Ch. 1: A New Face In Town

Note: I know this pairing is sort of untraditional but I do believe it gave me an opportunity to play with two of my personal favorite fandoms and gave me a chance to try my hand at writing a romance that (hopefully) I made engaging enough to invest a reader's interest in. For those of you who don't skip notes, I hope that you go into this story with an open mind. It's been a while since I've wrote but I had a fun idea and hopefully I can entertain you guys enough to keep reading.

I do not own any of the characters depicted in this story...

Just decided to go back and clean the early chapters up a bit and add some previews! Enjoy!

On a crisp spring morning in a city known as Musutafu, a cool breeze rustled the newly bloomed buds that had appeared on the trees around the stone walkway of the lavish manor. The massive estate was home to none other than the wealthiest family in the city... The Yaoyorozu's.

The tree branches swayed as the gentle wind pulled a few more pedals from their homes and gently floated towards the ground below. A golden light had just moments ago, covered the town, ushering in the start to a brand new day for the brilliant, young hero in training as she began to stir in her bed. Daylight had already begun to intrude its way between the gaps in all of the drawn curtains of the sizable bedroom. Once one of the rays carefully crept its way across her face, a pair of beautiful (yet tired) onyx eyes opened ever so slightly.

*Ding... *Ding... *Ding ...

Three electronic chimes came from her cellphone that rested on the nightstand beside her bed. Slowly, she sat up and rubbed her eyes as she tried to transition from a state of restful sleep, to one of consciousness. Reaching to her nightstand, she unplugged her phone from its charging cable and typed in her passcode to unlock it. Three unread messages from a group chat.

Mina Ashido: Wakey wakey YaoMomo!! We all decided to walk to school today remember?

Mina Ashido: I'll never get over how totally huge your house is... We just turned on your street but we've been able to see it for a few blocks now lol.

Mina Ashido: Girl! Are you even awake? Up and at em! Mama can't be late anymore or Mr. Aizawa might actually kill me!

A small chuckle left her lips. Her pink friends approach to her own life around her was never anything short of amusing. She typed out a response and hit send.

Momo Yaoyorozu: I'm up. Gotta get ready. Be down in a second. Jiro knows the code to open the gate.

She sat her phone back down and let out a small sigh before getting up and walking into her spacious closet. She began to mentally reprimand herself for, once again, not using the alarm clock feature on her smart phone. She used to have no need for any kind of sharp, unwelcome sounds to wake her up... She was so used to her daily routine that her body just kind of knew when to start up on its own. However, after a few weeks at UA and it's famously arduous hero course, and after enduring an attack by a group known as The League of Villains... She had been pushing herself nonstop to become stronger than ever, leaving her body in a seemingly constant state of exhaustion. Even so, her spirit remained high and her combat skills were steadily improving with each passing day.

She began to change out of her pajamas and into her school uniform while she continued to reflect on her time spent in the famous UA hero course. Once dressed, she exited her closet and finished her morning routine, capping it off by tying her hair into her signature ponytail and headed down to greet her friends.

As she descended to the bottom of the stairs in the large foyer, a servant had her school bag in hand as he waited for her.

"Good morning Miss Momo. Your friends are waiting for you outside. Shall I assume you will be walking to school today?" The old man asked with a smile as he handed over her backpack.

"Thank you Mr. Kenichi... Yeah, I'll be walking today." She responded warmly.

Mr. Kenichi had been employed as the Yaoyorozu family's butler long before she was even born. He was practically a part of their family and was treated as such. Ever since young Momo was a little girl, he has looked after her as if she were his own daughter, providing her with the utmost care, guidance, and widom. "Will you be needing a ride after school?" He asked as she slung her backpack over her shoulder.

"I'm not quite sure yet... I don't believe so, but I'll be sure to let you know if anything changes. Try to enjoy yourself while I'm gone, you've been working too much lately." She said with a slight hint of concern for the elderly man.

He smiled at her and patted her shoulder, "Nonsense. I'm more than glad to be of service Miss Momo..." He responded as they bowed to each other, "...but thank you. Have an excellent day and if you find yourself in need of anything please don't hesitate to let me know."

Yaoyorozu smiled and nodded as he opened the front door for her. As she stepped out, she was greeted by her friends.

"Finally!!! For someone as organized as you, you sure don't like to set your alarm clock..." Jiro chuckled. The purple haired music enthusiast and her had gotten to be extremely good friends since the beginning of the school year... and the two had grown even closer after their uncomfortably close brush with death during the USJ attack.

"Yeah... But I honestly can't blame you... If your bed is as nice as your house, I wouldn't wanna get up either." Ashido laughed.

"We should get going. *ribbit ribbit After what happened over the weekend, I'd imagine that today is definitely not a good day to upset Mr. Aizawa..."

As the famously intimating glare of their homeroom teacher flashed in their minds, they began their walk to school together.

The journey to school was filled with conversation and laughter. Musutafu's population was now bustling with life. It's people and public transportation in full swing with daily commuters making their way to their own destinations. Just another day in each busy life. Except for the young ladies of UA's class 1A (and actually all of the ladies at UA). Today was a day of freedom. A day to be celebrated. Today was the first day in which the entire female student body could finally breathe easily without the fear of being harassed by Minoru Mineta, who last Friday, was caught in the showers of the girls locker room trying to set up a hidden camera. Principal Nezu had made an example of him by expelling him from UA after many (if not all) of the female students came forward with their other... "Experiences"... with the purple haired pervert.

As the group reached the massive steel doors known as "The UA Barrier", their conversation turned to the subject of their newfound freedom.

"I'm so freaking glad he's gone. I almost can't believe it." Said Mina as she exhaled deeply.

"I'm kinda surprised it took as long as it did *ribbit ribbit*" commented Tsu. "It's almost sad in a weird way. There's no way he'll get accepted into another hero program with that on his record."

"Play stupid games, win stupid prizes." Snorted Jiro, "I refuse to feel bad for him. Not a day went by where he didn't try to grope one of us... Mostly YaoMomo."

Yaoyorozu shuttered. She had become the mini menaces top target due to certain... "Highly developed" body parts. Not to mention he sat right in front of her in class. It almost seemed like every time she looked up, he was either gawking at her (specifically her chest), making some obscene gesture, or creating a pool of saliva on her desk. Most of the time it was all of the above. "Yeah... I definitely won't miss him." She said in annoyance thinking back on all of Mineta's "encounters".

As the group passed through the main entrance, they continued to engage in their ick-filled conversation topic as they made their way towards class 1A's cluster of lockers.

Once they arrived they continued to chat. Uraraka suddenly brought up an interesting point. "You know... I never really thought about it but, since Mineta is gone, does that mean we'll be down a classmate or will we get a new one?" The upbeat brunette asked as she brought a finger to her chin.

Everyone's interest was suddenly piqued by the question.

"Hmm, I never even considered that..." Momo stated curiously, "...but if I had to guess, I'd say we're going to be getting a new classmate. UA is one of the most highly regarded hero schools in the world. Principal Nezu and the rest of the staff wouldn't exactly have to look too hard to find a suitable applicant to join our class."

One after another, they began to shut their lockers. Toru's clothes started to shake with excitement. "Oh wow that's so exciting! When do you think they'll make a decision?!" The invisible girl shouted.

"With how hard nosed and fast paced UA is, they probably already did." Jiro replied plainly as the group began walking towards their classroom. "I hope it's a girl though... We're still way out numbered." She joked as she twirled one of her earphone jacks.

"You know, not to sound like Mineta or anything, but wouldn't it be like, ironic or something if it was a cute guy?" Mina said half jokingly.

"Yeah that would be pretty great..." Toru agreed. Jiro, on the other hand, just rolled her eyes, an action that didn't go unnoticed by the pink skinned girl to her right. She decided to poke a little bit of fun at the hearing hero.

"Awww Jiro... Don't be like that... All we want for ourselves is what you have with Kaminari. Let us have the dream!" She nudged the purple haired punk rockstar with her elbow.

Jiro scoffed as they reached the gigantic classroom door, "As if I'd actually like someone who's brain literally short circuits on a regular basis."

As the girls entered the room, they instantly realized that all of the boys were already there. It almost seemed like they were waiting for them. Confusion began to spread throughout the group as all of the boys in class 1A turned their attention to the six young heroines that had just entered the room.

Tsu was the one to break the silence. "Uhhh... What's up with you guys *ribbit?"

Iida stood up and the rest followed suit. Even a certain blonde hot head reluctantly pulled himself from his chair and placed his hands in his pocket.

The class rep cleared his throat.

"On behalf of all of us, we would like to apologize for the actions of ex-classmate Minoru Mineta." He bowed along with the others. Bakugo let out a silent grunt to himself in annoyance that he had allowed himself to be roped into this apology, even though he had nothing to do with it.

The girls were suddenly taken aback to say the least. Never before had they expressed or felt any ill thoughts or feelings towards their other male classmates due to the actions of one bad apple... But the gesture was appreciated nonetheless.

Iida continued, "His actions were unacceptable for anyone, especially someone aspiring to become a hero. We want to be very clear that moving forward, any act of assault or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated by us, nor anyone else. As class representative, I take full responsibility for not being able to control Mineta's actions, and I promise to be better from now on... As do the rest of us... Right everyone?"

"Yes class rep." All the boys said in unison.

Momo smiled along with the other girls. They all nodded amongst one another and she spoke for them. "Apology accepted."

And at that, the cloud of intensity that had filled the room upon their arrival, slowly disapated and banter between all the students began as normal.

As it turned out, the boys had come to the same conclusion as the girls concerning the possibility of welcoming a new face among them. In fact, Iida and Midoriya happened to have a tiny bit of information that would confirm the ongoing suspicions. (Midoriya had actually learned a great deal about the new student from All Might over the weekend during his training)

"So we are getting a new kid?!" Exclaimed Mina.

"Yeah, he's apparently from the United States." Midoriya replied.

"Whoa! That's so awesome!" Kirishima shouted in excitement that was also shared throughout the rest of the students.

Bakugo just responded with a sharp "Tch." and turned away from the rest of the class. To him, adding another extra to the class was more annoying than exciting.

"HE?! SO IT IS A GUY!" Both Toru and Mina squealed in elation.

Everyone's interest was extremely peaked but their excitement was suddenly tempered down by the sound of the school bell. Immediately, everyone scattered to their assigned seats just before the door opened and Shouta Aizawa entered the classroom. The long haired teacher made his way sluggishly to his podium and addressed his students.

"I'm sure you're all more than aware of the situation regarding your former classmate, Minoru Mineta, so I don't find it necessary to go into any further detail or discussion on what happened or why something along those lines will not happen again." He stated firmly as his eyes flashed around the room, stiffening the spines of his students as they sat quietly.

"Good." He continued, "Now, I do have one announcement to make... Starting today, a new student will be joining you. You will be responsible for getting him settled and comfortable as part of this class..." He glanced at Bakugo, who averted his gaze in annoyance. "Just an fyi, he earned his spot in this class through a mock entrance exam where he bested all of your scores, tying with Bakugo, but excluding the two of you who received recommendations..."

Katsuki's head snapped back towards his teacher at the mention of someone having the nerve to stand at the top of the class with him.

Everyone's eyes widened as they looked around the room at one another. Murmurs began to arise but we're instantly cut off. "That wasn't an invitation to talk." Aizawa said sternly.

"Yes sir." They all responded in almost robotic unison.

"UA is home to the greatest hero program in Japan, and is highly argued as the best in the world. Just because you made the cut doesn't mean your spot is permanent. There is an entire stack of applications on Principal Nezu's desk of talented individuals waiting for an opportunity to take your spots..." he warned. "...And they come from more places than just Japan. I would advise you to stick to your training if you want to remain here... All clear?"

"Yes sir."

"Great. On that note..." Aizawa turned his attention to the classroom door. "Come on in and introduce yourself."

On the very same morning, around one hour before the first highly disciplined young UA student walked through the school's entrance, a young man wearing a loose fitting smokey grey beanie approached the UA Barrier. A black school bag was slung over his shoulder. He wore a forest green zip up jacket over a black T-shirt bearing the phrase: "The physics are theoretical, but the fun is real" with a pair of worn grey pants with holes in the knees. The footsteps from his scuffed athletic sneakers barely made a sound as he nervously neared the gate.

Anxious as he was, he did manage to take in his surroundings. He was awestruck. The entirety of his his flight to Japan was spent searching anything and everything to do with Musutafu. He used every single search engine he knew of to try to settle his nerves about starting his new life alone on the other side of the earth. He looked around at the towering buildings, winding roads, and the surprising amount of greenery. Hardly any trash was to be seen anywhere. Quite the opposite of the city he used to call home, that was now a very long ways behind him.

He sighed with a small sudden thought of dismay. 'She would have loved this place.' he thought lowly to himself.

As his trek came to an end he was met at the barrier by a long, dark haired man, a woman who was dressed very... "Suggestively"... and a... Dog?... Mouse?... Bear???...

"Why hello young man!" The mysterious animal greeted him, "We're so delighted to have you join our hero academia. Welcome to UA High!"

The young man blinked as he tried to make sense of his situation, 'Where the hell am I?'

Nezu, Aizawa, and Midnight escorted him throughout the campus. The furry critter, who he now came to understand was the principal, seemed to genuinely be happy to be speaking with him, which put his wearily anxious mind somewhat at ease. Well... Mostly. To his left, his new teacher walked silently beside him with Nezu riding comfortably in his scarf. The man looked extremely tired and barely spoke, but the few times he did, even his voice sounded as if the man had just barely managed to drag himself out of bed. He didn't make much eye contact either, but from what he could tell, they were slightly bloodshot and barely open. The rough exterior of his new professor wasn't what unnerved him however, it was the woman to his right who had yet to stop staring at him since they were introduced. Ms. Midnight had been much more talkative. Her and Nezu had taken the lead in their seemingly unending tour, and she had been sure to let him know that he was a "very handsome young man" every time the opportunity presented itself. At one point of the tour she began to lay it on a little too thick for Mr. Aizawa's (and his new pupil's) taste and he stepped between them.

The tour, long as it was, did prove rather fascinating as the stops included: His classroom, his locker, the cafeteria, class 1A's locker room, the infirmary, and support course classrooms to name a few. All of which were much more fancy than anything he had access to back in America.

The shiny coated principal had discussed his new class schedule, curriculum, school rules, policies, and procedures at great length as the tour finally came to a close. Standing in Nezu's cozy office, he was made aware that he would need to change into his official UA student uniform before heading to his classroom. Ms. Midnight entered the room behind him holding said uniform and handed it to him with a giggle.

"Oh how I just love a man in uniform." She winked.

'Uhhhh...'

The young man could only offer a small nod and a shakey "thank you" as he accepted the uniform from her.

"The UA uniform is much more than just garments worn by all of the students here," Nezu began to explain, "Many of the world's greatest heroes, including All Might himself, once wore them. It is a symbol of our school's unity... Though each of our bright young students has their own unique skills and strengths to bring to the table, it is our cooperation and teamwork that will pave the way to a peaceful and functional society."

"Thank you sir." The boy said with a smile, feeling a genuine sense of welcome.

"It has been a pleasure meeting you you man. I'll be keeping up with your progress through Mr. Aizawa with enthusiasm. Feel free to stop by my office anytime if you are ever in need of my assistance." Said the principal as he extended his paw.

The boy took his paw in his hand and gave it a firm shake with a smile.

Aizawa grabbed his shoulder and led him out of the office. "Go ahead and get changed into your uniform and be sure to remove your hat. I'll be waiting for you outside the classroom. You remember how to find your way from here?"

"Yes sir."

"Good. Don't take too long. We try not to waste time here."

"I-I'll be quick." stammered the boy, feeling suddenly as though a count down had started.

And with that, he hurried along to the bathroom, changed into his uniform, and met up with his professor outside of the large classroom door. A multitude of excited voices could be heard from behind it. Just a few seconds later the bell rang and in an instant everything was silent other than the sound of desk chairs scooting into place.

"Wait here. I have to address your classmates about something that doesn't pertain to you. I'll leave the door open and call you in when I'm finished. You'll introduce yourself briefly and take your seat. Understood?"

"Yes sir."

Aizawa nodded and headed inside to speak with his new classmates. From what he overheard he could tell something had seriously irritated his teacher. Something about his voice had shifted. He no longer sounded tired. His tone had taken on a much more intense version of itself, and the young man found it to be very intimidating to say the least. He continued to listen from outside the room as he made a mental note to do everything in his power to avoid pissing off his new professor. He also was able to deduce that he would, in fact , not be meeting anyone named Mineta once inside.

Once the discussion turned to the subject of a new student, his heart rate increased. He took a few deep breaths and gripped the straps of his backpack as he heard his cue to enter the classroom. As soon as he walked through the door, every set of eyes were fixed upon him. He scanned the room and found that the only open seat was behind a boy with unruly green hair and in front of a girl who was intimidatingly beautiful. He swallowed his nerves.

"Well, are you going to introduce yourself or should I?" Aizawa pressed, ready to get the day started.

"O-oh right! Sorry... Hi. I'm Peter Parker... Nice to meet you guys."

HERE'S THE PREVIEW:
