Cokeworth, Spinner's End

Severa Snape was upset, very upset. She had just gotten back from her second year at Hogwarts 3 weeks ago and now it seemed like everything was taking a turn for the worse, first, she and Lily got into a fight resulting in Lily not talking to her, and now this? Her summer was not looking up.

"Why do you have to go?"She asked her only other friend, Dom. "can't you just stay?" her voice carried loads of sadness. "I mean, what does Los Angeles have that you can't find here?"

"Dom sighed, running his hand through his unruly hair. "I know it sucks, Sev," he said softly. "But my parents got a job offer there, and they're insisting we move."

Severa frowned, her brows knitting together in frustration. "But what about us?" she protested. "What about our plans for the summer?"

He shook his head, a pained expression crossing his face. " wish I could stay, you know that. But I can't change their minds."

Severa looked away, trying to blink back the tears threatening to spill over. 'It's not fair,' she whispered.

'I know,' Dom replied, his voice gentle. "But we'll still keep in touch, right? Phone calls, Letters, maybe even a visit if we can swing it."Despite herself, Severa managed a small nod. "Yeah, okay,' she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'll miss you, though.'

'I'll miss you too,' Dom said, reaching out to squeeze her hand. 'But hey, maybe this will give you and Lily some time to patch things up.'

Severa's fake smile fell. "what good is a relationship with Lily if I don't have you?"

Dom's expression softened, understanding the depth of Severa's pain. He pulled her into a tight hug, offering what little comfort he could. "You're stronger than you think, Sev," he murmured. "And even though I won't be physically here, I'll always be rooting for you. And who knows? Maybe this time apart will make your bond with Lily stronger than ever."

As Severa sobbed in Dom's embrace, her heart felt like it was breaking into a million pieces. The weight of his impending departure pressed down on her, filling her with a profound sense of loss and despair. Today was supposed to be a good day, but now it was tainted by the bitter reality of saying goodbye to her only other friend.

Tears streamed down Severa's cheeks uncontrollably as she clung to Dom, wishing desperately that she could stop time and keep him by her side forever. The thought of facing the summer without him, without his laughter and his unwavering support, was unbearable.

"Please don't leave," she whispered, her voice cracking with emotion. "I don't know what I'll do without you."

Dom's eyes glistened with unshed tears as he held her tighter, his own heart heavy with the pain of parting ways. "I wish I could stay, Sev," he murmured, his voice trembling with emotion. "But you know I have to go."

Severa buried her face in his chest, the sobs wracking her body as she struggled to come to terms with the reality of their separation. The thought of facing the days ahead without him felt like a gaping void, a loneliness she couldn't bear to imagine.

"I'll never forget you, Severa Snape," Dom whispered, his words a bittersweet promise. "You'll always be in my heart."

With a heavy heart, Severa finally released him from her grasp, watching through tear-filled eyes as he walked away, each step taking him further from her. As he disappeared from view, Severa felt a deep sense of emptiness settle in her chest, a void that only Dom could fill.

Alone and heartbroken, Severa knew that the pain of his absence would linger long after he was gone. As she sat there in tears, she heard the sound of footsteps coming her way.

As she looked up, she was met with green, bright green eyes and long red hair flowing behind the girl, lily, her her second now only friend.

"Sev? Are those tears? are you crying?" her voice carried shock with hints of worry.

Severa hastily wiped her tears away, trying to compose herself before Lily could see her in such a vulnerable state. "N-no, it's nothing," she stammered, forcing a weak smile. "Just something in my eye."

But Lily wasn't fooled. With a concerned furrow of her brow, she crouched down beside Severa, her eyes searching hers for the truth. "Sev, you can tell me," she said gently, reaching out to brush a stray tear from Severa's cheek. "What's wrong?"

Severa felt her resolve crumble as she looked into Lily's caring gaze. With a heavy sigh, she spook a lie. "It's really nothing, lis." her voice more convincing. "just something in my eye, you know stuff keeps flying around."

Her cheeks hurt from how hard she forced the face smile, lily really had horrid timing, she felt like she was going to break if she kept this up.

Lily nodded as she sat next to her. "well, I've been meaning to catch you up on Putuina." She moved her hands like crazy as she spoke about her sister. "she's the biggest pain in the bum! I mean, she acts like..."

As Lily went on her everyday rant about her sister, severa sat there dazed, not really listening. She wasn't in the mood to listen to Lily's 'problems', she knew whatever Lily went through, she still lived in a big house with two loving parents, yet acted like her life was hell on earth.

lily hadn't just lost more the one friend, even tho she mostly hung out with Dom, she loved to play with Mia, or 'mini Mia' as she liked to call her, Dom's little sister.

she didn't hang around Jakob, Dom's little brother, much as he hung around his own friends, but when around made it oh so clear of his crush on her.

Just think of all the times she ran away from her father's fist and into the warm home of the Torettos made her sick to her stomach. She couldn't do this, no, not now.

She couldn't hold it in any longer. She bolted up, shouting her mumbled apologies at Lily before she ran and didn't stop until she fell to her knees and threw up whatever little breakfast she had onto the middle of the road.
