Disclaimer: I don't own DC or Marvel
Slight change, I won't go through the unnecessary and confusing task of giving the story a different title every chapter.
As well as some of my own original designs for Spider-men, I was also inspired by the recent lead up/tie in comics for the Spider-Geddon event, the Secret Wars Tie-ins and the new What if Issues, and have also included a who's who of Spider-men from different franchises and media.
Enjoy

Chapter 29: Web warriors gather
Gwen looked at the face of the man she loved, or rather someone who had his face. Jason placed a hand on her shoulder, offering the only comfort he could at the time. Kaine glared at Onyx and the web warriors gathered around the dark warrior. He huffed, throwing his hand forward. The shockwave he created threw the warriors back. Kaine jumped forward, stingers appearing on his arms as he thrust them towards Onyx. But Onyx sidestepped his blow, punched him in the throat, and then grabbed him by his hair. With a swing, Onyx threw Kaine across the room, smashing into a pillar as he flew.
"Mourn your dead, then dare to hope you can stop me," he said, before he disappeared into the dark portal.
Gwen screamed in anger.
"He's dead, I'm going to kill him," she said.
"We just got our arses kicked back there," Billy said.
"And from what we last sensed through the web, I think Onyx is launching an attack on our world," Anya said. "It's just like Virgil said!"
"You mean that guy who brought us together to prevent the Earth 1610 Incursion?" Nora asked.
"Yeah, he tried to recruit me to join his anti-incursion team. But I was dedicated to you guys I..."
"Do not worry Anya Corazon, go back to your world, help defend it from Onyx's forces. You too should go Kaine," Karn said, limping to the centre of the web warriors. "Onyx is beginning his assault across the Multiverse. He was behind the Inheritors, perhaps even the incursions themselves. We need to do what we can to mitigate the damage he causes," Karn explained.
"So it's time for a recruitment drive," Spider-Ham said.
"Uncle Ben is in my world, I can get him to help out," May said.
"But we must broaden our reach to other worlds," the other web warriors nodded their heads at what Karn suggested.
"Miguel O'Hara is busy defending his world alongside his Avengers," Karn said.
"There's an Avengers 2099?" Jason asked.
2099
Miguel O'Hara had joined with the newly unveiled Avengers of his timeline. Hercules of the old era still fought as hard as he had in the past, crashing his fists into Parademons. The new Captain America was just as inspiring and commanding as her past counterpart. She coordinated the usually corrupt public eye into a force that protected the civilians. Her other team mates cut a swath through the Parademons alongside Miguel. Iron man unveiled cannons on his shoulders, unleashing a battery of laser fire. Black Widow jumped from one demon to another, cutting into them with her mechanical legs and shocking them with her gauntlets. Hawkeye flew in the air, grabbing Spider-man's web line and throwing them towards the ring of Parademons protecting Grail. Miguel slashed one across the face, using it as a board to advance closer to Grail. She brandished the trident of Aquaman, thrusting it towards Miguel. He turned in midair, narrowly avoiding the trident. Then he jumped off of it, landing behind Grail. She turned and removed Wonder Woman's lasso from her belt. Suddenly, a public eye ship slammed down on top of her.
"HOH, good distraction Spider-man," Hercules said, landing beside the ship he had just thrown.
"Now to finish this," Iron man said, turning his batteries on the ship.
The explosion it produced threw Grail upwards. She twisted in midair, landing with her skin smoking, but still very much alive and angry.
"No need for them to have all the fun," a voice said behind Grail.
She turned, seeing her new opponent. A woman in a red and black costume, blue lines glowing across it. She lifted up a pair of laser cannons, grinning beneath her mask.
"Time for Deadpool 2099 to join the fray," she said, before firing at Grail.
616-New York
The ceiling had come down, separating the X-men from the members of the Spider-man family. Colossus was trapped with American Daughter, Emma Frost with Black Cat and Shadowcat with Prowler. That left Cyclops and Spider-man both facing one another.
"We don't have time for a fight, I'm trying to find Mayday," Peter said.
"I couldn't agree more, but you know what's going to happen when we do find her," Cyclops said.
"I'm not going to get dragged into a debate with you Summers, she's my daughter, she is not going to go to Utopia or your school, period!"
Suddenly, a laser blast flew towards Peter. Scott dived forward, tackling Peter out of the way.
"Where's that spider-sense you keep going on about?" he demanded.
"Haven't got it right now," Peter quickly got off of the, looking at the hole in the ceiling and what had appeared to fight them.
Parademons declared 'for Darkseid' as they swarmed at the X-men and spider family members. Colossus punched them whilst Sarah used her shield to bash and decapitate others. Emma put her hands to her head, reading their minds. She flinched, quickly stopping her mental probe.
"They imagining us naked?" Felicia asked, brandishing her claws.
"Imagine every stereotype of Satanism put into Star Wars, then amplify it by ten," Emma said, forming her diamond skin.
"Sounds like a comic con party gone wrong," Black Cat huffed as she pounced at the Parademons.
Peter webbed one of the demons up, leaving it open for Cyclops to shoot. He then flipped up as one dived towards him, landing on its back and punching the back of its head. When one came up behind him, Cyclops blasted it through the wall.
"We need to change the field," Scott said.
Shadowcat suddenly ran through the wall with Prowler, who blasted a demon through the head.
"Hopefully the others up top are having better luck," Hobbie muttered.
On the streets, Puma and Rocket Racer had both been diverted away from the search for Mayday. They joined with members of the Initiative in fighting the Parademon invasion. That left Patrick and Miles to search, the pair swinging through the streets.
"MAYDAY!"
"MAYDAY!" both yelled.
Miles landed on a gargoyle, rubbing his head.
"Where could she be, oh man, I hope she's okay," he said.
"Don't worry we'll find her," Patrick said, patting the young spider's back.
They looked onto the streets, at a sweet shop, where a table was suddenly thrown through the window. Both junior Spider-men jumped from their podiums, swinging straight towards the windows and perching at their edges. Inside the store, the owner was cowering by the cashier desk, whilst the little mutant spider that was Mayday Parker stood on the counter, ripping through candy bars and the like. She looked at the two men and snarled.
"Hey little buddy, remember me?" Patrick asked.
Suddenly, she spat a blob of webbing into his eyes, knocking him off of his perch. She then lashed one of her spider legs at Miles, forcing him to dive back. He turned invisible, watching Mayday crawl out of the store. When she tried to swing away he fired a web line at her foot, and pulled her back onto the streets. She landed on her chin and let out a cry.
"Oh no, I'm so sorry," Miles said, suddenly appearing in front of her.
She grit her teeth together, then roared at Miles. The mutant spider jumped at Miles, punching him across the face a few times. Patrick yanked the webbing off of his face, just in time for Miles to get thrown on top of him. Fluids shot out of Mayday's mouth, trapping both spiders on the ground. Miles and Patrick's heads were pressed together, both groaning over the awkward position. They heard Mayday giggle as she swung away.
"Well, at least she still has her old sense of humour," Miles muttered.
Spectacular Verse
Billy and Spider-Noir looked down from the rooftop of Midtown High, to see Peter Parker being guided out of the school on a stretcher.
"Well, this is a bloody mess," Billy said.
"He got turned into a damn vegetable, let's try somewhere else then," Noir huffed.
Billy pushed a button on his transporter, the two men disappearing. But not before a young Flash Thompson looked up and noticed the two men pass through the portal.
Tarnarus
Earth was long gone, in its place was the artificial world of Tarnarus. Former from the magic of the Ancient One, with the Infinity gauntlet, Tarnarus was the five hundred year old home of humanity. No bigger than the moon, it had on it the city of Avalon, after the great nationof the legendary king. The architecture and clothing was all based upon Victorian era London, but it was a world of oddities and wonders. The last of humanity lived alongside werewolves, vampires and the descendants of the monsters of Frankenstein. They forged an uneasy peace between one another, enforced by the red and gold armoured Stark-Guard, keepers of the last technology. The Stark-Guard kept the peace within Tarnarus, whilst the city itself was protected by the Sorcerer Supremes.
Within the Sanctum Sanctorum, young apprentice mage Peter Parker studied the great web. The sixteen year old had messy brown hair, and wore a white shirt with a black vest and trousers. He gazed at the web, manifested as a web pentagram. The web had been broken, and darkness seeped from it. Peter clapped his hands together, shrinking the pentagram into nothingness. This was perhaps just one more crisis added to the duties of the Sorcerer Supremes. Between the threats of a Shiar-Kree alliance invasion of Tarnarus and the dead Earth's predicted collision with another universe's Earth, the darkness was stretching the Sorcerers to their limits.
'You can't take this to master Fury Peter,' he muttered to himself.
He passed by the jars containing the black and red tars of corruption, when he sensed through the web, the breaching of the worlds. As a practitioner of the webs spells, he could sense danger before its arrival. Sensing breaches was an extension of that ability. He formed the appropriate signs with his hands, his two middle fingers pushing into his palms, index and pinkies raised, runes glowing around them.
"Hey, easy on the mystic web shooters," said a creature that resembled an extinct Earth creature, a pig.
"If you want to shoot Spider-ham, we wouldn't really mind," said a girl in a black and white suit.
"You, your outfits, they're like the lost warriors of the web," Peter said, lowering his hands.
"Web warriors, that's us," Spider-Ham saluted as Anya offered Peter her hand.
"We came here looking for help," Anya said.
"To fight the darkness right, to repair the web," Spider-girl smiled at Peter's understanding. "The answer is yes, I will accompany you."
Earth NuZeta
The Multiverse was known to this Earth. An Earth consumed by ancient Greek culture. As well as an Earth that was flat. On the top half was the world of men, occupied by wondrous creatures and occasionally visited by the gods of Mount Olympus. Whilst underneath was the underworld, ruled by Hades. In the beautiful, mountain ranges of man's world, a warrior of Arachne fought alongside the daughter of Zeus herself. Diana of Themyscera cut down one bone warrior after another, slamming her gauntlets together and shaking the very mountain she fought on.
"I count kappa my love," she said, grabbing a warrior with her lasso and swinging it like a Morningstar.
Suddenly, the warrior of Arachne crashed through the wall behind Diana, riding on top of a man Rhino. He steered the creature into a wall, before jumping off and drawing his sword. The man was wearing sandals and red greaves and gauntlets, his blue shorts also had a red armour belt on them. A web tattoo was on his shoulder, a blue scarf was wrapped around his neck and he wore a red helmet. His shield also had the mark of the great web upon it.
"Your uncle it seems also bears ill will towards our unity," said Petros.
"And we aren't even married yet," Diana grinned, drawing her own sword as more skull warriors came out of the ground.
"Blasted Hades commands the dead, you should call Pegasus and run," Petros said.
"Never, if this is to be our end, it will be together," Diana looked at the man she loved and fought with every fibre of her being to pull him into a kiss.
Just as the skull warriors were about to charge however, a portal opened above them.
"We must be scraping the bottom of the barrel going to Earth 300," Jason Doyle, Spider-man of Earth 65 landed, kicking the head off of one of the skeletal attackers.
"I'm surprised there's a 300 on your Earth, what is it about 300 barely dressed muscular Spartan women? Actually that sounds pretty nice, and sexist at the same time I know," said Spider-pool, avoiding eye contact with Spider-Gwen.
Spider-Pool drew his swords and disarmed, then beheaded the skull warriors in front of him. Pavitr shook his head at the Spider-man/Deadpool Amalgams antics. He, Gwen and Jason had already picked up the new web warrior on an Earth where research on spiders had been used to cure Wade Wilson's cancer, as well as give him the abilities of a Spider. He wore the same outfit most Deadpools wore, but the black parts of his costume were blue and he had wider lenses on his mask.
"What is the meaning of this?" Petros demanded, taking off his helmet and revealing his long and dirty brown hair.
After a lengthy explanation the web warriors revealed to Petros the state of the Multiverse and the battles going on across it. As they finished their explanation, a great portal opened in the sky, and Parademons began to fly towards the mortal cities below. Petros took a few steps towards the edge of the cliff, only for Diana to grab his hand.
"No my love, this is my battle, these warriors of the web need you," she said.
The warrior of Arachne hesitated, caressing Diana's cheek. Putting their arms around one another, they slammed their lips together, kissing with all the passion they could muster in one moment.
"Return to me with your shield, or upon it," she said as they separated.
"Do not leave me alone in this world," he whispered before he walked to the web warriors.
They opened their own portal and Petros looked back, seeing the woman he loved launching herself towards the forces of Apokolips.
Earth 616
Peter punched a Parademon in the head, as hard as he could. He webbed another in the eyes, jumping over it as it flew into the wall. Jumping from one demon to the next, Peter made his way to the streets, spinning over a blast fired by a Parademon at Blackwing. Beak shot the demon apart as Tempest set one alight and froze another. Spider-man continued web swinging, kicking demons into walls and jumping off of them. He bounced off a Parademon, just as Sun-Girl tackled the creature in midair.
"May," he whispered, tears soaking the inside of his mask.
Landing on a rooftop, Peter looked at the utter chaos that had engulfed the city. Cops fired at Parademons. Rage and Captain Ultra engaged Parademons on one street, Silver Claw and Sleepwalker engaged them on another. In the air, Justice, Firestar and the Richard Rider Nova collided with swarms of Parademons. But all through it, Peter was just an ordinary man, who desperately wanted to find his daughter.
"We need to get ahead of Spider-man, find the girl before he does and get her under control," Cyclops said as Shadowcat phased him and Emma through the floor and onto the streets.
He saw Kitty going back under, retrieving Prowler, Sarah, Black Cat and Colossus.
"We're here to help Scott, not kidnap her," Kitty said.
"Am I the only one who got a vision in my head?" Piotr asked.
"I love you, but we need to focus on the current situation Pete."
"Spider-man is not thinking clearly," Cyclops said.
"Actually Scott, if anyone isn't thinking clearly, it's you!"
Cyclops looked up and widened his eyes. Floating above him was Jean Grey, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Prestige and Storm. All of them, with the exception of Wolverine, were in new costumes. Logan was wearing his classic yellow spandex and growled as he walked towards Scott.
"I told you bub, lay off Parker and his family," he popped out his claws for good measure, pointing them at Scott's nose.
"And I told you Logan..."
"That's enough Scott," Jean said, stepping in between both men.
"Familiar scene isn't it?" Kurt asked Piotr. "I had almost forgotten these two were at odds."
"Da," Colossus said.
"You weren't the only one little brother, myself, Kurt and even Logan experienced the same vision, they're memories that have returned to us," Storm explained. "We all remembered the Titans!"
"We are not here to debate or fight, we're here to save a girl's life. Look at what's going on Scott, this isn't about mutant or human kind, it's about life and death, get your head out of the whole 'mutant extinction' issue and see that. If Peter doesn't want us to take Mayday, then we are not going to abduct her," Jean explained.
"We have to keep her safe no matter what it takes," Scott said.
"As you kept Nathan safe?" Jean retorted.
"That's low Jean."
"But not wrong, we are hardly the kind of people to debate with Peter about being able to keep children safe, we find Mayday and no more fighting super heroes," Jean turned and began moving ahead.
The other X-men followed, all of them prepared to fight for a girl in the chaos of the war against darkness.
Earth 210
Flash Thompson wore the costume of Spider-man, or his version of it. A red and black suit, with a black spider symbol on his chest and red pads on his black gloves. This was a world where Flash was bitten by the spider that should have bitten Peter Parker. But in other worlds, Spider-man was Flash's greatest hero, a man whom inspired him to be better. Flash became Spider-man, but he had not become better, he had only realised that when he accidentally killed Peter. Now he sat cuffed, in the back of a police truck, waiting to go to prison. Suddenly, there was a great crash and the truck was thrown on its side.
"Seriously? Are we seriously considering this?" a woman asked on the other side of the door.
"I know how you feel, but we need more spiders," spoke another woman.
The door was torn open, revealing to Flash two Spider-women, one in a blue and red one, the other in a black one with red web patterns, it also had her mouth and dark hair exposed.
"Flash Thompson, consider this a drafting," May said, frowning at the man who killed this universe's version of her father.
"And believe me, there's little choice in the matter," Rio Morales said, shooting a web at Flash's chest and pulling him to her.
Earth 001
Flash stumbled through the portal and widened his eyes in shock. It wasn't a sight that impressed Rio or May, but it was a sight. The web warriors had taken a ship from the harbour and were sailing across the sea. Ezekiel stood near the mast, with the selection of new Web Warriors he had gathered.
From one universe he had brought a Spider-man in red and blue Iron man type armour, his helmet having seven glowing eyes on it. Another Spider-man had a white spider on his chest and white pads on his knuckles and feet. A third Spider-man he had brought with him was clearly Peter Parker, though he was wearing a black and yellow suit with long yellow gloves reaching past his elbows, yellow boots and a pair of goggle lenses over his eyes. Next to him stood an older Peter Parker, his hair shaved and wearing green fatigues, a version of his shirt with shortened sleeves and finger less gloves, and most astonishingly a backpack similar to what the Falcon used. Another Spider-man didn't wear a costume, but his skin was red and he had no hair, monstrous fangs and eyes and he worn some kind of web loin cloth. There was a third group that appeared to be a family, Spider-man, a Mary Jane in a white and red costume and Domino mask, a girl who resembled them both, wearing a red domino mask, a black and blue suit and a red bag on her hip. Ezekiel also seemed to have brought the Prowler with him, though this Prowler had based his mask and cape on Spider-man's colour scheme. An additional Spider-man was shorter than the others, indicating his age, but he wore an advanced suit with gold armour on his wrists and gold lining on his shoulders, and along the blue spider mark on his chest, additionally the young Spider-man's eye lenses glowed. Finally there was a Spider-man in a black costume, with the Punisher's symbol on his chest, and gun placements on his web shooters.
"Wow, great work Ezekiel," Gwen said as she and her recruits entered.
They were quickly followed by Anya, Spider-Ham and their mage recruit. The Ben Parker Spider-man stood near the helm, alongside Nora Morales, May Parker's successor as Spider-girl. Much like her brother Miles, she wore the Spider-girl costume but with a black and red colour scheme.
"We're still waiting on Billy and Noir," Ezekiel said.
There was a boom and both Noir and Spider-UK walked through the portal they created.
"Well, the Spectacular Spider-man is incapacitated, all the Spiders from 610 are fighting off an invasion, and TAS is still missing in action," Noir explained.
"But we still brought some reinforcements with us," Billy grinned underneath his mask, unveiling his recruits.
Peni Parker and her spider robot, the Aaron Aikman Spider-man, the Manga-Verse Spider-man ninja, the Hobie Brown Spider-Punk, the Ghost-Spider of Earth 11638, the duo of Spider-Peter and Spider-Ben and the Lady Spider of Earth 803.
"Great job guys, man, our chances are good," May said.
A final portal opened and Kaine emerged, leading behind him numerous Spider-men, all of them Peter Parker. The Spider-man of Earth 67, a six armed Spider-man, the web-caped Spider-man of 'Unlimited', a Spider-man who used Doctor Octupus's arms, the billionaire Spider-man who wore the silver Spider-armour and a Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider, his vest being a dark blue colour instead of the traditional light blue.
"I brought some help, now I'm heading back," Kaine adjusted his portal device and created another gateway.
"Kaine, where are you going, the fight's here," Gwen said.
"Before I picked up these idiots, I went to my world, an invasion is going on there, we won't be getting any spiders from 616," Kaine explained. "I'm going back!"
"There are plenty of heroes on 616 to fight the good fight there!"
"My niece is in danger, when the web was destroyed, it changed her, I'm going to do whatever it takes to save her," Kaine said, determination across his face as he stepped through the portal.
"Let him go," Ezekiel said. "It's time we focused on our task!"
"What is our task?" the young Spider-man in his Stark suit asked.
"There's a reason we got magic Spider-man," Anya said, patting the mage Peter's shoulder.
"He kind of looks like a Sieg from Fate/Apocrypha cosplay doesn't he?" 'PS4' Spider-man asked MCU Spider-man, who chuckled.
"Multiverse theory, man this is crazy scary, I kept saying 'I don't want to go' at first," the young Spider said.
"What changed your mind?"
"The fact that if I didn't accept Ezekiel's offer, I was going to crumble into dust," the other Spider-men around him raised their eyebrows as they stared at him. "I'm going to get better...at least I hope," he muttered.
"Peter is going to create a portal that will lead us to the gap," Anya said, speaking louder so that the chatting Spider-men could hear her.
"Are you kidding, that's it, I'm sending my partner back," Spider-Ben said, indicating the thirteen year old Spider-man on his shoulders.
"I can do this Uncle Ben," he said.
"I agree, if we're going into enemy territory, we need people with experience," the Spider-Ben of the eradiated Earth said.
"We're running out of time, whatever we decide, it has to be now, whilst the possibility of anyone going to the gap is a foreign idea to Onyx, we need to go now," Ezekiel explained. "We need to take the fight to him!"
DC-Earth 0.52
It was the new designation Uatu the Watcher had for that Earth. For whilst this was 'an' Earth 0, there was another Earth 0. One where a battle was taking place, seemingly unconnected from the great battle with the darkness. But it can never be assumed that things are not connected. For the reason Uatu stood on the moon of another Earth, was because he was witnessing an event of significance to Earth 616. He looked up towards an invisible jet, seeing that inside of it was Steve Trevor, and the fully armoured Cade Hunter.
"The portal is near the moon, Justice League is responding to a volcano eruption, but I managed to get us some back up," Steve said.
Cade looked out of the window and saw the Green Lantern, Simon Baz flying alongside it.
Activating his helmet, he opened the pressure hatch and flew towards the surface of the moon. Martian Manhunter was already there, and meeting Simon and Cade halfway was Hawkman. Though his armour was significantly different from what he had worn when he fought the Atlanteans. His gold armour covered his entire body, his helmet included red eye lenses and a breather mask was covering his mouth. He carried in place of his axe a mace.
"Trevor, I have formed telepathic bonds between myself, Hawkman and Green Lantern so that we may communicate. However given Cade Hunter's strong mental defences, it will be quite impossible to form one with him," J'onn explained.
"I understand J'onn, we'll do the best we can," Steve said.
Cade narrowed his eyes at the portal in orbit with the moon. He could sense great darkness within the portal, but a light struggling to shine through it all. A battle was going on there, it was not the staging ground of an invasion, but a stepping off point. Whatever dark army was laying waste to that world, intended to claim this world next. Cade materialised his scythes as figures began coming out of the portal. Five flyers at first, then a shuttle that Cade recognised as being of Kree design. Though there were some elements in it that Cade also recognised S.W.O.R.D. incorporating into their station. Cade stepped in front of his 'allies' an order for them to hold back for now. He looked closely at the five flyers.
They were all dressed in matching black and green uniforms, each bearing a silver starburst symbol on it. They all wore Kree helmets as well, energy fields protecting their eyes and mouths. But one, a woman had a tuft of blonde hair poking out of the middle of it. Following soon after the ship came swarms of creatures that Cade would have called Parademons, if not for the bird like wings on their arms.
"Great it seems you were right Cade, there is an invasion from another world," Steve said.
"Prepare yourselves," J'onn said. "They're heading this way!"
Next Chapter 30: Searching, Fighting, Breaking
Hope everyone enjoyed the chapter, I really enjoyed writing it, most of the Spider-men Kaine assembled were from the mid nineties Spider-man Animated Series (which as well as the same universe set X-men series, were my introduction to Marvel comic book heroes). As indicated from my front cover (you'll spot him somewhere) Spider-man from 'TAS' will appear in the story, and Spectacular Spider-man won't stay down for long.
Next time Peter's search for Mayday continues with some unexpected help, both Aeon and Deathblade lead respective Avengers and League teams against an invasion force. Meanwhile Iron lad's group attempt a daring break out.
