"W-WAIT!" Charlie yelled out as she hurried along to catch up to the Slayer. For a big guy, he moved fast, even when he was walking. Not that Charlie thought he was fat cause he clearly wasn't. But it sure didn't help her by the fact she was carrying a bunch of fliers in her hands and had to do a kind of awkward run to make sure she didn't drop them. "HOLD ON a second." She called out to him. She figured the man could hear her as she was definitely in ear shot. She then assumed he was just ignoring her and just kept on his way. She kept her pace and passed him on the left and decided to try to halt his feet by standing in front of him and placing a hand on his body. "Please. I just...wanna talk...is all." She said as she took a few seconds to collect herself as well as her breathing. After she did that, she looked up to see that the Slayer was glaring down at her. She also noticed that her hand was still on the part of his armor where his pecs would be. "O-OOPS. Sorry." Charlie quickly removed her hand of his armor after saying that.
The Slayer realized that this was that princess of this Hell. The daughter of that Lucifer, who he found incredibly annoying. Always seemed to be the same spiel with that guy. Don't do this, don't do that, how can you do this, how can you do that, I'll kill you and so on. He expected this conversation to be more of the same and he wasn't in much of a mood to hear it. Until she said the word 'sorry'. A person in Hell actually apologized. Maybe it wouldn't be a similar conversation after all.
"Whew. H-Hi there. We haven't really had a chance to talk annnd I haven't really introduced myself. I am Charlie, Charlie Morningstar, Princess of Hell. First off, thanks for the...assist back there. I am not what many would consider as a 'instigator', when things like that occur, I try to hold back so I won't do something I will regret, especially to those who...who I'm trying to get interested in my hotel. But it's Hell and that doesn't come easy at times," she said with a bit of a nervous tone as it felt so weird to talk to this man. Him being so popular and the fact that you just have this tank staring right down at you gives you an uneasy feeling. "Oh. Sorry, I'm rambling with details you probably don't care about hearing."
It was a pretty accurate statement as the Slayer didn't have much care for what she was saying to him. He didn't know why this girl would try and hold back against those who try to attack her. That's like letting a bully keep on attacking you and not doing a thing about it. A bully will just keep on coming after you because they know you won't do anything back. Makes them feel powerful, until you put them in their place. It's why the Slayer doesn't have any of those. But the Slayer has a hard time seeing things through others point of view. He knows how strong and powerful he is, and no one could push him around. But he has to remember that others act differently than him.
"Don't worry, I have heard all the things about you already. The one important one being that you do not talk, which I find really interesting as I don't really meet many people who don't speak. Well, I guess I also have never met someone who doesn't speak before. But there's a first time for everything! It also is really interesting to finally see a real human for the first time. I've always been interested in humans and their culture as I have never seen one before as I have always lived down in Hell. And I don't really count all the sinner demons who were once human as humans that I have seen before," She explained.
Charlie had no idea of knowing that the Slayer already knew some of those things about Hell due to her dad laying it out for him. So, he expected to hear some of the same things again. But Charlie realized she was starting to ramble again and stopped herself. She was trying to figure out what she wanted to say next as all those demons were right. It is a bit awkward to have a one-sided conversation with someone. So, she decided it was best to get to the point. To get to something that has been on her mind since the human has been here.
"So, I've noticed that every time I have seen you, you're always by yourself, always wandering, with really no place to go. Doesn't seem like you have a home or anything." She said but realized that was a stupid thing to say. "Well, I mean why would you. It's not like you have money to buy a place and pay rent being a human and all. A-And I'm not trying to insult you by saying you don't have any friends or-or anything." Charlie said. She didn't want to make him angry as she knows what happens when you do that.
Doomguy still couldn't believe that this place had a currency system. You figured that everyone would just try to rob everyone. And most of the time you couldn't make the Slayer angry with petty insults such as saying he had no friends. Most of the time he ignores it.
Charlie took a breath as once again she was straying away from the point. "It seems that most of the demons here have been very cold towards you. Which I guess is kind of normal in this place but I feel like they may be a little more colder towards you in particular. I have seen the things on the news as well as stuff on social media about you. I've seen things about demons trying to kill you and...about how you are quite strong. I mean I guess that is obvious right?" She said with a nervous smile as she tried to lighten the mood with a joke. It did not make the mood any lighter. "Anyways. Demons are not really that friendly at times and especially when humans are brought into the mix even though they use to be one which is...ironic. But I can assure you I am not like most demons down here. I like to help others. And if you want...I'd be willing to help you too."
Well, that was not what the Slayer expected to hear. At least for now, she was actually offering to help him without asking for something back. But that seemed suspicious. Usually there is a catch where this princess will most likely want something from him in return. He decided he would keep on listening to see what she is going to propose to him and see if she can actually help him out.
"You see, I run a place called the Hazbin Hotel! Now usually it's suppose to be for those who wish to better themselves on the path of redemption and what not but you are definitely a special case. Because of that, I'd be willing to offer you a room of your own so you'd at least you would have somewhere to go and not have to wander the streets of Hell. And while you're there, I'd be willing to help you with whatever problems you would like. Maybe you have questions? Concerns?" Charlie questioned. But she decided to shift this proposal to a more deeper subject than before. "Also...I can't help but notice the personality you put out. Very little emotion, extreme anger, complete silence. I have never met someone like that or ever heard of someone like that before. What I have heard about the humans up above, a lot of them aren't like that either, and I'm not trying to say the way you are is a bad thing. A point that I made when I first saw you in person was that fact that no one is born to be only angry at the world around them, bad things probably happened to get them there and I feel like bad things happened to you. I promise you I don't judge, so I would gladly be able to try and help you work out any issues you have. Maybe it's what you need to finally be at peace." Charlie said as she finally got out the main point of this discussion.
The Slayer turned his head to the side as he was running the words through his head about what she just said to him. She offered to give him a room of his own but, more importantly, she wanted to help him with his problems. And not his problems of getting out of this realm, but his mental issues, and he had a whole lot of those. That wasn't something that anybody ever offered the Slayer. He did most things on his own and was prepared to do everything on his own. That's why he was so surprised to see Valen show up as well as the army he had brought with him to help him defeat the forces of hell. In his journey as the Doom Slayer, it felt like the ones that did help him became his enemies in the end, like Samuel Hayden, the Hell Priests in a way, and the Night Sentinels. Just to name a few. The only one who seemed different was that intern he met on the ARC.
The Slayer really didn't know what to do now or how he should react to this, for once in a very long time, the Slayer was stumped. But this still didn't sit right with him, it was hard to earn the Slayer's trust. He then turned back towards Charlie and slowly walked closer to her. Charlie wasn't sure if she said something wrong or what was about to happen, from how powerful Hell has made this man seem, even if she didn't hold back, she doubt she could take him. Hell, she hadn't really been in powerful fights with super powerful beings so she had no idea what would happen. But nothing violent happened after all. What did happen was something she definitely didn't expect to hear.
"Why?" The Slayer spoke in a deep and angry tone. He really wanted an answer to that question. Why? Why did she want to help him with that? Was it for some other purpose? The help that he had gotten from others didn't end up so good.
Charlie was taken back by that only because she was never expecting him to actually speak to her. She actually was able to get a word out of him. Because of that, she now had to come up with a response. "Well, it's pretty simple really. I like to help others who need it. It just...makes me feel good inside when others feel good. Whatever pain you have, whatever pain you are going through, you don't need to suffer through it," She responded, still taken back from the fact he just spoke.
Unfortunately for her, that is all the Hellwalker would even say to her. He didn't feel like having a long chat after he did say something to someone. He started to believe that this princess was really speaking the truth when she said she wanted to help him. She had yet to ask for anything in return, which really felt strange as usually everyone asks for something back. He still thought something was up but thought about some benefits to accepting this proposal. According to her he would have his room which could be useful as a private place for himself so he had a place to think and not be bothered all the time. Another benefit was that this Charlie was the princess of this realm so she probably has powers of her own and she most likely knows the way things work in this realm. That could be useful in finding a way out. As for her trying to help him with all the mental trauma he held, he truly believed there was no fixing that.
"Sooooo. What do you say? If you'd like, I would be happy to show you the way," Charlie offered with a big smile as she didn't get much of a response to the last statement.
The Slayer decided he would see where this went. If she wanted him to do something in order for her to help him, he would just fucking leave. No one could stop him from doing anything he wanted to do. He wouldn't use his voice this time and decided to communicate in a different way. With his hands. He used his right arm to give Charlie the hand signal of "Lead the way." Which Charlie understood.
"Great! Follow me, I'll take you to the Hap- I mean Hazbin Hotel," Charlie said catching herself as she does that a lot because she was so used to the Happy Hotel.

"Damn what did that billboard do to you?" Angel asked with a grin as Cherri just launched a bomb at a billboard and took a big chunk out of it.
"It had it coming," Cherri said as she was juggling another bomb in her hands as she was thinking of throwing another.
"I'm always impressed by your dead-on accuracy with those things. You should have gone fucking pro," Angel said.
"Aw thanks," Cherri said. "Now watch this shit." She said as she threw the bomb up in the air and used her knee to hit the bomb back up in the air before spinning completely around, snatching it in the air and chucked it back at the same billboard and destroyed it completely.
"Wowwwww," Angel said as she gave her a golf clap with his two top hands as his bottom arms were holding Fat Nuggets. "Showing off, are we?"
"Fuck yeah," Cherri said she then did a double take as she she spotted a very familiar face. "No fucking way, is that who I think it is?" She pointed ahead so Angel could see that Sir Pentious was coming their way.
"Oh that god damn snake. Haven't seen him in a while," Angel said.
"Neither have I. Awww he doesn't look happy to see us," Cherri said as she saw Pentious's reaction to spotting them. Pentious knew there was no way to avoid him.
"He knows we're about to give him a ton of shit," Angel said.
"Cause we fucking are," Cherri said. She was the first one to speak as the three demons crossed paths. "Holy fuck old man. Been a fucking month since I've seen your slithery ass around hell," she kind of forgot about him.
"Oh look, it's my favorite two demons in hell," Sir Pentious said with an obvious tone of sarcasm.
"Holy shit we are? Damn that makes all our fights pretty fucking awkward," Angel responded with a large grin as he clearly detected the sarcasm.
"I wassn't being serious simpleton," Pentious responded as he believed Angel fell for a joke.
"He fucking knows that you fucking idiot," Cherri said as it was almost sad with him being as smart as he was and also really dumb at the same time. "Where the fuck you been? I've gotten bored from not having to kick your ass of my territory."
"Yeah, you finally decided to call it quits on yer little hell takeover plan?" Angel asked.
"No and NO. I have...been...keeping a low profile if that's what you wanna call it," Pentious said as he lowered his voice as he didn't find it very mastermind like to be laying low.
"Ha! Laying low? What you murder someone and are hoping the cops don't find ya?" Cherri asked as that didn't make sense in a place like hell.
"Probably doesn't realize there ain't no cops in hell," Angel said joining in on the fun.
"SHUT THE HELL UP. Do you two have to be so obnoxious?" Pentious asked as he was very annoyed.
"Only to you gramps," Cherri said with a grin.
"Ya still haven't answered the question," Angel said getting back to the point.
"Kind of hard for me to do so when you two keep throwing out pathetic insults one AFTER another!" Pentious responded.
"Alright we will stop. So care to share?" Cherri asked.
"Well, I had a plan of mine...go wrong. A failed experiment, but what great inventor doesn't go through those once an a while," Pentious said as he was trying to avoid the real reason, but that logic was about to get busted.
"So, you were layin' low cause you fucked up some type of science experiment? How the fuck does that make sense?" Angel asked as Pentious's answer really didn't make any sense.
"Well, it wasssn't much of a science experiment. It was an experiment done...on someone else. Someone who I NOW KNOW is quite powerful, someone who is quite new to hell, and has been heavily talked about," Pentious said dropping some obvious hints.
"THE HUMAN?" Cherri asked as she was wondering what kind of experiment that human would have let done on him.
"Yes, that human," Pentious responded.
"What kind of things ya do to him? Have him strip down naked so you could measure his muscles or his cock and balls?" Angel asked.
"You are sick! Of course, I did NOTHING OF that sort. My experiment was a test on him. After the things you said," Pentious said as he pointed at Cherri,"during our last encounter about this human becoming an enemy of mine. I decided to conduct a test of how powerful this new enemy of mine is. Sssso I have other demons test it for me."
"Hold the fuck up." Cherri said as she was now doing the pointing,"It was you! What that one fucking demon on the news was freaking out about. You're the one who orchestrated that hit on the human! No fucking way!" Cherri said as that was humorous to her.
"IT WAS NOT A HIT IT WAS AN EXPERIMENT!" Pentious said as he was still trying to sound technical.
"So those demons did that shit for free cause they love science?" Angel asked as Cherri was still laughing.
"No. I was going to compensate each and every one of them for their services," Pentious answered.
"SO THEN IT'S A FUCKING HIT. I don't know if ya know this shit, but I grew up in the fuckin mob. I know what a hit is and that was a hit," Angel said.
"The whole point of it was for me to observe and find any type of weaknesses I could exploit if we should take battle," Pentious said proudly.
"Oh yeah sounds like you fucking found them all right," Angel said.
"Ya, did you fucking find any weaknesses? According to that one guy, there were none," Cherri said as this was the first time she spoke before she started laughing.
"N-No. I did not. I was watching the whole fight over a feed," Pentious said.
"Oh really? So were those things true about him?" Cherri asked.
"Yess it seemed to be true. Thisss human was practically invincible," Pentious answered.
"You are such a fucking dork," Cherri said.
"And what have I done to be given the title of a dork?" Pentious asked.
"Because I wasn't being fucking serious when I said that dude would be after your skin. That guy probably doesn't have any fucking clue of who you are," Cherri said as usually the most famous of people only knew other famous people.
"Yeah, he's like the most popular person in hell right about now and you...well yer not even close to that," Angel said as he tried to come up with a creative insult.
"OH SHUT IT. It would be so much better if you were like your brother, then I wouldn't have to listen to your annoying voice all the time!" Pentious said.
Angel practically did a double take as that was an odd thing to hear. "Uh okay. How the fuck do you know I have a brother?"
"He wassss one of the demons that I hired to conduct my experiment," Pentious answered.
"Oh. Well, then I'd assume he's probably dead ain't he?" Angel asked. His tone went to a more serious one as he didn't know how he'd react if he got a yes.
"No, he was one of the two that actually survived and was a LOT more pleasant to be around than the likesssss of you," Pentious explained.
"Ha! You gotta be fucking with me cause I am way more fun to be around then my brother Niss. He's a real stick in the mud," Angel responded.
"I am not, and I fully agree with him CALLING YOU A ssssshit head," Pentious said repeating words from Arackniss.
"Hmph. Maybe you are telling the truth after all," Angel said with a shrug as that did sound like something his brother would call him.
"Oh no Pent, what are ya gonna do to get back at Angel now you know their related? Fuck his brother?" Cherri asked.
"Cherri I don't need that image in my head," Angel said.
"I do not know how low you tramps think of someone like me, but anyone would be HONORED to bed with someone as GREAT as myself," Pentious said.
"God damn I've never seen someone ride their own cock before," Angel said as he was referring to the fact that Pentious saw himself as the greatest person to ever exist.
"I'm sorry what? That doesssn't even make any god damn ssssense," Pentious said in digust.
"Ha ha. Oh, old man you are always a fucking riot," Cherri said giving him a punch on the arm as she walked by him.
"OW, you bitch, I know you do not wish to wage war on me," Pentious said.
"Yeah you don't look like you're ready for war. You're about a hundred eggs short and down a few crappy machines. Fortunately for me, I always come prepared," Cherri said flashing a few bombs in her hands.
"She's got a point there Mr. Genius. Besides you slithered out of whatever hole you were staying in. I think you need time to regroup," Angel said. He kind of hoped that they didn't start a destructive war at the moment as he was afraid that Nuggets might get hurt in the crossfire.
"Alright. FINE. You make a fair point. Now that I know this human is not looking for me, I will strategize my next move. Both of your downfalls will come!" Pentious said.
"Looking forward to it. I need something to knock the rust off," Cherri said placing both her hands on her hips.
"Better make something good this time," Angel said as Pentious didn't bother saying anything else.
"What a fucking character he is," Cherri said as Angel walked back towards Angel.
Angel put Fat Nuggets on the ground to let him walk around, "Somehow he thought it was a good idea to put a hit out on that big fucking human. Still surprised that my brother actually tried to get in on that. Usually, he's smart when it comes to that stuff."
"Maybe he was down on money and was desperate," Cherri said as they both started walking again.
"I guess," Angel said.
"Or maybe he got a thing for the old man," Cherri said.
"Ha, yeah right. I don't think my brother swings that way. Homosexuality in the mob ain't exactly a welcoming thing," Angel said. It didn't seem to bother him though.
"Oh. Well, I don't think that...who the fuck is this?" Cherri said as there was a limousine pulling up to the curb.
"Of fucking course," Angel said under his breath as he knew that limo all too well.
"What? What's wrong?" Cherri said as she heard what Angel said.
"It's Val." Angel answered.
"Oh fuck no. Not this piece of shit," Cherri said as the limo came to a slow halt in front of them. They both watched as a demon in the front came walking around to the back and opened the back door of the limo. And out of the door came the infamous red smoke which always made Angel's skin crawl.
"Angel...just the demon I was thinking of," Valentino said from the backseat as he blew out another puff of smoke.
"He-Hey Val. What is going on?" Angel asked with a nervous smile. He picked up Fat Nuggets and held him close to make sure Valentino did nothing to him.
"Take a guess sweetheart. We have done this dance long enough for you to KNOW what is going on when I come and find you," Valentino responded.
Angel let out a small sigh to himself as he knew he had to go; he took a step towards the limo before feeling a hand on his chest. The hand was from Cherri.
"Fucking hell do you ever give Angie a break? Seems like you're always summoning him every other hour. He just went with you last night!" Cherri exclaimed coming at the defense of her friend. Cherri had never gotten a chance of her own to stick it to Valentino. She always wanted to cause she knew what a piece of shit he was and didn't try to back down now.
"Oh? Are we gossiping about me now Angel Cakes? I didn't take you for that type," Valentino said as he sat back focusing mainly on Angel who looked like a sad dog who had just done something wrong.
"You run a popular ass business. There is no fucking way you always need to force Angel to come in and do your fucked up shit," Cherri said coming at Valentino harder.
"LISTEN here you one-eyed BITCH. You are stepping into territory you shouldn't even be coming close to crossing. Go back to blowing up a whole ass fucking block of hell and I'll worry about my OWN property," Valentino responded harshly as he wanted to see if Cherri Bomb would dare to go farther. If this was truth or dare, Cherri just picked dare.
"Ha! You're lucky I have not taken myself over to your neck of the woods, otherwise I would topple that shit hole business with you in it. And Angel isn't property you fucker," Cherri said in response.
Valentino had enough and now emerged from his seat and stepped out of the limo and stood towering over Cherri with a mean look on his face. "Feisty bitch aren't you. I don't know if you've FUCKIN noticed but I'm not some retarded fucking snake who my left nut could beat on a weekly basis. So I suggest you take you take those big fucking tits of yours and fuck off back to THAT little shit hole you come from."
In Cherri's mind, it was too late to back out. She believed it would be a pussy move to try and run away now that she had the cojones to stand up to a powerful ass overlord. But a decision was about to be made for her as Angel lightly grabbed her shoulder.
"Cherri stop." Angel said as Cherri looked away from Valentino and to him. "Don't do something stupid for me. I'm..gonna go with Val."
"Come on Angel, there is no way he has to put you through it everyday," Cherri said.
"It's fine Cherri. Just take back Nuggets to the hotel for me," Angel said as he held out Nuggets in his arm for Cherri to take.
Cherri let out a sigh as she knew Angel wouldn't let her go through with fighting Valentino. And she thought about some of the ramifications if she did fight Valentino and lost. Besides dying, she might make Ange's life a living hell as Valentino might take out the rest of his anger on him. So she would grant his request. "Okay, I will."
"Hmph. Good thing Angel actually cares about your fucking bitch ass. Otherwise, your head would be splattered on this pavement," Valentino said with a sadistic grin on his face.
Cherri gave him the stink eye after he said that, emphasis on the eye, and watched as Angel reluctantly walked towards the open limo and got in. Valentino made sure Cherri wasn't going to do anything before following Angel into the limo.
She looked down at Fat Nuggets who let out a few oinks as he looked up at Cherri. She let out a sigh and began to venture to the Hazbin Hotel.
Elsewhere Again in Pentagram City
The journey back to the hotel was an eye-opening experience for Charlie that was for sure. She had never had people look so scared when she walked past them or do everything in their power to stay out of her way. Obviously, she knew it was due to the tank walking behind her, but still. If she imagined he wasn't there, it was an odd feeling. A feeling she didn't really like the more she thought of it. Being totally feared by everyone could have a perk or two as no one would want to mess with you, but then you may become extremely lonely as you could never gain new friends or start a love interest because no one dared to approach you. This made Charlie assume that this man was probably extremely lonely and had no one else but himself. She wanted to ask him more questions but didn't know if she'd even get another response out of him like before and all he said was just one word. She could consider that an honor for being one of the very few people in all of Hell to actually hear what he sounds like. Alastor and Husk were right, he did sound exactly like you would think he would. This also proves the theory that he completely understands what is being said to him and the fact that he can talk but chooses to be silent. Charlie really wanted to find out why, but for now, baby steps.
"That's the hotel up there," Charlie said as she pointed out the Hazbin Hotel right in front of them. "It was originally named the Happy hotel, but it went through a name change that I couldn't really control so that's the name now. Unfortunately, we do not have many patrons in the hotel. It's not a typical hotel, it's more of a rehabilitation center to try and get these demons into heaven. So far...it hasn't gotten the best response from other demons in Hell. It's what I was proposing to that one group of demons you saw."
Not a very good response at all if that demon decided to attack her for it. It also was pretty odd to see a rehabilitation center inside of Hell. The Slayer was about to stop calling this place Hell and just a second earth as this did not seem like a place of perpetual torment. Especially when there is someone who is actually kind like this Charlie living in it.
"Alright just a little further. I think everyone but Angel should be at the hotel, so I will introduce you as I understand that you do not like to talk," Charlie said. That made things easier for the Slayer. Charlie got to the door first and decided to open it first. She saw several members of the hotel in the lobby, Husk, Niffty and Vaggie. "Oh, hey everyone."
"Charlie there you are, I was wonderi-" Vaggie started to say until she saw the large human walk in behind her. She pulled out her spear as a habit of self-defense. "WOAH CHARLIE, what the hell? Why the hell is he here?"
"Fucking hell Princess," Husk said as she never expected Charlie to bring him here.
"Oh my god, he's huge! I bet he's a realllll bad boy," Niffty said with a sinister chuckle behind it. She did look at him in amazement as this man was the biggest human she had ever seen. There reactions even caught Keekee's attention as well as Razzle and Dazzle's attention.
"WOAH, WOAH, WOAH. There's no need to freak out, he is not here to cause any harm to us," Charlie said as she looked back towards the Slayer. The light of the hotel allowed her to see his eyes better and she could tell they were not happy looking. "Vaggie I'd probably put that spear away." She said now as she wasn't sure if he'd hurt anyone.
"You expect me to put away my spear when HE'S here?" Vaggie responded. This was like meeting the Radio Demon all over again, but this time, she knew nothing of the human's origin which made her even more skeptical of him.
"I don't blame Vaggie due to the fact he's just giving us fucking death stares," Husk said as he gave the Slayer a somewhat mean look back. He tried not to show fear to Alastor, so he would try his best to not show fear back. Although the appearance of this man was scary.
"Wellllll," Charlie said as she tapped her fingers together to think of a response, "I think that's just his normal look." She said as she looked up to the Slayer again. This time he actually looked down at her and kind of proved her point as he still had a mean look on his face. She let out a nervous chuckle.
"Yeah, seems fucking so," Husk said as he was staying on guard in case something bad broke out in the hotel.
"That's gotta be the biggest human I've ever seen," Niffty said as she zipped off away from the bar and about five feet in front of the Slayer. She got a look back from the Slayer as he had to move his head downwards to look her in the eyes.
"From what it sounds like, he's one of the most dangerous humans we've ever seen as well," Vaggie said. Her spear was still out, but she was no longer holding it in front of her. It was down at her side.
"Well, that is true. But we have one of the most dangerous demons here. Compared to Alastor, he doesn't seem like he just kills everyone for the fun of it," Charlie spoke to promote the man as best as she could.
"Wow what a great point," Husk said sarcastically.
"But there is a big difference there Charlie, Alastor, is an actual demon. That is a human. I mean we don't even know if demons can be redeemed, how the hell could a alive human get into heaven?" Vaggie asked as she assumed that is what the Slayer was here for.
"Well...he's not here for redemption. I offered him a room here as he doesn't have any place of his own. He is a human after all," Charlie responded.
"You are giving him a room? For nothing in return?" Vaggie asked again for clarification.
"Yes! Oh! Speaking of that," Charlie said as she walked behind the check in desk and grabbed a random key to one of the many unoccupied rooms in the hotel. She now was speaking directly to the Slayer. "I intended to keep my promise so here you go." She held out a key chain that had a room key and a plastic circle with the room number on it.
The Slayer stared down at her hand before reaching for the key and taking it from her. He held it in front of his face and turned the key chain to where he could see the room number. The number read 105. The first number would indicate the floor, meaning his room would be on floor one.
"If you venture down that hallway there, you'll find your room," Charlie said.
The Slayer looked at her and then towards the hallway she pointed out. He gripped the key chain in his hands and started to walk towards his room. He did not care to sit through the conversation going on about "him being the most dangerous human ever" or whatever other argument these demons would come up with to see him as a threat. Because of that he did not bother to look at any of the demons he passed, he just walked towards the room and found it rather fast. He stuck the key inside the lock and after a few turns he opened it up. Due to the fact he wanted to be alone, he closed the door behind him.
"So, you really did give him a room? I'm not fucking imagining the fact you gave that guy a room?" Husk asked as he didn't know if he was seeing straight.
"Nope you saw right. It seems like he's a new member of the hotel," Charlie responded.
"Charlie...but like... why hon? I know you just made a point about him not having anywhere to go, but this hotel isn't just a place to give someone a free room without going through our redemption program," Vaggie said. "AND even with that. How do we know we can trust that guy? Like at all?"
"Ain't like he's taking somebody's spot in line," Husk said which was a true point.
"Not helping," Vaggie said with an annoyed look.
"I'm not against having such a stronggggg bad boy at the hotel," Niffty said while chuckling like a maniac.
"Why am I not surprised," Vaggie sighed as that wasn't a helpful response either.
"Who said he would even help us? I don't think he gives two shits about anyone," Husk said.
"I don't know about that one Husk, he did help me out earlier," Charlie said with a grin of her own.
"What did he do?" Niffty asked.
"Well, I had a bit of an altercation with a group of demons. A physical altercation. And he came in and stopped it. So clearly, he does try to help others," Charlie said.
"WAIT what? Who did that to you?" Vaggie asked as she walked over to Charlie to see if she showed any wounds.
"It's alright Vaggie, a thing of the past. Besides, their names kind of slipped my mind," Charlie said as she reassured her girlfriend.
"Why did some jackasses try to attack you?" Vaggie asked.
"Just not on board with the whole hotel idea," Charlie said as she sugarcoated what actually happened to not make Vaggie immediately hunt down those demons.
"What a fucking surprise," Husk said once again sarcastically.
"Once again, not helping," Vaggie said.
"It's alri-," Charlie stopped herself as she finally spotted the new member of the hotel in Niffty's arms. "Woah, woah, woah. Where did this cute thing come from?" She spoke as she walked over to Niffty.
"This is Keekee!" Niffty said with excitement. But she clearly was more excited than Keekee as you could tell the cat had a personality as it looked unamused at the moment.
"Oh right. Alastor did some voodoo magic of his and brought that cat to life from the key to the hotel," Vaggie said.
"Aw." Charlie said as he gave Keekee a pet and a scratch behind her ears. "Wait, did you say the key to the hotel?"
"Yes. Yes, the fuck she did," Husk answered for Vaggie.
"Wait, so this cat is the key? The key to the hotel?" Charlie asked as that didn't seem likely to her.
"It's true. Keekee can change back into a key at any time!" Niffty said as she placed Keekee back on the floor.
"Does that hurt her?" Charlie asked.
"Doesn't seem like it. She has done it several times already," Niffty responded.
"Well, that is a little strange how Alastor made a cat from a key, but she is pretty adorable," Charlie said.
"See Husk, Alastor was right saying how Charlie wouldn't mind it," Niffty said going back to their previous conversation.
"That's great Niffty. Woohoo," Husk said with about as much fake enthusiasm as you could get.
"Yes, I will admit it's a cute animal, but can we bring this whole thing back to the bigger point of discussion," Vaggie said putting air quotes on the word bigger. It was also a pun because the Slayer was bigger than all of them.
"I know it may be hard to be around him as he is different than anyone we've ever seen before, but I'm hoping that could eventually change," Charlie said.
"Change how?" Vaggie asked.
"I want to see if there is a way to change him for the better. Try to bring some peace into his life, allow him to not show only anger, and maybe that will allow him to talk more. I am interested to figure out where he comes from," Charlie said.
"Princess, I think that's more of a pipe dream than anything. Whatever kind of shit that guy has gone through, I don't think there is fixing that," Husk said as that statement applied to him in some way as well. He has a bunch of problems of his own which is the main reason he is mostly grumpy all the time and does not like to talk about his problems.
"It may be so. But you never really know until you try," Charlie responded.
"Mhm. I don't think he'll be so happy to figure out that Alastor is also a resident here. It seemed like Al was getting on his nerves," Husk said.
"Oh yes. Alastor. I have been meaning to talk about Alastor about a few things, is he here?" Charlie asked to take the discussion away from the Slayer.
"He should be up in his radio tower getting ready to go one of his broadcasts," Niffty responded. Charlie believed that to be true as Niffty and Husk always had the scoop on Alastor.
"Thanks Niffty." Charlie said. She then looked at Vaggie before going to see Alastor. "We'll see how this goes with him. From what I've gathered, if we don't do anything to really make him mad, I don't think he'll go on a mass murdering spree."
"I guess hon. But it's really hard to tell his intentions by this lack of communication," Vaggie responded.
"Oh, speaking of that, do we even know his name?" Niffty said.
"How the fuck would we know that? He doesn't say shit," Husk chimed in.
"It seems like he can talk just fine, but only chooses to speak when he absolutely feels like it. He at least spoke to me," Charlie said.
"He did? What did he say?" Vaggie asked.
"Welllll, kind of similar to Husk, he just said one total word to me and that was it," Charlie said trying to not make it seem like a letdown that she only had one word said to her.
"What did he say?" Niffty asked as she had yet to hear him.
"He just said why to me as he wanted to know why I wanted to help him. That's all," Charlie said with a shoulder shrug.
"Well alright. But I really don't trust that guy. I trust him less than I trust the literal fucking radio demon and that says a lot," Vaggie said.
"Why's that?" Niffty asked.
"Because that guy seems like a loose cannon, someone who's completely unpredictable. We have no idea what he's thinking or what he plans to do next," Vaggie said as she looked down the hallway of where the Slayer's room is.
"Well thinking back to Alastor, if he wanted to kill us, wouldn't he have done that already?" Charlie said.
Vaggie let out a sigh,"I guess."
"Who knows, maybe he'll become a part of our crew here at the hotel," Charlie said again with a shrug.
"Un-fucking-likely but whatever," Husk said.
"I'm going to go meet Alastor now. I'd probably give the guy some space for now. Let him settle in," Charlie said as she started the adventure to the radio tower in the hotel.
"Right cause he actually had stuff to move in," Husk said under his breath as he started to focus on other things.
"We still don't know what to call him," Niffty said.
"Maybe he don't gotta name. If we gotta get his fucking attention we'll call him human, make it easy to figure out," Husk suggested.
"Really Husk? That would be like calling you cat," Vaggie said as that was dumb logic.
"The fucking difference is that you actually have a name to call me," Husk said. "I don't really give two shits on what to name a fucking person. You two can figure that out."
"I'll pass on that too. He'll just remain nameless as far as I'm concerned," Vaggie said.
"Probably just for now. Husk and Charlie both said he spoke to them. Maybe he'll get comfortable enough to talk to us and we'll learn his name," Niffty said.
"If he doesn't kill us like those other demons out there," Vaggie said.
That was the last thing said about the Slayer at this point in time as all the demons in the lobby went on to different things and different topics.
Now, inside of room 105 had the Slayer all on his own. He mainly looked around the entire room to see what it entailed. He had never spent time in a hotel before, so this was a different experience. The room came with a bed, a large desk, a lamp on a small table next to the bedrest, a small TV, and a bathroom. He decided to remove his helmet from his head. He had that thing on his head for weeks now. Now the more he thought of it, he couldn't believe how long he had actually been here. Time was passing fast. Too fast for him.
He placed the helmet on the desk and decided to take to get off his feet and take a seat on the bed. He felt like he was sinking into the bed as the mattress was very soft. He felt the mattress as he hadn't sat on anything this soft since his beginning days as a marine, and it wasn't like those beds were that soft so that said a lot. He honestly wondered if the bed would support his weight as he was not very light and adding his armor on top of that made him even heavier. He didn't know if he'd even use this bed for its intended purpose for sleeping as that was something he didn't normally do as he didn't have much time for that on a normal day for him. But who knows, life was moving at a much slower pace now, too slow for him. But it was nice having his own private place. Maybe he would try to make some things and make it his new mancave. But like he thought to himself before, he'd see where things went with this place.
