Author's Note: Welcome to the semi-finals! We're almost at the finale, and I hope you're just as excited about that as I am!
Racarod: Your English is fine, don't worry! And, yeah, Celestia making it probably isn't the most surprising given her role. And, ooh, interesting dare! I decided to use it as part of a montage, purely because of time restraints—I hope you don't mind!
Dunsparce519: ;)
siramay: Ah, yes! Thank you for pointing that out! And I'm glad you're looking forward to it! :)
Alright, onto the episode!
"Last time on Total Drama Island, yours truly was off emceeing a swanky awards show, so Chef took over as host. And man, was he brutal to the campers! Not only did he dump them in the middle of the woods to fend for themselves, but he left them alone with scary dude Sasquatchankwa! They ran helter, they ran skelter, they ran into a crowded bat cave! Massive mistake, I might add. Ultimately, the two teams decided to share supplies for the night and while Junko was the first to try something underhanded, she was outfoxed by Celeste, proving that the best villains plan ahead.
Chris was back, standing at his spot on the docks. "In the end, it was laid-back Rantaro who took the Dock of Shame, leaving three glutton-for-punishment campers to head into the most exciting challenge yet! Don't believe me? Then I triple dog dare you to watch this episode of...
Total...
Drama...
Island!"
Episode Twenty-Four: I Triple Dog Dare You
The episode opened on a peaceful morning on the island. A bird gracefully flew through the air, only to get startled and fall out of it when it flew by a monitor that came to life.
"Campers!" Chris announced. "Welcome to the semi-finals. Today, we award our challengers with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast!"
The camera cut into the kitchen, where Chef was indeed making pancakes.
"That's right!" Chris continued as Chef flipped a pancake. "Genuine food byproducts served with fresh ingredients relatively close to their expiration date!"
Chef flipped the pancake higher, higher, and higher until it accidentally got stuck to the ceiling. He grunted in annoyance, retrieving a grimy shovel, which he used to scrape the pancake off the ceiling and onto the stack of pancakes already sitting on a plate.
CONFESSIONAL - CELESTIA:
"It is only natural I made it this far," she started as she painted her nails. "Was there any doubt that I would make the Final Three? My only regret is that Maki and Junko has made it this far, but that mistake will be easy to fix."
CONFESSIONAL - JUNKO:
"I made it to the Final Three," she started in genuine disbelief. "Now that I'm in it, I can't back down now. I'm in it to win it!"
CONFESSIONAL - MAKI:
"The Final Three." She paused. "It's not that I'm not happy to have made it this far. I am—mostly. It's just that it's a bit lonely now. At least Junko and Celestia aren't working together anymore, so that gives me one less thing to worry about."
The campers lined up in the restaurant for breakfast. Celestia was first, accepting a small stack without comment, walking over to a table with a look of boredom on her face.
Maki was next, grimacing at her stack—the top was completely covered in dirt, nails, and other unsavory bits and pieces. She didn't say anything about it, however, and walked off to her table as well.
Junko was last, approaching Chef with her tray and a heavy sigh. "Screw it," she told Chef, "give me as much as you can."
Chef side-eyed her but gave her the extra pancakes anyway.
Junko grinned. "Thanks."
CONFESSIONAL - CELESTIA:
"As much as I despise Junko and Maki, though, I must admit—they played a very good game. I intend to be the one to take home the prize money, of course, but they still played well, nonetheless."
CONFESSIONAL - JUNKO:
"Obviously, I wanna be the one to win the money. But, I wouldn't mind if Maki won." She laid down on the confessional seat, kicking her legs up. "I'd also be fine if Celestia didn't make it to the finale."
CONFESSIONAL - MAKI:
"Obviously, I don't like Celestia," she started with a scowl. "But I'm indifferent towards, Junko actually."
CONFESSIONAL - CELESTIA:
"When I win, I am going to use the money and put it towards buying my own castle, complete with handsome men as my servants, aiding my every back and call." She giggled. "Yes, I can feel my dream materializing into the palm of my hands.
CONFESSIONAL - JUNKO:
" I... haven't thought about what I'm going to do with the money if I win," she admitted with a sheepish laugh. "I didn't think I'd make it this far." She paused, and a melancholic look formed on her face. "Actually—scratch that. I want my sister and I to get closer to a better life. Yeah, that's what I'd use the money for."
CONFESSIONAL - MAKI:
"I already know what I'm going to use the money for," she said simply. "I've probably already mentioned this already, but I grew up in an orphanage. They're low on funding at the moment and they need the money more than I do."
CONFESSIONAL - CELESTIA:
"I, for one, am ready for this competition to be over. The isolation from society and the lack of edible food had really taken a toll on my physical and mental health."
CONFESSIONAL - JUNKO:
"I'll be more than happy when this is all over," she huffed, crossing her arms. "All this drama that's been following me has been exhausting. At least I got some friends—and maybe a girlfriend—out of this."
CONFESSIONAL - MAKI:
"I... don't know how I feel about leaving the island," she started with an uncertain expression. "I know that I'll have to go eventually, but..."
The next scene showed Chris and the Final Three at Jabberwock Park. The three girls sat at a makeshift table of bins, boxes, and other various objects across from the host.
"Campers!" Chris announced jovially. "Welcome to the semi-finals! The producers ran out of insane ways to torture you, so, they asked the ousted campers for ideas. Turns out they had a lot. "
The girls exchanged apprehensive looks at that.
"They provided us with the sickest, most twisted and insane dares imaginable in TDI's version of..."
Chris stepped off to the side, revealing a large wooden wheel. Attached to it was a comically large soda bottle, along with the portraits of the eliminated campers along the edge and each one was shown as they were announced.
"Spin the Bottle! Starting with...
Tenko!
Toko!
Kaito!
Shuichi!
Kokichi!
Rantaro!
Kaede!
Makoto!
Mikan!
Ryoma!
Kirumi!
Mondo!
Hiro!
Leon!
Kazuichi!
Ibuki!
Komaru!
Sayaka!
And bad girl turned good, Hiyoko! Put em together and you've got a high stakes game of "I Triple Dog Dare You!"
Celestia scoffed. "What are we in, middle school?"
"Seriously," Junko agreed. "I'd rather play Seven Minutes of Heaven in someone's basement closet."
"Please no," Maki deadpanned.
"Each player will take turns spinning the bottle. The camper you land on will determine what dare you'll perform." He walked over to Chef, who wore a sparkly pink dress complete with gloves, a matching pink Chef's hat, and jewelry, and held a plate with three soda bottles on it. "You can take the dare yourself and win a "get out of dare" freebie," he gestured or the bottles, "or inflict the dare on a fellow competitor in hopes of booting them out."
"What if we refuse the dare?" Maki asked.
"Ooh, not a good option," Chris answered. "Anyone who chickens out their dare will be immediately sent to the Dock and Shame and board the Boat of Losers. Do not go to bonfire, do not collect marshmallow, and do not get to win $100,000!"
CONFESSIONAL - CELESTIA:
"A sudden death elimination?" She tapped her chin in thought. "Hm."
"Okay," Chris grinned. "Who's ready to humiliate themselves first?"
The girls stayed silent for a moment. Maki finally sighed and stood up, walking towards the wheel.
"Let's just get this over with."
CONFESSIONAL - CHRIS:
"Okay, Chef and I have a little side deal going on. First one to puke has to pony up a hundred bucks."
"Okay, let's get this party started!" Chris exclaimed as Maki spun the wheel. When it stopped, it landed on Yasuhiro.
Chris pulled out a card and read it. "Hiro's dare: Hug a cactus."
Both Junko and Celestia cringed at the dare, while Maki stared at Chris, stoic as ever.
"Maki, you can either perform the dare yourself, or dare one of your competitors to do it." Chris tossed the card aside and laughed. "Either way, someone's in the next minute."
"I'll take the dare," Maki finally decided.
"And Maki takes the first dare!" Chris grinned and gestured to Chef, who wheeled in a giant cactus still in the pot. Maki walked up to it, and with no hesitation, hugged the cactus.
A bell dinged, and Maki pulled away without so much as a wince despite the fact that her entire front was covered in thorns, simply plucking them out.
"Maki wins the first freebie!" Chris grinned, handing her a bottle.
"I suppose I shall go next," Celestia volunteered, making her way to the wheel as Maki sat down. She spun the wheel, and it landed on Leon.
"Have your eyebrows shaved," Chris read from the card.
Celestia smirked, looking over at her fellow competitors. "Oh? In that case, I think Junko would benefit the most from a touch-up in the facial department."
"Junko, you're up!" Chris told her.
Junko folded her arms and glared. "Fine."
She stood up and walked over to Chris and Chef, locking eyes with a smiling Celestia, who went and sat back down. She then looked at Chris. "Do I at least get to do it myself?"
"Sure." Chris tossed an electric razor at her and she caught it easily.
Junko flipped the razor on, and everyone watched in nail-biting anticipation as she swiftly shaved the first eyebrow. Then the other. Turning it off, she stared at the others. "Satisfied?" she asked.
"Very," Celestia replied.
CONFESSIONAL - JUNKO:
She rubbed her freshly shaven eyebrows. "Ugh, this sucks," she complained. "I feel like a newborn baby."
"You're not done yet, Junko," Chris said, "cause it's your turn to spin the wheel!"
Junko walked over and gave the wheel a hard spin, and it ended up landing on Kirumi.
"Kirumi's dare is," Chris read, "drink a smoothie made rotten fruits."
Maki and Celestia grimaced while Junko tapped her chin. "Rotten fruit? I think that would pair nicely with a rotten girl." She smirked at her culprit. "Celes, you're up."
Celestia sighed but started her way up anyway. "Karma, is all it is. Well played, Junko."
She and the others watched as Chef dropped a rotten banana and several moldy strawberries into a blender filled with milk and yogurt. Blending it all together, it turned into a disgustingly green-colored smoothie.
He handed Celestia the glass, and she glanced at Chris uncertainly. "Do I get eliminated if I happen to throw up?"
"As long as you get it all down first, then no," he answered.
"Fair enough." Celestia took a deep breath before chugging the smoothie down in one go. Immediately, her face turned nearly the same shade as the drink.
"Oh, man!" Chris exclaimed. "That was so sick! I nearly puked!" Chef gave him a look, and he tacked on, "Nearly."
Suddenly, Celestia's stomach began to gurgle, and she doubled over in pain as the episode faded out.
The episode faded back in to show Chris and Chef standing beside the wheel, and the Final Three back in their seats.
"Welcome back to TDI's semi-finals, and a challenge we like to call "I Triple Dog Dare You!" Chris exclaimed as he walked over to the wheel. "Maki, you're up next."
Maki went up to the wheel and spun it. It landed on Mikan.
Chris read her dare. "Cut your hair down to shoulder-length."
"That's it?" Maki asked skeptically.
"That's it," Chris confirmed.
"I'll do it, then," she said, much to Junko and Celestia's surprise.
CONFESSIONAL - CELESTIA:
She covered her mouth, her face still in shock. "What a bold decision from Maki. I eagerly await the results of this."
Maki held a pair of scissors as she sat down on the chair provided for her. She gathered all of her hair in one hand and cut most of it off in one go with the other. She shook her head a bit, letting her now shoulder-length, though a bit uneven, cut flow freely.
"And Maki wins another freebie!"
Maki caught the bottle that Chris tossed at her before going back to her seat.
Junko grinned at her. "Cool haircut."
Maki pouted and brought her hands up instinctively to smooth down her pigtails, but remembering to the lack of it, she settled on crossing her arms.
Celestia, meanwhile, went up to the wheel next and spun it. It landed on Kaito, and Chris read his dare aloud. "Drink fruit punch from your cottage toilet."
CONFESSIONAL - CELESTIA:
"I have drunk one too many disgusting substances with that "smoothie" earlier." She sighed. "However, if I do not collect as many freebies as so can, I fear I will be the one going home."
"I... will take the dare, " Celestia told Chris with a heavy sigh.
In Celestia's cottage—or, more specifically, the bathroom—Chris poured an entire content of fruit punch inside her toilet, then used a plunger to mix it with the water.
Celestia stared inside the toilet with an absolutely horrified expression at the same time Chris exclaimed, "No way! That's so gross!"
He handed her a bendy straw, and she shuddered but stuck it in anyway. She leaned in and began drinking, sipping until all of it was gone. As soon as she did, however, she covered her mouth and ran out.
Chris and Chef, who stood outside the bathroom door, exchanged a glance with each other, the former asking, "You still cool?"
Chef nodded, though the disturbed look never left his face.
CONFESSIONAL - CHRIS:
"That was so sick!" he exclaimed. "Is there nothing these freaks won't do?!"
Back at Jabberwock Park, Celestia sat with her head diwn, a freebie in front of her, while Maki stared with indifference and amusement respectively.
"Junko, it's your turn!" Chris that as she spun the wheel. "And your dare is..." The bottle landed on Mondo. "Do a backflip off the cliff into shark-infested waters while wearing a piece of meat!"
Junko's eyes widened. "...What?!"
CONFESSIONAL - JUNKO:
"Mondo, dude, what the actual hell is up with that oddly specific dare?!" she asked incredulously. "But I can't not do it—Celestia and Maki already have freebies."
At the top of the thousand-foot-cliff, Junko and Chris watched as Chef approached the former with a large piece of meat hanging from a white string and put it around her neck.
"Nice and snug?" Chris asked.
"Not... really," she replied, adjusting her "necklace".
Chris shrugged. "Well, it's the only one we have, so... Anyway! Ready whenever you are, Junko."
"Right." Junko looked down the cliff and winced. "This isn't gonna get any easier for me, is it? Whatever. I've jumped down this cliff before, I can do it again." Getting herself into position, she backflipped down the cliff and fell down, down, down, and she landed into the net.
"And she sticks the landing!" Chris cheered.
"Gimme my freebie!" Junko yelled up at Chris. She was quickly stopped in her tracks when a couple of sharks popped out of water on either side of her, causing her to yelp and dive into the water, the sharks following.
A montage played, which showed the campers taking on various dares, which included Maki wrestling a crocodile underwater, Celestia getting hit in the face with a giant hand made completely from foam, and finally, Junko having her toenail clipped by Chef, which he promptly chewed on.
The montage ended, and the girls were back in their seats with their freebies; Celestia had none, Junko had two, and Maki took the lead with a whopping ten freebies.
"I can't believe no one's dropped out, and Maki already has ten freebies!" Chris noted. "Junko and Celestia, not so much. But not to worry! There's still plenty to be motivated about!"
"Hey," Junko whispered, leaning towards Maki, "we should start sending dares to Celes so we can take her out."
Celestia leaned in, catching Maki's other ear. "I hope you realize she is only doing this because she thinks you will be easier to beat in the finale."
"Uh, excuse me?" Junko narrowed her eyes. "If I only cared about the people I could beat, I'd be trying to take you to the finale, not him. Cause I'm pretty sure more than a few people would vote against you."
"If they do, then they must be more idiotic than I thought." Celestia leaned in closer. "Even if they were affected by my strategy, most people respect the better players."
Junko leaned in closer as well. "Yeah, well, not everyone appreciates your strategy."
Celestia scoffed. "As if you have room to talk."
"Have either of you heard of personal space?" Maki interrupted, pushing Junko and Celestia away from herself. Both of them muttered their apologies. "Anyway, if you really want my opinion, then I'd rather go to the finale with Junko. She's less annoying." She looked at said girl. "So, yeah. You've got a deal."
Junko grinned as Maki began to divide the freebies between the two as Celestia seethed, glaring at them.
"You three about finished?" an annoyed Chris asked, grabbing their attention. "Trying to host a show here."
"Sorry," Junko apologized, and Maki went up to the wheel and gave it a spin—it landed on Ibuki.
"Ibuki's dare is," Chris read, "to open this Mystery Box." He gestured to a cardboard box, decorated with a marker drawing of Ibuki on the side, sitting on the table beside him.
"...Why is it ticking?" Maki asked, staring at it with an apprehensive look.
"Don't worry, Ibuki said it wouldn't hurt anyone—well, not badly."
Mak stared at it for a moment, then shrugged and walked over to Celestia, placing the box down in front of her. Celestia opened it right at her seat, only to get a face full of glitter, accompanied by a guitar rock tune.
Another montage began, this time showing just Celestia receiving dares, which included her staring at a spider in horrified disgust as it crawled up her face—it was revealed that a gang of them were swarming her, and her climbing into a barrel, which started shaking as soon as she shut it, and it showed Chef at the top of the cliff and promptly throwing the barrel off of it. The montage also showed Junko and Maki using their freebies.
The montage ended, and it was Junko's turn to spin the wheel, who smirked at back at her as she did. The bottle landed on a mischievously grinning Kokichi.
"I cannot tell if this is a good thing, or a bad thing," Celestia grimaced, a lack of freebies in front of her.
"I'm gonna have to say bad," Chris chuckled before reading the dare aloud. "Reveal a personal secret of yours—not including gambling." Looking back up at her, he said, "Interesting. Maybe he's trying to get to the bottom of that name of yours?"
"I... have no idea what you mean by that," Celestia claimed, fidgeting with the ring guard on her finger. "Celestia Ludenberg is my name."
"Yeah, I kinda doubt that," Junko interjected with a snort.
Celestia laughed, nervously, the grip on her finger getting together. "What would you know?"
"I have to agree, actually" Maki added. "Aren't you Japanese? What kind of name is Celestia Ludenberg?"
"Because Taeko Yasuhiro is a loser's name!" Celestia finally snapped, her face twisting into a venomous glare, her accent wavering with each word. "Do I look like a loser to you?! Huh?!"
Maki let her mouth hang open, stunned. "Is... Is Taeko Yasuhiro your real name?"
"Th-That wasn't what I meant to say," Celestia stammered, trying to save face. "Really. I-It was just—"
"Oh, man, it totally is!" Junko exclaimed, laughing.
"Wow," Chris said blankly. "Well, looks like Celestia's out. Or Taeko. I dunno what the situation is here. Either way, you're still out."
"Quoi?" Celestia's anger only bubbled up inside of her. "What the hell do you mean "I'm out?!"
"Yeah," Chris drawled, "you didn't technically accept the dare. If you had, everyone would still know that your real name is Taeko, but at least you'd be in the game!"
Celestia dropped to her knees, gripping her twin drills as she screamed. "GODDAMMIT!" The distraught cry rang out all over, sending birds into flight, squirrels into the trunks of trees, and even the eliminated campers at Playa de Losers drew their attention to it.
"You can't do this to me!" Celestia screamed at Chris, digging her nails into his shoulders, her accent dropped completely.
"Sorry," Chris shrugged half-heartedly. "Them's the rules. So here's the rub: you lose, they win."
Celestia's body shook as she watched Junko hop up and cheer. Maki even let a smile quirk her lips.
Looking back at Chris, she took her hands off of Chris, letting them limply hang to her sides in defeat. "Very well," she spoke, eerily calm, "but mark my words, I will get my revenge."
"Yeah, I'm sure you will," he replied, unconcerned, as he followed her off to the Dock of Shame. He tossed Chef a pair of keys. "It's gonna be a long ride," Chris told him as Junko and Maki followed behind them.
"Oh, yes," Celestia said, now on the Boat of Losers; Chris and the finalists watched this from the docks, "a long ride awaits all who wrong Celestia Ludenberg."
"And then there were two," Chris announced as the boat departed. He turned to Maki and Junko, who shared a satisfied smile with each other. "Tune in to see who will win the check for $100,000 on... Total! Drama! Island!"
Competing - Junko, Maki
Eliminated - Toko, Mondo, Shuichi, Ibuki, Kazuichi, Komaru, Yasuhiro, Mikan, Kirumi, Tenko, Ryoma, Leon, Kaito, Makoto, Sayaka, Kaede, Kokichi, Hiyoko, Rantaro, Celestia
Author's Note: And I hope you enjoyed seeing Celestia's downfall. And I hope it wasn't too blunt. I was originally going to have her lose her hair like Heather did, but felt like it would be too cheap, so I decided on revealing her real name. Brutal? Probably. But it sure is dramatic, and now, Maki is the one is the one with her hair cut! (How do you feel about that?)
Thank you for Skia on Quotev and Racarod on FFN for suggesting dares (the backflip from the cliff and the giant foam hand), I really appreciate it!
And now, we're down to our finalists—Junko and Maki. Most of the people who've commented predicted and/or hoped Maki would be a finalist, so yay! Junko... is probably more of an odd choice, but it'll all come together soon enough.
Of course, I already know who the winner is, but you'll have to stay tuned for the next episode to find that out. Until then, thank you for reading, and your thoughts are always appreciated!
