From the void, Falchion emerges
"Why I'm I here?" Mereoleone asked as she glanced at the other captains.
As of right now, the captains are holding an emergency meeting, two days after the failed attack from the reincarnated elves with both Fuegoleone and Mereoleone being present.
"Sister, as a former captain of the Crimson Lions and the Royal Knights, you should be informed of which direction the Clover Kingdom will be heading. We're in a dangerous position right." Fuegoleon pointed out, causing Mereoleone to grunt slightly but didn't say anything.
"Miss Sophia, what's wrong with William?" Rill asked, becoming curious as he glanced towards the captain of the Golden Dawn who seemed to have a nervous expression on his face.
"I don't know…." Sophia responded, becoming curious as she glanced towards Yami who's body seemed tense.
It was at that moment that Marx entered the room.
"Thank you for gathering at short noticed, but we have important matters to discuss, as you all will be aware of." Marx said as he walked further into the room.
"Where's Lord Julius?" Nozel asked, since Julius always enters along with Marx.
This cause the Wizard King's assistant to gain a tense expression on his face, Yami became more tense whilst William became more nervous.
"...That's the first matter we need to discuss. You can come in….." Marx said, turning towards the door that he left sightly opened, in a nervous tone of voice, causing the other captains to start thinking that Julius has received a serious injury.
However, a boy of around 13 years old with messy blond hair, purple eyes and wearing white clothes and a red robe entered the room.
"….." The captains just stared at the boy as he walked up to the head of the table.
"Good morning, captains. Like what Marx said, we have a lot to discuss." The boy said with a smile on his face.
However, the captains just remained silent.
"Er….Is no one going to say anything?" The boy asked, starting to become nervous.
"What the hell are you doing here, brat? This is no place for kids." Jack responded in a slight aggressive tone of voice.
"Hey. Don't go and start bullying the boy!" Dorothy, now awake rather than her usual sleep-walking state, said with annoyed tone of voice.
This cause the captain of the Green Mantis Magic Knight squad to make a "tch" sound.
"Sir, you ought to "introduce" yourself." Marx said in a low tone of voice.
"Yes. Maybe I should." The boy responded whilst scratching the back of his head before coughing into his hand.
"I'm not sure if everyone can recognize me, but I'm Julius Novachrono, now in a younger body." The boy introduce himself…..but only met with silence.
"Did you de-aged yourself with time magic?" Mereoleone asked with a raised eye-brow.
"Mereoleone! It's absurd to think that Lord Julius could have accidentally de-aged himself. The boy may have similar features to him, but/She's pretty close actually." Yami said, cutting of Fuegoleon.
"P-pardon?" Fuegoleon asked as he turned towards the captain of the Black Bulls.
"During my usual wanderings, I came across a Magic Item which can store magic and discovered that my magic is compatible with it. So during a period of time, I have been storing time magic within the Magic Item through the star-like emblem on my forehead, storing up to 13 years of it." "Julius" explained, causing the captains to glance each other confusedly.
"How does that explains your….current appearance." Charlotte asked, still sceptic about the claim that "Julius" is making.
This cause a nervous expression to appear on "Julius's" face.
"Before the invasion of the reincarnated elves, I got into a battle with Patry who took the entire Clover Kingdom hostage. I'm sure that everyone is aware about the swords of light that suddenly appeared? Well, that was caused by Patry's light magic, but I used my magic to reverse the flow of time, making the light-made swords disappear. However, that left me in a vulnerable position which lead to me getting killed by Patry who then took the Magic Stones that I was keeping on my person." "Julius" began to explain, causing Nozel, Fuegoleon, Mereoleone and Jack to glance towards William, with the first three having an angry looks in their eyes whilst William stared at the table.
The rest of the captains, apart from Yami, gained shock expressions on their faces.
"Why are Captain Nozel, Captain Fuegoleon, lady Mereoleone and Captain Jack looking at Captain Vangance?" Sophia thought, becoming confused.
"So why do you look like a little boy?" Dorothy asked whilst raising a hand.
"When I was about to die, I activated a spell which caused the stored magic to return back to me. However, there was a high chance that the spell wouldn't work, but luckily it did! Even though it took a while for the process to start and causing me to transform into my 13 year old self." "Julius" explained before gaining a serious expression on his face.
"However, you might have already felt it, but despite my revival, I have very low level of Mana and this is all I have of my Grimoire." "Julius" explained as he took out a single page and showed it to the captains which shows a spell for time magic, strengthening "Julius's" claim that he is in fact the "Wizard King".
"Not only our defenses are low, but we've lost the might of Lord Julius." Charlotte commented whilst gaining a serious expression on her face, starting to realize how bad the current situation is.
"Lord Julius?" Nozel said whilst raising a hand.
"Yes, Captain Nozel?" Julius asked, becoming curious.
"Since you are aware of Licht's real name, then you must be aware that Vangance has been aiding Patry from the very start." Nozel said, causing Sophia, Charlotte, Dorothy, Rill and Kaiser to widen their eyes in shock.
"What are you saying, Sir Nozel?!" Kaiser asked, seeing the claim absurd.
"As you're aware, multiple people, mainly the Magic Knights, had their bodies used as vessels for the reincarnated elves. However, whilst a large majority of these souls have been in a suspended animation, Patry's soul has been reincarnated first in an incomplete state….with Vangence being his vessel." Nozel explained, causing Kaiser's eyes to widen even further.
"Is this true?" Sophia asked as she look towards William.
"…..Yes. Patry woke up within sometime during my childhood and regardless of his hatred towards the humans of the Clover Kingdom, we managed to get along because we have similar histories. I let Patry borrow my body and used it to plan the elves's revenge on the Clover Kingdom because I had doubts about Lord Julius's ideas of protecting the kingdom." William explained in a low tone of voice, not making eye-contact with anyone.
This cause the captain of the Sword Of Logos to feel a sense of dread at the lack of faith that the captain of the Golden Dawn, the one of the strongest Magic Knight squads, had in the Wizard King.
"If you're asking about if I'm planning on punishing William for aiding the enemy, then the answer is no." Julius explained, causing looks of disbelief to appear on the captain's faces, apart from Yami's.
"What?" Mereoleone asked in a slight dangerous tone of voice.
"With the state of the kingdom, it's would be unwise to punish the Magic Knights. The public need to have complete faith in the Magic Knights." Julius explained, causing Nozel to sigh deeply whilst closing his eyes.
"If it helps you, I haven't forgiven William for his actions either." Yami said, causing the captain of the Silver Eagles to snort slightly.
"That's the last thing I want to hear from you, foreigner." Nozel said, but slightly pleased that there's someone who shares his view on the matter.
"Speaking about "punishing", Marxs delivered news to me from the Magic Parliament." Julius said, causing everyone to become tense.
"Really? They decided to butt in now?" Mereoleone asked, raising an eye-brow.
"Unfortunately, yes. For some reason, they seemed keen on punishing those who have been possessed by the elves, regardless of the fact their actions of are not of their own." Julius explained, causing Mereoleone to groan slightly.
"If the Magic Parliament are keen on punishing all those we have been possessed by elves, then would that little girl that her magic was used to freeze everyone be put on trail?" Sophia asked, causing Julius to gain a grim expression on his face.
"Since the Magic Parliament understands the situation that the Clover Kingdom is facing with the Magic Knights having great importance, they seemed to have no qualms about punishing that little girl, whose the little sibling to a member of your Magic Knight squad, Yami, I believe." Julius said as he turned towards the captain of the Black Bulls.
"Yeah, and he will not like this piece of news." Yami responded, already seeing Gauche storming to the Magic Parliament to rescue Marie.
"However, the Magic Parliament have taken the Megid into account and thought of the possibility that they have been puppeteering the Magic Knights, along with altering their personalities, and they have deemed them the main suspects, so the little girl is safe…..for now that is." Julius said, causing Yami to sigh in relief slightly.
It was at that moment that a thought appeared in Rill's head.
"What would you do about making public appearances, Sir Julius?" The captain of the Aqua Deers asked, causing the other captains to blink their eyes as they realized the prospect that the citizens will be worried that the "Wizard King" is not making any public appearances.
"Don't worry about that, Rill. Me and Marx have already came up with an idea on how to deal with that. We have decided to tell the public that I was injured during the elf invasion, and during any public speeches, Owen will take my place but won't speak, "saying" that loosing "my" voice is one of the injuries that I have received." Julius explained with a smile on his face.
"….No offence or anything, but I think it will be pretty obvious that the people will see that Owen isn't you." Mereoleone pointed out in a blunt tone of voice.
"Not if we covered Owen's face with bandages." Julius responded, making everyone sweat-drop.
"Now then, another matter we need to discuss is fin-!" The "Wizard King" began to say but was cut off as a loud explosion is head and everyone felt a slight tremble.
"What?! Are we getting attacked?!" Fuegoleon said as he and the rest of the captains stood up.
"Why now of all times?" Charlotte said with a serious expression on her face.
"Come on. We see who have decided who made the foolish decision of attacking the headquarters of the Magic Knights." Nozel said as he made his way towards the door, being followed by the rest of the captains.
Julius started to follow the others as well, but was stopped by Marx.
"Please don't get spotted." Marx said in a slight pleading tone of voice, making Julius nod his head.
"Halt, intruder!" A servant shouted as he and some others faced a cloaked figure.
"Can you really stop me? Your just mere servants and it was easy to infiltrate the Magic Knight's headquarters?" The cloaked figure responded in a mocking tone of voice, yet feeling annoyed that his presence was known when an unexpected security spell activated, causing him to act.
"Why you…" The servant growled slightly before hearing hurrying footsteps, causing him and the others to turn towards the direction of the footsteps to see the captains heading towards them.
"So the captains have appeared." The cloaked figure commented, his voice having no fear.
"Captains! That's the intruder." The servant said as he and the others backed away to let the captains have some room.
"Thanks!" Dorothy said with a smile on her face.
"You've made a foolish decision of attacking our headquarters when the captains are having a meeting." Fuegoleon said as he and the others got their Grimoires at the ready.
"Hmph. It was supposed to be a simple robbery, but I ran into a problem." The cloaked figure commented, not feeling intimidated by the presence of the captains.
"Kekekekeke. A decision that will cost you your life." Jack said with a mad grin of his face, blades at the ready.
However, the cloaked figure didn't respond, causing the captain of the Green Mantis to gain a tick-mark on his fore-head, before his eyes fell on Sophia.
"Oh? So you're Sophia, the current captain of the Clover Kingdom branch of the Sword Of Logos." The cloaked figure commented, causing Sophia to become tense.
"Yes. What of it?" Sophia asked, becoming cautious.
"Well, let's say I have a history with the Sword Of Logos." The cloaked figure responded before removing the cloak, revealing his messy black hair and a scar just near his right eye.
"Is that bone?" Sophia thought, noticing something white poking through the scar, making her shiver slightly before focusing on his clothes which are mainly black with the center piece being gold.
However, the noticeable piece of clothing is the robes that he's wearing over his shoulders.
Even though it is ripped, Sophia recognized the shade of grey.
"You're a member of the Sword Of Logos Magic Knight squad?" Fuegoleon asked as he and the rest of the captains recognized the ripped Magic Knight robes.
"You can say that. The name's Bahato." The now known Bahato introduced himself.
The name cause a small frown to appear on Sophia's face, something that Yami noticed with his Ki reading.
"What exactly are you doing here?" William asked, becoming cautious as well.
"I'm here just to collect something." Bahato responded as he took out what looks like a stack of papers.
Whilst the captains become confused at the stack of papers, Sophia and Julius, who is hiding behind a corner along with Marx, widen their eyes.
"H-how do you know that those pages are here?" Sophia asked in a shock tone of voice.
"Pages?" The other captains thought, glancing towards Sophia confusedly.
"Lets just say that I have a….connection with these pages." Bahato responded, a smirk appearing on his face.
"I don't what is going on, but it would best if you returned those pages." Nozel stated as he got his Grimoire ready.
However, Bahato didn't seemed fazed by by this.
"If you want to fight me, then go ahead." Bahato said just as Grimoire, which is mainly a dark orange colour with swirling like patterns done in black, floated into the air before opening.
Something came out of the pages which Bahato took and placed it on his waist.
Haken Bladriver
The revealed Haken Bladriver announced as a belt came out it, securing it properly around Bahato.
"What?!" The captains thought as they stared at the Haken Bladriver which resembles the Seiken Sword-Driver but the gold has been replaced with orange and the slots for the animal and story Wonder-Ride books have been replaced by wing-like pieces, done in orange as well.
"The Haken…..Bladriver….Wait, you're…..?!" Sophia muttered, her eyes widening.
This was noticed by Bahato whose smirk grew.
"So your starting to realize who I am." Bahato said as he took out a Wonder-Ride book which is done in black and orange. On the cover is a flame-covered phoenix that is under the title of "Eternal Phoenix".
Everyone watched as Bahato opened the cover of the newly revealed Wonder-Ride book.
"The legend of the phoenix passed down through the ages has now become reality..."
"Eternal Phoenix" announced before Bahato closed the cover and placed the Wonder-Ride book into the only slot on the Haken Bladriver, causing a larger version of "Eternal Phoenix" to appear behind him whilst a standby sound started to play.
Bahato placed his hand on the handle of the sheathed sword, which is done in black and orange and the guard has two curved pieces which are facing different directions from each other, before unsheathing the sword.
Unsheathe!
Eternal Phoenix!
Void! The jet black sword returns to nothing!
The voice announced whilst a phoenix burst out of the larger version of "Eternal Phoenix" before circling around Bahato before merging with him. Everyone stared at how Bahato is now donning an armor which is has a black under-suit whilst his upper-body is covered in an orange armor that include black marking on the left side whilst the head of phoenix rests on Bahato's right shoulder on his left side there is a trench-coat which is designed as feathers which are featured on his legs and arms as well. The helmet that Bahato is wearing is black with red eye-pieces which is surrounded by orange strips and poking out of his forehead is a black sword-like horn. The blade of the sword that Bahato is holding is jet black in colour with a strip done in light orange this time with an open book-like emblem at the base on the blade instead of the top.
"A Holy Sword wielder?!" Kaiser said in a shock tone of voice as he glanced towards Sophia.
"….Kamen Rider Falchion, the swordsman of the void and wielder of Kyomu, the unmarked sword." Sophia said as she stared at the newly appeared Kamen Rider.
"Glad that I'm remembered." Falchion said in an amused tone of voice.
"Swordsman of the Void? Nice name." Yami commented as he placed a hand on his the hilt of his Katana.
"Who cares what title he has, time to slice him!" Jack exclaimed as he lunged towards Falchion.
"Jack, wait!" Sophia began to exclaim, attempting to call Jack back, but the captain of the Green Mantis was too close to the swordsman of the void to properly listen, green blades at the ready.
With Falchion, a black aura, that include wisps of orange, surround the blade of Kyomu and he swing the black-bladed sword.
Mostly everyone expected for the two blades to connect, but Kyomu easily sliced through Jack's weapon.
"Huh?!" Jack exclaimed in a shock tone of voice as he continued to move forwards.
Falchion took the opportunity to kick Jack on the back, making the captain of the Green Mantis stumble before crashing onto the ground.
"The fool!" Fuegoleon shouted in his head as he summoned Salamander from his Grimoire.
"Spirit Magic: Salamander's Breath!" The captain of the Crimson Lions announced, causing the spirit of fire to release a breath of fire straight towards Falchion.
The swordsman of the void didn't move from his spot but the pages of his Grimoire did.
"Void Magic: Abyssal Phoenix's Shield." Falchion announced as a shield with feather-like designs appeared in front of him.
When the flames struck the shield, they simply disappeared on contact.
"W-what?! The flames just-?!" Fuegoleon muttered in a stunned tone of voice as he stared at the unharmed Falchion.
"What the hell were you thinking?! You almost cooked me!" Jack said in angry tone of voice as he slowly stood up from up off the ground, him being saved by Sophia's magic.
"Then you should have move quicker then." Yami responded in a blank tone of voice.
"I wasn't speaking to you!" Jack said, still in an angry tone of voice.
"So you're the new possessor of Salamander, huh?" Falchion commented as he glanced at the dragon.
"Amazing! Salamander has chosen Captain Fuegoleon as it's new host!" Julius thought in an excited tone of voice as he stuck his head from out of the corner whilst Marx attempted to drag Julius's head back.
"What just happened?" Charlotte asked as she glanced towards Sophia.
"The magical attribute that is "void" contains the quality of magic nullification." Sophia responded, making everyone's eyes widened.
"So we just have to use brute force then." Mereoleone said, a predator-like grin appearing on her face as she cracked her knuckles.
"Right behind you." Yami said as he unsheathed his Katana slightly.
"Oh? So there's those outside the Sword Of Logos that use non-magic means to fight." Falchion said as he tilt his head to the side slightly.
"You got that right!" Mereoleone exclaimed before charging towards the swordsman of the void with Yami right behind her.
"Although I'm not sure if I'm actually needed." The captain of the Black Bulls thought, gaining an unsure expression on his face.
"Even if I'm unable to use my spells, I can still use Mana-Skin and Mana-Zone."Mereoleone thought as she brought a fist back before throwing it forwards.
Falchion hopped back to avoid the first punch, but the former captain of the Royal Knights suddenly appeared to the side of the swordsman of the void, already having her other fist at the ready.
Somehow, Falchion managed to raise Kyomu and used the flat side of the blade to block the fist.
"He's quick!" Mereoleone thought as she felt her Mana-Skin disappearing, although Falchion was knocked back by the force behind the attack.
"You're wide open! Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Lightless Slash!" Yami exclaimed as he swing his dark-covered Katana at Falchion.
The swordsman of the void grunted slightly as the attack struck him.
"I didn't need your help, Yami Sukehiro!" Mereoleone said, but took the opportunity to attack Falchion again, making him stumble back this time.
"Void Magic: Abyssal Phoenix's Feathers Shot." Falchion announced as the pages of his Grimoire began to turn.
Black feathers, that contain a tint of orange, appeared in front of the swordsman of the void before shooting them straight towards the two captains.
"Dark Magic:-Oh right, I can't use my magic on this guy." Yami said, cutting off his spell as he just used his Katana to deflect Falchion's attack.
A person suddenly dashed beside Yami and Mereoleone, revealing them to be Dorothy with a purple coloured sword in her hands.
Falchion raised Kyomu to block the sword attack from Dorothy.
"That design of your sword….are you a former member of the Sword Of Logos?" Falchion asked as he held his ground as Dorothy put pressure behind her sword.
"Nope!" The captain of the Coral Peacock responded in a chirpy tone of voice before jumping back slightly and attacking the swordsman of the void again.
"That sword style….." Nozel thought, an image of Noelle wielding Argent-Couronne appeared in his head.
"Miss Unsworth! Please get out of the way!" Kaiser said, causing Dorothy to glance over her shoulder to see that the captain of the Purple Orcas has his Grimoire out.
Knowing what is about to happen, Dorothy jumped to the side just as Kaiser activate his magic, trapping Falchion in a whirlwind.
"What are they thinking? They know that I can slice through magic." Falchion thought as he covered the blade of Kyomu in a black aura.
"You don't mind if I joined in, do you?" Fuegoleon asked just as Salamander began to release a breath of fire.
"By all means." Kaiser responded, making Fuegoleon to nod his head before commanding Salamander to release it's attack, joined by Nozel who fired mercury-made spears.
The two attacks joined the whirlwind where an explosion occurred.
When the smoke disappeared, the captains, Julius, Marx and the servants saw no traces of Falchion, but the Haken Bladriver lay on the ground where he stood.
"Did….we defeat him….?" Charlotte asked, relaxing her stance slightly, being prepared to use her Baird magic if needed.
"It would seem so….." William responded with a small frown on his face.
"That would teach him for breaking into the headquarters of the Magic Knights." Nozel said in a haughty tone of voice.
"I don't see those pages that Falchion was holding. Did you mind that we destroyed them?" Kaiser asked as he glanced towards Sophia.
However, the captain of the Sword Of Logos became silent just as a servant approached the Haken Bladriver.
"The magic attribute of "void". That's something new." The servant thought as she began to crouch down to pick up the Driver.
However, it was at that moment that a feather covered in flames descended onto the Haken Bladriver and when it touched the Driver, a mass of flames suddenly burst into life.
"W-what?!" The servant exclaimed just as the flames began to take the shape of a human and after a few seconds, Falchion emerged from the flames, completely unharmed.
"What the-!? He came back to life!?" Rill exclaimed in a shock tone of voice.
"Shoot!" Yami exclaimed as he dashed forwards just as Falchion raised Kyomu, preparing to cut down the servant with the unmarked sword.
Luckily, Kyomu was blocked by Dorothy's sword whilst the captain of the Black Bulls go the servant to safety.
The swordsman of the void jumped back.
"I have enough playing around. I better make leave and find the cover. Void Magic: Abyssal Phoenix's Path." Falchion stated as he created a portal from his magic.
"Do you think that we can let you leave after attacking the Magic Knight's headquarters?" Nozel asked with a glare on his face.
"Of course." Falchion responded simply as he started to enter the portal.
Jack lunged forwards and swing one of his blades.
However, when the blade struck the portal, it shattered.
"Tch." Jack said in annoyed tone of voice.
"Sophia. What are those pages?" Fuegoleon asked as he and the rest of the captains turned towards Sophia.
"…..I need to gather the Magic Knights of the Sword Of Logos first." Sophia responded after a few seconds of being silent.
And there we go, the start of a new arc which revolve around Falchion and the book of Ruin, or the Grimoire of Ruin I should say. So did you guys like the concept of void magic possessing the quality of magic negation? I'm sure you are aware that I wrote Falchion as the "swordsman of the void", rather than the "immortal swordsman". Well, the title of "immortal swordsman" is exclusive towards Baahto himself.
In Black Clover, Moris uses his newly gained Paladin powers to discompose Mereolone's body, yet she covered body in her "Hellfire Incarnation" spell, letting her to keep on fighting. When it would seem that Mereoleone would get fully hit by Moris's tentacles, the Crimson Lions Magic Knights started to sacrifice themselves, acting as Mereoleone's shield and letting her properly destroy the tentacles. Fuegoleon, who is focusing on protecting the citizens from the angel-like statues, noted how there is a limit to Morris's powers just as Mereoleone is about to perform a critical punch at Morris.
So whilst this chapter seems short, it certainly shows how serious the battle is becoming with how the Magic Knights are starting to sacrifice themselves. Because of this, I hope that Fuegoleon will used his Spirit Dive with Salamander.
In Geats:
1) Whilst Ace and Michinaga talked, they were interrupted by the Jamato that consumed Archimedel, but Zin appeared and fought the Dunkleousteus Jamato which ended with Goddess's announcement. This leads to "Archimedel" having an argument with Beroba.
2) Ace and Zin had a talk where Zin revealed that he discovered some background information on the DGP where in the rules were different when it first started, such as the prize being a pure gold coin before changing into the creation of am ideal world with the Jamatos becoming more ferocious. Zin gift Ace the "Boost" Raise Buckle and encourage him to talk to the Goddess of Creation herself to find the truth.
3) Ace confronts Niram and requests about meeting the Goddess of Creation, but was denied unless he could retrieved the stolen Vision Driver, resulting in Ace in confronting Michinaga, who had a conversation with Beroba, before the two of the fight each other.
5) With Ace being the victor, he traveled to the space where the Goddess of Creation resides and began to speak to her, but Mitsume became silent. When questioned the newly arrived Niram about Mitsume's silence, Niram simply responded to Ace that the Goddess of Creation wishes to become silent, yet this cause the statue to start "crying", causing Ace to realize that becoming the Goddess of Creation isn't something that Mitsume wanted.
6) This resulted in Geats and Gazer battling each other, yet it was interrupted by Baffa, defeating both of them and claiming both Vision Drivers. Zin came to the realization that the "Heaven and Hell" mission has the intent of causing Geats and Gazer to go at each other's throats. Michinaga and Beroba headed to where the Goddess of Creation resides where Michinaga got his Desire granted, ending the JGP...and starting the Desire Royal with Sueru taking charge.
So the rule for the JGP is that the remaining Jamato standing will be crowned the Jamato God and be granted their ideal world and the first rule of the Desire Royal is that the purpose of this game is to defeat all Kamen Riders. So finally Michinaga has gotten his Desire granted...but I'm disappointed with the new form, its just his base form with longer horns and cape, along with being equipped the "Fever" Raise Buckle. However, the good news is that we're finally get to see Ben's and John's Kamen Rider forms in the upcoming DR, plus two more Kamen Rider, one whose name is yet to be revealed and Kamen Rider Hakubi who is based on on a masked palm civet. So this episodes confirms how Mitsume was known to be a DGP navigator yet being the Goddess of Creation, her being the navigator for the gold coin prized era of the DGP, something that I found confusion. One of the ID Cores in Sueru's possession is the Punkjack ID Core, signifying the possible return of Win.
