UAC Base, Earth, a long time ago...

The slight sounds of rounds being added to a shotgun would always be a satisfying sound as long as marines were concerned, especially for the marine in question. He looked over his weapon before placing it on the table. He heard footsteps coming into the room and saw that a new captain was on the scene. He walked up to him and slowly came to a halt a few feet away from him while holding a weapon of his own. He looked over the marine sitting down in the chair before speaking. "Since I have met every other man in this squad besides you, I would have to guess you're the transfer. Aren't you?"
"You'd be right," the marine responded.
"Thought so," the Captain said. He then watched as the marine in question picked up the shotgun off the table and began to look through the scope. "Woah, Woah. Slow your roll...marine. You won't be needing that," he said as he put a hand on the shotgun and lowered it.
"Why not?" the marine asked as he didn't understand the issue.
"Because the plan for you has changed. You aren't going in with us. I'll need you to keep guard outside of the base, watch for any dangers, and set a perimeter while we figure out what is going on in the base," the Captain responded.
"What!?" the marine asked fiercely as he never expected to hear that. He was one of the most skilled soldiers that you could ever find and always was included in the main assignments.
"You heard me marine. Before I came here I read up on your file. Found out you were kicked out of the marines and were stationed here. Attacking your superior? God damn son. That is not something to neglect. I cannot have you being reckless inside there," the Captain responded.
"Reckless. You cannot be serious," the marine responded.
"I am very fucking serious. That's an order and it should be a pretty goddamn easy order to follow am I clear?" the Captain said.
The marine didn't look happy at the order he was given as he was one of Earth's best soldiers. But, he ended up following the order. "Fine. But it would be hard for me to defend anything without a gun."
"Fair point," the Captain said. He looked around for a moment and came up with a solution. He pulled a pistol out of his holster and handed it to him along with a few ammo cartridges "Take this. I doubt you'll need any huge firepower."
The marine reluctantly took the pistol and handed over his shotgun to his Captain and would stick with just using the pistol for this assignment. As the Captain walked out of earshot, one of his other members on the team walked over to him. the Marine knew him as Omar.
"Don't let him give you shit. That's how he always is, especially when he meets a new team. likes to get under people's skin," Omar said in a soft voice.
"Well, it's working. Won't even let me carry anything more than a sidearm," the Marine said as he held up his pistol. It was quite the downgrade from his previous weapon choice.
"I see that," Omar said. He then began to look around to see if anyone was in earshot. He then talked in a lower tone about something not many on this team knew. "Look I did some digging as well and eventually read up on your story. I know that you have been keeping it hidden of the shit that ended you up here," Omar said.
"Oh yeah? Do you also think I'm a loose cannon that doesn't know how to follow orders?" the Marine asked as that was the vibe he was feeling lately.
"Fuck no. I respect what you stood for. They wanted your squad to kill innocent people? That's some fucked up shit," Omar responded.
"Tell that to all my superiors that sided against me," the Marine said in a displeased tone as he unloaded and reloaded the pistol. A little bit of anger was growing inside him.
"Ah forgot about those motherfuckers. You know we ain't dealing for them," Omar said which was true. This wasn't a team that was fully tied to the Space Marines.
"Hmph. Well, nice to know I got someone on my side," the Marine said with a smirk.
"Don't worry. We all got your back marine," Omar said. He used that as a new nickname since he knew he was a real soldier before all of this. He then held up a fist for a fist bump.
The marine said nothing as he didn't leave Omar hanging and acknowledged the fist bump. He had been assigned to this time for a little while. He had gotten to know all the others members of the team and had definitely become friends with them, especially to Omar. Omar seemed to be the very first person to figure out what landed him on this team in the first place. He always would tell a bullshit story of how he was relocated to this team for a special assignment. But, he was glad that Omar was on his side as many of the superiors were not.
The marine watched as the rest of the team walked over to the Captain as he was about to give out a final sitrep. "Okay, gentlemen. We know our assignments for this. We go in and eliminate whatever threat has fallen on the base. We also need to do our best to locate the scientists and members working the base and bring them to safety. According to the distress signal, they need military support against some type of threat. We have yet to figure out what it is as I do not know how anyone else but the UAC could have gotten access to the base. So be prepared for what danger is up there. Remember we are the only team that is available for this. Watch each other's back, and stick together. Let's get this down shall we?" He said as he turned around towards the portal. The rest of the team followed as one by one, each man stepped into the portal and was teleported all the way up to the UAC base on Phobos.
The marine was the last one to step through. The process was very quick, you could blink and you would already be on Mars. He walked through and saw that the rest of the team was waiting for him. Once they saw him they proceeded to move in. The marine followed his assignment and stayed back to secure a perimeter. From there, he would continue to hear the sounds of his team's radio traffic.
"Keep those comms ready at all times gentlemen," the Captain said.
"Ooh-rah," Johnson said imitating a marine chat.
"What the fuck did they say caused all this?" Lawerence asked.
"Not fucking sure. The distress signal said, and I quote, 'We require immediate military support. Something fraggin' evil is coming out of the gateways! Computer systems have gone berserk!" the Captain said relaying the message.
"Fraggin' evil huh? Like fucking what? Are aliens from another dimension here to slay us all?" Lawerence said as he started to take this less seriously.
"We'll have to find out then won't we? People do not send those messages as a joke, this is a serious situation," the Captain said. This made the marine a little heated as he was just told that it wasn't serious. This made the marine think that the captain was afraid he would get the shit kicked out of him if he gave an order the marine didn't like.
"Of fucking hell. Look at this shit," Tierre said as it sounded like they spotting something bad.
"All this blood. Who could have done this?" Cormac asked.
"Some fucking invaders is what. We'll make them pay," Kelly said.
"WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?" Johnson asked as something seemed like it freaked him out.
"You pissing your pants already Johnson?" Rodriguez asked trying to make fun of him. The squad giving each other shit was how they kept themselves cool.
"Shut up, I swore I heard some weird ass shit coming from the vents," Johnson responded.
"Just keep your heads on a swivel. Whoever caused this bloodshed is probably still in the base," the Captain said.
"They better not be, or we'll make them wish they never stepped foot here," Tierre said.
"Ooh-rah," Johnson said again.
Some time had passed in the radio communication. From the marine's perspective, it sounded like they were all trying to keep quiet, the radio went dead, or they were just concentrating too hard. Eventually, the radio chatter did pick back up, but this time, it seemed a lot tenser than before.
"What the fuck was that growling," Lawrence said sounding on high alert.
"SEE. I told you motherfuckers I heard some weird shit," Johnson said proving he was right.
"Fuck! I swore I just saw some type of figure over there," Tierre exclaimed.
"HEY. Looks like we have a survivor here. Hey, are you okay?" Lance asked. It seemed like the first set of good news on the base.
"What the fuck. that doesn't look right. I've never seen a person look like that," Omar said as he spotted something wrong.
"HQ, we found a survivor, looks like they will need medical, no other survivors at this time," the Captain said giving a report.
"Is, is he growling at me? What..what is AUGHHHHHHH," Johnson yelled as the frantic sound of gunfire filled the comms followed by the sounds of growls and screeches.
"JOHNSON!" Lance yelled as he began to fire at something.
"HOLY SHIT, WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE THINGS!" Kelly exclaimed as something bad was going down.
"HQ, HQ WE GOT A SITUATION HERE," The voice of the Captain yelled the sounds of gunfire got louder and louder followed by sheer panic.
"FALL BACK FALL BACK," Kelly yelled and instructed.
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE THESE THINGS," Omar yelled. The same noises of gunfire and screeches remained.
"AHHH. HELP ME. AUGHHHH," Kelly yelled but his screams didn't remain much longer as the sounds of crunching bones and gargling came after.
"HQ, HQ, WE NEED REINFORCEMENTS. WE HAVE LOST KELLY AND JOHNSON. SHIT, THERE ALL AROUND US!" The captain exclaimed trying desperately to call for help as the situation sounded really bad.
"NO, NO STAY BACK," Lance exclaimed as he sounded like he was firing like a madman.
"THERE BREAKING THROUGH THE WALLS!" Cormac yelled.
"DON'T STOP FIRING!" The captain yelled. But from the marine's perspective, whatever they were doing wasn't working.
"THEY KEEP COMING!" Cormac yelled again.
"THESE THINGS AREN'T HUMAN, THEY AREN'T FRIGGIN HUMAN!" Lance yelled out.
"NO, NO, NO!" Rodriguez shouted.
"HQ, DO YOU READ ME? HQ!" The Captain yelled out for help again. But never got any.
"AHHH. H-HELP ME S-S-SIR. AUGHHHHH!" Lance exclaimed. It sounded like his radio fell off as his voice trailed off.
The marine had no idea what was going on. Whatever his team had gotten themselves into, whatever they were fighting, it wasn't human. From the sounds of it, they were all being slaughtered one by one. It sounded extremely brutal too as their death cries could be heard by no one else but themselves. The marine had never expected this would happen. The radio chatter picked up once more.
"W-WE NEED HELP!" Cormac yelled out as the gunshots were starting to sound less and less due to the fewer soldiers.
"I'M RUNNING OUT OF AMMO. WE CAN'T HOLD THEM OFF! WE AHHHHHH!" Omar yelled out as he experienced some kind of pain.
"THEY CAN THROW FIRE. OMAR IS DOWN, OMAR IS-" Cormac yelled, but that was the last thing he said. "LOOK UP THERE!"
"OH FU-" The Captain said which was also the very last thing he said too.
In that instance, the radio chatter was no more. His team was completely silent. The marine didn't know what to say at the moment. From the sounds of it, he just listened as his team was brutally slaughtered by something dangerous.
"Anyone out there?" The marine shouted over the radio but got nothing in return. "Guys, do you copy?" He tried asking again but still got nothing. "Anyone! HQ, do you read me?" He tried again but still got nothing. It seemed like he was alone in the dark out here. A wave of anger started to form in him as the weight of what happened just started to sink in. These guys that he had grown accustomed to were just brutally murdered. They had friends, families, wives, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers. Those people would never see them again. That made the marine really angry now. He knew that the comms would not be his friend and he didn't have a way to make a portal to go back to earth so he was trapped here. Trapped alone with...whatever just murdered his team. But even in situations like these, he still was the hardened marine that was ready for any form of combat. So, there was only one thing for him to do. Fight. Fight until he couldn't, fight like hell. "If I die, I'm making sure I take whatever is in there with me. Guys, I'll make them fucking pay." He said to himself as he marched in.
The marine quickly moved into the facility, staying completely on guard of whatever danger is out there. He thought whatever threat could be up here was just some crazed humans with guns, but whatever was being described over the radio didn't sound like a crazed human.
"What the hell!" The marine exclaimed as he stared at a lengthy creature with red eyes, sharp claws, and horns coming out of its shoulders. The creature screeched at him before charging. It leaped in the air as it swung its claw at the marine. He reacted at the last second and rolled out of the way. He held up his pistol and fired a few rounds into its chest. The creature started to bleed and didn't seem effective as it charged again. It swing its sharp claw at the marine but he ducked out of the way and aimed toward its head. He fired nearly the whole clip into its head which finally killed it. As it lay stiff on the ground, he had a good chance to look over the body. "What in the hell is that thing? T-That's...that's not human." He then started to walk into the base. The sight in front of him was not pretty in the slightest. There was blood and bodies everywhere. The blood smeared the walls and almost looked like it was trying to say a message in blood. "My god."
The marine kept moving onwards until he saw someone walking. He saw that it had the figure of a human this time so it could be a survivor. The marine didn't speak as he moved toward the figure. The figure noticed him and let out a loud growl at him before charging at him with murderous intent. The marine was a little more prepared this time as he held up his pistol and fired the rest of his clip into the being's head. It tripped over itself and fell dead on the floor. The marine walked over to examine the body. "Labcoat...and ID...this was a person. What the fuck happened here?" He said to himself as this situation was becoming direr and direr. He heard the sounds of groans as someone walked in holding a gun. "Hey! Who are you!" The marine asked thinking it was an alive soldier. The being growled at him and aimed its gun right at him and began firing. The marine quickly got to his feet and ran quickly to cover. He found his opening and fired five rounds into the being which killed it. He then ran up to inspect this body as well. "This person...has the same features as that scientist. Was this a soldier?" He then was caught off guard as another one of those lengthy creatures launched at him. He tried to backstep it but he did not come away clean as it sliced him across his stomach area.
Hazbin Hotel, Present Day
The Slayer opened his eyes and awoke from his slumber. He sat himself up on the bed and realized that it was just a dream and he was still in the same room as before. It felt like the pain he felt in his dream was felt in real life and it seemed to jolt him awake.
Dreams. They never seemed to be pleasant for the Slayer. Always reminding him of the mental scars he carried. As he stared down at his lower chest he looked at the three claw marks on his abs, he was reminded of a physical scar too. He realized this was the first time he had slept in a long time, or at least, the first time he made himself sleep on his own.
He got to his feet and walked over to the rest of his armor. He then began the process of putting it back on his upper body. He placed the shoulder piece over his head and on his shoulders followed by the two chest pieces that cover his pecs and abs. From there came the two gauntlets. He looked down at his left arm and tested his blade was still functional. When it shot out on his command, he knew it was still good. He then walked over to his helmet and picked it up and placed it over his head. He then cracked his neck, and his knuckles and loosened his shoulders. He then walked towards the door and opened it and walked out to the balcony outside.
"Ah, there he is. The Heavenly Slayer himself," Alastor spoke as he approached the Slayer giving him another nickname that wasn't too far off from his actual nickname. "I see that you have finally emerged from that room of yours. Fortunately for you, you did not miss anything of value during your absence. If you also were looking to fill that bloodlust you hold by killing more of those Exterminators, I'm afraid to inform you that the cleanse ended a little while ago. But, luckily for you, Hell is a big place after all." He said the last phrase he said it without the radio filter on his voice and actually sounded normal.
The Slayer watched as he proceeded down the stairs but then turned his attention away from him. At the moment, he was just staring directly ahead lost in his own thoughts.
"Well hey there hot stuff," Angel said as he seemed to appear to the left of the Slayer. The Slayer simply turned his head towards Angel where he was standing with one of his hands on his hip. "Feels like a hot minute since I've seen ya. See yer still kicking after being out there for all that time. Did Al come over to give ya shit or sumthing?"
The Slayer didn't look at Angel as he turned his head so it would face toward the very front of the hotel where you could see the front doors, the check-in desk, the fireplace, and the lobby. If this seemed like another attempt at flirting with him, he was simply going to ignore it.
"So...are you...um...are ya busy at the moment?" Angel asked. His tone seemed to completely change as it sounded like he was hesitant to ask that question. But it wasn't like he received any backlash for asking it cause the Slayer didn't react in the slightest. "Right, dumb for me to try and ask ya a question. Well if you are not busy. I got a um...favor that I wanted to ask you. NOW I know that I shouldn't be someone asking for favors as I already owe ya big time for gettin me outta hot water with Val but this is something that I need help with." He looked at the Slayer who still kept staring forwards. At this point, he would just say his request and would see what happened next. "So...staying locked up in the hotel for like a week is driving me a bit...crazy. I'm a guy who likes to hit the town, fuck shit up, party hard and maybe have some rocking sex on the side. Of course, I cannot do that cause I put myself in great danger running into Val or whatever goons he's got out there so I can't go out there. At least, not on my own. So I would like to ask as a favor if you'd go out there with me? Ya know...like um...like...my bodyguard...in a sense."
This got the Slayer's attention a little as he stopped staring ahead and turned to look at Angel out of the corner of his eye.
"Now look. Yer kinda like the only person I can really ask for this. I don't really want to get the others involved. Charlie...is sweet and I think she realizes if she gets involved it could do more harm than good. Vaggie ain't strong enough to stand up to Val, neither is Husk and Niffty. Well, they might believe they can, but they can't. And Alastor...well you heard what he said. He would not stop Val from getting me if I was caught outside the hotel so he's not an option. Then there is you. And a lot of you there is~. You don't give two shits about rules, or how strong someone is, or, or, any kind of fucking soul contract. You just do you. And holy fuck I'd like nothing more than to have the kind of power you got. So you are kind of like my only hope. And it wouldn't be for an extremely long time. I just wanna stretch my legs, and get some...fresh air? I guess? And maybe get some things to bring back with me, ya know, like stock up on my own supplies. So um...would you be willing to do that for me? You'd be doing me a huge favor. And...and I'd definitely try to find a way to make it up to you. I mean I could think of a few ways."
The Slayer then fully rotated his body towards Angel and stared right back into his eyes with his stern glare. He then looked down at his left arm and then at his blade. Angel watched as the blade on his wrist shot outwards. The Slayer examined the blade to make sure it was still sharp.
"Sooooooo. Is that like yer unique way of saying yes? Orrrrr was that your unique way of telling me to fuck off?" Angel asked as he wasn't 100% sure on what that meant.
The Slayer looked back at him and retracted the blade. Angel didn't know it, but he would decide to help Angel with this task. He can tell that Angel is someone that has fallen into a constant stream of abuse and punishment by someone more powerful than him that he cannot do a thing about. And besides, if Valentino did show up, perhaps the Slayer can finish what he started.
"Yer quite the confusing guy. Okay well, I have to get something from my room. And how about this? If you are down in the lobby when I come back, then I'll know for sure that yer in. Got it?" Angel said but realized it was dumb of him to wait for a response. "Right, I'll take that as you do get it," he said as he proceeded to his room.
The Slayer watched him leave and then walked toward the top of the stairwell before walking slowly down the stairs. For Husk down in the bar, it was so easy to determine who was coming down the steps as no one had the sound of booming footsteps as the human did.
"Figured that was you," Husk said towards the Slayer.
The Slayer looked at Husk for a moment as he walked by but then looked away. He walked over to one of the couches and sat down. His blade was still on his mind as he decided he would check it again to make sure it hadn't gone dull. Husk was honestly intrigued by the blade attached to the Slayer's left forearm as he had never seen some shit like that before. He wondered what kind of mechanism triggered that blade to protract and retract. It didn't look like the Slayer was hitting a button that made it come out so he really wondered how it worked. It seemed like a really reliable tool having a literal sword attached to your arm at all times.
"Well Husky, are ya falling for the human too?" Angel said catching Husk by surprise.
Husk hadn't noticed it but it was odd that he was just staring at the human not saying a word. "No, I was...fucking never mind."
"Heh, you are cute when you are flustered," Angel said.
"I ain't fucking flustered," Husk responded.
"Yeah, yeah," Angel said even though he wasn't convinced. "Well I guess you weren't telling me to fuck off after all," he now said to the Slayer who was still on the couch.
"The fuck are you talking about? What are you doing" Husk asked as it looked like Angel was going somewhere.
"Going out to get some things, nothing major," Angel responded.
"Uh? Okay, I thought that was a terrible fucking idea," Husk said as he was confused about why Angel would want to go out.
"Oh it definitely is if I'm going out alone, but I'm not. I got a date with muscles here," Angel said pointing a thumb at the Slayer.
"Did you now?" Husk said as he looked at the Slayer who had retracted his blade and was now massaging his left wrist. He figured a date with that guy seemed unlikely.
"Yep. Should have acted faster Husk, the good ones always get snatched up if ya wait too long," Angel said.
"Uh-huh. Well I'll make sure to fucking remember those wise words," Husk said sarcastically.
"Please do," Angel said as he walked towards the door. "Ya coming muscles?"
The Slayer clenched the fist to the hand he has massaging and got to his feet.
"And don't ya worry about a thing Husky, I'll be back before ya can miss me," Angel said.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Husk said as he simply rolled his eyes at that.
Angel let the Slayer go first out the doors because he was a lot wider than he was. The Slayer pushed both the doors open at once and Angel followed outside. And just like that, their little adventure was underway.
Around five minutes of walking is all it took for them to get into the big part of the city as the hotel was around the center of it all. As they both walked down the street, the Slayer saw it to be a bit more crowded than usual and it still looked like there were remnants of some demons.
Angel was usually a talker and found it to be a little awkward that there was just complete silence so far, so he decided to stir up a little conversation. "This kinda shit is how Hell usual is after an Extermination. Demons just coming out of their homes, a ton of fucking dead fucks all over the place. But hey, usually fellas always pick up the bodies or some gross fucks eat them. Cannibals are not my style."
The Slayer looked around at all of the demons that were walking along picking up the remains of a few demons. He and Angel left the hotel at the very end of the cleaning process so it did not look as bad as before. The Slayer then stopped walking and saw a collection of dead Exorcists on the ground. Clearly it was his work but nobody knew exactly who it was expect those from the hotel. He wasn't the only one who stopped to have a look. Plenty of demons stopped to observe the dead bodies. Some of them got right up next to them and gave them a few kicks or taps to make sure they were really dead. The conversation started to who actually did this.
"Well shit. I guess that has gotta prove that you did it. You actually killed all of those angels all by yourself. I still don't know how you managed to pull that off. And don't even get me started on the fact ya did it by yerself. Honestly ya might have saved a few fucks with being out here. Limited the numbers of those Exterminators and kept them off demon's backs. You are quite the team player," Angel spoke again even though none of that was the Slayer's true intentions in killing the Exterminators. He then walked over to a few of the corpses and looked them over. "Still...I've never seen one of them this close before, even though they are dead. It's all just a weird sight. But hey, turns out they weren't enough to kill a badass like you," he added to the Slayer who was still standing over on the curb.
"Wait, wait," a demon who was in earshot heard Angel say that. "Did you just say that...he was the one who did this?"
"Well I don't hear any other demon claiming it," Angel responded to the demon. But that became heard by more and more demons in the area.
"Wait that's that human. There's no way he could have done this could he?"
"That's impossible, I thought they couldn't be killed?"
"How did he do it?"
"Why is the human with you? Do you got some sexual thing with him? Is one of the most famous pornstars in Hell accounted for?"
More and more questions started to get fired towards Angel and the Slayer now that this revelation had been announced.
"Alright, alright enough with the fucking questions. Don't bother asking me how he did what he did cause I don't got a clue either. And don't bother asking him as he won't tell you. As for if me and him are a thing, I'll only answer with I wish." Angel answered. As more questions started to get asked he noticed that the Slayer started to proceed down the sidewalk as he no longer wished to be bombarded with questions. "Alright I ain't answering more questions..just uh...talk amongst yourselves or whatever." He turned around and proceeded to walk at a faster pace than normal to catch back up to his bodyguard. As they were walking, he decided to switch up the conversation more to the goal of them being out here. "So like I said, just need ta grab a few things is all, nothing too hard." He said again. Angel then thought of something else to say, "Okay, okay. Maybe I should have kept quiet about that due to the fact that people would freak out about that. Guess that comes easy for you as you are always quiet. But...even with the fact you don't like to talk, I'm going to make it a goal of mine to get ya to talk to me. I know for a fact that you can talk coming from Charlie and Alastor and Husk unless they were just bullshitting me but I don't think Charlie would. I'm dying to know what that voice of yours sounds like and according to Husk you sound just like I think you would. And besides, there just HAS to be something you want to say. Like you just want to blurt it out for all of Hell to hear!"
The Slayer didn't let Angel complete this goal as he just kept walking along with him and not saying a word as they was nothing the Slayer wanted to say right now.
"Okay, I am definitely starting to feel like ya doing it on purpose to me. I'll stop asking for now, but don't think I'm not gonna make it my goal to hear ya speak. And trust me when I say this, that ain't my only goal with you," Angel said with a few giggles.
The Slayer wasn't sure if he actually ever speak to Angel. The times he did was when he absolutely felt like saying something. It felt like ever since he broke his extremely long streak of silence with the Dark Lord, he is a little more inclined to speak. And when I say little I mean little. But it is definitely a step in that direction. The Slayer then heard a voice call out to them from above.
"Angie is that you!" Cherri said from on top of a short building.
The Slayer saw her standing up on the ledge from behind Angel. It took him a moment, but he did end up recognizing her from a while ago. She talked to him briefly after he dismembered that vehicle.
"Hey, Cher!" Angel shouted back. He watched as she leaped off the building and landed right in front of him.
"Hey Angel, I woah," Cherri said as she leaned back at the fact that this giant man appeared next to him.
"Ain't it cool? I got my own human all to myself," Angel said making a joke. He then turned his head to see that the Slayer was now looking at him, Angel could only assume it was because he didn't like that remark. "Kidding, kidding. It's just a joke big guy."
"Got to admit I didn't think I was going to see this guy again. Last time I saw him he threw a tank like fifty yards," Cherri said as she was eyeing the Slayer down.
"Fuckin what? He threw a tank?" Angel said as that was news to him.
"Fuck yeah, I was fighting the old man again, what else is new, and all of a sudden this guy comes out of nowhere and just demolishes the tank Pentious brought out in an instance," Cherri said.
"That sounds fucking funny as hell. Wish I could have seen it," Angel responded.
"It was great. But now on to you Angel. Like what the fuck, you keep on disappearing on me. Where'd ya go this time?" Cherri asked.
"There is a very good reason for that. I was laying low in that hotel I always tell you about. Long story short, I ghosted Val for a day and he got pissed and came into the hotel, tried to take me with him, muscles over here kicked his ass, made Val even more mad," Angel said giving her an extremely short explanation.
"No shit?" Cherri said as she looked at the Slayer.
"Pretty much I can't go out into Hell on my own without having the risk of Val finding me and doing fuck knows what to me. So...I got a little protection," Angel said with a smug look on his face as he felt powerful now that he had someone like the Slayer protecting him.
"Got yourself a bodyguard. Now I have seen everything," Cherri responded.
"Yep. So I'm just tryna stock up on sum things so I can keep on laying low," Angel spoke. "Wanna join us?"
"Sure, I don't got anything else going on," Cherri said with a shoulder shrug. "Where too?"
"Hmm. I think I need to get some fucking alcohol," Angel said.
"Alcohol huh?" Cherri said as they all began walking.
"Of course. I ain't be out of that damn hotel in like a week cause going out alone is not gonna happen anymore. Starting my new afterlife," Angel said.
"Sounds rough. Hey if ya want, I can drop by and bring you some shit so you don't gotta tempt fate by coming out here," Cherri offered.
"Shit that would extremely fucking helpful babe. Maybe I can also jack Charlie's limo and come on over to yer place," Angel said as well.
"Do you even know how the fuck to drive a car?" Cherri asked.
"Yes, I can drive a car. They may have not been very advanced like they are nowadays but I'll get the hang of it," Angel said referring back to the mid 1900s when he died on earth.
"Okay, okay," Cherri said giving him some credit.
"Oh I think I spot something good here," Angel said as they stopped in front of a store. He was peering through a window at the selection of drinks.
"What kind of shit are ya looking for?" Cherri asked.
"Something hard," Angel said.
"You would say that," Cherri said as she caught his joke.
While the two of them were talking the Slayer turned his head as he spotted a suspicious vehicle with its windows down that had a few demons occupying it. What caught the Slayer's attention as it felt like they had been watching them for some time now. It wasn't like they were stunned to see the Slayer cause they weren't even looking at him. Because of this, they didn't even notice that he was staring at them as they were focused on Angel. The Slayer looked over at Angel and Cherri who were still looking inside the window and then looked back at the car. The Slayer started to believe that this was the stuff Angel was talking about and the reason why he wanted his protection to be out in hell. It seemed like Angel was some type of a target and these guys were hunting for him.
They both looked a little startled as they finally looked at the Slayer and saw that he was peering hard at him. The Slayer decided he would send them a message that they knew they would understand. He clenched his fist and they watched as his blade shot outwards. That definitely scared them even more as they quickly rolled up their windows and started the car and began to drive away.
The noise of the blade and the sound of a car speeding away caught the attention of Cherri and Angel. They looked at the car as it drove away and then at the massive blade coming out the side of his arm.
"Heh, I'd say your bodyguard is doing a pretty good job," Cherri said with a short chuckle. "Think those were Valentino's guys?"
"Could have been. Or maybe they were catching a peek. But whoever they are, he definitely made sure they won't come back. Also that fucking massive machete you got on your arm, I've wondered how the fuck that works," Angel said changing the subject.
"What do ya mean?" Cherri asked.
"Well I wonder how he controls it," Angel said with a shrug. They both saw as the Slayer retracted the blade after Angel mentioned how it was controlled.
"Who fucking knows how a suit like that works," Cherri said.
"Alright well I see some shit that daddy wants," Angel said as he turned the focus back to the store and went over to the doors to go inside.
The Slayer stayed where he was as both Angel and Cherri went into the store. The Slayer had no interest in "shopping" as he didn't need to purchase anything and didn't want anything. He decided to just stand guard outside as anyone that went inside the store would see him first.
"Not the shopping type I guess," Cherri said from inside the store as she looked at him through a window.
"Hard to figure out what he likes. The fella is still is a non-talker who seems like he doesn't care for most things. I've just never seen someone like him before," Angel added as he looked at him through the window.
"So then how the fuck did that guy wind up at that hotel of yours? Isn't that place about...redemption or some shit?" Cherri asked in a softer tone.
"One of the gals there felt bad for him or something and offered him a free room and don't even make him do any redemption shit like they make me do, like the fuck is up with that?" Angel said feeling jealous.
"I dunno, maybe 'cause he's not actually dead and you are," Cherri said.
"Yeah whatever," Angel said as he started to look at the options for alcohol.
"So. What is he like?" Cherri asked as she wondered if the human had a different personality behind closed doors.
"Complicated to say the least. I've never in my entire existence met a fella like him before. I mean I don't know how he stays consistent in being completely silent all the time like not talking would have to drive someone crazy," Angel said.
"Still angry as shit?" Cherri asked as that was the one thing that everyone described the Slayer as.
"Absolutely. I don't think the guy likes to be happy. Like I thought Husk was grumpy but this guy has a WHOLE different deal. But Charlie does make the point often that there probably is a lot more to him than what we know. Maybe he's gone through a lot of fucked up shit that made him the way he is now," Angel said. He started to kind of fall back on saying anything bad about the Slayer when everyone has their problems, especially him. "But the guy is fucking fearless, to say the least."
"So it seems," Cherri said.
"The guy has stepped up to the likes of Alastor and Valentino and never even seemed frightened, even with Valentino being bigger than him," Angel said as pulled out a case of liquor.
"Probably cause their both twigs compared to him," Cherri said with a grin for...obvious reasons.
"Heh, true," Angel responded with a chuckle.
"Also, there has been a shit ton of talk about a bunch of dead Exterminators that people have been finding in the streets. I went to see for myself and they are definitely there. Weapon dealers are having a field day today," Cherri said changing the subject.
"Hm, I wonder who did that," Angel said with a big smirk as he looked outside.
"No fucking way. He killed them?" Cherri said.
"As far as I know, yes. He left before the Extermination started and came back a few hours later covered in blood. I doubt he was helping the Exterminators kill the demons trapped outside. But nevertheless, I think he is responsible for every single Exorcist death," he shrugged his shoulders as he gave her a short summary of what happened.
"That's fucking wild. That's gotta be some kind of first. A human killing an Exterminator. No fuck that! Anyone killing one of those bastards," Cherri said as if a human doing it wasn't odd enough.
"Definitely is," Angel said as well.
Outside of the store, the Slayer still remained. Escorting someone was something he never typically did as he normally went at things alone so he didn't have anyone to escort. He began to slowly crack each one of his knuckles which definitely scared some nearby demons that were passing by. It made them believe that the Slayer was preparing for a fight of some sort. He then folded his arms and would remain outside of the store until Angel was ready.
And that was bad news for the demons that were spotted and drove off in a mad hurry. They were quick to dial up Valentino and inform him of the news.
"What is it?" Valentino asked from the other line.
"Well b-boss, we got some good news and some bad news about Angel," the worker responded.
"Fucking spit it out. I don't want to play some good news and bad news shit!" Valentino said as he definitely wanted to know something new about Angel.
"We were just driving around and we saw Angel by surprise. He finally did leave the hotel and he is at some convenience store," he responded back to Valentino.
"Is that right?" Valentino said as that caught his attention.
"The problem or well the bad news is that he's not alone. He has that big guy with him," he said wondering what reaction Valentino would give.
"You gotta be FUCKING kidding me," Valentino said as he became annoyed again. He did not think about Angel having some police escort out of the hotel.
"A-And there's no way we could take that guy on. H-He's huge!" The worker responded hoping Valentino wouldn't make them.
"Of fucking course you can't. I don't have fucking time to deal with this shit right now. I got a fucking business to run," Valentino said as he hung up the phone as there was nothing more that could be done.
"Let's just head back to the studios. As the big man said, there ain't shit we can do about this," the demon who was driving the car said.
Back at the store, Angel and Cherri had came back out to find that the big 6'8 man was still exactly where they left him. They both were impressed with how un-phased he really is.
"Well if you were looking for any sort of job, I definitely think being a bodyguard could be a good fit for ya," Angel mentioned as he approached the marine.
"You are definitely overqualified," Cherri said giving him more words of encouragement.
"Well, we're ready if you are," Angel said.
The Slayer did seem ready as he unfolded his arms and proceeded to walk back towards them showing that he was ready enough to walk with them again. It was now on to the next step in this so-called journey.
Porn Studios
The limousine slowly pulled in with a gentle halt next to the curb. All the people waiting in line to get all turned their attention to the limo as it meant it was someone rich and most likely popular. The man who came out of the limo most certainly fits both of those as Lucifer stepped out. He planted his cane on the ground and stared up at the building in front of him with a smile. For someone like Lucifer, he had two different faces. We can call it a public and private face. When he is alone or in the company of his wife he may let his emotions show when he is stressed, confused, or experiencing some type of conflict. But when he is out in hell his public face comes out. There he is the proud, cunning, powerful, and frankly, un-phased ruler of hell they all come to know. That is exactly how he acted as he had a large, confident, and sinister smile on his face as he walked towards the doors. There would be no lines for him.
"U-Um. W-Welcome, your highness," The demon working the security said as he gave him a slight bow as a sign of respect.
"You seem surprised?" Lucifer said with a grin as he stared heavily at the demon to try and intimidate him for his own fun.
"N-No. I mean, I suppose a little. Valentino usually informs me when someone of high rank is planning on coming to the studios," The guard said.
"Well, I suppose you can let Valentino off the hook as this visit was a little unexpected. Just a little business to attend to. That will not be a problem will it?" Lucifer said as he figured what the demon would say.
"No. Of course not. Come on in," He said as he moved out of the way and opened the door.
"Much obliged," Lucifer said with a cunning grin as stopped leaning on his cane and held it with his hands behind his back, and strolled on in. He hadn't been to the studios in some time. It still looked the same as before and was just as popular then as it is now. He did draw some attention to himself as others didn't expect to see the king of hell tonight. Lucifer saw as one of the female "entertainers" approached.
"Well, I'll be. Quite a treat to see royalty here tonight," she said in a soft and seductive tone. She was dressed in a tight black dress with long black boots going up to her knee. She had a pair of horns and black hair.
"Heh. Well, I am glad to present such a treat," Lucifer said as he gave her a smile back.
"A handsome treat for sure. Does this treat need satisfaction? I'd be happy to serve you, your majesty," she said as she ran a hand down his right sleeve.
"Hm, tempting, but I am here for a different reason. I need to speak to one of your proprietors about something," Lucifer said.
"Valentino? I can take you to him, he's out he-," she started to say until she saw Lucifer throw up a hand telling her to stop talking.
"No, no. I am here to speak with Vox," he said.
"Oh! Well, I think Vox is back up in his office. I can take you over to him if you like," she said being more than happy to help out the king.
"Well that would be helpful," Lucifer responded. The girl lead the way while Lucifer followed. She had a bit of a harder time maneuvering her way around tables or other demons than Lucifer did. Most likely cause people made sure they moved out of the way for him. It did not take very long for the two of them to reach the area where the elevators were. As Lucifer waited for the elevator to come down, he began to look over the room tonight. This place always seemed to be so crowded. Demons surrounding the runway throwing their cash at any piece of ass that comes down it, workers seducing any lone soul they can find, demons drinking the night away at the bar. A true Porn Studios experience. He saw out of the corner of his eye that the doors opened meaning the elevator was here. He walked over and stepped in it with the worker. She selected floor five and away they went. Not much conversation was said between the two of them as they went up floor by floor. Lucifer continued to keep a confident smirk on his face throughout the whole elevator ride.
"Vox's office will be down there to the right," she said while directing him with a point.
"Why thank you. And here, for being so helpful," Lucifer said as he handed her $100 cash as a "tip."
"O-Oh wow. T-Thank you," she said as she never got tips that big before.
"The least I can do," Lucifer said as he began to walk toward Vox's office. As he got closer and closer, he could hear a conversation going on inside cause the door was open.
"Well it was hard to find a good spot for them," Briar said.
"Y-Yeah, we didn't have anything to put them on," Hammel said backed by Briar's claim.
"Okay, whatever. I can make this work. But basing off what just happened today, I'm wondering how much we'll need these," Vox said.
"What do you mean?" Briar asked.
"Because we had some guys out in hell that saw Angel. Problem is he was being protected by that human. If he will always be guarded by him or even fucking Alastor, we're going to have a problem," Vox said.
"W-Well maybe th-," Hammel started to say but was cut off by a new voice.
"Am I interrupting something?" Lucifer said as it felt like he just magically appeared in the doorway.
"Lucifer?" Vox said even though he knew it was. It was more of him being caught off guard by the fact the king just randomly showed up.
"So Lucifer. I was not expecting you to come," Vox said starting off the conversation.
"I did not expect to have to come here either," Lucifer responded as he shrugged his shoulders.
"Uh, hello, Lord Lucifer," Briar said as he wasn't sure how he should address him.
Lucifer didn't respond to that greeting, but instead just looked back and forth at the two of them before speaking. "Gentlemen I'm afraid this conversation I am about to have only concerns the likes of your proprietor. So if you would be so kind as to leave."
"Uh yes, we will go," Hammel said as he issued Briar to come with him. The two demons got up and walked out of the room making sure not to bump into Lucifer on their way out.
"Hatching up some brand new scheme I take it?" Lucifer asked as he did overhear some conversation about cameras.
"It's how it goes your majesty. I use the wonders of technology to their full potential," Vox responded in a clever tone as to not give anything away.
"I see," Lucifer said.
"So, not here to let out any demonic urges you may have?" Vox asked as that was usually the first reason why people came to this place.
"I am not. I have my reasons though," Lucifer said as he sat himself down in one of the chairs while he spoke.
"What brings you here then?" Vox asked.
"I am here because I know how good you are with technology," Lucifer announced.
"That I am," Vox responded with a confident smile and tone to go with it.
"For that reason, I have a task I need your assistance with," Lucifer said.
"Like what?" Vox asked.
Lucifer reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone he then swiped his fingers across the screen to unlock it and placed it screen up on the table.
"Do you need me to fix your phone or something?" Vox asked as he felt like that would be an odd thing for Lucifer to come all the way to Porn Studios for.
"Why don't you slide over a few pages and see for yourself," Lucifer responded.
Vox did just that and spotted the four unusual-looking files that were present on his phone. He looked confused as he hadn't seen something like that before. "What are these?"
"They are voice logs. Why don't you play that first one and hear what it has to offer. Lucifer watched as Vox did just that. He sat back in his chair with that confident smile of his as he heard the voice of Dr. Elena Richardson for the third time say the same things in that log like how the subject was called Doom Slayer, he's a human male, has a blood type of AB positive and all that jazz. After several seconds the log was over and he waited for what Vox had to say.
"Doom Slayer? Who the hell is the Doom Slayer?" Vox asked.
"You tell me. What other male human do we know of?" Lucifer said giving him an easy hint.
"Oh wait that fucking human who wanders around hell?" Vox asked to see if he was right.
"Spot on," Lucifer responded.
"So his name is the Doom Slayer. Quite a name I will say," Vox said. And he was right, not every day you find someone who has the title of the 'Doom Slayer.'
"True. But, it could just be a nickname after all," Lucifer added.
"Well, my next question is, where the hell did you get these?" Vox asked with an intrigued smile.
"Not every secret is meant to be shared," Lucifer responded with that devilish smile of his.
"What do you want me to do with these?" Vox asked.
"Well, I know you are great with the whole aspect of technology. I want a way for those to find their way to the public. Perhaps a way where everyone could have them. Hell has been extremely curious of him after all," Lucifer explained.
"Hmph, alright I'll see what I can do," Vox said as he picked the phone off the counter. He then grabbed a cord and plugged it into the phone which connected to a touchscreen computer. He began to swipe away and come up with a way to complete Lucifer's request. "You know your highness, you could have just given these to a news station."
"I could. But I don't care too much for news stations," Lucifer responded.
"Heh, believe me, I don't either," Vox said as he was swiping, expanding, and tapping on his screen of his. "Ah I think I got something."
"What is that?" Lucifer asked.
"Due to the fact that the majority of the technology in hell is run through the same system, I should be able to put those logs on everyone's phones," Vox explained.
"My, my, aren't you innovative. If I had to guess I'd say you were the one responsible for putting those logs on my phone. But then again, you probably would have gloated about it first," Lucifer said giving Vox a backhanded compliment.
"Gloating is half the fun," Vox said as he kept his eyes on the screen.
"Can't argue with that," Lucifer said with a shrug.
"It is done. Everyone should- I mean everyone with a phone will be getting those logs as well. And for a little extra, I made sure people knew they came from you," Vox explained.
"Reliable as ever aren't you Vox?" Lucifer said with a smile.
"I try," Vox said as he handed him his phone back. "Anything else that I can help with?"
"No. That would be all I needed," Lucifer said as he got up from the seat and stashed his phone in his pocket. "Now it's time to see what happens from here."
Hazbin Hotel a Few Hours Later
The Slayer and Angel walked up the pavement towards the hotel. Angel's estimate for how long they would be out was pretty accurate as it was only a few hours. It was a few hours that Angel really needed and definitely would be stocked up on his 'goodies' for at least a few weeks. He had a collection of hard alcohol, some goodies for Fat Nuggets, some snacks of his choosing, a few clothing items that Cherri suggested, and a bag of dust if he ever felt the need to take his mind off things. He didn't know how long this whole thing with Valentino was going to last. This could just be a permanent thing now and he would have to live his life in hell in hiding. He wished that wouldn't end up being the case as he did want to go back out and do shit like party, get fucked up, and have some great sex here and there. But this time on his own terms.
As Angel got close to the door, he realized that the loud footsteps of the Slayer had stopped, meaning he had stopped walking with him. He turned around to see that the Slayer was just standing there looking out into hell. Angel figured he didn't feel like going back inside yet, but he still had some things to say to him. He put his stuff on the ground and walked over to his side. "Well. Thanks...for this. Getting out to finally stretch my fucking legs again was nice. It was definitely something I needed to take my mind off of all this shit going on. Like I said I definitely owe you some favors of my own and hey if you come by my room, I could dish out a few favors if you'd like~" Angel said with a wink. He was hoping to maybe get some words out of the human but still got nothing. "I hope one day to really learn more about you. I feel like yer not that bad of a guy after all." That was the last thing Angel said before he headed back into the hotel.
The Slayer turned back around to face out into hell. He crossed his arms and decided that he would continue to stay there for some time.
Inside the hotel, Angel was a little confused as everyone was in the lobby but had odd looks on their faces like there were discussing something important. "Uh what the fuck going on here? Someone die or something?"
"Oh Angel there you are. We've been looking for you," Charlie greeted him as some pressure was finally off her shoulders.
"Yeah, yeah, I was out in Hell getting some things, but before you freak out, I didn't go alone," Angel said.
"We know. Husk told us that you got the human to go with you. Or I guess you got the Doom Slayer to go with you," Vaggie responded.
"Huh? Come again?" Angel asked as he didn't understand who the Doom Slayer was.
"Did you not get these voice logs on your phone?" Vaggie asked.
"Voice logs? Uh, I don't know. Haven't checked my phone in a while," Angel said as he put down the bags and went for his phone.
"We all got them, well except Alastor because he doesn't have one," Charlie said.
"Oh shit. Yeah, I got them too. But what is the deal with them anyways?" Angel asked as that hardly seemed that significant.
"Because they are about the human. Something that gives us a little insight into who he actually is. Because of that, I think it is definitely something to talk about. To talk about what kind of person we really have staying here," Vaggie spoke as the truth was finally beginning to come out.
