A/N: Good morning, everybody! Welcome back to Transformers MHA and the beginning of the Internships Arc! Now, I say "Internships" and not "Hero Killer" Arc because these internships are gonna extend WAY beyond what Stain has to offer. Don't get me wrong, Stain's still a big part of this, but let's not forget… there's gonna be another half of this arc is gonna be pretty significant as well. But, before we get to any of that, I promised you a casting for the Mini-Con Counsil last time, so here they are;

Scythe – voiced by Bob Joels

Anti-Blaze – voiced by Wally Wingert

Checkpoint – voiced by Adrian Pasdar

Now, you may recognize the first two as the voices of X-Brawn and Sideburn respectively from Robots in Disguise 2001, and that was deliberate. However, Adrian Pasdar DIDN'T voice the third Autobot Brother, Prowl, in that series, so why is HE here? Well, Prowl's voice actor has since retired from voice acting (in fact, Prowl was his ONLY voice role he ever did), and I'd like to keep casting as realistic as possible here. Thankfully, I think Adrian sounds similar enough that he'd make a fine stand-in. Plus, it wouldn't be the FIRST time he's played a Mini-Con. But, with the preamble out of the way, let's begin! This is…

Chapter 49: Incoming Internships

…..

As he and the rest of his Autobots rolled into their base through the GroundBridge, Optimus' mind was reeling from what little he had been told about the recovery of the relic from Red Alert. Of all Decepticons, the other two teams encountering SWINDLE was the last thing the Prime could have expected. Thankfully, the medic had assured him that everyone made it back safe and sound—with relic in-hand, no less—but Optimus still felt somewhat bad about the whole situation, having gone down without him even realizing it. If anything, though, it assured him that his team was strong, and all capable of handling themselves, humans included.

Optimus transformed, with Bulkhead, Springer, Strongarm, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker falling in line with him as they met Red at the controls. Down below, Mina, Eijiro and Denki all rushed to keep up as well, and Roller quickly jumped up and took his place on Optimus' shoulder. "Red Alert, status report." Prime requested.

"Everyone is present and accounted for, Prime." Red smiled knowingly. "They're all outside waiting for you."

"Hah, great." Denki breathed as they all started making their way outside. "Can't wait to hear all about THIS fiasco."

Mina giggled and folded her arms over her chest. "Hehe, yeah. Sounds like those guys got into a pretty big scuffle." She squirmed in place in irritation. "D'ooh, I wish we were there to get in on the action!"

"Yeah, but they got the relic back safe, so that's what matters." Bulkhead reaffirmed, giving his human partner a questioning optic. "Besides, last thing they'd need is MORE chaos in that situation."

Springer balked at his friend's statement. "Hah! Speak for yourself, Bulk. I would've loved to kick Swindle's can all the way from here to Alpha Centauri." His smirk increased as he nudged Bulkhead's arm. "An' c'mon, don't tell me ya wouldn't wanna mix it up with Skullcruncher a bit."

Bulkhead grumbled, rolling his optics with a shrug. "Well… okay, maybe I little, but that's all past us now."

"Maybe, but they're still on this planet as far as we know." Eijiro pointed out. "We could possibly run into 'em again."

"In that event, we will have to be ready to confront them, Eijiro." Optimus reasoned. "No doubt Swindle will be upset that he is now stranded on this planet and—hm?" He trailed off as he saw the other half of their team all gathered outside on the field… and the children were riding out on three very tiny vehicles, laughing and cheering jubilantly.

Izuku and Momo were the only two who weren't riding, though, the former noticing their arrival and waving them down. "Hey guys! Welcome back!"

"We've been expecting you!" Momo greeted as well.

The rest of the Autobots and the three humans with them were left baffled. "Uh… guys? What's going on?" Sideswipe uttered.

"I have NO idea." Sunstreaker admitted.

However, Strongarm was left completely astonished by what she was seeing. She recognized the VTOL that Kyoka was flying on the back of, as well as the tiny police cruiser and fire engine that Ochako and Itsuka were dashing around on. A gasp escaped her lips and she charged forward, practically bowling over the Autobot twins. "GAH! H-Hey! What's the big idea?!" Sideswipe shouted.

"AUGH! Strongarm, think of my PAINT!"

"…Dude, seriously?"

The Autobot cadet paid them no mind, however as she charged straight at the team, taking them all aback before she stood up straight and assumed a salute. "SIRS! You're alive!"

Below, the police cruiser stopped on a dime, nearly making Ochako fly off but transforming in time to catch her. "My apologies, Miss Uraraka." Checkpoint bowed his head. "Duty calls." He placed the Gravity user down on her feet and returned Strongarm's salute. "Cadet! It's been far too long."

Next to him, Anti-Blaze pulled up, allowing Itsuka to step off before he transformed as well. "Hey-hey! If it isn't Strongarm!" he said as he saluted back. "Good to see you online!"

"My sentiments exactly!" The Osprey helicopter lowered down and Kyoka hopped off after the rotors stopped, wherein Scythe transformed into robot mode and gave Strongarm a salute as well. "Yer certainly a sight for sore optics, cadet. How've ya been? Oh, er, at ease, by the way"

"I've been well, sir!" Strongarm replied, keeping her back straight but bringing her arm down. "But I'm absolutely amazed to see you all!" She brought her gaze down to the humans as Arcee, Flare Up, Windblade, Jazz and Bee all came over. "Did you guys FIND them in the mountains?!"

Kyoka gave a thumbs up. "We sure did! …Eh, well, technically Swindle did, but we freed 'em before he could make them his servants. No thanks are necessary."

Over by the other bots, Roller gave a surprised; "Hah… well would ya imagine that!" He jumped off of Prime's shoulder and jogged straight over to his men, who all finally took notice of his presence and were just as shocked. "Am I seeing this or is this my hand-picked council standing in front of me?!"

"By Trion's Beard!" Scythe exclaimed, drawing closer to the Mini-Con leader. "Roller?! Holy scrap, it IS you!"

"Sir! It's good to see you again, sir!" Anti-Blaze addressed appropriately.

"Indeed, we had no idea you were on this planet as well!" Checkpoint directed his gaze over to the humans curiously, specifically focusing on Kyoka. "Ma'am, why didn't you tell us about this sooner?"

Kyoka's grin persisted as she gave a simple shrug. "Eh, I thought you guys would like the surprise, if I'm being honest."

Itsuka nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I mean, after everything that you've been through, you guys deserve to have some exciting news for yourselves, too."

"Though, now that you know about Roller, we can let it slip now that High Wire, Sureshock and Grindor are on Earth, too." Ochako said with a wink. "They're not here right now, but I'm sure they're gonna be super psyched to see you all here when they come back."

With a short huff, Scythe mused on everything that had just been presented to him. Not only were there NUMEROUS allies on this planet, but their very own Mini-Con brethren had survived the Ark's crash as well. "Huh, ya know, today might not've started out the best when we woke up, but damn, does this make up fer it!"

"You're telling me." Anti-Blaze pumped an eager fist. "Wonder if more teams survived the crash. Perhaps the Racetrack Team? Oh! Or maybe even the Air Defense Team!"

Hearing that, every Autobot present immediately grew crestfallen, along with the humans as well. However, the Council didn't seem to notice. "Ah, yes, those three would be quite the squad to run into on this planet." Checkpoint concurred. "With their combined Cyber-Caliber form, winning against the Decepticons would be—"

"Ahem…" Optimus piped up, interjecting into the conversation. "Pardon me, men, but…" He glanced down to Roller, whom sadly nodded up to him. They both knew that they had some bad news to break. "We… have something we must tell you." And tell them, they did, and by the time they were threw, the Emergency Response Team were left quite visibly shellshocked. Once he was threw, Optimus lowered his head. "I am so sorry."

Anti-Blaze scowled at the ground and kicked the nearest rock so hard that it flew straight into the ocean. "GAH! Decepticon COWARDS!"

Clenching a fist in ire, Checkpoint wholeheartedly agreed. "They have the absolute NERVE to submit three of our trusted allies to their will?! I will not STAND for it!"

"That makes three o' us." Scythe straightened out his fingers and his hands began rotating rapidly, almost as if he was ready to fire then and there. "Roller! Tell us where those Cons are an' we'll get Runway an' the others back by FORCE if we need to!"

"Woah, woah, hold up there, men!" Roller raised his hands, hoping to diffuse the situation before it escalated. "Let's not get in over our heads here. What's done is done and there's not much we can do about it now, at least not while the Air Defense Team is with the Decepticons."

Optimus nodded in agreement. "Correct. If we are to save them, then we must work to isolate them from the Decepticons themselves."

Mina raised a finger to point something out. "Which is easier said than done since Thundercracker is pretty much constantly holding onto them."

Springer, however, wagged his own finger down at her. "It's hard, but not impossible, Mina. And we've done the impossible before." The Triple Changer set his sights down to the frustrated Mini-Con team, his gaze sympathetic with a serious expression. "And believe me, I know what it feels like to have your teammates taken from you. Don't worry, we'll find a way to free 'em, we can promise you that."

"…Hah, I suppose we can't ask fer much more than that." Scythe sighed, his hands relaxing as he waved up to the bigger bots. "Thank ya kindly, ya'll."

"It's our pleasure." Roller put a hand to his chest in solidarity before walking over and ushering the Council to follow him. "Now come on, let me give you a tour of the base. I'll show you where we Mini-Cons usually rest our wheels."

"YES, SIR!" All three of the Emergency Rescue Mini-Cons saluted once again before following Roller inside, but Anti-Blaze paused briefly to turn back to Kyoka with a thumbs up. "Thank you very much again, ma'am! I hope we get to work together in the future sometime!"

Kyoka laughed and returned the gesture. "Haha, no problem at all, soldier! I'll catch ya later." With that, Anti-Blaze rushed in after his team, leaving everyone else outside. "Hm… so, Arcee, wasn't there something you wanted to give Optimus?"

The pink femme raised her head at the reminder. "Oh, right, of course… Bumblebee?" To her right, Bumblebee opened up his chest and produced the slim, black box that contained the relic, handing it to Arcee so that she may present it to the Prime. "Optimus, we went through quite a lot to get this relic. And honestly, it was all worth it, because with its previous owner's passing…" She hoisted it up and Optimus took hold of it inquisitively. "…you are now its rightful owner."

"Hm?" Optimus was left perplexed, to be sure, but once he opened the box, all of his questioned were answered. He gave an audible gasp—something quite rare for the Prime—as he stared at the metal feather, slowly reaching his other hand up to grasp it shakily. The humans especially were surprised by Optimus' behavior, while the other Autobots all gasped as well.

"…No scrapping way." Sideswipe muttered.

Sunstreaker shook his head. "Is that what I think it is?!"

Red Alert, having just walked out to join them, struggled to find the proper words for such a momentous sight. "It is… it is Alpha Trion's Quill."

The bots all ogled the ancient relic with awe and amazement… but the 1-A students were much less entranced. Some of them were completely dumbstruck by the relic's appearance, having expected something much more… grand, for lack of a better term. Others, like Kyoka, Itsuka and Izuku, were currently gawking at it slack-jawed. "…We nearly got our asses blown up by a Decepticon conman… over a freaking FEATHER?!" the punk rocker exclaimed.

"Kyoka, that isn't just ANY feather!" Strongarm said firmly, taking Kyoka a back. "You should keep that in mind, just so you know."

"Strongarm, that is unnecessary." Optimus lightly chastised. "It is natural that none of the humans know the significance of this relic." He knelt down and held the Quill by his fingertips, showing the artifact to the kids close-up. "Allow me to explain, children. You see, this Quill may not seem as such, but it is an incredibly powerful item. This was created several eons ago, back when the first Thirteen Primes were still young. It was subsequently given to my mentor, Alpha Trion, so that he may record the history of Cybertron with it." His optics shifting back to the Quill, Prime saw his reflection in its golden sheen. "And that, he did. Detailing everything in the Covenant of Primus, Alpha Trion successfully recorded every single piece of Cybertronian history, all using this very writing device."

Eijiro was still a tad confused, though. "Okay… so how is it so powerful?"

"Because when paired with the Covenant, it can be used for much more than cataloguing past events." Optimus furthered as he stood back up. "…It is said that, should Trion write anything down about the future within the Covenant, those events have a strong probability of coming to pass."

All at once, the human's eyes widened at what Optimus was implying. "W-Wait, so… you're saying that Alpha Trion could… manipulate the future?!" Denki exclaimed.

"In a sense, yes." Optimus confirmed. "But only slightly. Should the events he wrote clash with those that are SUPPOSED to happen, it was far less likely anything would be affected."

Izuku was almost staggering at all of this. To think, a simple metal quill could do something as colossal as change the FUTURE with only a certain parchment of paper—or whatever the Covenant was made out of. "This… that is amazing." he whispered. "Do you… do you think the Covenant of Primus is on EARTH?"

"It'd make sense." Jazz mused. "After all, it WAS Trion who sent all these relics here in the first place. Maybe he sent his Quill an' the Covenant here to keep 'em outta Megatron's hands?"

But Optimus shook his head. "No. Alpha Trion would not risk sending both the Quill and the Covenant to the same world. If anyone were to find both and discover how they work, the results would be catastrophic." The Prime craned his head up to the sky, seeing the stars begin to pop in as dusk took hold. "I suspect that the Covenant itself is still on Cybertron, likely locked away in a place that only Trion knew about."

Windblade gave a sigh of relief. "Hah, so even if Megatron somehow managed to find it, he wouldn't be able to alter future events in his favor."

"Well, that's good news, at least." Momo concurred. "But what about the Quill itself?"

Optimus gently placed the ancient pen back into the container it was in, closing and locking it tightly. "While I would like nothing more to keep the Quill close to the chest, I fear that the Decepticons would do anything to take hold of its power. Therefore, I shall send it to Sector Seven and have it stored with the Skyboom Shield. One day, though… after the war is over, I believe I will take up the Quill myself, and use it to catalogue our history into the Covenant of Primus in my mentor's place."

Izuku was particularly stunned by that. "Woah, you'd even catalogue the war, Optimus?"

"Indeed. While the war would be a painful memory for many an Autobot, or even some Decepticons by that point, it is still worth noting in the history of our race… in hopes that something like it would never happen again." Once more, Optimus looked toward the sky, reminiscing about days gone by. "On Cybertron, we have a saying… "Till all are one". It serves as a beacon, one which hopes that someday, our race will well and truly be united in solidarity with one another, without clear lines of division." The Autobot leader placed a gentle hand on the Quill's container. "Perhaps the Quill will see the day it finally gets to record that significant part of history."

Everyone couldn't help but smile at the Prime's sentiment. "Aw! I think that's very sweet, Optimus." Ochako cooed. "You have a lot of hope for the future, I can tell."

Beneath his faceplate, Optimus smiled down to the Gravity user. "It is that hope which keeps me going, Ochako. And, with this team, my faith in that hope is stronger than ever." Optimus' truck grill on his abdomen then opened up, allowing him to store the Quill on his person. "For now, though, I will bring this to Sector Seven." As his compartment closed, he then turned his attention back to the humans. "And as for all of you, you have a very big day coming up. I suggest you all take your time to rest and pack your things beforehand."

"Oh, yeah, that's right!" Itsuka exclaimed, throwing her hands up to her head. "The internships! So much was going on that I completely forgot about them!"

"D'oh, you're right! There's so much we still gotta do before we leave!" Denki shouted as well.

Flare Up raised her arms and said; "Well then, what're we waitin' for? Whrr-tschzz-tschzz-tschzz-ckt! With a backwards flip, she transformed into vehicle mode, revving her engine and beckoning Itsuka to get on. "Let's getcha all home so ya can get that done!"

"W-Wait, did anybody see Hatsume anywhere?" Mina questioned. "I haven't seen her since we got back."

Furrowing his metal brow, Bulkhead also noticed someone else missing. "Hey, yeah, and where's Airazor? Wasn't she with your team, Jazz?"

However, the Autobot lieutenant gave his larger compatriot a reassuring wave. "Ah, no need to worry 'bout 'em. They ain't too far…" Jazz pointed straight up and everyone followed his line of sight, where they were met with Airazor—in beast mode—perched on top of the base, with Mei right by her side. The pink-haired inventor was currently welding… something into the bird bot's nest, though what it was, they couldn't tell.

It wasn't until Mei stopped and stood up, pulling back her welding helmet, that they found out. "Ah, there ya go, Airazor!" The dreadlocked young woman said with a thumbs up. As it happened, she had actually welded several metal braces around the Maximal warrior's nest, which effectively anchored it to the roof of the base. "Now your next won't be taken by any strong storms or anything like that!"

"Hmhm, thank you very much, Mei." Airazor chortled kindheartedly. "I appreciate the thoughtful gesture." But it was then that she noticed everyone staring up at them, to which she perked her head around and called out; "Oh! Hello down there, everyone!"

"Huh? Oh! Heya, guys!" Mei waved. "Didn't hear ya come in, sorry! I'll be right down!"

Eijiro grinned and gave a two-fingered salute. "Ah, it's okay. We can see that you're pretty busy, Hatsume, no need to come down on our account."

"It's fine, I just finished up fastening Airazor's nest in place, anyway!" Mei looked up to the Maximal with a short nod. "Alright, I'm ready."

Lowering her back, Airazor spread her wings and allowed Mei to climb on. "Very well, let's go!" Once Mei was secured, Airazor flew straight up and then gently descended down to the group, where Mei hopped off after her short ride. Maximizing into robot mode, Airazor set her optics onto her new leader. "So, Optimus, I take it that the team granted the relic unto you?"

"They did. And thank you for your part in retrieving it, Airazor." Optimus returned in gratitude.

Sideswipe winked and gave a thumbs up. "See? Already earning your stripes! Told ya you'd make tracks!"

"Hmhm, thank you, Sideswipe, I… stripes?" All of a sudden, Airazor's countenance grew perplexed as she lingered on the word, finding something about it strangely familiar. "Stripes, I… I… agh!" Without warning, the Maximal let out a groan and clutched her head in pain, wincing as she went kneeling to the ground. "AUGH!"

Everyone gasped and the humans backed away as Airazor fell before them, writhing in the dirt as she screamed in pain. "Airazor!" many of them shouted in concern. "W-What's happening?!" Itsuka questioned.

"Oh, Primus, no!" Windblade rushed forward and fell to her knees in front of Airazor, reaching her hands down and taking hold of her by the helm to lift her head up. "Airazor, focus on my voice…" With her optics shining bright and the markings on her face glowing an intense red, Windblade began using her Cityspeaking abilities directly. It wouldn't have the same affect as using them with a Cortical Psychic Patch, but it would be enough to help relieve her pain. Slowly but surely, Airazor stopped struggling and lurched forward, breathing heavily as she worked through the overwhelming feeling. "Hah… are you…"

"F-Fine… I think." Airazor replied.

Ochako and the girls started forward, gazing up to the Maximal in concern. "Airazor! W-What happened?"

Windblade tightened her lips and vented out a breath. "She had a memory surge. Her processor tried to recollect something, but with a memory core as damaged as hers, it only caused her intense pain." Setting her hands to Airazor's shoulders, she helped her teammate up and led her toward the base. "We should get to work on uncovering your memories as soon as possible, so that something like this never happens again."

"Y-You're right." Airazor whispered before peering over her shoulder, smiling down to her human friends. "It's alright, everyone, I'll be fine. I'm entrusting my care to Windblade, and all of you should do the same."

"Of course, Airazor." Momo smiled in approval, seeing her friends do the same. "I trust Windblade, so I know she'll do a good job helping you."

The Cityspeaker chuckled and winked down to her partner. "I'll certainly do my best. But really, all of you should get going now. You've got a lot to prepare for on Monday."

Her words were something that all of the students could agree upon, and it wasn't long before they were all accompanying their robotic guardians toward the GroundBridge. …That is, everyone aside from Bumblebee, Jazz, Izuku and Kyoka, the four of them remaining outside with Optimus on purpose. "…Prime, I think you know what I wanna talk about." the punk rocker spoke up.

"Hm, indeed." Optimus nodded. "A day and a half remains before you can begin your mission. Are you nervous?"

Kyoka shook her head in denial. "No, not really. But I got something in the mail that might complicate things regarding the mission…" Reaching into her jacket, she pulled out a slip of paper, lifting it up so that Optimus could see. "This is a ferry ticket that was delivered to my home, along with a letter that said I was to take a boat out to a small island off the coast of Hokkaido. Apparently that's where Snake Eyes' hero agency is."

Bumblebee could only tilt his head. "Zrtk—What's the problem?"

"The problem is that she can't take Jazz without raising suspicion in that case." Izuku explained. "The ferry captain is probably in league with Snake Eyes, so he'd report Jazz being there."

Jazz winced at the situation. "Yeah, an' Kyoka can't drive me since she don't got a license. No easy way gettin' onto that island, that's for sure." Peering up to his leader, Jazz placed his hands on his hips. "…At least, no conventional way. We might have to GroundBridge this one, Prime."

"Yes, you may be right." Optimus concurred. "Though the issue remains on how you will remain unseen throughout the duration of her infiltration."

That only made the lieutenant smirk. "Prime, are you forgettin' who you're talkin' to?" Whrr-tschzz-tschzz-tschzz-ckt! "Check this out." After his transformation, Jazz's alt mode gleamed briefly before something astonishing happened. His entire paintjob changed. What was once a standard paint job for a Martini Racing Porsche suddenly became dark green and black jungle camouflage, almost as if an electronic buzz had moved across the entire car to change it.

Izuku and Kyoka were left utterly slack-jawed. "W-W-WHAT THE HELL?!" they both exclaimed.

"Zrkt—Woohoo! Zrkt—Goin' green!" Bumblebee cheered.

Kyoka pointed a shaky finger up to her partner, still trying to comprehend how that happened. "B-B-B-But how?!"

"Ah, yes, I suppose I should have mentioned…" Optimus started, garnering their attention. "A natural part of our ability to disguise is the capability of changing our paint for any situation."

"It's called electronic paint." Jazz emphasized. "Pretty neat, huh?" In another flash, Jazz changed his paintjob once again… only this time, it was a rather garish and glaring neon red and orange. He transformed back into his robot mode with this paint applied, revealing that his head and visor were now entirely this bright orange. "I call this one; "Generation Hue"! You like?"

With a low scowl, Kyoka made her distaste for it known. "It's making my eyes bleed. Please change back." Jazz wasn't too pleased with the comment, but he did revert back to his normal color scheme, to which Kyoka sighed and went back to Optimus. "Well, I guess it's as good a plan as we're gonna have. Hopefully it works."

"I hope so as well." Optimus voiced in solidarity. "But, we shall have to wait until Monday to see. For now, you all need your rest. I will see you tomorrow, children." With that, Jazz and Bee took their human companions and went straight to the GroundBridge, leaving Optimus to himself to muse on the day they'd just had. Producing the Quill's container from his storage, Prime laid a hand on it, sighing to himself. "Alpha Trion… what purpose does sending all these relics to Earth serve? Was this something your foresaw? …Or was it something you made happen with this?" It was a question that lingered in the Autobot Leader's head the whole night. And ultimately, he couldn't come up with an answer.

…..

Before any of the students knew it, Monday had come, and that meant that they'd be headed out first thing in the morning. And an early morning it was, since many of the students would have a LONG train ride ahead of them. Class 1-A had arrived at their designated train station, with 1-B having gone to another, and Aizawa was there to see them off. …As well as to make sure that they all were clear on how they should behave in the coming week. "Everyone has their costumes, right?" the tired man asked as he stared at his excited students. "Remember, you don't have permission to wear them out in public yet unless your assigned mentors specifically say so. Oh, and obviously, don't lose them or anything."

"Gotcha!" Mina shouted, holding her costume's briefcase over her head.

"Speak properly." Aizawa scolded. "It's "yes sir", Ashido."

"…Yes sir." the pink girl pouted, much to the amusement of her classmates.

Aizawa shook his head and continued. "Make sure you mind your manners with the other heroes during your internships. Now get to it."

Once they gave a collective "YES SIR!", the group of students made their way toward the trains that would take them to their respective cities… all except a certain group who had broken away and were very obviously headed OUT of the station. "Hm? You guys, where're you going?" Tsuyu spoke up.

Kaida paused, seeing Momo, Mina, Eijiro, Denki and Ochako all headed in the same direction. '…Why am I not surprised?' The Sauro-Parts user gave a smirk and deduced; "Oh… I get why. You guys got a ride with your special mentors, don't ya?" The seven teens all immediately flinched and came to a halt, which got Kaida laughing. "Ahaha! Called it!"

"Man, so lucky." Sero said with a frown. "You guys getting chauffeured around on the streets."

"H-Hey, it's not all that's cracked up to be!" Denki countered. "Have you guys ever had to deal with bumper-to-bumper traffic before? It's not fun, I can tell you that."

That made Sato scrunch his nose, the Sugar Rush user even more confused than before. "…Then why not take the train?"

Momo sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Because they insisted on taking us to our internships. They wanted to see us off themselves, so we'll be going with them." But then, her eyes trailed over to a certain blue-haired young man and purplette headed still sticking around in the station. "But, that said, not EVERY one of us will be going by car…"

The rest of Class 1-A set their sights over to Kyoka and Tenya, the latter still walking away to his line while Kyoka searched for her own train. Also, Izuku was there with her to see her off. "Grr, c'mon, Hokkaido… Hokkaido…"

"That one, right there." Izuku pointed up. "Line B."

"Gah, of course." Kyoka facepalmed. "God, it's been so long since I've had to take a train. Feels like forever."

"Hehe, y-yeah, tell me about it." the greenette chuckled.

Kyoka felt her shoulders slump a bit. "Ugh, it's gonna be a LONG ride. Eight freakin' hours… kinda wish I could just take the GroundBridge."

Izuku winced and gave a shrug. "Yeah, but then you'd arouse some suspicions, so it's probably best not to. B-But don't worry, I'm sure you'll—huh?" But Izuku cut himself off when he noticed Tenya headed toward a train… despite the fact that Strongarm was outside waiting for him. "I-Iida! Hold on a sec!" Izuku went to catch up to the Class Rep, with Kyoka following close behind in concern. Tenya did stop… but he didn't face them initially. "W-Where are you going?"

With her brow furrowed, Kyoka went up to grab his arm. "You DO know that Strongarm's out there waiting for you, right? You should go and—"

"NO." Iida said in a dull roar, enough to echo through the room but not so loud as to disturb everyone else around them. "…N-No, I… I feel I must do this on my own." Taking a deep breath, Tenya finally turned toward them… with probably the fakest smile that Izuku had ever seen. "I'm aware of how much concern you all have for me, and I thank you for that. However, I believe this is a step I need to take by myself."

Tightening her lips, Kyoka raised her head in challenge. "Does Strongarm know about this decision?"

"I told her, yes. We said our goodbyes out front a little while ago."

Izuku swallowed hard, but nodded to Tenya all the same. "O-Okay… but remember, if you ever wanna talk or anything, just let us know." Kyoka also nodded in solidarity. "After all, we're friends… right?"

There was a short pause before Iida gave a simple; "Yes. Farewell, my friends." Then… he left. But what Izuku nor Kyoka could see as he departed was his façade dropping, his faux smile replaced with a scowl that could reduce anyone to a fearful mess.

"…He's not okay." Kyoka concluded.

Izuku shook his head. "No, he isn't… but there's not much we can do about it until we get back." His eyes went back toward the boarding schedule and his eyes widened. "Speaking of, you need to get going. Hokkaido's a pretty long trip, ya know?"

"Heh, yeah, I know." Kyoka winked. "Take it easy, Green Bean. I'll see ya in a week."

"S-Same here." Izuku smiled back sheepishly. "And good luck with… you know…"

The purplette waved her hand in reassurance. "Ah, don't worry about it. If things don't go as planned, Jazz'll get me outta there in no time. I'll be fine, Izuku."

"Oh, that's not what I meant." Izuku clarified. "I have no doubt you'll be fine on your mission, I'm not worried about that." Kyoka was left incredulous as her green-haired friend put on a knowing smirk. "What I'm talking about is—and pardon my French here—you freezing your ass off. I mean, it's Hokkaido, you know?"

Kyoka couldn't help but make an insulted sound, though of course, it was fake as she nudged him in the shoulder. "Ah! Who taught YOU to be so crass, mister?"

A laugh escaped Izuku's throat as he rubbed his arm. "Haha, I think we BOTH know the answer to that, Kyoka."

Rolling her eyes, Kyoka turned around and shook her head. "Heh, well, that's on me, I guess. What HAVE I created?" She glanced over her shoulder at him, her expression soft with a tender smile. "But seriously, good luck on your internship, Izuku."

"Same to you. I'll see you later." The duo passed by one another and gave a high-five as they walked in opposite directions, with Izuku headed straight for the station exit. There, he was met with Bumblebee… and Arcee. And Momo and Ochako as well. The Autobots had their holoforms activated and they were all wearing similar, cheeky smirks, which immediately notified the greenette that they had something in mind. "Uh… h-hey guys."

"Well, well, look who's finally come out to join us." Momo lifted her head up high and craned her head away from him with her arms crossed. "You certainly took your time. Couldn't even spare the time to say goodbye to the others before they left."

"Oh, well, can we BLAME him, Yaomomo?" Ochako's smile widened to the point her eyes clenched shut, her happiness knowing no bounds. "After all, Deku had to say a very special goodbye to a certain someone, am I right?"

Gulping down his anxiety as best he could, Izuku hid himself from the duo as he strolled to Bumblebee as quick as possible. "I-I haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about—eep!"

Arcee—or rather, Sadie—suddenly stopped him in his tracks, grabbing onto his collar and then yanking him back to them. "Izuku, please, your crush on Kyoka is more obvious than your obsession with mumbling to yourself." The One for All user gave her a deadpan glare, which Sadie simply brushed off. "Well, it's the truth!"

"She's right, Midoriya, and there's no shame in that." Momo reinforced, with Ochako nodding enthusiastically next to her. "In fact, we're wholeheartedly behind you when it comes to you and Kyoka."

To say that Izuku wasn't prepared for THAT was an understatement. "Y-You… you do?"

"Of course!" Ochako bounced in place. "I honestly think you two are adorable."

"Honestly, same." Sadie encouraged as well. "Granted, I'm not really an expert on relationships myself, but you two are my friends, so of course I'm going to support you." The pink-haired femme sent the boy a wink. "Just make sure you're not too late when it comes to asking her to be your Conjunx Endura, because you never know when someone could come in and scoop her up when you're not looking."

But Sadie's wording only served to confuse all three of the students. "C-Conjunction what now?" Momo questioned.

Sadie's eyes widened in realization. "Oh, right, right, you guys probably don't know what that means. "Conjunx Endura" is a Cybertronian term meaning "life mate" or "spark mate". It's when two Cybertronians create a bond so deep that it goes down to their very sparks, linking them together in an eternal love." Cupping her hands together, Sadie sighed and gazed up toward the sky. "I don't know if it'll happen, but even I hope I can meet my own Conjunx Endura someday."

"Oh, I see…" While Sadie didn't seem to notice, Izuku certainly took note of "Brian" shuffling awkwardly in place, which the greenette grinned at. 'Guess I'm not the only one with confidence problems…' But then, something hit him as he kept thinking of what Arcee implied when defining "Conjunx Endura"… and it caused his to blush profusely. "W-Wait, hold on, so you're implying that you're hoping Kyoka and I become—"

"Life partners, yes."

A high-pitched scream bellowed from Izuku's lungs and he shook his hands furiously in front of him. "N-No way, hold on a second! I-I am SO not ready for that kinda commitment!"

Momo was quick to agree to that. "Yes, he's right. Marriage is most certainly NOT an option, especially not at this point."

Now it was Arcee's turn to be confused. "Marriage? That some sorta human delicacy or something?" All at once, all the teens—as well as Brian—faceplanted on the ground with an audible THUD.

Ochako and Momo were the first to get up and they led Arcee over to her alt mode, ready to depart for their internships. "W-We'll explain it all to you along the way, so c'mon, let's go!" Before climbing in, Ochako gave one last wave to Izuku, who by this point was sitting up on the ground. "Take care, Deku! We'll see ya in a week!"

"Y-Yeah, see you later…" With that, Izuku watched as Arcee drove down the street, leaving him and Bee by themselves. "Hah… so, you ready for this?"

"Zrkt—As ready as I'll ever be." the beetle confirmed, moving over and stepping into his driver's seat. Opening his passenger door, Brian jerked a thumb to the seat and called out; "Zrkt—Let's rev up—zrtk—and roll out!" As Izuku climbed in, though, Bumblebee put a hand to his chin, thinking over the line he had just patched together. 'Hm… I might just keep that…'

…..

It had taken a little over two hours, but the boys finally made it to their destination; Yamanashi Prefecture. Not too far away from Shizuoka, but also fairly close to Tokyo. Still, the city they were currently in definitely wasn't as lively as either one, especially on the street they were on. Bumblebee glanced around as he drove down the seemingly normal road, taking note of the lack of heroes out on patrol. "Zrtk—What is this? Zrtk—A ghost town…"

He had to admit to himself, Izuku didn't think that All Might's mentor would be stationed in a place like this at all. This town, by all appearances, was rather peaceful, with nary a villain in sight. "Not quite, Bee, but it's still pretty quiet…" Glancing down to his given address, Izuku pursed his lips in thought. "Still, the address says that Gran Torino's based in Yamanashi, and we're getting close…"

"Zrkt—If you say so, compadre."

"Man… a hero even All Might is afraid of." Izuku said, mostly to himself. "Gran Torino… I've never heard of him before, but he must be incredible if he taught All Might everything he knows…"

Brian nodded his head. "Zrkt—A true Jedi master."

Izuku couldn't help but stifle a laugh. "Pfft, I don't know about that. He's not Yoda or anything, Bee… though he WOULD probably be pretty old at this point, now that I think about it." The young Quirk Inheritor balled his fist in determination. "Still, I'm willing to learn anything he's willing to teach me. I'm sure his wisdom will be super amazing… oh, Bee, stop! This is the… address?"

Pulling to a halt, Bumblebee peered out of Izuku's window to see the building… and felt his jaw drop at what he saw. It was a rundown apartment building that seemed to be just barely holding together, as indicated by the caution-striped barricades set up all around it. Needless to say, Bumblebee was VERY skeptical about this place. "Zrkt—What kinda apocalyptic nightmare is THIS?!"

"W-Well, uh… m-maybe he just likes to live rustically? Hehe…" The expression that Bumblebee wore was all the answer he needed, and truth be told, Izuku didn't exactly buy his own excuse either. "O-Okay, I'll admit, this is a bit fishy, but the least we can do is try to see if anyone's home, right?"

"Zrkt—I've got a baaaad feelin' about this…"

Stepping out of the car, Izuku took a deep breath, preparing himself to enter. "Just be on your guard. First sign of trouble, you step in—WITH your holoform." Giving a single nod, Brian moved out of his driver's seat and followed Izuku to the door, where the greenette knocked a couple times. "H-Hello? I'm here from U.A. High…" He trailed off as he saw that the door was already slightly ajar, so he took a chance and opened it himself. Inside, the room was almost completely dark, save for the light coming in from the door and windows. "It's Izuku Midoriya! I'm really looking forward to…"

Within an instant, Izuku lost his voice and his eyes widened in horror. There, a bit further in, he saw someone laying in a heap on the floor; a little old man in a white and yellow hero costume. There was a shattered plate scattered in front of him and, under his body, was what appeared to bee spilt blood and entrails. Fear overtook Izuku as Bumblebee saw it too, the blonde holoform clasping his hands over his mouth in shock.

"AAAAAAAAHH!" Izuku screamed. "H-HOLY SHIT, HE'S DEAD!"

…The very second he said that, the old man's head popped up, revealing his wrinkly, domino mask-clad face. "…I'm alive." he stated.

"AAAAAAAAHH!" Izuku screamed again, with Bumblebee fainting behind him. "H-HOLY SHIT, HE'S ALIVE!"

The old man seemed unperturbed by shouting, though he was quick to reprimand Izuku with a kindly grin. "Now, now, no need to be swearin' up a storm, sonny." He reached for a nearby cane as he wiped the red stuff off his hero costume… which upon second glance, was actually ketchup. And what Izuku thought to be intestines were actually sausage links.

"S-Sorry, sir!" Izuku bowed abruptly. 'Dammit, Kyoka, you are a BAD influence on me!'

With a wave of his cane, the elderly man continued; "Though you really should watch out, Toshinori… we aren't alone."

"H-Huh? N-No, my name is Izuku Midoriy—AH!" *THWACK* From out of nowhere, a dark figure suddenly leapt out of the shadows, tackling Izuku to the ground.

"Hm? What was that?" The old man cupped a hand to his ear. "I couldn't quite hear ya, Toshinori!"

Izuku gasped at what was currently pinning him to the floor… a ninja. One dressed in all black from head to toe with the whites of their eyes and their red pupils glaring down at him being the only color he could see. This ninja was actually much shorter than him, but they made up for it in muscle mass. He could only just barely struggle underneath them, which was a clear indicator of their strength. Still, Izuku wasn't too happy that a ninja had infiltrated his new mentor's home, especially not with everything that was going on with Kyoka.

'Could this be…' There was only one way to find out. "Who are you?! Why've you come here?!"

"Wouldn't YOU like to know?" the ninja replied, obviously disguising their voice by making it low and husky. Picking themselves up off the ground, the ninja hoisted Izuku up by his collar, glowering right at him. "I should be askin' YOU that, kid!"

Reaching up, Izuku took hold of his assailant's wrist, preparing himself to use his Quirk. "I'm here for an internship! Now what do you want with Gran Torino?!"

"That's for me to know and you to never find ou—OUGH!"

'One For All, Full Cowling; 10%' His body now crackling with green energy, Izuku swung his legs out and kneed the ninja in the gut, sending them sprawling back as he landed on his feet. Hearing some light clapping, he glanced to his right and saw Gran Torino, laughing and clapping his hands as if nothing bad was happening. 'What is this guy's deal? Is he not in his right mind? Does All Might not know about—'

"THAT FREAKIN' HURT!" The ninja bellowed, charging forward to strike Izuku in the chest.

The green-haired boy let out a holler and propelled himself up to the ceiling, spinning around so that his feet landing flat. Much to his surprise, though, the ninja was right behind him, bounding up and forcing him to pump his legs and leap back down to the floor. He wasted no time in doing a slide toward the other side of the room, knowing that his pursuer would still be on his tail. The ninja landed in a crouch in front of the door and slammed it shut, cutting off his escape as well as Bumblebee. "You're not goin' anywhere after that, kid." the ninja growled.

Clenching his teeth, Izuku balled his fists, ready for an intense fight. "Why are you doing this?!"

An amused chuckle escaped the ninja as they explained; "Heh, well, guess there's no point in bein' subtle anymore. YOU'RE my target, kid." That made Izuku's eyes widen, to which the ninja cackled. "Haha, yep! Targetin' the old man was just to throw you off." The ninja clawed their hands and took a fighting stance. "Now, you're comin' with ME."

However, the ninja's words only managed to fuel Izuku's suspicions. 'This person MUST be associated with him. They must've caught wind that Kyoka told us about him.' Still, there was only one way he could know for sure. "I'll ask again; what are you doing here?! Did Snake Eyes send you?!"

"…I'm sorry, who?" the masked individual said, totally confused.

But the student's question made Gran Torino's eyes widen, his pupils now visible under his domino mask. 'What?! How in the hell does this kid know about Snake Eyes?'

"Don't play dumb with me!" Izuku burst forward in a rush of speed, which made the ninja jump away and start a chase throughout the room. "So what if Kyoka told us all about him?! She and the rest of us are just concerned about what his intentions are with our school!"

"Kid, I have NO fucking idea what the hell you're goin' on about." the ninja insisted, clinging onto the refrigerator before smirking under their mask. "But, if ya REALLY wanna know more, you're gonna have to CATCH me first! Just try landing a hit on me!" Then, all hell broke loose as the ninja began bounding every which way through the main room, hopping from the fridge, to the couch, to the ceiling, to the stairs and then back again. At one point, they even landed on the microwave… which they broke.

Izuku gasped and went to avoid all of the incoming hits… but the ninja proved to be extremely fast. He ended up getting hit at least three time in one go around, struck in his leg, shoulder and back until he was forced to kneel on the ground. The ninja continued to go all over the place, as if bouncing around was second nature to them. 'This guy's so fast, I can't get a lock on him…' Closing his eyes, Izuku tried to collect himself as best he could, focusing intensely on the fight and nothing else. 'C'mon, Optimus taught you better than this…'

Within a split second, Izuku could suddenly feel a rush of air coming up from his side, and his eyes snapped open. Arching himself back, he dodged one of the ninja's incoming blows at the last possible second, taking the dark-clad individual by surprise and making them tumble across the ground. "Heh, not bad, kid, but you'll have to do better than—"

"10% Detroit… SMAAAASH!" Punching his fist forward as hard as he could, Izuku sent a strong burst of air directly at his foe, blowing them straight back into an opposing wall and knocking the wind out of them. The ninja went to get up, but Izuku proved to be faster in that moment, slamming himself full-force into his opponent and making them gag. Taking them by the shoulders, Izuku cried out and forced them to the floor, pinning them. "Gotcha! Now, tell me why you're here! Answer me, dammit—"

"Alright, alright, kid, that's quite enough!"

*flick* Izuku was surprised when, of all people, it was Gran Torino who brought things to a halt, switching the lights on and revealing everything that had went on. Everything was a mess, the couch had been knocked over, and the microwave was unsalvageable. Still, that wasn't Izuku's main priority here. "W-What? B-But sir, this ninja—"

"Was my test for you." Gran Torino finished, leaving Izuku even more shellshocked as he took on a much gruffer, more serious tone. "She was meant to gauge your skill in sudden onset combat." He pointed down to the ninja in question. "Now, ya wanna let her up?"

"W-Wait… "her"?" Izuku's eyes drifted down… and indeed, this ninja was definitely a woman. Her dark cloths hugging her muscular yet shapely figure was more than enough evidence for that.

Putting down the façade, the woman spoke to Izuku in a softer tone, though her voice was still fairly boisterous. "Heh, you weren't half bad, kid. Maybe there's hope for ya yet…" Izuku could see her smirk before she puffed out her chest at him. "Now, you wanna get offa me or are ya gettin' comfortable down here?"

"GYAAAAAH!" With a profuse blush across his cheeks, Izuku leapt up and bowed his head in apology. "I-I'm so sorry, miss! I-I didn't think you were—"

"AHAHAHA!" The woman laughed as she performed a kip-up, getting right up in Izuku's face. "Relax, kiddo! I'm yankin' your chain!" It was only then that Izuku noticed that, despite apparently being an adult, he was actually a bit taller than her, which made it just a tad bit weirder when she reached an arm up and chopped him on the head. "Don't be so serious, or else you'll never make it as a hero."

Izuku swallowed nervously, but worked hard to keep his cool. "R-Right, of course, miss…" His sights went back to Gran Torino, still perplexed at the whole situation. "B-But I still don't quite get it. Why go through all this trouble for a test?"

Raising his thumb, Gran Torino explained; "Heh, I wanted to see first hand how well you'd handle yourself in a surprise attack, kid. Gotta get a feel on what yer reflexes are like before we start trainin' ya, after all." He scratched his bearded chin, seemingly impressed. "And while yer a bit rough around the edges, ya do have some decent moves to ya. 'Course, I could tell just by watchin' the Sports Festival that you already honed that Quirk a' yours and found a way to use it well…" He added a small wink to that, which confirmed to Izuku that he DID know about One for All. "But now, it's all a matter a' usin' that Quirk to master the next step; proper combat training! Prepare to go through hell, newbie!"

His eyebrows shooting up, Izuku recalled something that All Might said long ago during his first class with him; "Shall we get started, ya bunch a newbies?!"

'Wow, between that and playing dumb before, they actually share a bunch of mannerisms. He really IS All Might's teacher.' Izuku concluded. '…Though he seems to be a bit unorthodox in his methods, I'll admit that getting surprise attacked like that did really get me on my toes…' Pushing those thoughts aside for now, Izuku stood at attention before bowing graciously. "Sir! I'd appreciate any help you can give me in honing my fighting techniques, sir!"

Gran Torino nodded up to him. "Good, that's exactly what I wanna hear. Now, let's check up on your friend…" Hobbling over to the front door, Torino reached up to the knob and pulled it open… where he saw an unconscious Brian still splayed out on his front step. After staring at him for five straight seconds, the elderly hero… began poking Brian in the head with his cane. "Hey, kid. You awake?"

Almost instantly, Brian's eyes flew open and he jumped up to his feet, taking a combat stance when he saw the ninja girl. "Woah, woah, Brian, it's okay!" Izuku insisted, rushing over and bringing his arms down. "Everything was staged! A test by Gran Torino. She's a good guy."

Hearing this, Brian tilted his head suspiciously, only for both Torino and the ninja girl to nod back to him. "Yep, we're all friends here, kid." Torino affirmed. "Though I've gotta say, pretty sure I wasn't takin' on TWO students here."

"Oh, he's not a student." Izuku elaborated. "Brian's just my ride here. He's a good friend of mine."

The ninja woman placed her hands on her hips, leaning toward Brian to inspect him. "Hm… that so?" After a few moments, her gaze became much friendlier and she waved at him. "Well, if that's the case, then hope to see ya around, Bri!"

After Brian waved back sheepishly, Gran Torino grew serious once again, eyeing Izuku. "By the way, kid… how in the world do YOU know about Snake Eyes?" Seeing him flinch, Torino had the sneaking suspicion that the kid WASN'T supposed to know. "Yer lookin' awfully guilty, kid. Care to explain?"

"…W-Well, you see…" It took a few minutes, but Izuku explained the gist of Kyoka's mission to Gran Torino, whilst leaving out the involvement of the Autobots, of course. "And that's basically what's going on. I've gotta say, though, I'm surprised that YOU know Snake Eyes, sir."

"Hmph, not personally." Gran Torino shook his head, pointing to himself with his thumb. "But I've been 'round the block long enough to catch wind of certain things, an' Snake Eyes is one of 'em." All the same, he grinned and gave a slight snicker. "Heh, though I will say that this whole mission ya planned out probably won't be necessary in the end. Snake might be mysterious an' all that, but he's all hero. It's just part of his job description to keep himself secretive."

"R-Really? Then why'd he reach out to Kyoka?"

Once again, Torino brushed his beard with his hand in thought. "Probably because he saw genuine potential in your friend. He's always on the lookout for latent talent, and from what I saw from the Sports Festival, yer girlfriend's got it."

And just like that, Izuku's complexion was red as a beat again. "Sh-She's not my—"

"Ah, whatever." Torino waved off. "Point is, ya don't got anything to worry about, kiddo. Your friend's gonna be fine." His smirk increased as he pointed up to him. "But what YOU should be really worried about it how you'll survive this full week a' training! Hehe…"

The ninja woman crossed her arms and balking at Izuku. "Mph, you're telling me, Gramps. Goin' off his performance at the Sports Festival, he's definitely gonna need it."

Izuku did a double take a that. "H-Huh?"

"You heard me, kid." She counted off on her fingers as she continued; "One, your arms are like noodles, so they break easily. Ya gotta break that habit of relying on them or else you'll never last long in a fight."

"H-Hey! That's—" Izuku wanted to argue, but was quickly cut off.

"Two, your movements are good, but they can be MUCH better." she went on. "It's like you're not confident in the moves your body makes, so we're gonna have to punch THAT outta ya as well."

At that point, Izuku was starting to get really annoyed. "Hey, I know I'm not exactly the most experienced when it comes to hand-to-hand combat, but isn't it a bit counterproductive to browbeat someone like this?"

Much to his surprise, though, Torino simply chuckled at that. "Hehe, just as abrasive as ever, I see." He walked up next to his newer student and wacked him in the behind with his cane. "You'll have to get used to her, kid. Trust me, she's got a stubborn streak to her, even after I saved her cottontail." Seeing how confused Izuku was, the old man eyed the woman, putting on a knowing smirk. "On that note, I think it's time for a proper introduction, don't you think?"

"Sure do, Gramps." The woman reached up to undo her mask, all while still speaking to Izuku. "Givin' ya fair warning, kid; I don't exactly play well with others. But seein' your performance at the Sports Festival, I knew I had to do SOMETHIN' to make ya get good. That and I owe Gramps a favor, so it's a win-win."

His annoyance with her spiking, Izuku was about to channel his inner Kyoka and tell her off… but then he saw her face revealed, and instead his voice was lost in his throat, watching as her bleach-white tresses fell over her shoulders. Her stark white hair contrasted greatly against her dark skin, framing her beautiful visage and accentuating her bright, red eyes. And then, the rest of her hood came off… allowing a pair of long, springy rabbit ears to pop up. The woman smirked when she saw Izuku's expression, knowing that her reveal was a success. "So, surprised?"

"Y-Y-Y-You're… you're… that hero!" Izuku managed to get out. "The one who works solo because she believes having teammates makes you weak! The one who leaps into action without fear! The hero who's a strong contender to make the Top Ten by the end of this year!" Finally, Izuku managed to get her name out; "You're the Rabbit Hero! MIRKO!"

Her toothy grin widening, Mirko scoffed and nodded. "Hmph! That's right, kid! But please, call me either Rumi or Coach Usagiyama, because this week, I'm gonna drill ya HARD. Now, I suggest you get yourself ready.

"R-R-Ready for wha—"

"TRAINING BEGINS NOW!"

*WHAP* "AUGH!" Izuku fell to the floor after Mirko practically smashed him across the neck, his eyes rolling back into his head as Brian and Gran Torino stepped back at the unexpected move.

"…You weren't ready."

…..

Eight hours. Eight LONG-ASS hours of nothing but riding on that bullet train. Of course, it was no surprised that Aizawa had asked them all to meet up at four o'clock in the morning, but if she were being honest with herself, Kyoka felt that was more for her sake than anyone else's. Now, it was around noon time, and she had made it to her ferry that would take her to the small island just off the coast of Hokkaido, where her internship would take place.

'Yeah, so far outta the way from the mainland in the coldest part of Japan?' the punk rocker grimaced and shivered as she thought to herself. 'Yeah, these people HAVE to be hiding something big. If they're not villains, they gotta be part of SOME secret organization…' Just then, she felt something drape over her shoulders, making her gasp and spin around with her jacks raised to stab the eyes of whoever touched her.

"Woah, woah, WOAH! Relajate, mija, no need for alarm!"

Kyoka went at ease a little when she saw that it was actually the boat captain, probably the most harmless man she had ever seen. Granted, she literally only knew him for a few minutes, but from all appearance, he didn't seem too threatening aside from him being well-built. Oddly enough, he was also Latin-American, which the 1-A student wasn't expecting. He had dark brown hair that was nestled under a white sailor's cap, and extended down his face into a beard-mustache combo. He was donned in a blue, button-up shirt with red markings on the shoulders and sleeves rolled up to his elbows—revealing an anchor tattoo on his right arm—as well as a pair of jeans with brown boots.

Heck, even his Quirk didn't seem threatening. He had gills on his neck and his fingers were webbed, indicating that he could breathe and swim underwater very well. Overall, he seemed rather out of place in Japanese waters, but Kyoka wasn't too bothered by that. After all, he likely wasn't the strangest thing she'd see today. "Oh, i-it's just you. Sorry."

"Heh, no, I probably should be the one apologizing, mija." The man took off his cap and scratched his head guiltily. "I should've given you proper warning. But you seemed so cold that I felt obliged to give that to you."

"Hm?" Kyoka peered down to her body and saw that he had actually put a rather thick sailor's coat over her shoulders, one lined with thick cotton that was rather comfy. She also saw that it had his nametag on it as well. "O-Oh… thank you, Captain Delgado, I—"

But the sailor raised his hand. "Please, call me Hector. I don't really care for formalities on my vessel." Lifting his other hand, he revealed to her a cup of hot cocoa, which he offered up instantly. "Here, something to warm you up and give you a bit of energy. I'm sure you're pretty exhausted after such a long journey."

Once again, Kyoka was left quite surprised, but she wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. "O-Oh, thank you… Hector." As much as she wanted to wince at calling an adult by their first name, she simply took the cocoa and sipped it slowly, feeling her insides start to warm right up. "Mmm, this is pretty good. Thanks."

"Ah, de nada." Hector waved off as he turned out toward the sea. More specifically, he was eyeing their nearing destination. "So, what brings you all the way out here? Not too many people visit this island, you know."

Kyoka spotted the island closing in from the distance as well, furrowing her brows at it. "My U.A. internship is out on that island. It's pretty out of the way, I know, but—"

"Oh, you're a U.A. student?" the man's eyes seemed to shine bright as he gazed upon her, and he recognized her upon recalling a certain recent event. "Oh, si, si! You were in the Sports Festival! One of the MVPs in the first two rounds, if I remember right."

A small blush came to Kyoka's cheeks as she gave a curt nod. "Y-Yeah. Kyoka Jiro…"

Hector clapped his hands together exuberantly. "Haha, yes, I knew it! You and that Izuku kid were quite the team!"

"Th-Thank you." Kyoka smiled sheepishly.

However, it was then that Hector got back on track. "Wait, so… you're saying that your internship is on THAT island?"

"Yeah, you know anything about it?" the Earphone Jack user asked hopefully. "O-Or do you know the people who own it?"

"Eh… you could say that." Hector shrugged as the boat grew closer to the shoreline… and didn't show signs of slowing down. "I've known the people on this island for MANY years, in fact. Kinda… mysterious bunch of people, I can say that with certainty. Don't really leave here too much unless they need to."

Pursing her lips, Kyoka hummed and lowered her head a bit. "I see. I'll keep that in mi—wait." Her eyes widened suddenly when they started to approach the dock, only the ferry was still going at its normal pace. "Why aren't we slowing down? Who's steering this ship?!"

"Hah, that should be obvious." Hector jerked a thumb to himself. "I am!" If Kyoka's eyes could bug out of her head, they would've in that moment, and it didn't take long for the captain to realize the error in his words. "…Wait."

"DON'T WAIT!" Kyoka screamed, kicking the man into high gear. "Stop this freight before we beach it!"

Scrambling up the steps, Hector called out; "D-Don't worry, mija, everything's under control!" After reaching the main control room, the ship captain pulled back on the throttle and the ferry immediately began slowing to a crawl… leaving them only mere inches away from the beach. Thankfully, they were still close enough to the dock for the exit ramp to go down safely, which made Hector sigh in relief. "Hah, see? Nothing to worry about!"

Kyoka practically scrambled to take off Hector's jacket and grab her briefcase, wanting off the vessel as soon as possible. "Yeah, sure, just as soon as I get off this freaking tub!" The steps lowered for her and Kyoka wasted little time jogging down them, falling to her knees the moment she stepped onto the dock. "Hah… hah… sweet, sweet dry land." She peered back up to Hector and raised a hand to him. "A-Anyway, thanks for the lift, captain. I'll see ya around."

"Wait, chica! Don't go without this!" From the control room, Hector tossed down a large, bulky walkie talkie with a long antenna, which Kyoka caught clumsily in her hands. "Cell signals are pretty crappy out here, so if ya need to get off the island for any reason, contact me with that, que pasa?"

That made the purplette blink in surprise. 'No cell signal, huh? Great, that means I can't call Izuku or anyone else either…' Still, she put that in the back of her mind. She still had ONE way of getting a signal out if she needed it. "Thanks for letting me know, Hector!"

"No problem!" he replied with a wink. "And just remember; knowing is half the battle!"

"…Uh, sure?" Kyoka wasn't sure what to make of that cheesy "wisdom" aside from it sounding like ti came out of a Saturday morning cartoon. Still, with that in mind, she took a deep breath and proceeded forward, seeing a Japanese-styled palace towering above the thick forest surrounding it. 'Alright, I made it… now to bring in the cavalry.' Pressing on the tracking device hidden in her jacket, Kyoka sent out the signal, hoping it would reach Autobot HQ.

Meanwhile, Hector Delgado sat down in his seat, kicking his heels up on the console as he let out an apprehensive breath. "Hah… Snake, just go easy on her." Tipping his sailor cap over his eyes, it wasn't long until Delgado was in a peaceful slumber, snoring all the way.

…..

Back on the mainland, the Autobot headquarters had indeed received Kyoka's signal, and that was Jazz's cue to get ready. With the first lieutenant already in his camo paintjob and transformed into vehicle mode, he gave Red Alert the okay. "Alright, Red, let's get down to it!" With a simple nod, Red Alert programmed the coordinates of the island into the GroundBridge computer. Not exactly where Kyoka was, of course, but in the same general vicinity. With a pull of a switch, the portal was opened and Jazz started through, making sure his engine was super quiet. "Wish me luck."

"Indeed. Safe travels, soldier." Red dispatched before Jazz disappeared, allowing the GroundBridge to close.

Optimus, with Roller perched on his shoulder, placed his hands on his hips and lowered his head. "Now, there is nothing more we can do but wait for a report."

"Hm, this is quite the gamble we're taking, Prime." the medic hummed. "You're certain that they'll be alright?"

Giving an affirming nod, Optimus reasoned; "Jazz's infiltration missions have almost always been successful. Rarely does he have any mishaps, and when he does, he always makes certain that his teams made it out safe." His gaze shifting back to the map on screen, Prime made his conclusion. "I trust he will do the same here. Jazz and Kyoka are a firm team, Red Alert. We must have faith in them."

Red Alert approached Optimus, standing by his side. "It's not that I don't have faith in them, Prime, but—" *beep-beep-beep* "Hm?" All of a sudden, the map was replaced with a large triangle with an exclamation point in the middle, signaling an incoming transmission. "…It's Agent Fowler."

"Put him through." Optimus declared, to which his medic followed through.

Within moments, they saw Fowler's face on the screen, and he seemed to be in a good mood. "Ah, Prime, just the bot I was hopin' to get. I've got somethin' important I wanna tell you, right here, right no—" However, the government agent stopped short, realizing he should rephrase that. "Er, well, I guess not RIGHT here. I-I need the GroundBridge open so I can come through is what I'm tryin' to say."

"Agent Fowler, I hear you loud and clear. However, we are in the middle of a critical operation." Optimus explained. "One involving a mysterious force that we are investigating covertly."

"That so? Well, I've got someone I wanna introduce you to, and lemme tell ya, this man is great when it comes to pullin' off covert ops. By the way, is Springer there?"

Red Alert peered over his shoulder. "He should be. He rarely leaves the base."

"Well get him an' open the portal for me. This meeting's extremely important."

Sharing a glance, Optimus and Red Alert both shrugged and the Prime accepted. "Very well, Agent Fowler. We will have you through in just a moment…" After programming in Fowler's location, Red Alert reactivated the GroundBridge and, within a few short minutes, Fowler came through, where he was met with Optimus coming in with Springer in tow.

"Yo, Fowler!" Springer saluted. "Ya said you wanted to introduce us to someone?"

With a strong grin, Fowler pointed toward the Wrecker. "Exactly right, soldier. Remember when you first came to Earth when we said we'd pass you off as a new vehicle from Sector Seven's M.A.S.K. division?"

"Eh, yeah. Vaguely." Springer gave a so-so hand gesture. "Though I haven't had to really go out in public much at all, really."

Fowler pointed up to him with confidence in his voice. "Well, startin' now, that's all gonna change. C'mon through, agent! Lemme introduce ya."

At his cue, someone else came walking through the GroundBridge, garnering the Autobots' attention. There, standing on the platform approaching Fowler, was a young Caucasian man who seemed to be in his late twenties or early thirties, with long, wavy blonde hair. For a government agent, however, he was dressed rather causally; donned in a button-up red jacket with a white t-shirt underneath, along with blue jeans and brown boots.

However, it was his eyes that caught the bots' attention most. They were a variable spectrum of colors, mainly yellow blue and red with a small blending of green, purple and orange in between. These colorful eyes were wide in amazement as he gazed upon the Autobots for the first time, and he let out a breathy laugh. "Hah… haha… oh my god." Running a hand through his golden locks, the man took a step back in astonishment. "Haha! Bill, you seriously weren't kidding when you described these guys as spectacular!"

"Heh, told ya, hot shot." Fowler pat the man on the shoulder before making introductions. "Autobots, I'd like you all to meet the head of the M.A.S.K. division; genius engineer Matthew Trakker."

Optimus stepped forward first, his intrigued piqued as he knelt before Matthew and extended a finger to him. "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Agent Trakker. My name is Optimus Prime, and on behalf of the Autobots, we look forward to working with you."

"Haha, please, call me Matt." Trakker insisted as he reached out and shook the Prime's hand. "Or "Spectrum" if we're out in the field. But holy wow, you bots are incredible!" His multi-colored eyes shifted focus over to Springer next. "But I hear YOU'RE the one who's gonna be working with our group going forward. The Triple Shifter, right?"

Springer chuckled at that. "Hehe, that's Triple Changer, kid. Check it. One…" Whrr-tschzz-tschzz-tschzz-ckt! With a perfect backflip, Springer changed into his armored car mode, taking Trakker aback. "Two…" Whrr-tschzz-tschzz-tschzz-ckt! And then, with a few shifting parts, the Wrecker entered his copter mode, making Matt break out into a huge grin. "And a-three! No applause, please, your amazement is more than enough."

"Woah… hah, yeah, you'd make a GREAT addition to our team." Trakker approved. "That is, if you want to work with us."

Whrr-tschzz-tschzz-tschzz-ckt! Entering robot mode again, Springer crossed his arms. "Depends, do you guys blow things up often?"

"Eh, sometimes." Matt shrugged. "Other times we like running villains down an' tearin' up their escape vehicles."

Springer bent down and offered his fist. "You had me at "tearing". I think we're gonna understand each other pretty well, Mr. Trakker."

Matt brightened up considerably at that and returned the fistbump. "Haha, great! I was hoping we would." Extending his arms up, he addressed the other Autobots. "Though if we wanna get technical, ALL of you would fit in pretty well in M.A.S.K. After all, our whole thing is using vehicles that're armed to the teeth!"

"Ahem, while I appreciate your offer, Agent Trakker, I believe that would be something only a certain few of us would be good at." Optimus said bluntly.

"Indeed, and besides, we're quite busy with our own mission already." Red Alert added as he gave a pointed glare to the Triple Changer. "And unlike someone, we don't need a cover story just because we can't pick an alt mode." Springer scowled back at him with his nose upturned.

The M.A.S.K. leader gave a simple shrug. "Ah well, can't blame a guy for tryin'. By the way, I heard you guys were currently conducting a little sting operation?"

"Yeah, I was just about to ask the same thing, Prime." Fowler echoed. "Just what DID we miss?"

Going back to the main console, Optimus pulled the map of the island back up, explaining to the two agents. "Well, to put it simply, we are investigating a mysterious hero agency, one shrouded in secrets and uncertainty." He looked back to Agent Fowler, whose expression changed from curious to concerned. "You see, Kyoka received a very strange offer from a hero whom very few know about, and those that do only know very little to nothing. She and Jazz are currently undercover investigating this agency now."

"…I see." With his brow furrowed, Fowler hesitantly inquired; "And just who IS this "hero"?"

"They go by the name… Snake Eyes."

And just like that, something snapped, and Fowler's eyes grew wide. "SNAKE EYES?!" He whipped his head straight up to Optimus incredulously. "You're sayin' that Jiro got an offer to intern under goddamn SNAKE EYES?!"

Prime, Red Alert and Springer were NOT expecting that reaction, to say the least. "Er… yes. Do you know who they are?"

"HA! Know him?! I've WORKED with him!" Fowler shouted angrily. "Prime, the FIRST thing you should do in these kinda situations is CALL me! I work WITH the government and know a lot of things most people don't, remember?!" He placed a hand over his chest. "I could've cleared up this whole mystery straight from the get-go! Why didn't you tell me?!"

"…You have been busy for the past two weeks." Optimus replied. "We… felt it best not to bother you as you already have enough tasks to shoulder as it is."

Agent Fowler raised a stern finger. "That is… actually very considerate, thank you." He shook his head to get back on track. "B-But that's not important! What IS important is getting this whole mess straightened out. We need to call Jiro and Jazz an' tell them this is all a big misunderstanding!"

Red Alert went over to the console and activated the commlink. "Way ahead of you. Jazz, come in. Do you read?"

"Uh, yeah, Red." Jazz answered with a shaky tone. "I read ya, but… now's not exactly the best time."

"What? Why not?"

"…Seems they were expectin' me, man. I'm surrounded by ninjas."

Fowler facepalmed in frustration. "Oh, god damn it."

…..

It only took a short hike for Kyoka to make it to the palace, and the first thing she took note of was how extravagant the place was just from the outside alone. "Well, if this is really where the Snake Eyes' Hero Agency is, they sure know how to pick 'em." Her eye was also drawn to the door in particular, which had a rather large symbol painted across the front; six red lines going horizontally on top of one another, with every other line having a divide down the middle. "Why does this symbol seem familiar, though? …Eh, probably just my imagination. Okay… here we go."

Mustering up her courage, Kyoka reached up and use the heavy knocker, knocking thrice on the thick, wooden door. "Hello?! It's Kyoka Jiro! I'm here for my—" *creeeeakk* "Ah!" The young girl gasped and pulled her arm back as the door groaned open slowly, revealing nothing but darkness on the other side. Hesitantly, she peered into the building and, sure enough, the room was almost entirely pitch black. "…Internship?"

Kyoka took a deep breath, debating her next move. 'Unfortunately, I think the only one is to go in and investigate.' Slowly, she proceeded forward, the light from the afternoon sun being her only form of navigation… that is until…

*BOOM*

"EEYIPE!" the punk rocker nearly leapt out of her own skin as the door slammed shut, leaving her with nearly no light. The only exception was—oddly enough—coming from a tiny hole shining down from the room's ceiling, giving her just the tiniest bit of light, but nothing more. "Gaugh, great! Just great! Now where the hell do I go?!" Kyoka narrowed her eyes to the hole, thinking to herself; 'Maybe I can reach my jacks up there and see where it leads?' With that being her only idea at the moment, she moved closer to the center of the room… unaware that something had just fallen from the ceiling, landing silently behind her.

…At least, for a couple seconds. Kyoka perked her head up when the sound of near-silent shuffling reached her ears, and her eyes darted around the room. Of course, she couldn't see anything, but at the same time, she was certain that there was something in here with her. '…Or someone.'

*shink-shink-shink*

Kyoka sucked in a breath as, from the darkness, she could hear something sharp and metal being pulled out from somewhere, and her thoughts were confirmed when she saw several star-shaped flashes flying out at her thanks to what little light there was. She weaved her head away from one and, using her jacks, grabbed hold of the other two, finding them to be small and with holes in the middle.

'Shurikens?!' Gritting her teeth, Kyoka called out into the room; "Who's there?! Come out and show yourself!" She got her wish, but not in the way she was expecting…

*sssshhhink*

This time, the sound came from behind her again, only this time from a different direction. 'They moved?! How'd they do that so fast?!' Kyoka spun around and was met with another metallic flash, only this time it was long and narrow. 'A sword!' Bringing up the briefcase containing her hero costume, Kyoka acted quickly and bashed the blade away. Swinging back around, she then flung it straight in the same direction, and with a loud, clattering sound, she was sure he had hit her assailant. Then, as fast as she could, she ran away, dashing toward the opposite end of the room.

'Aizawa's gonna kill me for losing my costume, but it's better than freaking DYING!'

*thook-thook-thook-thook-thook-thook*

Unfortunately, she quickly found out that her pursuer hadn't given up yet, their feet hitting the floorboards rapidly as they chased her down. Out the corner of her eye, she could see the blade flashing once again… and that's when Kyoka got an idea. She dropped her bag and took off her school blazer, flinging it off to the side…

*rrrrrip*

With a victorious smirk, Kyoka knew that her attacker had just sliced into her school coat. Thankfully, those were more easily replaceable… even if Aizawa would still probably be mad. Just then… *cli-click* Kyoka's head perked up at the sound of a knob turning, her head whipping directly to her right and seeing a small crack of light. "Haha! Yes! I'm outta—woah!"

*shoom-shoom-shoom*

At the last possible second, Kyoka ducked under a few more shuriken that had been thrown her way and she made a leap for the door, flinging it open and then slamming it right as a few more clattered into it. "Hah… hah… hah… I-I'm… I'm alive!"

"Indeed, you are." Yet another gasp escaped Kyoka's throat and she snapped her head up, only to be met with a certain red-clad ninja smiling down at her. "And in doing so, you have passed the first trial." Jinx nodded. "Congratulations, Kyoka."

All of the relief that Kyoka had in her gave way to rage as she sprung up to her feet and got right up close to Jinx. "YOU! Trial?! What?!"

"None of those were complete sentences."

"Well, I'm sorry, but I can't exactly THINK straight after nearly DYING in a pitch-black room! And you're saying that it was SUPPOSED to happen?! As a test?!" Kyoka firmly planted her hands on her hips. "Do you treat all of your interns like this? Because if so, I can see why no one has wanted to come here."

With a short chuckle, Jinx shook her head at the accusation. "Hmhm, Kyoka, you must relax. You were never in any REAL danger to begin with." She saw the punk girl furrow her brow as she walked past her, going to open the door. "Here, I'll show you." Jinx got a bit of amusement when she saw Kyoka flinch as the door opened, but then, the student's eyes widened when she saw the shuriken on the floor.

They weren't sharp in the least and were lined with rubber along the edges. And, rather than being pointed stars, they more resembled Sakura flowers. Jinx picked one up off the floor and presented it to her. "You see? Completely non-life-threatening. The most this could do is give you a nasty bruise."

"B-B-But… w-what about the sword?"

Reaching out toward the dark room, Jinx opened her hand and caught the sword in question… or rather, the STICK in question. "Just a simple wooden practice blade with reflective tape. Again, most it would give you is a bruise."

"…Then how'd it rip my jacket?" As if in response, Kyoka's school blazer was tossed at her and she caught it with a yelp, where she saw that it was indeed ripped.

"You would be surprised what my master can do with a wooden sword." Jinx answered. "Don't worry, we'll fix it for you."

Kyoka pursed her lips and let her jacket fall to the floor. "Eh, don't worry about it. The school wouldn't accept it like that anyway." However, Kyoka's brows sprung up once more when she realized what Jinx said. "W-Wait… you're telling me that… my first test was—"

"Out running and escaping my master, yes." Jinx confirmed. "And, on that note…" Waving her hand to the doorway, Jinx bowed her head as a figure emerged from the room, appearing as if he were taking form from the shadows themselves.

He was a tall man of about six feet, though he wasn't big or burly in the least. Instead, he form was lean and well-built with broad shoulders. He was covered from head to toe in thick, black body armor that left no skin exposed in the least, not even where his boots, gloves or helmet were concerned. Across his waist, he wore a black utility belt with several pouches, and strapped to his back was an empty sword sheath that no doubt had to be the home of a katana blade. He also had a couple extra blades stored on his left thigh, with his right thigh having a holster with an Uzi in it. And, on each of his shoulder pads, he wore the same red symbol that Kyoka had seen on the door, which only intrigued her more. His helmet was perfectly molded to his head, and while it didn't have any visible facial features, it did have one thing; a V-shaped visor that sloped forward near the bridge of his nose, with four ridges that swept horizontally across to and from each side. Needless to say, Kyoka was enthralled by how cool this man looked, and when Jinx spoke his name, the punk rocker knew that he WAS cool enough to use that name.

"Kyoka Jiro… meet Snake Eyes."

…..

A/N: And there he is, people! Snake Eyes, in the black-suited flesh! Man, it feels good to FINALLY get him in this story, you have no idea. And let me just say, I've got big plans for his involvement (as well as that of a certain special mission force) in the story for the future. Just you wait, Kyoka's gonna have one HELL of a time interning at his agency… provided this whole mix-up with the infiltration gets cleared up. In hindsight, the Bots really COULD'VE asked Fowler, but of course, the man's busy and we all know how he gets when he's bothered. Also, yes, his agency IS repurposed from one of the Arashikage's old places.

On that note, we've got a LOT of character introductions in this chapter, so let's go through them one by one, shall we? First off, Gran Torino! He honestly needs no introduction at this point for any of you who've watched the show or read the manga, but he's pretty much the same character here as he is there… though admittedly, the meeting between him and Izuku went a LOT differently than it did in the original story. With Izuku having gotten a hang on Full Cowling at this point, it's only natural that Torino's gonna want to focus more on combat training, given that Izuku still has yet to get a technique down…

And that's where his hired help comes into play! I've heard you guys, you know. Many of you have wanted to see her come into the story early, and honestly, I also wanted to find a way to work her in, so I figured; "Hey, why not sneak her in THIS way?" So, here she is! Mirko in all of her bunny-eared, muscular glory! And honestly, given her fighting style, I think in the long run, she'd be a great teacher for Izuku… at least, under the right circumstances. Her lack of incentive to work with others WILL prove to be a source of frustration in this scenario, that's for sure. Here's hoping Izuku can maybe break down Mirko's barriers a bit…

Lastly are two characters that I KNOW no one here was expecting! Let's start with one Matt "Spectrum" Trakker, the leader of Sector Seven's M.A.S.K. division. Ever since deciding that Springer would "work" as a part of M.A.S.K. under the guise of a new advanced war vehicle, I've been wanting to introduce Trakker, and he WILL have a part to play in the story once we get to the Hosu incident itself.

And of course, saving the best for last… Mr. Hector Delgado. For you Joe fans, you know EXACTLY who this knucklehead is. I couldn't help but give him a cameo here, because, as you can probably figure, he'll also play a part in the Internships Arc. Let's just hope he doesn't… WRECK his SHIP before he comes back into play, hehe. But, with all that said…

Here's the Preview; Kyoka FINALLY meets Snake Eyes in person, but things start going south when the other ninjas under his agency's banner report in that they found Jazz. Can Fowler and Prime bridge to the island in time to clear things up, or will things go belly-up before then? But as all that goes on, let's see how the OTHERS end up doing when they get to their internships, eh? After all, we can't let Izuku and Kyoka have ALL the fun, can we? Next Time; Welcome to Ninja School. Thanks for reading everyone, and I'll catch you all next time. Stay safe out there, and remember;

GO BEYOND! PLUS ULTRA!
