just before she could summon Glyphs to jump to in the air, she was pelted by more projectiles forcing her to summon a shield instead.

Nora saw this, grabbed Ren and with a spin and yell (from him) threw him towards her, Ren grabbed Weiss making them both dodge the on slot just as Nora launched her own attacks at the beast drawing its attention as the pair landed safely.

Hanna "or even their age?"

Ruby sped in close with a blur of petals, able to strike at its back leg before dodging its stinger and then again with its claws crashing down where she stopped, she kept moving and striking but quickly the beast had enough and with a strong beat of its wings made everyone go flying as it launched into the skies.

Ruby was first back to their feet and switched to sniper fire, attempting to hit the monster, but it was just as agile in the air as it was on land, sweeping and twirling away from her shots before raising higher out of range for the moment.

Hanna "No."

Weiss "As fun as this is, we need a plan!"

Ren "We can't keep this up, we have done barely anything to it while we are getting tired"

Jaune "yea okay, details, we know it's fast"

Pyrrha "is armoured with many limbs covering all points"

Blake "not to mention it can fly and is strong"

Jaune "Okay, so super tough, [groans] if only we could keep it still long enough to land a hard hit"

Ruby watches as it flies through the air, eyes zooming in on its wings.

Hanna "What makes someone a true hunter, a true warrior, a true hero"

The others caught on and followed up.

The Grimm at that moment launched a cluster of feathers down upon them.

Ruby "Scatter!"

They did so, jumping and running around, as they did so Ruby told them her plan.

Weiss "It's official! I have an insane partner!"

Hanna "to break through limitations so they can not only help others and win battles but to also come back alive"

Nora ran past Pyrrha, tossing two of her three remaining barrels of ammo to her while loading her last one, the redhead levitated the ammo next to her while taking shots at the Grimm.

Blake and Jaune ran towards Nora and Yang, Weiss throwing them ice Dust as they passed.

Jaune "Why me?!"

Blake "Just go with it"

The pair jumped at the strong girls, Jaune placing his shield under his feet as he landed on the ginger's hammer and Blake doing the same with her sheath and Yang's gauntlets, then with a [BANG!] and scream from Jaune the pair was launched up high fast.

The Grimm turned to them but before it could do anything Pyrrha launched the hovering ammo at it, Ruby shooting them as they got close causing a massive explosion in its face, while not doing much harm it was enough to distract it so Blake and Jaune could make it over and then straight down onto its back.

With a tumble the pair rolled along its back and stabbed their sword and sheath near the wings joints, this resulted in a screech from the monster which tried to stab them with its stinger but Jaune was just quick enough to bring his shield up to protect them both, they rolled away and jumped off from its back.

Hanna "That's why, I know, without a shadow of a doubt"

Down bellow Weiss had been charging up lots of lighting Dust, as her blade glowed yellow with power she launched it towards Nora who took it all in, Pyrrha then, with a boost of her semblance, launched her spear straight up past the falling duo, imbedding it in the underside of the Grimm.

As Weiss caught the falling duo with her Glyphs, Nora gave a mad cackle as pink arcs of lightning surged around her before directing it up like a real lightning bolt, said bolt drawn to the spear, hitting it and then the other two blades, striking them and the ice Dust wedged next to them making the detonate and encase the wing joints in ice while also shocking the Grimm.

As it fell Ruby tossed some explosive Dust rounds to Ren before switching her rounds, jumping on her scythe with Ren, who concealed them both, she launched them both up with a [bang!].

The Grimm was completely unaware of the pair until it was too late, Ren jumped to the side and both he and Ruby fired explosive rounds at the iced wings making them shatter, fall off and fade away for good.

Hanna "that they will win"

Yang then twisted her gauntlets, causing them to shift and twist until a thick barrel formed on the top of both, she pointed them out in front of her as she aimed. She fired her new sticky bombs at the beast, which tried to block with its pinchers, not knowing that's what they wanted, for when the pinchers got covered in the explosives that's when Yang detonated them.

[BANG!]

The large explosion destroyed the pinchers, leaving only stumps in their place just as the beast crashed into the ground, but it didn't stay down, with a roar it burst from the cloud of dirt and launched itself at the curvy blonde, only for the girl to smile and lean to the side, grabbing it as it passed she spun it around and tossed it away with her enhanced strength, making it crash into trees.

Yang "How do you like that!" getting her own back for earlier.

Jaune "Pyrrha, Weiss!"

The pair responded just as the monster got back to its feet, Weiss summoned Glyphs to hold its tail in place as Pyrrha slammed the still airborne weapons down along its length, that's when Ruby, still in the air, aimed and fired three on point shots at the tails base before swinging around, hooking Ren by the feet, and launching him at the target, with his blades and speed he sliced through the tails base, separating the deadly limb and making the Grimm tumble away.

Ruby landed next to Yang just as Pyrrha reclaimed her weapon and returned Blake and Jaunes to them, the eight teens surrounding the Grimm as it snarled at them, most of them panting from the long day and battle, just barely standing.

Ruby "Ready to end this sis?"

Yang "Oh yea"

Yang twisted on her heel and moved her right gauntlet to her left, the pair merging into one, grabbed Ruby's hand with her right arm and using her now larger left gauntlet set off a series of explosions, causing the two to become an orange spinning twister of petals and flames.

Then with a mighty toss of her arm, Yang sent Ruby shooting like a bullet with her flames clinging to the scythe's blade. As she flew Ruby concentrated on her aura, flowing it into her muscles as she reached up and pulled a release on the back of her scythe, causing half the blade to release creating a large sickle she held in her left hand.

Once her foot hit the ground she shot at twice her speed towards the Grimm, said monster roared and tried to charge, but it was already too late, for Ruby had now turned herself into a twisting spiral bullet of twin burning blades.

Ruby/Yang - "Enabler: Molten Shredder!"

She tore through its gaping jaw, shredding down the side of its body and limbs like a hot blender through butter before blasting through its flank like a cannonball and coming to a grinding halt a dozen feet behind it, a mix of yellow, red, and orange petals flowing past her and steam coming off of her blades.

The beast gave a groan, as if trying to dispel what had happened to it, before its eye finally faded to nothing, collapsing to the ground, and beginning to fade away, as though a bad dream.

There was a beat of silence before.

Yang "Well, that was another thing"

Jaune "We… we did it"

Nora "WOOOOHOOOO!"

Blake "When could your weapons do that?"

Weiss "HOW could you both do THAT?"

Yang "Recent upgrades Ruby made with Hanna and training from hell by said lover, I wouldn't doubt by the end of the first year people will either be dead or able to take on five of those monsters we just took out"

The scary part of what she said? They somehow believed her, making them shudder in both fear and anticipation.

With this everyone gave their own response in a victory hard earnt, half falling to their butts out of energy.

Hanna smiled as she closed her feed, looking back to the others, Ozpin and Glynda looked at their scrolls with different levels of shock, prompting her to chuckle.

Hanna "I believe it's time to send a bullhead to collect them, seeing as they are too tired to get back too soon"

Ozpin "(adjusts glasses) Yes, you are quite right. Glynda"

Glynda "Ah yes doing it now (tapped her scroll before talking into it)"

Hanna took that moment to start walking back to the school, a small smile on her lips.

After some visits to the medical wing, all the potential students were brought back to the Amphitheater for team placements.

Ozpin "Russel Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark. (the screen of the auditorium shows each of their profiles as the boys are lined up for the applauding audience to see as Ozpin continues) The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team CRDL, led by... Cardin Winchester!"

The audience gives one more wave of cheer, while JNPR walks up to the stage to take their places in front of the headmaster as their faces fill the screen.

Ozpin "Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR."

Amid the clapping, Nora laughs and hugs Ren.

Ozpin "Led by... Jaune Arc!"

Jaune "Huh? L-Led by...? (Pyrrha gives him a big smile)"

Ozpin "Congratulations, young man."

A grinning Pyrrha offers a friendly shoulder bump to Jaune, but her "fine leader" is knocked over and falls to his butt in front of the laughing audience.

Weiss looks to her right surprised, where Ruby is obviously in shock as Yang goes over to hug her sister.

Yang "I'm so proud of you!"

Ozpin "(amid the last round of cheers) It looks like things are shaping up to be an... interesting year."

Off to the side Hanna and Maria watched on, sharing knowing smiles at hearing Ozpins words.

Hanna "(whispered) You have no idea idiot, no idea at all"

Meanwhile in Vale, inside a shadowy warehouse filled with shelves and a desk in the back, Roman Torchwick is listening to a call on his old burner phone. The muffled conversation ends, and Roman angrily slams the phone down, sighing. He holds a cigar to his mouth and puts his symbolized lighter to the end, just as a white fang member comes with a trolley. Roman holds out a collection of Lien, which he places on the table and the man takes it.

Roman "Open it."

The masked man does so with a crowbar, revealing a large amount of Dust crystals of varying colours - orange, blue, white, red, green, cyan, gold, yellow, and more. Roman picks up a blue gem in his hand and looks at the loot.

Roman "We're gonna need more men..."

Back at Beacon, after a big meal, being assigned their team dorms, where their belongings were placed, and much-needed showers, everyone lay down and fell into a deep sleep.

As they slept, the sisters of team RWBY began to sink into their beds, as though being swallowed by marshmallows, completely unknown to the other members as they disappeared, leaving a pair of normal empty beds behind.

The sound of light giggles went unheard throughout the room.
