HAHAHA I'VE BEEN WAITING TO WRITE THIS ONE. This will be fun. Hehehehe *cackles like a witch*

Just a couple things to note:

I'm saying that the kids are seven, eight, and eleven in this.

Samantha is a year older than Susie

I also changed Chris's, aka the Crying Child's name to Evan. Just cause I like that name and it seems that that's his canon name at the moment.

Reviews!

MoonTheMagical: Yesss, I love vanny! I'm excited for Security Breach, though I hope it won't completely change the lore that this story is so fragiley held together with.

Notjeillen: wow you don't have a crush on me ;( /joking

mixsii: two more chapters

Trigger warning: mentions of abuse, and a violence and gore warning, though I feel like I don't need to put a warning for that because this is FNaF and I'm sure you are all big kids. But seriously though, this chapter contains some dark stuff (I'm sure you know whats happening here). Be prepared.

Enjoy!

Chapter 40

Bloodstained Memories

"We have a secret too."

Ruby blinked. The way they said it, so dramatically. Was it really that bad? "Okay. Sure. What is it?" Whatever it was, it couldn't be that big of a deal.

"No, but seriously Ruby. This is a super big deal and you have to swear to keep this a secret." Chica pleaded.

Oh. So it was that big of a deal.

"Mm-kay. I promise. Girl Scouts Honour." They didn't have to know that she'd misbehaved so badly in Girl Scouts when she was nine that her mother had to take her out of it within the first month. The paints were right there, and the wall was so plain, and that stupid bully Mahri's face was lacking in lime green.

The animatronics shared one final glance, then began their story.

Bringgggggg!

The noisy elementary school bell rang. The children there used to joke that the bell was always cursing, and so the principal had to bleep it out.

Kids rushed out the doors, for freedom for a grand sixty minutes that they called recess. The stampede trailed onto the playground, to the soccer fields, or around the school. A group of entrepreneurs set up their slime shop, two girls played one-on-one basketball, some kindergarteners played tag, and a crowd of kids went to deal in Pokymon cards behind the school, in such a dramatic and secretive way, you'd think they were drug dealers instead of sticky-fingered eight-year-olds.

But the group of children we are focusing on didn't stampede to the best swing or the good kickball. The first five kids, three boys and two girls, all the ages of seven or eight, waited outside one of the fourth-grade classrooms for their friend.

One of the girls made her little dog figurine dance across the windowsill. She tucked a blonde curl behind her small ear and sighed, trying to peek through the blinds with searching blue eyes. "Wow, I wonder what it'll be like in fourth grade. Only two more years! Then we'll be in the intermediate level." Susie Dawson-Reid said wistfully.

Susie was the most cheerful out of all of them. Like Fritz and Cassidy, she had a big imagination. She had short curly yellow-blonde hair, big blue eyes, and was wearing a pink collared button-up dress her sister had gotten her. A bouncy pink bow was placed on her head.

Fritz Smith, a tall boy with springy red hair and a freckled face, swung a stick like a sword happily. He was wearing a purple sweater and brown cargo shorts. "Yeah, an' then Cassidy will be in sixth grade. An' then after that, she'll be in middle school. One of the big kids."

A lunch duty in highlighter colours pointed to Fritz. "Hey, you! No sticks longer than your forearm."

Fritz frowned. "Stupid scallywag." He threw the long stick to the ground.

Margaret-Anne Gold, or Maggie as they called her, yelped and jumped back. Her dark, straight locks bounced out of her ponytail as she did so. She tied them back and straightened her lavender headband that stood out against her dark hair and skin. Her headband matched the frilly lavender dress she wore. Maggie frowned, then fixed him with an amber-eyed glare. "Stop throwing that stick around. You almost hit me!"

Fritz just grinned. "Or what?"

"Or I'll stab this stick through your eyes and into your stupid brain-"

"Woah, woah! Break it up." Gabriel Lopez stepped in. Being the oldest of six younger siblings, he was a natural leader and peacekeeper. He had skin the colour of caramel, short brown curls, and sapphire eyes. He was wearing a brown polo T-shirt and jeans.

"No, no. Let 'em fight. I wanna see some bloodshed." Jeremy Silver said with fire in his eyes.

Jeremy, who was typically the one to get into fights, had ebony tufts that reached just below his ears. He had fluffy bangs that brushed his dazzling green eyes, and very pale skin that stood out against his hair. He was wearing a dark purple hoodie, a matching beanie, and black ripped jeans.

The door suddenly opened, and there stood their best friend! At ten turning eleven years old, Cassidy Newton was possibly the coolest person the second-graders had ever met. She had short fluffy black hair with bangs, tanned skin, and sharp almond-shaped gold eyes. She was wearing a golden chunky-knit sweater, a black overall skirt, and a golden yellow headband resting in her hair.

Cassidy broke into a grin when she saw her friends waiting for her. "Hey guys! Let's go to the field, I heard Olia Novikov almost got killed by an ant nest in the manhole."

Susie gasped. She loved bugs. "Yay! Let's go see 'em!"

"Can't wait to be killed." Jeremy muttered darkly. Gabriel rolled his bright blue eyes.

"Okay, drama queen. Let's go already!"

The six friends ran off to the field.

"Um, cool story. But I still don't get how this is some big secret." Ruby said, crossing her arms.

"Oh my God, can you please just be patient?" Mangle scolded. "We haven't even gotten to the good stuff."

At the raised eyebrows of her friends, Mangle rolled her eyes. "Not good stuff, fine. Interesting stuff. Hate to break it to ya, sweetie, but nobody wants to hear about a couple of idiot kids looking at 'killer' ants."

Chica looked hurt. Freddy patted her back reassuringly and took over.

"Fine! I'll skip to Cassidy's birthday, then. That's when things really got interesting."

One noisy car ride driven by a poor Gabriel's mother later, the seven kids were at their favourite place in the world, Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. And it was a special visit, because today was June 26, Cassidy's tenth birthday. Gabriel's mother had to drive instead of Cassidy's because nobody else had a big enough car for seven whole kids plus a driver.

Seven kids? I thought there were six, you're probably wondering. Much to Susie's dismay, she had to bring her older sister Samantha with her, as her mother had to work. Samantha promised she'd stay out of their hair, though. Figures, she'd probably just read in the corner. Susie thought, rolling her eyes. She didn't understand why Sam always preferred to read or do math problems instead of hanging out with the ultra-cool animatronic mascots!

They each had their favourites. Gabriel liked Freddy, Jeremy would never admit it, but he loved Bonnie, Susie had an affection towards Chica, both Fritz and Maggie preferred Foxy, and Cassidy had a thing for Golden Freddy, an old animatronic from the past diner who they kept in a back room. They asked her why she liked Goldie the most, and she just said she liked the mystery. Plus, gold was kind of her thing.

Gabriel's mother, who was talking on a phone in furiously quick Spanish, opened the door and let the excited kids in.

Gabriel winced. "None of you understand Spanish, right?"

Everyone shook their heads. The only other kids who knew more than just English were Maggie, who could speak French, and Cassidy, who knew some Thai and was working on Italian. Cassidy's moms were Thai, and spoke both languages at home, and her grandmother had grown up in Italy.

"Phew. Lots of Spanish cursing there." Gabriel's family was Mexican, him and his triplet brothers had moved from Mexico when they were two and three. Since then, his family had grown to add his kind grandmother Minnie, and his younger sisters, Lilla, Coco, and Maya.

Cassidy, Jeremy, and Maggie didn't have any siblings. Susie had her older sister Samantha, and Fritz, who lived at an orphanage, didn't technically have any siblings, but there was a three-year-old named Violet who was like a little sister to him, and he was very fond and protective of her like a big brother would be.

The smell of greasy pizza invaded their thoughts, and before they knew it, they were sitting at a table and chowing down on cheesy Freddy's pizza. A cake was brought out, and Cassidy's moms plus her friends all sang an off-key version of Happy Birthday. Presents were put out, Cassidy put on a yellow party hat, and they went up to go dance with the band. The day was perfect.

Unbeknownst to them, someone had been watching with a malicious intent from the shadows. They donned a rabbit head, and crept closer to where two boys were chatting beside the stage.

"So yeah, I was thinking that you could play the- AAH!" Gabriel was cut off mid sentence by yelling in surprise at the 7-foot-tall golden rabbit standing behind him.

"Oh, did I scare you? So sorry. The name's Springbonnie, and I couldn't help but overhear your conversation." The voice was robotic and stiff, but at the same time full of life and comforting. Gabriel felt like he could tell this rabbit all his secrets, almost. There was something just so reassuring about him, even from the start.

"Anyways, I was wondering if you boys would like to check out a recording studio we have downstairs? It's where the band likes to rehearse!" Springbonnie chuckled, pointing to the animatronics on stage, then to a corner that led to a hidden door to a basement promising fun and music.

Well, Jeremy was old enough to realize that this was just a robot. A programmed AI. And he wasn't super keen to put his trust into anyone. That just got him hit, or slapped, or harsh words, or a half-empty beer bottle thrown at his head. Honestly, the words hurt more than the cuts and bruises ever would. You couldn't put superhero Band-Aids on 'this is why your father beats you, worthless little piece of shit'.

But the promise of music was too good to resist. Sometimes, he'd spend hours in the music room, strumming the guitar. Mr. Meyers, the music teacher, had taken a liking to him, and sometimes let him skip Silent Reading to play. Jeremy hated Silent Reading.

Sometimes, Jeremy felt that the teachers hated him, just like his parents. They'd yell at him too, for not being able to understand the math or the book they were doing. His teachers didn't get how you were supposed to hit and bite and scratch and swear when you got angry or frustrated or sad. And he couldn't cry, that was for girls. That's what his dad had taught him, anyways. And his dad was always right. The perfect masculine man, the example. Perfect wife, perfect house, perfect job. And an imperfect, ugly, stupid little waste of space son.

But music! That was too good to pass up. Jeremy nudged his best friend, the only person besides Mr. Meyers who truly seemed to understand him.

"C'mon, Gabe. Let's go! I've got some ideas for the chorus." Jeremy grinned.

"It's just down the hall, and to the right. Go down the stairs and wait there, I'll be right with you." The rabbit said smoothly, watching the two little boys run off laughing. The golden rabbit seemed to glide invisibly down the hallway all the way to Pirate's Cove, where a boy and two girls were playing with dolls and action figures.

"Boom! I exploded the ship!" Maggie cheered.

Fritz groaned. "Nooo! Princess Puppyglitter, help me!"

Susie grinned and pulled out her princess Barbie doll. She was just about to magic up a new one, when she felt a tap on her shoulder. Susie turned around, surprised, and saw a tall golden bunny that looked like Bonnie. The bunny smiled with sharp buck teeth, and gave them a little wave.

"Hello there, children. I noticed you like pirates, Captain Fritz and Captain Maggie. There's a cool new pirate ship downstairs, if you'd like to check it out. Down the hall, to the left, and down some stairs. Wait for me there."

Fritz gasped, his eyes lighting up. "Piratessss!" He skipped down the hall, with Maggie following close behind him. Then she paused. She had to go to the washroom. She ran the other way without giving it or Susie a second thought. Maggie didn't realize yet just how lucky she was for making that one simple decision.

Susie turned to the bunny. "Hi there Mister Bunny. I'm Susie Dawson-Reid." She stuck out her hand, pleased with her manners. Freya, one of the teacher aids in her class, had been teaching them about introducing yourself politely. Her father had said that she was too loud before he left. So Susie had been trying to work the hardest in Freya's class. Then maybe, just maybe, her father would come back.

The bunny took her hand and shook it. His hands were giant compared to hers. "Hello there Miss Susie. I noticed you like puppies, as do I! Do you have a puppy?"

Susie turned away and frowned sorrowfully. "Well, I did when I was small. His name was Sparky, and he was a golden Lab. Mommy said he went to heaven, but I heard Daddy say he got hit by a car. But I know it's not true! Sparky would never leave me. Right, Mister Bunny?" She looked at him with eager blue eyes.

The bunny nodded. He remembered the puppy. Of course, she didn't have to know what from... "Oh, yes. I found Sparky right here a couple days ago, as a matter of fact. Right as rain."

Susie gasped and clasped her hands together joyfully. Could it be true? Her beloved puppy was here all along? "You did?! Oh, thank you ever so much, Mister Bunny! I knew it couldn't be true!"

The bunny smiled. "Of course, sweet child. You have such splendid manners! Now, I've kept Sparky down where the pirate ship is, so that he could play pretend while I searched for his owner. You remember the directions?"

Susie nodded excitedly.

"Now make sure you're quiet. Don't want to alarm anyone. It can be a surprise! You like surprises, don't you, dear?"

Susie nodded and grinned. "I'll be quiet! Zip it, lock it, put it in my pocket." She mimed zipping her lips with an imaginary zipper and giggled. The rhyme was so funny.

The bunny chuckled and nudged her forward towards the door. "Now run along, Silly Susie. I'll meet you there in a moment."

Susie beamed. Her manners had led her to Sparky, and now she had a new friend.

The rabbit had one last stop to make. Down the hall, to the left was a girl drawing in her notepad, curled up alone in the dark room. He stopped in the doorway, light illuminating behind him. The girl looked up in surprise.

"Hello there, Cassidy. What are you doing all alone? It's your tenth, is it not? Double digits, it's an important birthday." The rabbit asked, tilting its head to the side.

Cassidy sighed. "Well, yeah. It's just, today I really wanted to meet Golden Freddy. He's my favourite, by the way. But the workers here say that he's off-limits."

The rabbit took a step forward. It was odd, Cassidy thought. Unlike the other animatronics, who were stiff and clammy, he moved with a human-like fluidity.

"Well, I don't know if you noticed, but I look an awful lot like Goldie." The rabbit struck a silly pose, and Cassidy giggled. "He's, uh, my brother, in fact. But, I happen to know where the workers are keeping him. He's down the hall, to the right. He's quite a nice guy, just a tad misunderstood. I'm sure the two of you will get along just fine though!" The rabbit offered.

Cassidy gasped and jumped up, leaving her notebook on the tile floor. "Really? You mean it?"

"Of course. Anything for the special birthday girl." The rabbit ruffled her fluffy black hair with his big matted paw. Cassidy laughed and ran down the hallway. But then she paused.

"Thanks a ton, Rabbit! Hey, are you coming?"

The man behind the suit smiled with a true sense of happiness, though not for the reason Cassidy might expect. "Of course, dear child. Just follow me."

Cassidy grinned and ran to the door, right behind him.

The man behind the rabbit suit reached his arm out of the rabbit's arm and grabbed something out of his pocket. His eyes fell closed and he sighed. For science. Anything was okay in the name of science, right? They made baby bunnies go blind with shampoo products, after all. Science. Well, and one other thing.

This is for you, Evan and Elizabeth. Wherever you are.

"Hey, Cassie! What are you doing here? Did the rabbit tell you? Apparently there's a pirate ship and a recording studio down here!" Fritz said excitedly.

Cassidy frowned. "That and Golden Freddy's down here? Really?" It seemed a little unlikely that so many things could be down here at once, but it was entirely possible.

"And my puppy!" Susie squealed. "I can't wait to see Sparky. I'm going to tell him all the stuff that he missed." The little girl was so happy, she could burst. She loved him even more than she loved Oliver the tree, but don't mention that to anyone. She wasn't supposed to pick favourites.

"I dunno, guys. Doesn't this seem a little suspicious?" Jeremy, always the suspicious detective, muttered.

Gabriel gave him an affectionate bump. "Don't worry, I'm sure Springbonnie's just getting everything set up." It was a little weird though. The small room had a checkered tile floor and gray walls with a similar pattern on it. Other than a small folding table in the corner, the room was completely empty. No sign of animatronics or puppies or anything.

"Maybe it has great acoustics?" Fritz suggested.

And just as she said that, the door behind them opened.

The rabbit was tall, so he had to duck in order to get in. He turned and locked the door, or so he thought he did. He watched the expecting faces of the children, their eyes shining. It was odd, really, how you could really change someone's emotions with simple material possessions. A promise, no matter who the source, will always make you feel hopeful in your heart. Emotions were a strange thing, and William was about to trigger the strongest one.

Agony.

He reached up and fiddled with the release triggers on his mask. Confused, the children watched as the rabbit removed its head, revealing the pale-skinned dark-haired man they knew as William Afton, the owner of Fazbear Entertainment. What was he doing down here? And why was he inside of Springbonnie?

He was wearing a malicious smile on his face as he reached behind him and pulled out a sharp silver blade.

"Happy birthday, kids!" He laughed, gray eyes flashing.

William watched in delight as the children's joyous faces turned immediately to fear. How quickly emotions could change.

"Wh-what are you doing with that, Mister?" Susie stammered, her body shaking slightly with nervousness.

William ignored her and pointed to each of the children in turn. Eeny, meeny, miny...Fritz.

He tugged him forward by the ruffled collar of his purple sweater. Fritz yelped and tried to escape, but before he could get a hold on him, the knife drove through his chest and twisted with a sickening crunch. Fritz choked, his body twitching. William frowned and drove the knife sharply into the small boy's eye, splitting it with the blade hitting rough bone.

The children in front of him screamed in fear, a symphony of terror. They immediately scattered into terrified little groups. William let Fritz's limp body fall to the floor and he stepped over him, breathing heavily. This was fun, euphoric, even. And all in the name of science, of course. But finally, finally, he was the one in control.

Who to pick next? He settled on Jeremy. But before he could do that, Gabriel stepped in front of him protectively.

"Get away from him!" He yelled, putting up his fists like a professional boxer.

William cackled. Really, this eight-year-old against him? "How cute." He reached forward and dragged the small boy over to him like he weighed nothing. William drove the blade into his belly one, two, three times before letting him fall to the ground. Blood leaked from his dead body, thick crimson red rivets that pooled around the four remaining kid's sneakers.

Jeremy whimpered in terror as William advanced, quickly cutting two short slashes onto his chest before finally driving the knife, slick with Gabriel's blood, into his gut.

Susie, who was huddled in a corner, was cowering in terror. Blood splattered William's face, the walls, and the cowering girl in front of him. William looked over her, delirious with power. She sobbed at his face, having turned into a shaking ball of fear. She struggled to get words out through her panic attack.

"Pl-pl-e-ease. D-don't do this! I-I trusted you!"

"Hmm, now that was a bad move. Wasn't it, darling?" William crooned, tracing the underside of her chin with the tip of his blade and watching the red pool up through the cut. Susie weeped harder.

"I-I just wanna see Sa-samantha and Sparky-y-y." She shook violently, on the verge of passing out from hyperventilating. Tears wouldn't stop rolling down her cheeks.

William, though pleased with the emotions he was able to bring out, was growing tired of this. He picked her up around her chest and brought the blade up to her neck, slitting her throat deep enough to kill. As an experiment, he brought the knife down to her right shoulder. With a grunt, the knife sliced through flesh and bone, the arm dropping to the floor like a grotesque trophy.

He let go of her blood-soaked body, which fell to the floor with a thump. Her eyes rolled back in her head as blood bubbled from her mouth in a gruesome manner. Susie's body gave out one last twitch, then was still.

Only one more. William turned to the last child, who was sobbing furiously at the death of her friends. But Cassidy had a plan. She'd seen him lock the door, and he hadn't twisted it the whole way. She could get out, warn everyone. No time to grieve. Cassidy wiped her tears away, and turned to the door.

Come on, come on! She jiggled the lock three times, and then the door sprung open. Yes! She sped out of there as fast as she could. Tell the adults! They knew what to do.

Back in the main party room, a man walked on stage. He cleared his throat, then spoke into the microphone. "Can all patrons please report to the main party room for a special song from Freddy and the band?" Children rushed out of the rooms, headed for the stage. Not a single child remained in the back rooms.

Meanwhile, Cassidy was trying her hardest not to trip over her own feet running up the stairs. She just had to make it to the main party room and she'd be safe-

No!

She'd fallen in the middle of the hallway. So close to the main party room, and yet, so far.

William chuckled lowly at the sight of the fallen girl in front of him. He grabbed her and dragged her back into his golden matted rabbit suit body.

"I'll scream," Cassidy warned him. She was a very good screamer. She'd been told so many times.

"Scream all you want, sugar. Nobody'll hear you over the band." William hummed.

And it was true. The other patrons were so invested in the loud, joyful, children's music, that they'd barely notice a scream of fear. Either that, or they'd mistake it for joy. Two wildly different emotions could sound so similar.

William clamped a musty yellow paw over her mouth and carried her into a nearby room. A simple storage room, nobody would think to look here. Besides, the performance would go on for at least another fifteen minutes, if not more. He threw the young girl into the room carelessly, shutting and locking the door. He triple-checked it this time. The lights were off, but the room was dimly lit with shiny purple glow-in-the-dark stars hanging on strings above their heads.

Cassidy, who was on the floor with an ugly purple bruise starting to form on her leg, looked up in terror, brushing the bangs out of her shimmering golden eyes. Tears pricked at the side of them. Her nose was clogged, so she had to make do with panting out of her mouth like some dog.

William cocked his head to the side and wiped the blood off the knife and onto his costume. "Let's make this fun, kiddo. How about we play a game of hide and seek? You hide, obviously. If you can hide from me for one minute, you get to go free, and I won't chase you. Tell whoever the hell you want that the big scary rabbit man slaughtered your friends. Call the cops. Lead 'em right to me." William spread his arms out. Cassidy nodded, trembling.

"But if I win, if I find and tag you, then I will kill you. And trust me, sweetheart, you'll want to hide well, because I certainly won't make it quick." William chuckled, slicing a piece of bloodstained fur off with his knife experimentally. Cassidy watched, fixated.

Of course, William was taking a risk here. The room was large, and cluttered with all kinds of things that a small, flexible little girl could hide in. But where was the fun in a challenge you know you could win? He loved the thrill, the rush that a good risk gave him. The chance that he could lose everything.

William turned around. "I'll give you sixty seconds. One...two…"

Think, think! Cassidy hit her head twice with her fist, as if to knock some ideas into her. She needed to think.

Her gaze swept the room. A closet...no, too obvious. A cupboard...no, she was too freaking tall.

Cassidy ran to the back of the room, then noticed something. Aha! A small ball pit lay in the back, wedged between a bucket and mop and a broken table.

Quietly, she slid into the pit. Wow, this thing was deep. She crept down further, and submerged herself beneath the colourful plastic balls.

"Fifty-eight, fifty-nine... sixty! Ready or not...here I come." William uttered.

Cassidy willed her breathing to slow down. Adrenaline was coursing through her veins, and her heart was beating a million miles a second. Unfortunately, now was really not the time to be claustrophobic.

"Are you in here?" Cassidy heard the sound of a cupboard door opening. "Seems not. Cassie, sweet pea, won't you come out and play? Come and join the party, your friends miss you."

Cassidy swallowed.

"We'll have cake, and presents for everyone. What about poor Jeremy, with his broken home? He'll finally have a place. And Fritz, all he wanted was a family. He'll have one with us. And you, you'll have the siblings you've always dreamed about having. We'll be together forever, just the six of us. Come on out, Cassie. Today's your happiest day."

Cassidy shook her head. Block him out, block him out. Just focus on being quiet and maybe you'll escape. Maggie is still alive. We could still be friends. Everything will be okay. Please, please, please let me win-

She felt a tap on her shoulder. Everything froze.

The man behind her spoke one, chilling word.

"Tag."

Cassidy's whole body began to shake. She was slammed up against the wall, a paw pressed against her chest. His other hand, which clutched the knife, wasn't protected by the suit, and before she could think it over, she lurched forward and sunk her teeth deep, feeling the harsh scrap of bone and the satisfying tang of blood.

William let out a roar of pain and smacked her hard across the face with his paw, sending her reeling back. "You little bitch. You're going to pay for that."

Cassidy whimpered as he raised the knife. He slashed a thin line down the middle of her forehead. Hot liquid dripped into her eyes and down her cheeks, and she had to force herself not to wipe it away. Not that she could, anyways, being pinned against the wall.

"I'll kill you," She spat. "I swear I will."

William smirked, then lifted Cassidy's arm up with a strong grip, and twisted it sharply to the side. There was a snapping sound of a breaking bone, but she barely noticed the pain through her hysteria. Adrenaline seemed to keep the pain away. What was in front of her was more terrifying than a simple broken arm would ever be. He traced two more cuts on her cheeks, in the shape of stars. He smiled, pleased with his art, before driving the knife into her gut, stabbing over and over and over again, blood spraying all over his face and the wall behind her. Finally, William chuckled and brought the knife to her heart.

"You can't," He growled, and then he drove the blade in three swift times. Her vision swam red and there was a blinding white flash of pain.

And then Cassidy felt nothing at all.

"Hmm...Chica for Susie. Bonnie for Jeremy. Freddy for Gabriel." William hummed, placing a furry mascot head into each of the bodies in turn. "Foxy for Fritz, obviously. And Golden Freddy for the birthday girl." He smiled as he placed the final head. Now all he had to do was wait.

Several hours later, a tall, thin figure appeared. This figure was different from William. While William had emitted a dark, malicious energy, this one felt warm and safe, like a cushy teddy bear or a hug from your best friend.

The marionette observed the scene with sadness. They were only children, just like her. They didn't deserve this. They deserve another chance at life, no matter how corrupt. And they deserved a chance at revenge.

Charlie, or Mari as some called her, raised her arms and concentrated. She could do this. Gain control of their Agony. Of their feelings. And...animate them!

There was a flash of blue light and their eyes flashed a warm golden colour. Charlie smiled.

They would wake up, in time. But now, she had to get going. She couldn't be seen here.

Six years later, the same man struck again, luring a small girl with straight dark hair and a frilly lavender-coloured dress into a back room and swiftly killing her. The girl, Maggie, possessed Maggie, of course. Nicknamed The Mangle by the workers for its amalgamation, broken-down appearance.

He smiled. It was done. He would finally have a happy family for years to come.

Their happiest day.

"That sick bastard! Where is he? I'ma hit him so hard, his great-great-grandchildren will have bruises." Ruby snarled, putting up her fists. How could he do such a horrific thing?

"But do you see, Ruby? We're those kids. Gabriel, Jeremy, Susie, Fritz, and Maggie." Chica said gently.

Ruby paused. Oh. That was...new.

"Y-you're human? Huh. I guess I should have guessed as much. Nobody can program robots that well." She said slowly.

It all made more sense now. How they could act so humanly, express emotions...ugh, so much information, so many twists and turns. Her brain hurt. She needed to get home and see her mom- er, her adopted mom? Rosalie? Ruby didn't know what to call her, at this point. This was all so surreal.

"But...what about Cassidy? Where is she now?"

The animatronics- er, ghosts, all exchanged glances. "We don't know. We...we think she passed on, but we can't know for sure." Freddy told her. Ruby nodded, still...amazed? Shocked? Ruby didn't quite know the words.

"Are ye going to be okay, lass?" Foxy asked. This was probably one of the first times Ruby had seen him act...comforting. It was nice, really.

Ruby smiled softly. "I...I think so. I'll talk to my mom and Raven. Maybe I'll get more answers that way." She picked up the adoption papers that Freddy handed her and stood up, brushing some dirt off her light red pleated skirt. "I'm going to head off now. Thank you so much, guys. Seriously." Ruby hugged Chica, who had stepped forward. It was a lot better, knowing that she was hugging an actual human being. Or, a ghost. Either or.

Ruby sighed, and stepped out of the room. It was time to face the truth, whether she liked it or not.

A/N

*munches popcorn* Well that was exciting.

I asked my boyfriend for ways to brutally murder someone and he put on an autotune voice mod and stated different ways to stab people. Very useful.

Oh, and William said that line! 'you can't'. Very inspiring. Really motivating.

A nice long chapter, we haven't had that in a while. And golly gee, looks like there's five more chapters. Or two more chapters till the three-part finale of fnaf 2. I'm very excited!

Question/Challenge: What's your favourite season? I think my favourite is summer, though it's kind of annoying right now with the heat. Still fun though! My birthday's in August as well.

Have an amazing day/night!
