Ryan's first few weeks with the Cohens are full of culture shocks, good ones and bad. He's still coming to grips with being abandoned by his mother. Sandy and Kirsten do their best to let Ryan know he can trust them and he belongs in Newport Beach.

Ryan Atwood is transgender. She comes to Newport with a chance to be herself. Along the way she finds new friends and even helps the Cohens by helping Seth through her own gender transition.

Kirsten goes to rehab; Seth goes to therapy. Set in between seasons 2 and 3. Mostly dialogue, kind of a character/relationship/family study. Probably a one shot, but could end up a two-shot.

Gabriella Stone, a 16 year old girl in high school, meets a jaded boy in a cemetery one night. Never did she think that Evan Richardson would change her life forever. Gabriella learns the truth about the world. Evan is a troubled orphan boy who is part of the Gifted. When he meets Gabriella his powers stop working and he will do anything to get his powers back.

Starts after episode, The Girlfriend, in Season 1. After seeing her father manhandle Ryan viciously, Kirsten agrees with Sandy to move them all to Berkeley. This is how they try to help Ryan adjust and how they eventually become a family. Next chapter up!

A follow-up to Deconstructing the Egg set the summer after Season 2. Kirsten is in rehab, Trey is in a coma, Ryan is nursing untold injuries in the pool house and Seth is trying to make sense of the mess inside his mind.
