Today was the day!
Klee started her day with a big wide smile, humming happily as she rushed through her usual early morning chores and got herself prepared for what was to come. She had done all that was needed- she went through a quick bath, got herself a long teeth-cleaning session and then got herself the freshest outfit available in her wardrobe.
And while the guards in the Favonius Knight's HQ flinched a bit as they expected her to be on the path of hardcore fish-blasting, the truth was that Klee wasn't planning any destruction at all- she was getting ready for John's return. Today was the day- the end of the planned month for his return to Mondstadt from Liyue, and she was going to be in her bestest behavior so that Jean couldn't put her in confinement!
Jovially bolting around the city, the red eyes of the little elf studied the overall behavior. Most people didn't seem to be aware of this, but she already saw Amber patrolling the streets and... was that Eula hanging by one of the windmill's very top?
It was so fun to see how these two were reacting to this but... Where did that silly Bard go? Shouldn't he be around waiting for him too since they were close friend? And for a while that confused Klee. Then, she realized the silly bard had actually seen through a very silly mistake they all made: John never said when within the day he was going to turn up.
So, Klee ended up waiting a few hours of... well, being bored! It wasn't easy finding ways to not use her fun toys to blast Hilichurls or go fish-blasting. Kicking her legs as she waited over the gate's arch, she spotted an influx of merchant, nothing new, nothing unusual.
But it was around the second batch of merchants that the little blonde spotted an oddly familiar face in the midst of the crowd. A merchant at first glance, quite normal, but he was together with a girl around her age. With pointy ears like her and with odd green eyes. Blinking at the scene, it was actually the merchant that got Klee's full attention. He had seen his face before.
Soon she ditched her watching duty, calmly stalking the duo through the streets and got even more suspicious when the merchant whose name was something like 'Conan' asked for both Amber and Eula for a tour. Amber was clearly fine with it, but then 'Conan' started to speak like Eula to convince her. It stunned Klee how well he did that, and yet she was even more amused by how delighted Eula was on the moment... before appearing bored.
She continued to check on them for about ten minutes, then she felt pushed into seeing if her suspicion was correct or not by 'happening to stumble on them'. That was something Lisa told her many people tended to do to start in a conversation even if there is no real stumbling involved. How silly!
Still, Klee made the effort and ended up 'crossing paths' with the four.
"Oh, if it isn't Klee!" Amber chirpily greeted.
"Hi Amber, hi Eula," And then she turned to the merchant. "Who are you?"
"Oh, that's a merchant from Sumeru. His name is Conan."
"Nice to meet you... I am sorry, I didn't catch your name," The man spoke, and Klee had the confirmation she needed. It was the voice, his voice from that dream!
Klee frowned, then tilted her head to the side and... then giggled. "That's silly, why would you need to know my name again, John?"
The very moment the word 'John' left her lips, the entire scenario morphed in a somewhat comedic fashion. Amber's smile froze, Eula's boredom melted, and both turned to look back at the young man with perplexed eyes and... John looked back at her in surprise.
"How?"
"I saw you in a dream a long time ago! I knew it you looked like that!" She exclaimed and then jumped forward towards him.
He instantly caught her and pulled her in a hug. He squeezed her tight and she hugged him back, giggling at getting lifted up. It was almost the same as he would do it as a hilichurl!
"You're back!"
"I sure am."
His voice had a degree of unease and after a bit of silence, he appeared quite nervous so suddenly.
"Ladies-"
"How did you- When did you learn how to turn normal?" Eula staggered a bit with her words, while Amber looked like a fish for a moment.
"Around the time I got intercepted by the Fatui and kind of came close to get roasted," John replied. "Hmmm, Klee?"
"Yes~?" She chirpily asked, not minding the little prank he pulled as it was a fun and non-mean one.
"How about you get this chance to meet your surrogate sister? Here, Nahida Klee and Klee Nahida."
In less than a second she was standing on the ground and looking at the fellow child she saw a while ago. They stared at each other for a moment and Klee smiled. The mere gesture drew a smile from Nahida as she shyly waved.
"Hi."
"Hello," Klee beamed. "John told me that you're super smart so... wanna help me make fun bombs?"
Part of her expected the shy girl to look nervous and either deflect or say no, but Nahida looked intrigued as she asked a few questions that sparked the conversation while John got 'chewed up' by both Amber and Eula.
"What kind of fun bombs? Do you have measures? Ideas?" The prodding bolstered her giddy mood and soon they were animatedly chatting about the topic.
Soon they were sitting at one of the tables of the Good Hunter and eating two delicious Golden Chicken Burgers while John had seemingly calmed things down with Eula and Amber and... the silly bard appeared and sat on his lap. What a strange person, but still a funny one with how he teased Eula and Amber about 'having found his throne'.
Yet, despite it all, Klee was glad that Nahida liked the burger. She truly looked happy while eating it.
She was going to make her comfortable while she stay in Mondstadt, like a good big sister should!
AN
Thus Nahida became Klee's Imouto.
Next up, some 'catch up' of a different kind between John and the trio of Mondstadt Lovers that had missed him for a month. Sharing is... caring~.
