Another day had passed again in this new realm for the Slayer. The Slayer wasn't exactly sure the exact time he had been here, but it had reached the first week. And let's just say, this week was very underwhelming. He was not getting anywhere during his time here. And it wasn't like he really COULD get anywhere. This area was more modern and not futuristic like his world. Nothing here seemed to be of use to him. He hit a huge roadblock. So he was spending his time thinking. He was up high above a building to keep away from any demon in this realm. He was creating a lot of unwanted attention now and knew that once he stepped foot on the streets again he would get recognized. And by what he has noticed, the demons would try to interact with him and he didn't want that. He had his helmet off and...was breathing the hell air I guess. And upon the building, the Slayer kept looking over the area, until he heard some odd noises coming from behind him. He slightly turned his head to see a figure form behind him.
Earlier...
Alastor was humming a tune as he proceeded down the halls of the hotel. He was ready to venture out into Hell to take care of some business. He stopped in his tracks in the hallway as he passed Husk's room. He knocked a few times on the door. No answer. He knocked a few more times again. No answer. He then went to open the door but it was locked. In most situations, he would just find a way to break the door but that would look bad for the hotel and most likely make Charlie upset. So he called upon his doppelgänger shadow to assist him.
"Go open the door so we can wake our good little friend up," Alastor said to the shadow. It nodded back and went under the door frame. Alastor looked at his hand until he heard the click of the lock being changed. He opened the door to find Husk passed out on the bed, most likely from a hangover. "Very good you. I will take it from here!" He said as his shadow went away. He stood at the edge of the bed and saw that Husk seemed knocked out. So he used his powers to raise Husk in the air and move him out into the brighter hallway. He held his hand out keeping Husk in the air, and then dropped him with a loud
THUD
"ACK WHAT THE FUCK?" Husk exclaimed as he opened his eyes but then shut them as the bright light blinded him. He did feel some pain throughout the lower half of his body as he did fall on a hard surface.
"Good morning Husker! Or I suppose I should say afternoon, my that was quite the spill you just had," Alastor said as he was standing in the doorway.
"Oh yeah quite a spill wasn't it? Clearly it wasn't one you were responsible for as last time I checked, I was on my bed!" Husk said as he growled and pointed a finger at Alastor. Although he was still getting his eyesight back.
"Well that is quite the assumption by yourself! Turns out you still got some sense in that alcohol infused head of yours," Alastor said as he leaned downwards to meet Husk's eye line better.
"Well clearly it ain't been doing a good job if I do still got some sense," Husk said rubbing his head and remaining on the floor.
"Such a shame isn't it? Now Husk, are you once again planning on sleeping the whole day away?" Alastor said leaning against his cane.
"Maybe I was, maybe I wasn't. Do you have a problem with how much I decide to sleep?" Husk was clearly not in the mood for this right now, especially after getting woken up so abruptly
"Well you cannot be useful and productive that way can you? But no matter, since you are up now, you can come with me, we have something to do!" Alastor said as he finally seemed to get to the point of why he did this in the first place.
Husk let out an audible groan. "Why can't you ever get Niffty to go with you?" he said as he still made no attempt to get up.
"Because you are a more qualified candidate for the job," while Alastor spoke, a collar formed around Husk's neck that was connected to a long chain that Alastor had the end to to. While he spoke he yanked on the chain which brought Husk closer to him.
Husk let out a strangled breath as Alastor yanking the chain sort of choked him. "F-Fine. What the fuck is the job even?"
"All will be revealed in due time," Alastor replied as he made the chain disappear. "Now come on, time waits for no man or FELINE!" Alastor said in a loud tone. He started to walk away from Husk and down the hallway. He didn't have to tell Husk to follow him, Husk kind of just knew.
Husk started to rub his neck with his paw and let out a loud sigh as he knew he had to go, "Too fucking early for shit like this." He mainly spoke to himself as Alastor was out of earshot now. And he mostly wouldn't hear him as music began to play. Husk rolled his eyes and got up to his feet and reluctantly began to follow Alastor. Although, Alastor wasn't really waiting for him to catch up as he was already out the doors to the hotel. He eventually got there and pushed open the doors to see Alastor rubbing two of his fingers together.
"Oh, you made it out here faster than I expected. No dilly dally out of you today it seems," Alastor said with a smug grin.
"Sure. Let's just get this fucking over with," Husk responded in a cold tone.
(Some time later)
The two demons had been walking for some time now, mostly in silence. Husk was completely pissed off the whole time and wasn't in to chatty of a mood. But of course, even in his silence, he couldn't help but wonder what this was all about. "So, do you wanna tell me NOW what you dragged me out here for?" Husk asked as Alastor was not being very informative.
"Husker my dear servant, don't you just want to take a break from your normal life and just go on a relaxing stroll? Every day can't just be spent drinking the days away at that pitiful bar," Alastor responded as he was one who enjoyed his daily stroll.
"Are you shitting me? You really brought me out here on some fucking walk like we're some kind of fucking married couple?" Husk exclaimed.
"Would that be so bad?" Alastor asked with a large smile as he always liked to get Husk all worked up.
"You're a fucking riot," Husk said with a roll of his eyes.
"BUT fear not my dear friend. Now that I have had my fun with you, I can tell you honestly that a simple stroll is not the real reason we are out here on this fine afternoon," Alastor said placing an arm around Husk's shoulder.
"Then what the FUCK IS it?" Husk asked again. He moved his shoulders to get Alastor's arm off of him.
"Patience Husker. Patience is a virtue," Alastor said returning his arm to his side.
"I wish for one damn day where you don't do this shit around me. I'm not a damn detective that can sniff out all these subtle clues you give me," Husk said.
"Because where is the fun in that? And are you telling me you do not receive any assistance from your feline senses?" Alastor asked, but he pretty much knew what Husk would say in response.
"I don't HAVE feline senses for the last damn time," Husk responded. He still wasn't a fan of his demon form and declined any sort of cat-like mannerism that could occur with him.
"Hold on a moment my dear Husker," Alastor said as he put an arm up in front of Husk to get him to stop in place.
"What the fuck is it now?" Husk asked as he was getting annoyed by the abrupt stops in this "trip."
"Do my eyes deceive me?" Alastor said with a slight squint of his eyes and an adjustment of his monocle.
"I don't know. I can't tell what you are trying to look at," Husk said as he folded his arms and looked at Alastor looking up. "Are ya lookin' for a fuckin bird or something? What the fuck are you doing?"
"My eyes do not deceive me after all," Alastor spoke as he summoned his cane and pointed it to the top of a building. Right towards the Slayer. "It is that human again."
Husk looked up in the direction that the cane was pointing and also saw the Slayer at the edge of the building. They both could see that his helmet was off his head, but he was too far away to where you could make out his face. "So it fucking is. What is the big deal about that?"
"This could be quite interesting Husker. I smell a big opportunity," Alastor said towards Husk.
"What kind of big opportunity are you even seeing here?" Husk before Alastor could fully hear all of that, he seemed to teleport away. "Anddddddd he's fucking gone. Mother fucker just leaves without fucking saying anything and expects me to twiddle my fucking thumbs and wait for his ass?" Husk spoke, mainly to himself as he felt like letting off some steam.
Upon the building, the Slayer kept looking over the area, until he heard some odd noises coming from behind him. He slightly turned his head to see a figure form behind him and went for his helmet and placed it back over his head. He got off his knee and stood up and turned around to see Alastor once again. This proved to him that this Alastor had powers as there is no way that this demon climbed up this building.
"Well hello again, I thought I had spotted you all the way up here," Alastor spoke. He almost got a good look at the Slayer's face, but only saw the back of his head, which was covered in short black and brownish hair. "Did you really climb all the way up here? That's quite impressive." He said before slowly walking towards the Slayer. The Slayer eyed him down with every step he took. "I hope you don't consider this a complete intrusion as you were probably not up here for NO reason. But our last conversation felt quite abrupt and I think we could help each other out in the long run." He let out a tsk as he looked around and didn't see his servant. "Well, it appears my good friend has not yet made his appearance. I suppose I could lend him a hand."
The Slayer watched and heard a snap of Alastor's fingers. He saw a light flash and now saw a demon he had not seen before. It was Husk. Husk held a hand to his head and grimaced as it was a trippy process. Husk opened his eyes and looked around and saw Alastor next to him.
"And of course you decided to teleport me again. I suppose I should have expected that," Husk sighed as he really should have expected it.
"Well Husker, you seemed as if you were making no such attempt to come up here. Never seeming to use those wings of yours for their true potential," Alastor answered. He used his cane and smacked one of Husk's wings, causing them to retract in natural reaction.
"I fly when I feel like it, you know that shit," Husk said pressing a claw to Alastor's chest.
"NOW, now sourpuss, this is not the time. Especially in front of our newcomer," Alastor responded. He slapped Husk's hand away as he did not like being touched.
Husk looked over with his annoyed look and located the Doom Slayer standing at the edge of the building staring at him. "Yeah I'm fucking aware this guy is here, you just pointed him out on the damn ground, which is where I'd like to be right now. And what is your damn obsession with him? Didn't you fucking say that he doesn't talk?"
"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. Find out for yourself," Alastor said with a grin.
Husk groaned and slowly looked over at the Slayer. The Slayer had not made any motion since he was brought up here. Husk did not look scared at all while looking at the Slayer. Yes, the guy was very big and somewhat intimidating looking, but Husk didn't give enough of a shit. Would he try and pick a fight with the guy? Probably not. Perhaps if they all knew the Slayer's true power, they would all be very scared.
"Well considering the fact that he is just fucking staring at us and hasn't said a damn word, I'm assuming he doesn't," Husk said, coming to a conclusion.
"VERY accurate conclusion Husker. But he may not share his communication skills, he still has his hearing," Alastor said.
"Are you even fucking sure about that? Maybe that's a reason he doesn't speak, maybe he's just fucking deaf," Husk said folding his arms.
"That is not an impossible conclusion. BUT, I have never seen a deaf person look the way he does. Besides, he seems to respond when spoken to, so he must be able to hear us," Alastor said, which wasn't a bad point.
"Well who fucking cares. What is the point in trying to talk with him?" Husk asked.
"In time you will know," Alastor said.
The Slayer started to turn around and look back towards the streets of hell. He was thinking about walking away and leaving these two demons to continue their banter. He was looking down at the street as he was preparing to jump down, but something caught his ear.
"Well sorry Alastor, he's fuckin' leaving," Husk said. He expected Alastor to do something or make any motion to get him to stop, but Alastor looked calm and quite confident. He saw him looking over his hand and his sharp claws before speaking.
"You seem to be searching for something. Is that an incorrect statement?" Alastor said as he finally looked up. Husk and Alastor both saw as the Slayer's head moved upwards and slowly looked back towards them. While he said nothing, his body language could speak words. Alastor's attention-getter was working. "I can take that as a yes," he spoke. He put his arms behind his back and began to slowly pace around. "You desire something...as most of us do. Unfortunately, your silence makes it hard to figure out what. A human in Hell...you don't seem to belong here, that much is certain. And judging by your somewhat...abrupt reaction, you surely desire something. And a man like you is quite entertaining. I have seen some of the things you have done. Killed multiple demons, tossed... HUSKER, what is the name of that demon again? The one who appeared at the hotel when we first arrived. The serpent."
"Fucking Sir Pentious?" Husk answered although he wasn't completely confident in that answer as he wasn't good with names. Mostly cause he was probably drunk when he first learned it.
"That is right," Alastor said. The Slayer could hear sounds of static and feedback. "You are obviously new and most likely do not know who I am outside of our brief conversation. So, once again, I am Alastor, a very well-known demon around Hell. Isn't that right Husker?"
"Sure, whatever," Husk answered half-heartedly.
"Aw come on Husker, I need more enthusiasm out of you than that. Why don't you truly introduce me to our newcomer here," Alastor said as he tried to intimdate him to get him to do what he wants.
"And why the fuck can't you? If anyone knows you, it's YOU," Husk answered.
"Well of course I know myself, but there can be no bias involved in that answer. You are acting as a third party," Alastor said again.
Husk let out a sigh."Yes, this is Alastor, the fucking Radio Demon. Probably the strongest demon in all of Hell. Someone who likes to make a LOT of fucking deals. I am a product of one of his deals," Husk looked over at Alastor as he would most likely be stuck in Alastor's deal forever.
"Precisely! And with my power, I can give you want. Of course, nothing comes free in this world. If I do this for you, you would need to do something for me. And with a person like yourself, you seem to be quite capable," Alastor said. He could tell by the Slayer's body language that he was becoming interested, or at least paying attention to what was being said to him. "Of course, that would require you to actually speak and let me know what exactly you desire."
"Didn't know you were a miracle worker all of a sudden," Husk said from the back.
"Who says I am not?" Alastor responded with a devious smile. "As I was saying earlier I can give you what you desire most in this hellish landscape. See I don't know if your desire is to kill everyone you meet, which I greatly respect if that is the case. Or you wish to grow power in this realm like all the other overlords and entrepreneurs down here. And you wouldn't have to give your life savings away to get it. No, no, no, a deal is all it takes, a deal that can help us both out tremendously. The can reach a wide variety of things. It could be something small such as I do this for you and you do this for me type of deal. Or something bigger than that. I help you and you help me when you are called upon. All you have to do is break that silence of yours and we can get rolling."
The Slayer's gears were turning here. Maybe this demon was being legit in what he was saying. He could get back to his own world or at least gain something in finding out how he could.
"I hope you fully understand the situation laid out for you here. I would see this as a prime opportunity for you as we could really do wonders for one another. You help me, and I can help you. Simple as that. Do we have a deal?" Alastor asked as he held out his hand. The area seemed to become bright, which caused the Slayer to briefly shut his eyes and he wasn't prepared for that to happen. The Slayer could also feel air blowing past him on his exposed skin, similar to wind. He then opened his eyes to see green trails filling the air. He looked all around to watch where they went. After that moment of curiosity, he then stared down at Alastor's hand, which was still held out to him. He then raised his own hand and looked it over.
More thoughts began to race through his mind. Could this demon be of service to him? Get him out of here? Actually, allow him to get back to his world? He seemed quite powerful in some sense. Maybe he could be capable. But, this demon was making it seem like he would have to do favors for him and the Slayer wasn't too keen on trusting others and doing their favors. Had bad experiences in that field. He then came to a decision. The Slayer began to approach Alastor, which caused Alastor to grin as he fully believed the Slayer was going to accept this deal and shake his hand. The Slayer stopped right in front of Alastor and looked down on him. The Slayer leaned his upper body downward and looked Alastor right in the eyes, before doing something unexpected. Using his voice.
"No." Doomguy said, which caught Alastor and Husk off guard as he just spoke for the first time. Alastor could see his eyes now as he was really up close and personal. He could see the complete angry and serious look he was getting from this large man and the deep, brooding voice was kind of expected for a man like him. But in other news, to the Slayer, this felt like a time when he needed to be heard.
The Slayer turned around and walked back towards the edge of the building. If he was going to get out of here, he would figure it out, not get involved in some deal. Although he wouldn't totally dismiss the idea. He stored it in the back of his mind as a mega fail-safe if he couldn't figure anything out. He really didn't want to get help from anyone. He had a feeling that this Alastor was going to try and play him like a flute if he accepted. But whose to say that the Slayer couldn't play him if he accepted. Got what he wanted and said ADIOS to Alastor. Cause what would this demon do if he didn't hold up his end of the deal? Kill him? Beat him senseless? As if. The Slayer would snap his legs if he tried that. But whose to say that this demon couldn't do that to the Slayer as well. It would be a decision he would have to really think about if he did accept this deal. But that was for another time. He didn't want it to come to that as he wouldn't be used for dirty work anymore.
He then jumped off the building and landed on the pavement with a superhero landing. He then began to walk away from said building. Alastor's grin was gone now as he walked to the edge of the building to see the Slayer walking off.
"Well...that was...well, I take it that didn't go according to plan boss?" Husk asked even though he knew the answer. He tried to hold in the grin on his face as hard as he could as he found it a bit hysterical that Alastor's deal with this man backfired like that.
"It did not go as expected. But-," In that instant, Alastor teleported himself and Husker back on the ground, "Life does go on. And that wasn't our main business, after all, just a small detour. So come along now."
"I had a strong fucking feeling that it was the reason," Husk said as he was shaking off the effects of being teleported again.
"No, no, no. I had no idea that man would be present up there. Besides, did it seem like he was expecting us?" Alastor asked.
"Fair point," Husk responded with a small sigh. As they both started to walk again, Husk began to think once again of why he was out here. "It would still be fucking nice if you would explain what we're doing and WHY you needed me," he said as he trailed behind Alastor.
"I do not have to explain my choice of actions to you. It is business and you were the perfect choice of the job!" Alastor responded. "All will become clear momentarily. When we are venturing to one of my favorite places in all of hell."
"I get a really bad fucking feeling of going to a place that you enjoy. With you being...you," Husk said.
"Oh calm yourself, it will be quite fun," Alastor said.
"I swear to fucking satan if it's that damn place full of those cannibals," Husk said, which got a huge smile from Alastor.
"And you told me you don't have any feline senses!" Alastor exclaimed.
Hazbin Hotel
Angel let out a big stretch of his arms and also a large yawn as he entered the hotel lobby and plopped himself down on one of the couches. He then sat there and decided to browse the web on his phone until he found something else to do. But it didn't take long for someone to enter the room as Charlie came in holding a folder under her arm.
"Oh hello Angel," Charlie said as she greeted him.
"Afternoon toots," Angel said with a mini salute. "I see ya got this whole lobby squared away."
"Yep we did," Charlie said. Although some awkward silence came between them. Angel looked up from his phone and looked toward Charlie who placed his folder on the bar.
"What?" Angel asked as Charlie seemed like she didn't want to say it. "Sumthing came up yesterday with work. Sorry, I had to bail, but work is work."
"I know Angel. I know you can't control that. I keep trying to get Alastor to help with that but he won't budge," Charlie said.
"Figures. He's too high and mighty to do something like that," Angel said and then sat back on the couch. "Is smiles even here? Feels like I have barely seen anyone today."
"I don't believe so. I thought I saw him and Husk go out. Not quite sure for what," Charlie said.
"Alastor probably dragged Husk along then," Angel said as he came up with an accurate conclusion.
"What makes you say that?" Charlie asked.
"I doubt Husk would willingly agree to just go out with smiles," Angel said.
"Well, you're probably right about that," Charlie responded. After she answered, the conversation died again. So she tried to get back on to the big topic. Charlie then decided to keep her folder on the bar and walked over to a nearby chair. "I just don't understand why Valentino always needs you so often. You should have some type of time to do what you want. And we won't ever be able to start your rehabilitation with that going on."
"Who fuckin' knows. Fucking assholes uses his property as much as he wants. Not like I can do jack shit. And for some reason he got extra pissed off today because I was around that human," Angel said as he folded his arms.
"That human in the armor?" Charlie asked but quickly regretted it.
"Is there more than one human in hell now? Especially one who wears armor?" Angel said sarcastically.
"Right, dumb question. When were you around him?" Charlie asked now.
"Well after I had to, ya know, ditch y'all, I had to meet him on a corner. All of a sudden this big, tank of a man comes down the sidewalk," Angel began.
"Did you talk to him?" Charlie asked.
"Tried to get in his pants, didn't fucking work. Alastor's general assessment of the man was one hundred percent correct. Angry, doesn't talk, strong, and whatnot. For some damn reason, Val saw us together and acted like I was cheatin' on him or sum shit. Like we were some fuckin couple. And I have no idea why. Val acts like this guy is a major threat to him," Angel said. He made himself frustrated thinking about it.
"Yeah that doesn't make any sense at all," Charlie said. She always did feel bad for Angel, she could never really learn what that felt like, as most people would leave her alone when she was growing up to not piss off Lucifer Morningstar and bring the holy hellfire down on them. "Are you doing okay Angel?"
"I mean it's fucking whatever. Same shit different day. Probably just take out my anger by blasting a couple of fucks who step on my turf. That's usually a good stress relief," Angel responded with a shoulder shrug.
"Angel, you can't just go out and kill at will. There has got to be a better way for you to release that anger than blasting gangbangers," Charlie said with a concerned expression.
"Well, what else can I do? This is hell after all? Maybe I'd do a line or two, BUT you and Vaggie are always against that. Not really in the mood to fuck my anger away so like, what can I do?" Angel asked.
"That's what we are here to do. What this hotel is designed to do. When you feel that anger, we try and direct it to new paths," Charlie answered.
"Yeah I am well aware of that," Angel responded. "But I would go out on a large limb here to tell ya that Valentino will probably call upon me tonight as well. So I'll have to put on my gold tooth smile once again."
"I have kind of been thinking about this and wondered what your take on it was. Yes, I know that Valentino has a soul contract set in place on you, but what if you just take permanent shelter here and just ignore when he calls for you. You could be safe here in case he tried to do something," Charlie suggested.
"Well that would seem nice, wouldn't it? But I couldn't stand being cooped up inside here every day, probably would blow my own brains out. And because of that reason, he'd eventually find me. But even so, I fuckin doubt me being here would stop him. He'd blow the walls off this place and probably hurt all of you too. Even though I've done a lot of fucked up shit, I don't know if I could live with something like that on my conscience. So just gotta deal with it," Angel responded. "But I'm gonna hit the town, as I said, I don't like to be cooped up here forever."
"Well alright. You are not going to do anything terrible are you?" Charlie asked as Angel never specified what he was doing.
"No promises toots," Angel said with a wink of his eye and a gold tooth smile.
"Angel," Charlie said in a more serious but still somewhat playful tone.
"Alright, alright, I will try NOT to blow anyone up. But I was being brutally honest in the no promises part," Angel said, placing a few of his hands in his jacket's pocket.
"I'll take that then," Charlie said as she gave him a faint smile.
"Buona giornata," Angel said in Italian and gave Charlie a sarcastic bow before leaving through the doors of the hotel. When both of them were shut and he was well within hearing distance, he pulled a revolver out of his jacket and checked to see if was fully loaded, which it was. "I did say no promises after all." He said to himself before stowing it back in his jacket and proceeding with his day.
