The Year is 3023
For the last few years, Human Christians have richly profited from trade in New Krypton.
They have kept its whereabouts hidden from their sworn rival-The Insane.
In Oh-Suck-Ah, the reigning chancellor has died leaving behind his jilted influential wife. The Council of Five Kage (Ho, Kaze, Mizu, Rai, and Tsuchi) is now trapped in a bitter struggle. All of them seek the title of chancellor which would make their power absolute.
Kon-El brought it upon himself to command five Poseidon-class subs making him a commodore of sort only it lacked any authorization. On the long journey from Earth to New Krypton, Kon lost four subs to either disaster or mutiny. The sub he personally commanded was in bad shape having been hit several times by the minefield surrounding New Krypton. It was going down.
The severely damaged sub entered the atmosphere and crashed into the ocean not too far from the coast. As it happened, the entire civilization of New Krypton was on a string of islands on a near-ocean planet. The planet orbited a red giant within the habitable zone. The planet was not overly stable with intense earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The land was a combination of mountains, agricultural valleys, and extensive coastline where the major cities were located. New Krypton was nearly completely isolated from the rest of the galaxy by design. The people were suspicious and hostile to outsiders.
As soon as the sub crashed, Kryptonian soldiers were there on the spot. They wore black armor and translucent forcefield helmets from centuries before. They were under the command of Captain Kash-Mi. His squad entered the sub and noticed several injured human crew members. Going deeper inside, Kash eyed another fallen crew member.
"Decompression sickness," he identified.
Kon suddenly emerged from the darkness and tried to get away. A few Kryptonian soldiers tried to apprehend him, but he was too strong. More joined in until they eventually subdued him and forced him to pass out. "He's not human. What is he?" one soldier asked of Kon.
"He's Insane," Kash said hauntedly.
Oh-Suck-Ah
Councilor Tor-Argo was one of five on New Krypton's Council. He was high-born, ambitious, secular, and a badass. He had desires to sack the Council and become an absolute ruler. Until then, he had to bother with the other councilors who wanted him dead. These other councilors were Ish-Do, Kiy-Sad, Sug-Jo, and Har-Bu. Ish-Do was a rising star, a self-made man, competent, and reasonable. Kiy-Sad was bribed into accepting Christianity. Sug-Jo bribed his way into getting on the council. Har-Bu looked fucked-up due to a terminal illness and had converted to Christianity to get superior Brainiac care.
They were all given titles of Kage. Ish-Do was the Hokage (Fire), Kiy-Sad was the Mizukage (Water), Sug-Jo was the Raikage (Lightning), and Har-Bu was the Tsuchikage (Earth/Rock). Tor-Argo was the Kazekage (Wind).
"Welcome to Oh-Suck-Ah," Ish-Do welcomed Tor-Argo with false sincerity.
Tor-Argo noticed all four councilmen were on one side of the table across from him. "I'm feeling a little apprehensive about this seating arrangement," he said dryly.
"We thought it appropriate because we all hate you," Kiy-Sad said bluntly.
"In the year since the chancellor's death, we've noticed you making moves to overthrow us," Ish-Do said accusingly.
"How?" Tor-Argo scoffed.
"Six marriages to increase your influence and you've doubled your land jurisdiction," Ish-Do pointed out. "And a large-ass army, and a fleet, and a space dock, and nuclear weapons research, and...,"
Tor-Argo merely rolled his eyes. "If the Council is really pissing its pants over me, let them be assured I will not be the first to break the peace."
"How queer? Just now, you've taken the late chancellor's wife hostage in your compound in Eod," Ish-Do pointed out.
"Katar's sister is in labor and she's my daughter-in-law. I'm merely doing what any good father-in-law would do," Tor-Argo lied.
"That sounds like bullshit. Maybe you're keeping Katar hostage to guarantee your safety here," Ish-Do theorized.
"Bitch, please, you can't do anything to me here. Katar can leave my compound anytime she pleases just like I can leave Oh-Suck-Ah whenever the fuck I want...right?" Tor-Argo challenged.
"What would the late chancellor think of you using his wife as a pawn in your game?" Ish-Do rebuked.
"I think he would have been amused," Tor-Argo said knowingly.
"His dying wish was for us to share power until a new chancellor among us could be elected," Ish-Do reminded him.
"And I look forward to that day," Tor-Argo lied. "These meetings are exhausting. I'm no politician. Just a humble man who wants to get back to his farm."
"You're so full of shit. Let me put it to you in a way you can understand. The Council has voted that you return Katar under penalty of...impeachment," Ish-Do threatened.
"I'm shaking," Tor-Argo rolled his eyes.
The Council doors burst open as one of Tor-Argo's men came out with a red lightsaber in hand. "This is bullshit! Councilor Tor-Argo has done everything according to the law. How dare you call him a traitor?" he shouted. Other men also barged in to defend the councilors. The whole room had people pointing lightsabers of various colors at each other.
"Holy shit, man. Yoshi, stand the fuck down!" Tor-Argo ordered.
Yoshi lowered his lightsaber. "Apologies, I just couldn't bear to hear such bullshit."
"I know, right?" Tor-Argo agreed.
"If I don't get satisfaction for this near-assassination, I'm going to initiate a vote to fuck you up and your entire clan," Ish-Do threatened.
"Fuck me," Tor-Argo realized. "I'll handle this."
"I'm not surprised by this childish outburst by an officer of your clan. It's an insult to New Krypton's proud thousand-year legacy. "Release Katar and then we will vote on your fate."
"So...am I free...to go?" Tor-Argo wondered.
The other councilors left the room giving him no reply.
On the coast, Kash continued his inspection of the crashed ship. Kash sent word to his uncle, General, Kash-Ya, on his findings. Kon and the human crew members were thrown into jail.
"They're Kryptonians. You can all thank me now for reaching New Krypton. It wasn't easy but will my brilliant leadership, we're here," Kon said impressed with himself. "You're welcome."
"Fuck this," one crew member said to him.
"Hey...hey...your orders are still on," Kon reminded him.
"What part of this is still on?" one crew member asked dismayed.
"I got us through the minefield, and we have shit to trade still," Kon pointed out.
"They've confiscated our ship. They're just going to take it," one crew member pointed out.
"Well...shit," Kon frowned.
"When they realize we're with an Insane captain, they'll kill us all," one crew member said anxiously.
"They don't know I'm Insane. I'm half-Kryptonian after all. We're not spies or conquerors. We're just merchants trying to find our way back home," Kon told them all. "Here is what you all fail to realize. We've gone through space-storms, gravitational waves, pestilence, starvation, and we should all be corpses by now...after one week of my command...but...here we are."
"There are only twelve of us still alive and we all smell like shit!" one crew member complained.
"Hey, our mission is to fight the Brainiac horde and the entire God damn Papist fleet. Now, I say our chances are fair," Kon said wide-eyed. "This is not where we die! This is where they die!"
Oh-Suck-Ah
Tor-Argo's way of handling the near-assassination attempt was to have Yoshi, his son, and all male heirs associated with him executed. His son happened to be a newborn. Mara-El was present as the husband and wife discussed the situation. "Here you go," Fu-Ji said as she handed her son off to her husband to have him killed.
Yoshi then walked out with his son and was escorted away. Mara gave Fu-Ji an odd look. "You're handling the death of your family well," Mara noticed.
"I intend to kill myself as well," Fu-Ji said as she took out a knife.
"You have orders to live," Mara reminded her.
"Oh, yes, thank you for reminding me," Fu-Ji said and then put her blade away.
Mara then watched as Tor-Argo's men took Yoshi and the baby away. They crucified Yoshi upside down, sliced into his forehead so he slowly bled out, and then cut off his head. They then placed his head on a spike as a warning to others. The rest of the body was burned to ash and placed in a box. The baby was presumably killed humanely before its body was also burned to ash and put in a box. All this was done to keep the peace.
Mara did nothing to stop this and felt a little guilty afterward.
On the coast, Kash-Mi finally released Kon from the jail. Kon spoke English to them which they had no understanding of. "You're a Christian. Translate for me," Kash ordered a random fisherman.
"Be...good," the fisherman said to Kon.
Kon merely laughed amused at that. "Tell this asshole to free my men."
"Not possible," Kash said through the translator.
"Not possible? Why the fuck not?" Kon asked outraged.
"Be good," Kash warned.
"I piss on you, your men, your lord, your country, and your planet," Kon said seriously.
Kash and his men gave Kon a good beating and pissed on him in response. "You're a foul-mouthed savage neither human nor Kryptonian. You're something else."
Kon was marched into a village in the rain. As he went through, the villagers were curious about him. "Is he human? A Kryptonian? A Christian?" some of them asked the translator.
"Enough," Kash-Mi said annoyed. He ignited his red lightsaber and sliced a man's head off to keep the crowd away.
"Holy shit, dude," Kon said stunned.
Kon was eventually brought before Kash-Ya, the older. A human priest arrived to act as a translator. "Priest, you will translate for me and this savage whatever he is," Kash-Ya, ordered. "What's your deal, asshole?" he asked Kon.
"Who the fuck are you?" Kon asked the priest.
"Servant of God," he said vaguely.
"Make it clear to him that I think you're a papist prick," Kon told him.
"What's he arguing with you about?" Kash demanded of the priest.
"He's evil, you should kill his ass. A damn space pirate," the priest said.
"I'm Prince Kon-El and I'm Insane," Kon introduced himself in English.
"He lies. You're a pirate come to wage war against peaceful New Krypton. You're a very bad boy. You murder Kryptonians and humans alike," the priest accused in Kryptonian.
"This is bullshit. Not everyone in the empire is your type of Christian. You're just going to talk shit about me and not translate, right?" Kon shot back.
"I'm confiscating his ship," Kash ruled.
"Your heretic ship now belongs to him, you piece of shit," the priest said to Kon. "You will soon be executed as with your men."
Kon smirked at the priest and then headbutted him to the ground knocking him out. "I won't be spoken for by the likes of him," he said.
Kash seemed to understand the animosity between Kon and the priest. "Bring him to my house and wash his ass," he ordered. "I don't have time for this Christian shit."
Kon was brought to Kash's grand compound. He was given a bath, food, and some nice clothes, and made to listen as one of his men was slowly boiled alive over several hours. The next morning, Kon was brought to Kash on the coast.
"You think the screaming of one of my men all night bothers me? It's music to my ears," Kon told him off.
"You're being taken to Oh-Suck-Ah," Kash told him through a translator.
"I go nowhere until I get my ship back...and then I'm taking off with or without my men," Kon said.
Kon gave little resistance as he was escorted onto a ferry and sent off to Oh-Suck-Ah.
Oh-Suck-Ah
That evening, Mara met with Tor-Argo in his quarters. "Good evening, Princess Mara-El. How long has it been since you entered my service?"
"Sixteen days," Mara replied.
"And so rarely have we spoken. Such a waste today. Since Ish-Do has taken over the Council, death is everywhere I look," Tor-Argo sighed.
"If the Council votes for your impeachment, it will be inconvenient for us all," Mara noted.
"I am told you speak English," Tor-Argo recalled.
"As my third language," Mara said coyly.
"I'm bringing a prisoner from the coast here. A savage from an Imperial ship. I want you to translate," Tor-Argo requested.
"How bothersome. Surely, someone else can do it," Mara resisted.
"Your mother, Kara Zor-El, is spineless and unprincipled and I despise her. And I know she haunts you. She has robbed you of purpose. What if I could give you purpose?" Tor-Argo asked.
"I would be grateful," Mara said sincerely. Immediately, her impressionist personality made her feel drawn to Tor-Argo as an older mentor just as Lemnos used to be.
"The savage is an enemy of your faith. Would your loyalty to your God conflict with service to me?" Tor-Argo asked seriously.
"Christianity is merely a culture I have adopted. My heart is to you alone," Mara replied.
"I think fate has brought us together. When you first arrived, you were merely a foreign exchange student. Now, you join my war effort to turn the tide, you and this savage," Tor-Ago said thoughtfully.
The next morning, Kon was brought before Tor-Argo's court. Tor-Argo, Mara, and his guards were present in the room. Mara gave a slightly surprised look that the savage in question was her own brother. "You are in the court of Councilor Tor-Argo. I am his translator," Mara said to him in English.
"I would hope you would give me the courtesy of telling him we're not friends...but enemies," Kon said darkly.
"He says we're enemies," Mara said to Tor-Argo.
"Why?" Tor-Argo asked, not understanding the two were siblings and had a bad fight recently.
"We are at war," Kon replied.
"Where are you from?" Tor-Argo asked.
"I'm Prince Kon-El of the Insane," Kon replied.
"Why are you at war with Mara's empire?" Tor-Argo asked curiously.
"Because the Insane will not be intimidated by the Papist Galactic Federation," Kon said wide-eyed.
"You are not papist?" Tor-Argo asked confused.
"There are two Christian religions. The Papists hold that the Pope and his magisterium are supreme in the interpretation of Holy Scripture and all of his orders and decrees are to be followed regardless of personal conscience. We, the Insane, believe that true Christians hold Holy Scripture to be the sole authority on faith and morals and that no one, not even the Pope, can order us to believe that which violates our conscience formed by our own relationship with God," Kon explained.
"But both believe Jesus is God?" Tor-Argo questioned.
"Sure," Kon allowed.
"Why are you a pirate? To wage war against your papist enemies?" Tor-Argo asked.
"I'm not a pirate, merely a man who got lost on his way to college," Kon replied.
"Why does your ship have twenty laser cannons?" Tor-Argo asked skeptically.
"We're big on self-defense and making sure no one dares to stop us," Kon replied.
"What if I dare to stop you?" Tor-Argo challenged.
"Bring it," Kon said seriously.
"I can bring it...rather easily. Then what?" Tor-Argo asked him.
"Then, I would pray to God for your soul for you will surely die," Kon smirked.
The meeting was interrupted as Ish-Do entered the room. "I'm told you invited the savage into your compound," he said to Tor-Argo.
"Right here, asshole," Kon said, pointing to himself.
"How ugly, like a bitch. We should exhibit him across the islands," Ish-Do remarked.
"Fuck yourself," Kon told him off.
Ish-Do ignored Kon's gibberish English. "I find it queer with your imminent impeachment looming, you've taken an interest in this boy. Surely, your last days could be better spent."
"You implying I'm a boy-lover...so early in the morning?" Tor-Argo asked him.
"The Christians call him a heretic. Isn't that so?" Ish-Do asked.
"Yes, Councilor," Mara confirmed.
"The heretic is of no value to me except his outrageously high power level, military tactical skill, weaponry, and ship," Tor-Argo assured him. "I'll be sending him to prison soon."
"I only wish to keep the peace," Ish-Do lied and then left.
Kon was then led to a prison cell where he complained the entire time.
That evening, Mara had dinner with Tor-Argo. "Your translation skills have never deceived me. What do you think of the savage?" Tor-Argo asked her.
"My instinct is to guard against him," Mara said sincerely.
"Did he offend your faith?" Tor-Argo asked curiously.
"He has the faith of my mother," Mara said, giving nothing away. "The idea that an individual can interpret ancient complex writings of various translations by himself is absurd. And conscience can be easily misled especially if one is already sinful, naive, ignorant, and easily swayed."
"However, if your pope is wrong all of you are fucked," Tor-Argo mused.
"You're cleverer than I am. I admit that. But what does any of this have to do with your impeachment?" Mara asked impatiently.
"I will send for Katar to come to Oh-Suck-Ah," Tor-Argo said.
"She is your only leverage. Once she arrives, you will be killed," Mara predicted.
"Yes, but my spies tell me the savage bothers the Christian humans and the Christian councilors. It won't be long before they protest his presence in the city," Tor-Argo said.
"So?" Mara asked confused.
"Ish-Do is not Christian and won't like being pushed around by the Christian councilors. There will be division among the council on this matter, division I'll use to my advantage," Tor-Argo replied.
The next day, as expected, the two Christian councilors demanded that Kon be executed for being an obvious heretic. He was led out into the forest where he would be executed discreetly. They placed a bag over his head and refused to answer his English questions. Not long afterward, Kon was without his hood and binds and Kryptonian bodies were all around him burned and blasted apart.
Kash-Ya then approached Kon with a surprised look. "You missed a few," he said dryly and then had the wounded killed. Kon merely smiled. "You're a smart dog, aren't you?"
"I'm a dog," Kon said in Kryptonian with a shit-eating grin.
"That you are. You just want a good master to tell who to kill and not to kill, right? Come with me, dog," Kash ordered.
Kon was brought back to Tor-Argo's compound. Mara and his guards were with him. "Good morning. I am to be your interpreter for today," Mara said to Kon.
"No doubt you learned from your papist teachers," Kon antagonized.
"I hope your time in prison wasn't too difficult," Tor-Argo said with false sincerity.
"It wasn't too bad...until I dropped the soap," Kon frowned.
"I want to know all about your Insane civilization, culture, and leaders," Tor-Argo requested.
"My father, the Prince of all Insane is very wise, and thoughtful, and would just love to be your ally," Kon lied.
Tor-Argo threw a remote in Kon's direction and activated a hologram of the Milky Way Galaxy. "Point out your home world's location and the empires of the galaxy as you know them," Tor-Argo ordered.
"Well, here is New Krypton, and here is the Insane home world," Kon pointed out. "All of these sectors are the Galactic Federation with Earth here. There are Imperial bases here, here, here, and here." Kon pointed out the Imperial bases surrounding New Krypton and the hyperspace lanes they used. "On this base, Kryptonians have been recruited as fighters utilizing yellow sunlight. Weapons and ships flow through this base."
Mara translated everything Kon said even though it was highly classified material he should not be talking about. She was actually amazed he knew more about the galactic military situation than she did. "A few years ago, the Galactic Federation signed a treaty with the Thanagarians. In this treaty, the Alpha Quadrant went to the Galactic Federation and the Beta Quadrant went to the Thanagarians with some minor border disputes. Your planet belongs in the Galactic Federation half."
"Did you really say belongs?" Tor-Argo asked shocked and appalled.
"Yeah, I know, unbelievable arrogance I say," Kon said wide-eyed. "The treaty allows the Galactic Federation to lay claim to any unknown planet they set foot on and replace its leadership with their own."
"This is an oversimplification," Mara interjected.
"The fuck it is," Kon disputed.
"What do you seek in New Krypton?" Tor-Argo asked finally.
"I came here to check up on my long-lost sister who, rumor has it, resides in this city somewhere," Kon said vaguely as he gave Mara a look. "While I search, I offer my services to vanquish your many many foes."
"We are outnumbered. It is hopeless," Tor-Argo tested.
"Unless we win," Kon smirked.
Mara escorted Kon into Tor-Argo's dwelling. "You've been given Tor-Argo's personal quarters. This is a high honor. Please enjoy," Mara said politely.
"Is that his?" Kon asked of Tor-Argo's battle armor which was displayed. The black armor resembled very closely to a thousand years ago with his crest seal on his chest.
"The style goes back over a thousand years ago before Krypton was destroyed," Mara explained.
"You speak Kryptonian and English very well, as if you had learned it your whole life," Kon antagonized.
"Only the last six years," Mara said for the benefit of Tor-Argo's servants walking with them. "I suggest you take a shower."
"Yeah, I already bathed a couple of days ago in the forest. I'm good," Kon refused.
"One bath a week isn't going to cut it here," Mara lectured.
"Whatever," Kon said dismissively. "Look, I know you hold these priests in high regard, but their superior is a fucking robot. I say we get back to my ship and get the fuck out of here."
"I would advise not speaking like an Insane," Mara told him off. "And you will address me as Lady Mara-El."
Kon rolled his eyes as she left. "The fuck I will." He then noticed his quarters lacked a bed or any furniture, just an empty room. "What the fuck?"
That night, a papist Kryptonian assassin started killing fools in Tor-Argo's compound with a lightsaber short blade. Kon awoke to the shouting and screaming and immediately scanned the area with X-ray vision. Wanting to get some action, Kon went after the assassin. The assassin entered Kon's room and was surprised by a red lightsaber strike to the neck. The assassin still tried to stab at Tor-Argo as Kon entered the room.
Kon held the assassin back and got himself stabbed in the arm. Kon backhanded the assassin through the wall and into the garden where she bled out. Tor-Argo then noticed Kon's deep wound slowly healing itself back to normal. Mara then arrived on the scene.
"Are you alright?" she asked him, ignoring her brother's wound.
"The assassin was not meant for me but for him," Tor-Argo considered.
The next morning, Tor-Argo sent his crew away from Oh-Suck-Ah while the vote on his impeachment was still being considered. Tor-Argo's family members and security entered several vehicles and were about to roll out when Ish-Do arrived to be an obstructionist asshole. He approached Kash-Ya who was leading the convoy. "I was just informed the savage is leaving Oh-Suck-Ah. A surprise I must say," he said irritably.
"I was under the distinct impression we were free to go," Nag-Do interjected. He was the young teenage son of Tor-Argo.
"True, but there's a protocol that was agreed upon between me and your father during his visit. Before any high people left, I was to be given a day's notice, so I can pay respects," Ish-Do said.
"With all due respect, that sounds like bullshit," Nag-Do rejected.
"Proceed with the inspection," Ish-Do ordered.
"No inspections. That was agreed in the protocol," Nag-Do objected.
A fight was to break out as several lightsabers were ignited, red and blue. Hir-Su, Tor-Argo's father-in-law, an older general intervened to stop an imminent fight. "Ish-Do honors us with his visit. Let him through," he allowed.
Ish-Do's men inspected the vehicles and found nothing out of the ordinary. Tor-Argo was not present in the convoy. After the inspection, the convoy rolled out only to be stopped at the final gate for another inspection. Again, nothing was found out of the ordinary. Ish-Do's own security forces then escorted Tor-Argo's convoy on their way to the coast.
That night, the convoy went through a narrow road through the forest. As it got dark, it was ambushed by Kiy-Sad's forces. Black-star alloy projectiles blasted and penetrated several vehicles. Men from Ish-Do and Tor-Argo were killed on the spot. Kon took Mara and brought her to cover as red-hot rounds were fired all around them. Ish-Do's men then saw an opportunity to change sides in the chaos. Tor-Argo's party was now exposed externally and internally within the convoy. Kon watched as both sides fired on each other. The black-star alloy rounds were even lethal for him.
Ish-Do and Tor-Argo's men fought each other with glowing lightsabers. Kon and Mara witnessed some horrific kills as men were sliced to pieces. With so many witnesses, Kon decided not to make a move other than to keep Mara safe. With the vehicles destroyed, the Tor-Argo party moved toward a seaport on foot.
At this point, it was now obvious Tor-Argo was no longer in Oh-Suck-Ah. Ish-Do ordered a manhunt for him believing he was in the convoy. The Tor-Argo clan boarded boats and made their way to a ferry. A few warriors ended up stranded on the dock to buy time for everyone to get on the boats. Kon watched with some envy as one such warrior went on a killing spree against Ish-Do's men.
However, upon arriving on the ferry, the harbor was not safe. Kiy-Sad's patrol boats blocked the ferry from escaping. "If the men on those patrol boats fire on us, we're sunk, right?" Kon asked Mara.
"Yes," she said simply.
"We're being watched," Kon said as if asking for her permission.
"Seek an audience with that trade ship first before you do anything...Insane," Mara suggested.
Kon got Kash-Ya to agree to bring the ferry over to a very large cargo ship. From the coast, Ish-Do watched suspiciously as Kon and Mara boarded the cargo ship. Inside, Kon and Mara met with the captain, a human officer, and a Brainiac 5 priest.
"Those men in fishing boats are Kiy-Sad's men blocking our way. I request that you escort us through the harbor," Mara said.
"Only if you give me more money," the captain insisted.
"In that spirit, how about I burn your ship with you on it?" Kon asked.
"Fuck me," the captain realized.
"Let us not resort to threats but good faith agreements," Brainiac 5 said.
"How about a Christian church in Eod? I'll have Tor-Argo agree to it in exchange for you persuading the two Christian councilors to take his side against Ish-Do," Mara negotiated.
"That is bribery...and completely possible," Brainiac 5 allowed. "I cannot compel their cooperation through faith, but I could suggest the idea, prayerfully, of course."
"Fine," Mara agreed. "Now, please rid us of these patrol boats."
"There's just one other thing," Brainiac 5 said stopping them from leaving. "Kon is to remain in Oh-Suck-Ah. He's not authorized to be here. I will make arrangements for him to leave the planet."
"Tor-Argo considers Kon to be critical to his cause," Mara objected.
"And that is why he must stay. He's an unstable element in a very fragile society. It's best if the politics of this world is left to me," Brainiac 5 said. "My order has the force of your parents."
Tor-Argo's clan boarded the cargo ship leaving Kon behind on the ferry to fend for himself. "This is some bullshit," Kon muttered as he was now left alone on the ship. Kon took control of the ferry and piloted it alongside the cargo ship to make them both one target. The patrol boats couldn't fire on Kon without the risk of firing on the cargo ship as well.
On the cargo ship, Brainiac 5 and Mara watched Kon's efforts. "He cannot be contained that easily," Mara said to Brainiac 5.
"We cannot be seen assisting him either," Brainiac 5 said dryly.
Brainiac 5 took control of the ship and forced Kon's ferry toward the rocks. "You'll damage the hull," the captain protested.
"There are greater interests in play than your trade, captain," Brainiac 5 replied.
Kon tilted his head more and more as he realized he was being squeezed between the cargo ship and rocks. He accelerated his speed to get ahead of the cargo ship and escape. Kon's ferry hit the rocks, was sliced open, and exploded as it was violently crushed and shredded. The cargo ship scraped by with minimal damage and continued on its way.
On the coast, Ish-Do saw the ferry destroyed and no sign of life.
The next morning, Ish-Do was pissed at the Council meeting. "I was charged with the security of this city and you...motherfuckers disturbed the peace," Ish-Do said accusingly of Kiy-Sad and Har-Bu. "I am hurt and offended, very hurt and very offended."
"I share your outrage. Too many bandits in the city," Kiy denied.
"Fuck yourself. We agreed on a lawful execution of the heretic," Ish-Do said displeased.
"Tor-Argo stole him from my custody and you didn't do shit," Kiy pointed out.
"Maybe if we had voted to get rid of Tor-Argo first, I could have handed the heretic over to you, personally, you dumbfuck," Ish-Do said obviously. "I just got an email that Tor-Argo has resigned from the council for personal reasons. Now, we're four. We can't vote on shit without five as this is the law."
Author's List: Kryptonian culture is a little difficult to determine because there doesn't appear to be one. In Superman 1978, DCEU, Krypton (TV), and CW SG, they just act like humans with powers or humans without powers. Even the more extreme Kryptonians act the way they do not necessarily due to culture or alien personality but because they were raised in a warrior class. I have been critical in the past of CW Kara acting like a human with powers as opposed to someone with an alien culture and psychology. I think what makes Superman unique among Kryptonians is his human upbringing so Kryptonians should act alien in some way. The best I could really come up with is Medieval Japanese culture but with high-tech.
