Author's Note: This is going to be a rewrite of my Star Wars: The Clone Wars fanfic called Threads of Destiny. It will start with Nadia's childhood as well as how she ended in the Jedi Temple in Coruscant and meet Ahsoka. This story will also include all the Clone Wars Seasons and Revenge of the Sith.
I don't own Star Wars or its characters, but I only own Nadia Aomori, her family and my other OCs.
Enjoy!
I was only ten years old, when I first came into the Jedi Temple in Coruscant
I was Force-sensitive and my parents were convinced to let me go to there
When that happened…I never saw them or my older brother again
And yes, I remember it well
Let's just say I was different from everyone else
I was Obi-Wan's Padawan during the Clone Wars before the nightmare of reality happened
Also, I was the first real friend to Ahsoka Tano and Ferus Olin's love interest
My name is Nadia Aomori
And this is my story...
Threads of Destiny
Childhood (I)
"Come on, Jayden!"A voice begged. "I want to do it!"
The voice belonged to a stubborn yet adorable six year old pale-skinned girl with black shiny shoulder-length hair that was tied in two pigtails by two blue ribbons and dark ruby red eyes. She wore a pale blue dress over a white dress shirt, white pantyhose and black Mary Jane shoes.
Her name was Nadia Horn.
The boy named Jayden, the person she was talking to, was her older brother.
Jayden Horn was a fair skinned handsome fourteen year old boy with mahogany brown hair and deep greyish coloured eyes. He wore a black shirt with a green ribbon tie, light-grey shorts and brown knee-high boots.
They were in the middle of playing their favourite game that was quite dangerous.
"Are you sure you don't want me to push the wagon, Nadia?"Jayden asked.
"Yes, big brother."Nadia answered with a firm tone. "I want to do it this time."
Jayden let out a sigh and smiled.
"Alright."Jayden responded. "You push the wagon and I follow you."
"Yipeee!"Nadia cheered in delight.
Jayden followed Nadia as she pulled their big red hay wagon up to the top of their park-like garden.
He sat down inside the wagon as Nadia began to count to push the wagon.
"One, two…three!"Nadia counted.
Nadia pushed the wagon and joined her older brother inside it as then careen wildly down to the bottom again.
Jayden and Nadia shouted excitedly as their wagon headed down their garden and stopped nearby a couple of trees.
They often incurred injuries as the only way of controlling the wagon was by using a pole as a makeshift rudder.
But, unlike the other children, both Jayden and Nadia were Force-sensitives which meant they could use the Force to help them in times of danger.
That was due to their parents being Jedi.
Usually in Corellia, Corellian Jedi permitted marriage among their ranks which resulted in the formation of long legacies and bloodlines.
Nadia and Jayden were raised to be become Jedi.
However, their bloodlines was another story.
Nadia smiled brightly and clapped her hands as Jayden got off the wagon after her.
"That was fun!"Nadia remarked. "Let's do that again!"
Nadia suspect Jayden was significantly less enthusiastic about their joyrides that she was, but as usual he was humouring his little sister.
"Are you sure?"Jayden questioned smugly.
Nadia grinned at her brother.
"Yes!"Nadia sneered.
Then a woman's voice rang out from inside their house.
"Nadia! Jayden!"A woman's voice called out. "Time to come inside!"
"Yes, mother."Jayden replied.
"We're coming, mummy!"Nadia assured.
Jayden and Nadia held hands together as they walked back inside their villa.
Like their parents, Jayden and Nadia adored each other.
They made a unique pair; Jayden, clever and sensitive, and Nadia, practical and daring.
Their interests and ambitions were poles apart, but they had a similar thrust for adventure and found ways to make learning fun.
Jayden found excitement in books while Nadia craved the thrill of new experiences.
They challenged their parents in different ways, but admired and appreciated them just the same.
The villa of the Horn family was in a peach colour as well as presented in all its beauty and grandeur. The double staircase access to its large panoramic terrace was very scenic and leads to the master residence very bright and well maintained. On the ground floor the large living room with a fireplace, a large living room overlooking the garden, the kitchen, and the dining room. Through a convenient staircase lead to the first floor created for the sleeping area. With independent access from the terrace the other residential portion was easily rejoined to the master part in order to recreate a single residence. Three bedrooms and large spaces intended for the living area in addition to the kitchen and study characterise this wing of the mansion.
Nadia and Jayden came inside their villa, just in time to see their mother in the living room.
Freya Horn was a beautiful woman in her early 30s with mahogany brown hair that was tied in a tight bun which had two long spiralled strands in the front, reaching her midriff, with her bangs parted to the left and had the same ruby red eyes like her daughter. She wore a red and black gown. The top part consisted of two black velvet triangles over her shoulders, surrounded by a gold border. She wore long red capped sleeves with a black border and black ruffles at the end of the sleeves. The middle was a fitted bodice with red sides featuring gold borders and embellishment and a black middle section which is part of the neckline. The bottom of the dress was a red skirt with black ruffle borders opened in the front to reveal a dark red petticoat. She also wore a red jewel necklace, light pink lipstick and black highheels.
"Hey, mum/mummy!"Jayden and Nadia said in unison.
Jayden and Nadia rushed to give their mother a hug.
Nadia presented her mother a small yet pretty bouquet that had red-and-yellow flowers on it.
"Look, mummy."Nadia giggled."These jebwa flowers are for you."
Freya took the small bouquet from her daughter's hands and smiled at her.
"Thank you, sweetheart."Freya thanked with a grateful smile."They're lovely."
Freya bent down and gives Nadia a kiss on the forehead, making her lightly giggle.
Freya Aomori Horn was a loving mother to Jayden and Nadia. She was a beautiful woman with a gentle face, glowing with happiness.
But her life was not as simple and lovely as it seemed.
She had a deep, dark secret.
Though it caused her great pain, she did not let it interfere with her life with her husband and two children.
Jayden and Nadia followed Freya to the dining room to sit down as two maids brought up their meals on the table.
It was Endwa meant with orange gravy served with cooked Charbote roots and potato sticks.
Nadia wasted no time to begin stuffing her face while Jayden spoke with his mother.
"Mother."Jayden spoke up. "Guess what?"
"Hmm?"Freya said.
"Father said I'm ready to attend the Jedi Temple in Coronet City."Jayden explained. "He spoke to the Jedi Council and he told me that it won't be long until I take my first steps as a Padawan in the temple."
Nadia's eyes widen and nearly choked on her stewfruit smoothie at hearing her older brother moving to Coronet City.
"Well done, Jayden."Freya declared proudly."I'm so proud of you."
"Yeah."Nadia agreed with a sad smile."Congratulations, Jayden…I guess."
Freya and Jayden notice the sadness in Nadia's voice.
"Nadia, sweetie, what's wrong?"Freya asked.
"It's just that…if Jayden goes to start his training as a Jedi, who am I going to play with?"Nadia asked.
"You'll stay play with me, Nadia."Jayden assured. "I'm not scheduled to leave home straight away. Maybe, it will be in a couple of weeks or something like that."
A realisation suddenly hit Nadia's head.
"Big brother! Wait a minute!"Nadia protested."If you move to the Jedi Temple in Coronet City, does that mean I won't see you again?"
Jayden gives Nadia a smile.
"Of course you'll see me again, Nadia."Jayden assured."You can stop by to visit anytime you want and I'll make sure you to write to you about my experiences there."
"Pinky promise?"Nadia asked.
Jayden smiled. "Pinky promise."
Nadia and Jayden held out their pinkies as a promise to always make sure to write down at each other if one of them was to go away.
The two siblings then laughed lightly together as Freya watched them with a warm smile on her face.
Sometime after lunch, Jayden and Nadia went to do their own activities.
Nadia played with her little toy soldiers while Jayden was on his bed, reading a novel called 'Squib Jedi'.
The six year old girl used her mouth to do shooting noises due to imagine that her little toy soldiers fighting against each other before using her free hand to lightly smack away the enemy soldiers.
"Hooray!"Nadia cheered in pure delight. "And the Horn Clan wins again!"
Jayden lightly chuckled as he watched his younger sister punch the air in joy before focusing back on reading the pages on his novel.
Nadia then sat down on her knees to continue playing with her toy soldiers and put them back in their standing positions.
She then closed her ruby red eyes to try and use the Force to lift up one of the soldiers.
The soldier lightly wobbled before raising up from the ground a bit.
Nadia opened her right eye and gasped excitedly seeing she lifted up the soldier a bit before going back in its place.
"Jayden! I did it!"Nadia cheered. "I've lifted up the soldier!"
Nadia notice Jayden was busy his book, making her sweat drop at the sight.
The young girl often tried to get her older brother's attention when he was reading, but his face was buried in his book.
His hands gripped the pages and she suspected that he haven't heard a single word she said.
Nadia went out of Jayden's bedroom to get her pillow from her own bedroom.
She then used her pillow to whack her brother on the face to get his attention on her.
"Whoa! Nadia!"Jayden groaned lightly and rubbed his nose. "What is it?"
"I used the Force to try and lift up one of the soldiers and it worked."Nadia declared.
"Oh. That's nice."Jayden said simply.
Nadia frowned as she sat on the bed and looked at the novel that her brother was very busy reading.
"Big brother?"Nadia spoke up.
Jayden brought his attention on his little sister.
"Yes, Nadia?"Jayden questioned.
"Are you scared anything?"Nadia asked.
"Well, I'm actually scared of losing the people I care about."Jayden exclaimed. "Mostly, mum, dad and you."
"Me too."Nadia agreed. "But I never want things to change. I want us to always be together."
"Nadia...no matter how frightening things may be, I know that you can pull through."Jayden assured. "I believe in you. Don't forget that."
Nadia smiled. "Thank you, Jayden."
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and the two siblings saw their father come into the room.
Rostek Horn was a handsome man in his early 30s with silky raven black hair and deep grey eyes like his son. He wore a grey and green Jedi robes with dark brown boots.
"Daddy!"Nadia remarked.
Nadia rushed over to Rostek and he picked up in her arms.
"Hey, my little dragon."Rostek chuckled. "Did you have a lovely day today?"
"Yes, daddy. I've got to play all day with Jayden."Nadia answered brightly. "Though you missed out dinner. We had Corellian Air Cake for dessert."
"I'm sorry, sweetheart."Rostek apologised. "I've had a busy schedule today. How about this? On the weekend, the three of us will go hiking in the Malal Mountains with your mother. I'm sure the Council will allow to give me free time to be with all of you."
"Yay!"Nadia cheered excitedly.
"Do we have to go hiking, father?"Jayden asked with an unsure look.
"Of course, Jayden."Rostek assured. "Think of the trip as a moment to learn experiences since you are going to be a padawan soon joining the Jedi Temple."
"Come on, big brother!"Nadia encouraged. "It will be a lot of fun! Pretty please?"
Jayden thought for a moment before smiling slightly at his relatives.
"Alright."Jayden responded. "I'll come."
Since Jayden found excitement in books, he didn't found much enjoyment in climbing on mountains or hunting like his father and younger sister did.
Jayden was more of his mother's son and Nadia was her father's daughter.
But overall, he never want to miss out to have time to be with his family.
The Next Morning…
Sometime after breakfast, Nadia went out like the other neighbouring children in the city to play.
Bela Vistal was a large mountain city nestled in the southeast mountains of Corellia.
It was a large town located two hundred kilometres from Coronet City. The city was an important trading outpost. Nestled in a serene mountain valley, it was considered by many to be an ideal tourist destination for those on a modest budget. Its isolation and tall mountains made it a favourite among hikers and climbers, as well as adventurers, who yearned for a beautiful view and fresh air.
One of the most well-known attractions in Bela Vistal was the Crystal Fountain, a geyser which was transported from the Agrilat Swamp to the center of the town.
The city was inhabited by mainly Humans, Selonians, and Drall, with one of the city's neighbourhoods primarily made up of Selonian residents.
A group of boys in fine clothing laughed as they were running around on a pile of scrapped metal, where a small flag sits on top of a broken drawer.
The one leading them was a boy called Hal.
Hal Corak was a nine year old boy with dark blonde hair and turquoise green eyes. He wore a white-collared shirt with brown trousers and grey shoes.
A triumph smile grew on Hal's face when he arrived at the top.
"I got it!"Hal declared as he grabbed the flag and held it high. "All hail the King of the Backstreets!"
The other boys cheered at Hal.
"You're awesome, Hal!"
"Yeah! His the champion of capturing the Flag!"
"Heh!"Hal sneered. "There really isn't anyone who can beat me, huh?"
But then, out of the broken dresser drawer behind him came a hand that grabbed the flag out of Hal's own.
"Huh?!"Hal questioned in surprise, looking around. "H-hey! Where'd the flag go?!"
A familiar raven black-haired girl laughed as she came out of the drawer, revealing herself to be Nadia.
"Ha!"Nadia chuckled as she held proudly the flag up high. "You should never let your guard down, even in a game, Hal! Know why? Because I can dig more tunnels in this mountain of scrapped metal than you could begin to count! I call it 'The Tunnel Death Blow'!"
"What?!"Hal said in disbelief.
Soon, all the kids started clamouring.
"Wow! Nadia's so cool!"
"No, she's not! She's a big cheater!"
"Well, didn't Hal say there were no rules?"
"Oh, yeah. I forgot."
Hal glared at Nadia.
"You're really snotty, Nadia!"Hal retorted.
"Oh, yeah?!"Nadia said angrily. "If you call someone snotty, that makes you the snotty one!"
"What was that?!"Hal scowled.
Soon after, Hal and Nadia started tussling around on the ground…and yet, they started laughing in spite of their little spat.
"Me and my friend, Hal were always ending into fights. But despite that, we strangely got along so well. Though I never expected that one day our lives would end up to become linked…after everything just suddenly shattered."
