"It's not fairrr," April whines, staring at an old photo of her daughter pinned neatly to the fridge.
"Whats not fair?" Jackson asks, grabbing himself a glass from the cupboard nearby.
"She looks just like you."
He can't help but let out a chuckle at that, turning around to face her. "You say that like it's a bad thing. People would pay good money for these Avery genes."
April rolls her eyes in response, "I'm just saying, given what I went through to bring her into the world, the least she could've done is pop out with some red hair or the inability to tan."
"She does look like you though," He begins, causing April to raise an eyebrow in confusion, "I mean, she's tiny. She definitely gets that from you."
That comment causes April to swat him playfully, "I'm average height, ya jerk!"
Jackson smirks, before turning more serious, "Hey, she got a lot of good things, from you, you know. She's stubborn-"
"We agreed that she got that from both of us-"
"Okay, fair. She's also incredibly kind, and she's not nice for recognition or anything - she's kind because its the right thing to do. She's so determined - even if she's bad or fails at something, she keeps going and doesn't complain. She always wants to help someone or something. I think the reason she loves animals so much and is always coming at us with these random facts is 'cos of her visits to the farm. Thats all you."
April suddenly feels her heart swell, as she steps closer to her ex-husband-turned-boyfriend, and kisses him sweetly. "Thank you. We did pretty good there, huh?"
"Sure did."
