Hey everyone! I was super close to finishing this chapter last Tuesday, but then life decided to throw a curveball at me. Anyway, enough about my life's drama. Let's dive back into the story and enjoy!
DISCLAIMER. I made a collage of Kat Graham from different ages that I got from google. I don't own TVD or the pics, only the idea to do this. This is only for display.
PRESENT AGES: Bonnie, Tyler & Matt - 8 ; Elena & Caroline - 9 ; Vicki -10 ; Jeremy - 7
A day later, the entire town was buzzing with talk about the fire at the Gilbert's clinic. Me? I'm just going about my business, sitting at the park with my makeshift friends, ignoring Elena's annoying presence. I'm pretending like I couldn't care less about it. I mean, come on, I'm just an 8-year-old. No need for me to get all worked up about grown-up stuff like that.
Another playdate in the park on a weekend, with the parents busy with their work. They're currently helping the Gilberts, either offering support or just indulging in gossip, while the kids are immersed in their imaginative games. I'm pretending to be the queen, sitting with my friends, Caroline and Vicki, who are acting as princesses while the boys play as knights. Elena is there, attempting to take charge and suggesting a different game, but I ignore her. The others can't tolerate her bossy demands and whining either, so they ignore her as well. They're content with the game we're playing. Hmm... I think Elena got tired of being ignored, so she decided to join the other kids in the park. After all, this town isn't short on kids.
Now, back to a much more important matter – considering I'm an adult trapped in a kid's body and all – I needed to keep an eye on what the cops had found out. Thanks to Caroline, our budding gossip collector and informant, the local gossip came pouring in. Her mom, the sheriff, believed it was a botched drug heist. It seemed the culprits found themselves in a fiery predicament during the act. One of their gadgets went haywire, and, boom! Up in flames, they went.
Can you believe the police in our town? What a solid cover-up job they did! Yeah, I'm totally being sarcastic here. But hey, it worked out for me. As far as the cops are concerned, the case is closed. Of course, they might've noticed the missing blood bags and the drained bodies, so they might have an inkling about some vampire activity. The council might be on their toes, but they're not taking action, considering there haven't been any 'animal attacks.' They might just chalk it up to a vampire passing through, having a lucky run-in with those two robbers while stocking up on some blood bags.
Anyway, I'm done speculating about what they're thinking, though. Let's move on from this incident. After all, it'll be old news in a few days. Mission success, and on to the next one!
Next up on my to-do list was making sure Liz Forbes took responsibility for the Donovan siblings and helped them escape their irresponsible mother, a plan I'd set in motion years ago. I subtly hinted to Caroline about the Donovan siblings' neglect by their mother and how it could ruin their future due to bad influences. This prompted Caroline to pester and inform her mother about the situation. The sheriff's curiosity was piqued, and she launched a full investigation, ultimately taking custody of the siblings and becoming their guardian. Kelly, the siblings' mother, was more than happy to be rid of her kids, which only solidified Liz's negative opinion of her.
A positive outcome of this was that Vicki started to act less like her mother, Kelly, and more like Liz. It seemed the sheriff's influence had a positive effect on the girl, which is likely why we got along now. As an added bonus, Matt and Caroline grew much closer than before. Caroline managed to open Matt's eyes to Elena's true personality earlier, keeping the doppelganger away from him and boosting Caroline's confidence. Another item checked off my to-do list.
When I started playing more with my friends years ago, I also started subtly introducing some anger management methods with them. This not only helped Tyler with his future anger issues but will also help other kids when something stresses them out or anger them.
I also got the boys, Tyler, Matt, and Jeremy, to hang out more often, just like I did with the girls. I know, I previously mentioned Jeremy and Tyler, but let's not forget Matt. The more, the merrier, right? After all, they say the more friends, the better the emotional support. Well, maybe that's not the exact saying, but it works. By bringing them together, it's like hitting multiple targets with one shot, a real "two birds with one stone" situation, only multiplied.
Oh, and speaking of that, I'd frequently pop over to Tyler's place. It not only kept the Mayor on his best behavior, but it also gave me the perfect excuse to chat about Mystic Falls history and Founding family lore. I made it seem like I was just a history nerd, you know? Mason Lockwood got the brunt of my enthusiasm. I'd bug him about it almost every other day, and you won't believe how thrilled I was when I spotted him delving into one of his ancestor's journals one day. My plan is to keep at it until he dives into his family history for his own sake, especially when he stumbles upon those hereditary werewolf genes in their blood. Fingers crossed he'll discuss it with the rest of the Lockwood clan, so Tyler and the Mayor get clued into their impending dilemma. Plus, Mason will be super cautious about who he befriends if he ever finds out about vampires, especially sly Katherine.
I'm steadily working on guiding Caroline, and it's making good progress. That act I put on years ago has already made Caroline wary of Elena. She's developing a natural dislike for the doppelganger, which secretly pleases me. Now, Caroline's personality will likely end up like it is in the show, particularly her vampire self, free from Elena's negative influence.
Another thing on my to-do list: deal with the Wickery Bridge deed, make sure it goes up in flames, and stash six stakes where no one can see them. This way, we don't tempt fate by growing another white oak tree somewhere, and we keep the Gilbert parents out of any potential demise. I know I've said that the Gilberts' fate might be sealed because of the show's beginning, but hey, a little optimism never hurt anyone, right?
Oh boy, this list is getting longer and longer! But hey, I've managed to tick off a few, and some are still a work in progress. Now, it's time to focus on surviving the rollercoaster of puberty and all that teenage drama. Let's enjoy the calm before the storm, shall we?
Let's wrap up this part of the list with a bang – the burning of the Wickery Bridge. It's a pretty straightforward task that'll definitely keep the cops and council on their toes. Entertainment value? Check. Now, all I need is another vampire to help me out with this. I wonder if Enzo's still around. Time to give my telepathy a whirl.
I glanced around the playground, making sure Elena was occupied with her usual Elena antics among kids who weren't us. She swiftly excused herself from her friends, citing the need for a bathroom break due to "girl business." Naturally, her friends obliged. After all, no kid wanted to experience the embarrassment of having an accident in their pants.
I strolled toward the direction of the bathroom and settled on the bench just outside it. Ensuring I was alone, I cast a form of notice-me-not spell, inspired by the Harry Potter universe. Then, I closed my eyes and concentrated on Enzo's image.
"Enzo...Enzo, are you there?" I began telepathically, "If you can hear me, please answer." Telepathy had its limitations, with a certain range to reach others, and since my range was confined to Mystic Falls, I hoped I could reach him. "Are you still here in Mystic Falls?" I continued patiently.
After a brief pause, silence was my only companion. Just as I considered ending the attempt, his voice broke the quiet.
"Ah, it's my little savior. I thought I was hearing things as side effects to...you know...," he replied with a hint of amusement in his voice. "Another one of your powers, I presume. To answer your question, I was about to leave, you know. I just went on a little shopping spree first." Enzo continued with a chuckle, "Now, what can I do for you, my little savior?"
Ah, what a pain. I'm not a savior. I need to cut that image off from me and tear it into pieces. The shopping spree, though, I think I'll hear about that later.
"Stop with that savior business," I began firmly. I didn't want that label attached to me, only to later become the canonical Bonnie. No way! "I freed you because I saw you, and I wanted to. Chaos for everyone involved, further ensuring the success of the goals I've set."
"What goals? Chaos?" Enzo asked, his curiosity piqued. "Where are you, by the way?"
Enzo seemed eager to hear more, but first, I said, "I'm at the park by the bathroom bench." Not long after I said that, I saw him zipping towards me and looking around.
I giggled amusedly and then telepathically called, "I'm in front of you." I canceled the spell that concealed me. It seemed to surprise him.
Enzo sported a smirk after he got over his little surprise. "You, my little witch," he began, and I couldn't help but notice the change in the nickname, 'witch' sounded alright, but that 'my' got me curious. I shook off the thought and got back to our chat.
"Is full of magical surprises. Now, when you say people involved? Do you mean the Augustine society?" He sounded so intrigued and thirsty for revenge that it made me chuckle. "If it's them, where do I sign up? I'm in!"
I knew it. Anything involving that society would just ignite his innate thirst for revenge, mayhem, and violence. Can't say I blame him. If I were in his position, I'd probably do the same and more. "I've got something in the works for them in the near future, once I'm a bit older. You know what they say, thorough planning leads to long-lasting and exquisite suffering," I said with an evil smirk on my face, which didn't quite match my youthful appearance.
"I seem to remember a different saying," he chuckled with amusement. "When the time comes, you can be sure I'll gladly volunteer to assist." I could tell he was already lost in thoughts of that society's impending downfall. My giggle snapped him out of it, and he asked, "So, why did you reach out to me, my little witch?"
Once again with the 'my', what's that all about? Oh well. "I've decided to continue my career as an arsonist and take it to another level," I began, receiving only a raised eyebrow from him, a gesture reminiscent of Damon's. "I just need your speed to get the job done faster."
"Oh, what's got my little witch so eager to burn?" Enzo asked casually, leaning against the bathroom building, facing her.
Grinning mischievously, I replied, "Mystic Falls' Wickery Bridge and its sign."
"I suppose this career of yours is resuming tonight?" Enzo continued, wearing a mischievous grin of his own.
"At midnight tonight," she replied, rising from the bench to face Enzo. "Let's meet here before then. And, could you procure several cans of gasoline? We'll need them."
Enzo straightened up, walked over to Bonnie, and patted her head. "Of course, my little witch. See you later," he said with a fond smile before zipping away.
I then started making my way back to my friends, wearing a smile and humming the "Mission Impossible" theme song.
~Timeskip~ Minutes before midnight~ same bathroom scene as before~
Enzo sat on the bench, gazing at the night sky with a sense of calm around him. He patiently awaited the angel who had saved him, and the cans of gasoline were positioned behind him, neatly arranged to prevent any spills.
Thinking about the angel who saved him, he's seriously grateful to Bonnie, but he can't help but wonder about her real motives. I mean, he's been through some nasty stuff, so being a bit cynical is kinda natural, you know? But what's kinda weird is that she's just a kid, right? Most kids her age are all about games and toys, not revenge and violence. It's like, "Whoa, kid, where'd you get all these grown-up thoughts?" But that's Bonnie for you. She's different, and that makes him super curious. Curious enough to be down for whatever she's got cooking. Plus, her grand plans to stick it to that messed-up society? I'm all in! So, once I've wrapped up a few things, maybe find that idiot Damon Salvatore and give him a piece of my mind for leaving me alone in that hellhole, and see the world a bit, I'm thinking I'll stick around to uncover the big ol' mystery that is Bonnie Bennett.
All of a sudden, he snapped out of his thoughts, and thanks to his sharp vampire senses, he could hear the pitter-patter of a heartbeat right beside him. If not for that heartbeat, he would have been greatly surprised.
"My little witch," he started as he straightened up and looked at Bonnie to his left, "you seem to have a knack for surprising people and giving them heart attacks. Lucky for me, I have vampire senses."
He then heard her let out a soft, "tch," and he just chuckled at her.
BONNIE POV
"Tch," I muttered, annoyed that my surprise failed. Next time, I'll remember to use a silence spell first. "I don't know what you mean," I said with a mischievous grin, ready to deny whatever he'd say.
He chuckled at my antics. "Did you bring them?" I asked, standing in front of him and pretending to look away. I'll have to practice my innocent act more.
"Behind me," he said, and I peered behind him to spot the cans. With my pocket dimension ability, a skill I'd picked up from various manga and anime, I could access items I'd stored away. It was amazing how reading manga and watching all those shows had taught me so much, and I was putting it to good use.
"Alright," I replied with a grin, coming to stand beside him. "Let's head to our destination."
I watched as Enzo's surprise and awe lit up his expression at my pocket dimension ability. He couldn't contain his curiosity any longer and asked me, "Wait, what's that ability? That was super useful."
I guess I can indulge in sharing this bit of info since he's helping me. I explained, "That's my pocket dimension ability, or I like to call it 'Loki's Bottomless Magic Bag of Safekeeping.' I can create separate spaces to store things." I took out my Bag of Holding and handed it to him, feeling a bit boastful. "I also have this. Open it and stick your hand inside. Try to reach the bottom of the bag."
His puzzled expression didn't last long as he followed my instructions. I observed his face as it ran the gamut of emotions before he shouted at me in sheer amazement and excitement. It seems I had truly caught him off guard. "What on earth is this bag, and where can I snag one? Well, maybe not this exact design, but you know what I'm getting at!" He continued to scrutinize the bag.
I couldn't help but chuckle at his reaction. "Well, Enzo, I'm afraid you won't find one quite like it. This little beauty is a Bonnie Bennett original. Handcrafted, one of a kind." I had a good laugh watching him inspect the bag so intently. He was taking forever, so I snatched it back from him. "This is a Bag of Holding, or simply put, a bottomless bag. The name kinda sums it up, right? You can stuff anything in there, and it won't get full or heavy."
To demonstrate, I grabbed a whole potted plant from next to the bench and shoved it in. "To get something out of it, just think about it, and there you have it." I showed him how it worked, and he got all excited about having one of his own. I figured I might give him one as a little thank-you for helping me, sort of like the one I gave my dad. He needs it for his business trips, and Enzo could use it when he's out and about. "It's pretty much like my pocket dimension but in a practical size that regular folks can handle."
"Which simply means, I can also use it!" Enzo said excitedly then raised an eyebrow, an intrigued smile dancing on his lips. "You're full of surprises, aren't you?"
I gave a mischievous grin. "You have no clue, Enzo. But let's save the chit-chat for later. We've got a bridge to burn." I pulled him close and, to his surprise, we shadow-traveled to the bridge. It took us less than 10 seconds to get there, and I pointed at the very bridge that kicked off all the drama in the show.
Enzo looked around, a bit disoriented. "Whoa, what the hell is that?" he said, trying to regain his balance and taking in his new surroundings. "I guess you used that same ability when we first met? You really are one talented witch, Bonnie Bennett. Instant teleportation, wow!"
"I guess you can call it that, but that was actually shadow travel," I explained, demonstrating the ability and watching the awe in his expression. I retrieved the cans of gasoline from my pocket dimension and placed them in front of him. "Anyway, can you please pour the gasoline all over the bridge? Cover every inch of it."
Snapping out of his dazed awe, he grinned and said, "Sure thing, my little witch." He then proceeded to do as I asked him.
While Enzo was dealing with the gasoline, I dashed over to the Wickery Bridge sign and used my wind elemental mojo to chop off a piece, enough to whip up at least six stakes. Then, I chucked the bigger bits right onto the bridge's center. I'd already told Enzo to douse them with gasoline. In less than a minute, we were done with that, and Enzo joined me again. I muttered a Scourgify spell, a handy trick I picked up from potterverse, to clean his shoes and the gas spills. Then, with a wicked grin on my face, I summoned my inner firebender and lit that bridge up. It felt a bit like being Azula from 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' as I watched the flames devour the bridge.
I watched the fire, contemplating my next move. Hmm... I can't think of anything right now. I'm already getting sleepy because my young body can't keep up.
"So, what's next, my little witch?" Enzo interrupted my thoughts.
I couldn't stop a yawn from escaping my mouth. The fire's flames were strangely hypnotic, making me feel drowsy. "Can we continue this discussion tomorrow morning, Enzo?" I asked him as I used a Scourgify spell to clean us both from any ashes. "I need to head back to bed before my parents and grams notice I'm not there."
"No worries, little witch," Enzo grinned. We could hear the rumble of an approaching car from the other side of the bridge. Fortunately, the roaring flames masked our presence. Out of nowhere, the distant wail of sirens became audible. It seemed like someone had tipped off the authorities. Time for us to skedaddle.
"Thank you for helping me, Enzo," I expressed my gratitude with a smile, and he responded with a gentle pat on my head. "I'll see you tomorrow, and I'll contact you via telepathy as soon as I can. Bye." With that, I shadow-traveled back to my room.
From a distance, I heard his voice calling out, "Goodnight, my little witch." That word again, 'my.' Why does he keep referring to me as that? Oh, well. I can always ask him tomorrow.
Chapter's finally done! I have a question for you all. Should I pair up Enzo and Bonnie? I already have my heart set on a reverse harem with four certain guys, but I'd love to give Enzo a happy ending too.
If your answer is 'yes,' I'll include him, but if it's 'no,' who would you like to see paired with him? Just not Caroline, because I'm shipping her with Stefan. They're adorable together, and let's be honest, torturing Elena is a bonus. ?
Thanks for reading! Feel free to leave comments and likes. See you in the next chapter! ?
