Sakura looked from Sasuke to Naruto to Shikamaru and back, then again and again until she focused on the ravenette. She couldn't believe that he had abducted her. He literally threw her over his shoulders, put her in a black Mercedes Maybach with him and the other guys and had driven off.
He averted her glare as he sat on a couch, watching as Jugo poured him a glass of Château Lafite. "Don't stare at me like that. You were being stubborn."
"You literally kidnapped me." She pointed out.
"I don't see why that should be concerning." He replied, taking the glass of wine in his hand and staring into its unique quality.
She frowned at his arrogance. "Proudass." She snickered.
He raised a brow and looked at her. "Your life is in danger, and I'm trying to halt your extinction. You should be grateful."
She scoffed. "Ha...halt my extinction?" Whatever fear she felt for him now was gone. "Wow, where have you been all my life? Pretty sure if you were there, I would be swimming in grace."
He nodded, missing the sarcasm. "Of course, you understand now."
Her jaw dropped and she eyed him. She raised her chin and stood up. "I'm going for lectures."
"Let Jugo show you to your room." He replied softly, paying attention to the wine in his hand.
Jugo came to her and bowed. "Please, follow me Luna."
Just this once. I'll play along and let it slide. She gave the lycan a thin smile and followed him as he led the way up the marvelously gold-laden structured staircase.
Naruto glanced at Shikamaru as he gave him an elbow nudge. They make a great pair.
Shikamaru huffed a sigh through his mouth and closed his eyes. Then a small smirk appeared on his face. I couldn't agree more. His Alpha's mate had the charge in her that made a great Luna. The pack didn't welcome weakness so it was important she had the quality.
As soon as the Beta and Gamma took their spots on the couch, Naruto began with a grin. "She suits you."
Sasuke sighed and closed his eyes. She's stubborn and reckless. "Lilith is specifically after her life."
"Lilith?" Shikamaru raised his eye brows. "What does Lilith want with a human?"
"She must be an offspring of Lucifer or a hellish creature." Naruto remarked.
"She doesn't have the scent of one." Shikamaru glanced at him
"There are some beings who can coat their scents, like Shikai and Karin."
"Speaking of that pale nuisance", Sasuke started as he opened his eyes. "there's something off about him."
"Apart from us not knowing anything about him? Yeah." Naruto said.
"Any news regarding Raikanrando?"
"Yes, Alpha. An incubus attacked the west and central villages, killing a lot of warewolves, but it had been in sequence. They'd attacked the western part before the central."
Sasuke frowned. The demons have made their move in the west. "How's my brother?"
"Itachi sama is well, but two of his generals got killed while fighting Lucifer in the central part."
"Lucifer?"
That mad man never bothered to do things on his own. He didn't two years ago, so why now? His beast commented.
He believes he doesn't have time. Sasuke replied subtly. "Who are the generals?"
"Kakuzu san and Nagato san."
Sasuke sighed. The demons were progressing, a lot, and here he was. "We're running out of time."
He noticed the other scent in the room and turned to see Jugo walking down the stairs. "How is she?"
"The Luna is well, Sasuke sama." The orange haired lycan tilted his head to one side, contemplating on wether to tell the Alpha or not, but then he gave up. "Though she's been speaking to herself. She says something like 'when I get his head I'm going to freaking roll it in a pan and cook it up, then eat it and purge it and bury it and take it up again and re-do the process'."
Sasuke huffed out and Naruto lips twisted as he tried not to laugh. It earned a glare from Sasuke and he shut up, looking away and catching Shikamaru biting his lips in.
You also want to laugh?
Don't.
Sasuke stood up. "When is Kakashi coming?" He asked as he walked towards the stairs.
"Oh." Naruto looked at his wristwatch. "Soon." They'd decided to try to confide in their former sensei. If everything goes well, they will be one step towards attainment.
After Jugo had showed her the room she'd be staying from now on, she was left with her jaw dropped and wide eyes. Her room was just like his, except the walls were in a brighter color. The closets were lined up too but a little too much. She had her own royal carpet, desk, lamp, chandelier and there was a couch at the center of the room. There was also a beautifully designed vanity at one corner of the room. Its mirror was heavily pampered with gems and diamonds.
She placed her bag on the couch and sat at the vanity, putting a hand over her mouth as she questioned her sanity.
What are all these? Are all the rooms like this or did he prepare it just for me? The delusional part of her mind opted that it was the latter. This is freaking royalty.
Well, I guess that since now you're an Alpha mate, a royal one at that, you might as well believe you'd be treated as one.
It was like the fictional books she's read. Then she remembered her friends. She plucked her phone out of her jeans pocket and hung an index finger in the air, indecisively.
Should I tell them that they have no room to stay while I'm here, gauzed in luxury? She dropped her hand, letting the phone rest on her lap. If she even wanted to tell them anything, she'd have to start from the beginning. There's noway her friends should be treated like that, unless... She glanced at the doorway but quickly looked away, shaking that thought away from her head. No, he wouldn't agree. She shouldn't even think of it. She'll probably be putting them in harm's way anyways.
"Do you still want to run?"
A voice came from the doorway, deep and accusing.
She spared him a glance, noticing how his tall figure leaned on the door panel with his hands dipped in his pockets. She scoffed. "What's the point? You'll just end up chasing me." She's decided to accept her fate.
He leaned away from the door and walked towards her. Crouching to her level when he got near her, he took her hand in his and observed the red mark on her wrist, only for her to snap it away.
"It's not a big deal." She told him.
He sighed. "You should be careful with the way you treat yourself." He stared into her green eyes unyieldingly. "I can't bear to lose you."
When she heard that, her face went red and her cheeks felt hot. Her heart started thumping. Something told her to look away from his dark eyes but she couldn't. What...what did he say?
Then he stood up, breaking the eye contact. "I'll suffer from going feral because of the mate bond and that alone is time consuming. Save me the stress, will you?"
She blinked, letting what had happened to settle on her before a frown formed on her face. She bit in her lower lip and glared at him as he walked away. Why that little...
As soon as Sasuke walked down the last step on the staircase, he met Kakashi discussing with his Beta and Gamma which they paused from to look at him.
"Kakashi." He nodded in greeting, noticing the annoying green book that laid beside his hip on the couch.
"Sasuke, what is this I hear of your planning to kidnap the vampire heir?"
"It is as you've heard." Sasuke replied as he took a seat beside him.
"And you chose to tell me? You do know that I can be a liability to your plan because of my position."
"We're playing our cards on you because we trust you or something. I'm aware of your suspicion of Danzo?" Sasuke's eyes roved to meet his former sensei's.
There was a brief silence. "He's not the only one."
"We know."
"That's why we need you, Kaka sensei." Naruto said. "With your prowess, this can go flawless."
"That rhymed." Kakashi said
Naruto grinned at him. "I know right."
"Jiraiya said to tell you to bring home a mate."
"Ugh." Naruto rolled his eyes. "That old lord knows nothing but being pervy." But he loved and respected that pervy old being. He was the one who took care of him when his parents died in a war between sirens and vampires and lycans. "I've already got a mate. She's perfect, but I'm not bringing her home anytime soon, if that's what he's hoping."
"Heh" Kakashi shook his head as he chuckled. He faced Shikamaru.
"I'd rather not talk."
"He's got Temari as his mate." Naruto said, smirking.
"Really?" Kakashi's eyebrows went up. "That is some pairing up."
Naruto laughed. "You should see Sasuke's own."
"Ahem." Sasuke glared at them both before asking. "Kakashi, care to tell us what you're doing in the human world?"
"Oh, I'm carrying out an order. Apparently, the Supreme Alpha has worries about the war affecting the human world so he sent me to watch it closely. If I notice any suspicious behavior, I know what to do."
Sasuke narrowed his eyes at him skeptically. "You've been here a long time, and the war was announced two years ago."
"Your father knew about the war before it was announced."
"Masashi." Shikamaru said.
Kakashi nodded. "He's the only one she told."
"But isn't you keeping watch over humans a waste of time?" Sasuke asked.
"There's one more thing I need to do before the war begin." A suspenseful silence flowed past them. "I need Death."
Naruto gasped. "You want to die?!"
Kakashi chuckled. "No, not Death as in death, Death as in a globe which holds all the secrets in life."
Naruto scrunched up his face. "Who would name a globe Death?"
"What is this globe and if it holds that much information, what is it doing in the human world?" Sasuke questioned.
"Death is it's name. It was given this name because anyone who was greedy enough to use it ends up lifeless within seconds. Selene labeled it as forbidden and had it locked up but a greedy servant of hers got curious and decided to flee with it, thinking she could sell it off at a reasonable price in the black market. She was found in the woods two hours later, with her mouth chopped off, her optic nerves carved on her forehead and pores pouring out blood from all over her body. The globe was gone. We've searched Isekai for centuries but all to no avail. We're guessing it's here in the human world."
"It's worse than the serpent's basin." Naruto commented.
"And more powerful too. It reveals the past, present and future of a person, and the one who can overcome its bloodlust can acquire its great power. And it's only one in both worlds."
"Wow, this is crazy. How can a little thing be so powerful?"
"Why are you searching for Death when you're aware of the dangers?" Sasuke asked him again.
"If we get the globe, we might need not to sacrifice the girl in the prophecy. All she will be required for is a pint of her blood and the war will be won."
"Are you serious?" Naruto stared at their sensei wide eyed.
"We're also hoping Masashi can contain it since she's part of the Priesthood."
"Kakashi." The professor looked at his former student. "We will join you in looking for this Death, while you'll join us in taking out the heir and finding the girl in the prophecy."
Kakashi nodded, agreeing to the deal. "We'll need her blood anyways."
Suddenly, he was no more on the couch.
The three men noted on the strange wind in the living room and spared each other knowing glances. Before long, they heard their former sensei voice coming from the staircase.
"Huh? Ms Haruno, what are you doing here?"
