Sakra95: I'll see what I can do. I'm still working on how to introduce them into the story.
AlexBeowolf2: Maybe.
Guest02957: Thanks.
Guest: Lol.
Guest: I'll update it when I feel like it.
Guest: Does Hera LOOK like the type that would be such with anyone? Let alone a demigod of another pantheon?
Shieldtoad: I have a way for Athena, Artemis and Aphrodite to fit in the harem, alright? Plus, my story, my decisions.
Wolfking0811: There are three Goddesses Jakob has the LEAST respect for; Artemis, Aphrodite and Hera. I have a plan to fit Artemis and Aphrodite into the harem, if it all works well, and a way for Jakob to develop respect for those two at the same time. It's called character development.
Disclaimer: I do not own God of War or Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I only own the OC Jakob Thorsson.
After Andromeda had spoken with her father, she met up with Jakob and they went back down to Midgard. The two made it back to Manhattan. Andromeda said they were going to take a detour before heading back to Camp Half-Blood. Jakob guessed that she was going to see her mum.
After hearing Andromeda constantly worry about her mother, it started to remind Jakob of his own mother before he shook the memories away, not wanting to relieve them again.
When they got to the apartment and knocked on the door, Andromeda's breathing had hitched when none other than Sally Jackson answered it. Her eyes went wide when she saw her daughter.
"Mum!" Andromeda all but shouted as she lunges towards her mom and wrapped her in a hug as Sally did the same. She whispered soothing words into her daughter's ears as Andromeda got a little teary at finally getting her mother back. It just showed how much Andromeda had truly missed her mum.
Jakob stood a little ways off letting them have their moment and had a smile on his face as he watched the mother-daughter reunion. He felt a little sad that he didn't have this but he wasn't too bothered by it. He was a big boy, so he could survive. But that didn't mean it didn't hurt a little.
Once both of them were done with their reunion, Sally turned to Jakob curiously, wiping some tears from her face. "Hello. I don't believe we've met before. I'm Sally Jackson, Andie's mother. I assume you're her friend?"
"I am." Jakob nodded. "Jakob Thorsson, demigod son of Thor from the Norse pantheon. And yes, the Norse Gods also exist, and no Thor is not like the Marvel comics Thor. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Jackson."
"Just Sally is fine," Sally said, a smile on her face. "And any friend that's close to us is perfectly fine to me."
Jakob could see why Andromeda talked about her mother a lot. Sally Jackson was an amazing person, both from hearing about her and meeting her.
So Andromeda and Jakob talked to Sally about all that happened, almost giving her a heart attack. They told her all the ups and downs on their quest, and Sally listened to it all. Both demigods were about to get to the part about Ares when a man's voice interrupted the conversation.
"Hey, Sally! That meat loaf done yet or what?"
It came from inside the apartment. Jakob raised an eyebrow. So that must be 'Smelly Gabe'. Jakob had a feeling he was going to hate this man, just as much as he hated his father.
Sally also didn't like him either, because she scowled also. She turned to address Andromeda. "Gabe's being a bit difficult. What, with all of the phone calls we've been receiving. What are these 'appliances' and 'charges' that are being talked about?"
"Uh..." was Andromeda's reply, as she looked to Jakob for help. He just shrugged, indicating that Andromeda was on her own. Andromeda then turned to her mother. "See, the thing is..."
Sally just shook her head. She walked to Andromeda, resting her hands on her shoulders and looking her in the eye. "Just don't try and make him angry."
"Would you like some help, ma'a - I mean, Sally?" Jakob offered. He still wasn't used to calling her Sally yet.
Sally shook her head. "No, that's okay, Jakob. You don't have to get involved in this."
"I insist," Jakob stated firmly. Sally made to interject, but Andromeda clasped her hand on her shoulder, making her look towards her. Andromeda shook her head, telling her that it was pointless to argue. Sally sighed, and turned to Jakob. "Well... you can try."
"That's all that I need to do," Jakob said. With that, the trio walked into the apartment.
When they went into the living room, Jakob could see that the floor was covered entirely of filth and junk. Sitting on the couch and seemingly the cause of all it was Gabe. Damn, Andromeda really wasn't exaggerating when she talked about him. He was wearing a filthy tracksuit that barely seemed to cover his fat frame. He had three hairs combed over his scalp. Andromeda was spot-on to compare him to a tuskless walrus, because he looked exactly like that. Jakob wasn't like one of the Aphrodite kids at camp, who would judge you on your appearance. But he had to admit, Gabe probably had a shitty personality that reflected his appearance.
Jakob could also see that he was playing poker with a few other men as well.
Gabe finally looked up from his game and looked at the trio. Upon seeing Andromeda, his face morphed into one of anger. No doubt it was about to get ugly.
"You got a lot of nerve coming here, you little punk. I thought the police-"
"Gabe just let this go please. She's already come home. What's done is done and let's just put it in the past." Sally said. This got raised eyebrows from Gabe.
"Put it in the past? Do you expect me to forget all the trouble this brat has caused me over the last few weeks. And now she's brought another wandering stray with her. Probably wanted a 'bedmate' who was abandoned by his mommy and became too broke to live properly."
"Gabe!" Sally exclaimed loudly, but he wasn't having any of it. He raised his hand, making Sally flinch. Both Jakob and Andromeda saw this, and immediately put the pieces together. Gabe had hit Sally before. This revelation made both demigods equally furious, Andromeda because it was her mum, and Jakob because of what Gabe said about his mother, and the fact that Sally didn't deserve the shit coming from this scum. Making up his mind, Jakob stepped forward, fist clenched.
Seeing this, Gabe just continued to mock the boy. "Aw, what's wrong, boy? Gonna cry now? Touch me, and you'll join brain boy in prison. You understand me, ya little shit? Your parents aren't gonna save you. Then again, they probably le-"
Gabe was cut off when a fist was driven right into the bridge of his nose, and the sound of something breaking was heard, followed by a small splatter of blood. Roaring, he grabbed his nose, trying to stem the now pouring blood that came from his nose, but to no avail. He looked up, eyes mad with fury, but flinched at the identical look in Jakob's eyes, only his were glowing.
"You fucked up now, boy." Jakob said mockingly. "If there's one thing I cannot stand in the world next to the likes of rape... it's abuse of any kind.
Gabe's poker buddies made to stand up but the Leviathan Axe was thrown and impaled through the table, causing the men to freeze in their tracks while Jakob pointed warningly at them.
"Don't. Move." The Son of Thor growled and redirected his attention back to Gabe.
"You brat! I'm gonna make you pay for this! You hear me?! I'll make sure you never see the light of day when you're in a prison cell! You, brain boy, and that bit-"
He was interrupted again when Jakob punched him in the jaw, adding his earthquake powers into his arm. The result was that Gsbe's jaw snapped to the other side almost comically, a crack echoing across the room, even louder than when Gabe's nose was broken. This time he screamed in agony as a couple of his teeth were spat out, bloody and broken. He probably had a couple more lodged down his throat. His cries turned to whimpers as he held his jaw tenderly, blood leaking out of his mouth and pouring on his hands and tracksuit, joining the previous stains from his broken nose.
"Let that be a little lesson for you, buddy." Jakob said, patting Gabe's head like a child being scolded. "Now listen close, you waste of flesh. If I ever see you again or see you anywhere near Andromeda or Sally again, I will personally take your soul straight down to Hel."
Hela would have a fun time ensuring this one is given his just desserts.
"Hey Jakob!" Andromeda called, causing jakob to look over and see her holding a familiar package in hand.
The one that they sent Medusa's head in to Olympus.
Jakob raised an eyebrow at her and she nodded. Jakob smirked and stood. "He's all yours."
With that, Jakob decided to go wait outside, recalling the Leviathan Axe to him in the process.
They were the first heroes to return alive to Half-Blood Hill since Luke, so of course everybody treated them as if they'd won some reality-TV contest. According to camp tradition, they wore laurel wreaths to a big feast prepared in their honour, then led a procession down to the bonfire, where they got to burn the burial shrouds their cabins had made for them in their absence.
Annabeth's shroud was so beautiful - grey silk with embroidered owls - Andromeda told her it seemed a shame not to bury her in it. She punched her and told her to shut up as Jakob laughed.
Being the daughter of Poseidon, Jakob didn't have any cabin mates, so the Ares cabin had volunteered to make her shroud. They'd taken an old bed sheet and painted smiley faces with X'ed-out eyes around the border, and the word LOSER painted really big in the middle.
It was fun to burn in Andromeda's opinion.
The Ares cabin wanted to do Jakob's own, but the Aphrodite cabin insisted on it, and they backed down eventually. It was hot pink satin with baby blue trimming and it had an embroidered lightning bolt and hammer on it. Even if Jakob had a bad relationship with his father, he was still alright with seeing his father's weapon on it. Jakob was grateful for the shroud anyway, and gave Silena a hug since she came up with the idea. She returned the hug, even if she blushed a bit and received teasing from Cabin Ten.
Jakob was almost sad he had to burn it, even if there was pink on it.
In other news, Jakob's cabin had finally been finished and filled with all the stuff he wanted inside, which includes video game consoles of each type. Xbox, Playsation, Nintendo, video games of each kind, a giant flat-screen TV on the wall, bathroom, comic books, anime/manga, books, a wardrobe, a king sized bed, a trophy room for all his spoils of war (where he put the fang from Lamia, the horn from the Chimera, and a piece of Ares' shield that had fallen off during the fight, a piece Jakob had swiped), there was also a bit for him to hang his axe up on, a pedestal to place Mimir on... and also the cabin was blessed by Hestia herself, which explains the warm feeling Jakob gets when walking into it, especially from the fireplace
Apparently, Hestia must've guessed Jakob was living in the camp permanently and ensured that his cabin would be untouched by anyone while he was gone.
it was a perfect place to live in when Jakob does visit the camp.
As Apollo cabin led the sing-along and passed out s'mores, Andromeda and jakob were surrounded by their old Hermes cabin mates, Annabeth's friends from Athena, telling about the quest, and Grover's satyr buddies, who were admiring the brand-new searcher's license he'd received from the Council of Cloven Elders.
The council had called Grover's performance on the quest "Brave to the point of indigestion. Horns-and-whiskers above anything we have seen in the past."
The only ones not in a party mood were Clarisse and her cabin mates, whose poisonous looks told both Andromeda and Jakob they'd never forgive them for disgracing their dad.
Oh well, haters gonna hate.
Even Dionysus' welcome-home speech wasn't enough to dampen their spirits. "Yes, yes, so the little brats didn't get themselves killed and now they'll have even bigger heads. Well, huzzah for that. In other announcements, there will be no canoe races this Saturday..."
On the Fourth of July, the whole camp gathered at the beach for a fireworks display by cabin nine. Being Hephaestus's kids, they weren't going to settle for a few lame red-white-and-blue explosions.
They'd anchored a barge offshore and loaded it with rockets the size of Patriot missiles. According to Annabeth, who'd seen the show before, the blasts would be sequenced so tightly they'd look like frames of animation across the sky. The finale was supposed to be a couple of hundred-foot-tall Spartan warriors who would crackle to life above the ocean, fight a battle, then explode into a million colours.
As Annabeth, Jakob, and Andromeda were spreading a picnic blanket, Grover showed up to tell them good-bye. He was dressed in his usual jeans and T-shirt and sneakers, but in the last few weeks he'd started to look older, almost high-school age. His goatee had gotten thicker. He'd put on weight. His horns had grown at least an inch, so he now had to wear his rasta cap all the time to pass as human.
"I'm off," he said. "I just came to say... well, you know."
"Great goodbye speech, Grov," Jakob said, earning him a punch from Annabeth.
Andromeda was both happy and sad to see him go. Happy he got his license but saddened to see who she considered her oldest friend leaving.
Annabeth gave him a hug. She told him to keep his fake feet on.
Jakob patted him on the shoulder, wishing him luck and to try not to jinx himself so he didn't get into trouble.
Andromeda asked him where he was going to search first.
"Kind of a secret," he said, looking embarrassed. "I wish you could come with me, guys, but humans and Pan..."
"We understand," Annabeth said. "You got enough tin cans for the trip?"
"Yeah."
"And you remembered your reed pipes?" she added.
"Jeez, Annabeth," he grumbled. "You're like an old mama goat."
But he didn't really sound annoyed.
Jakob gave him a manly hug, which he returned. He also gave a hug to Annabeth. Then he gripped his walking stick and slung a backpack over his shoulder. He looked like any hitchhiker you might see on an American highway - nothing like the little runty boy that Andromeda would defend from bullies on the playground.
"Well," he said, "wish me luck."
He clapped Andromeda on the shoulder, then headed back through the dunes.
Fireworks exploded to life overhead: Hercules killing the Nemean Lion, Artemis chasing the boar, George Washington (who, by the way, was a son of Athena) crossing the Delaware.
"Hey, Grover," Andromeda called.
The goat boy turned at the edge of the woods.
"Wherever you're going, I hope they make good enchiladas."
Grover grinned, and then he was gone, the trees closing around him.
"We'll see him again," Annabeth said.
"Obviously. He'd be lost without us," Jakob snorted, though there was no malice behind his words.
"I hope he succeeds in his quest." Mimir sighed from where he was dangling from Jakob's hip. "Pan is a God even my fellow Fae respected and admired."
Andromeda wanted to believe them, but she was still worried. No searcher had ever come back in like a thousand years or something. But she just had a feeling that Grover would be the first.
Jakob and Andromeda joined in several games of Capture the Flag, yes Jakob joined in after much convincing from the combined might of Andromeda, Annabeth, Silena and Katie.
Damn those girls and their... growing attractive looks!
Andromeda helped come up with new strategies that were used, while Jakob used his abilities to successfully get the flag. Needless to say, Jakob became one of the most sought out people for CTF.
Andromeda also informed Jakob on the state of her mum. Apparently, Gabe got turned into a statue thanks to the use of Medusa's head. Jakob wondered which afterlife he'll be going to, though he hoped Hela found a way to get her hands on him somehow.
Andromeda also told Jakob that there was the option of living with each other, an offer Sally had no problem with after she heard that Jakob had nowhere else to go due to being in hiding from his family, and he had no intention of staying full-time at Camp Half-Blood. But Jakob sadly declined. As much as he was thankful for the offer, he didn't want to intrude. Besides, he'd find a place to stay until next time. Andromeda was very sad, but relented.
The last night of the summer session came all too quickly.
The campers had one last meal together. They burned part of their dinner for the gods. At the bonfire, the senior counselors awarded the end-of-summer beads.
Jakob and Andromeda got their own leather necklaces, and when they saw the bead for their first summer, both demigods couldn't help but grin at one another. It was a pitch black bead, with a green trident for Andromeda. For Jakob's, his was a pitch black bead as well, with the Leviathan Axe on it.
"The choice was unanimous," Luke announced. "This bead commemorates the first Daughter of the Sea God at this camp in decades, as well as the first Son of Thor at this camp for the first time ever, and the quest they undertook into the darkest part of the Underworld to stop a war!"
The entire camp got to their feet and cheered. Even Ares' cabin felt obliged to stand. Athena's cabin steered Annabeth to the front so she could share in the applause too.
Jakob wouldn't admit it, but he felt really happy at the moment. In the beginning, he didn't trust them. He was wary of them for the fact they were offspring of the Olympians, a pantheon of Gods that did not get along well with his own and were natural enemies. However, he had grown to trust them, to realize the demigods weren't their parents just as he wasn't his father. He was not loyal to Olympus or Asgard, his loyalty was to those he calls his friends and he would protect them and be in their lives as long as they wanted him in their lives. It was a shame he would be leaving them, but he had long decided he would not stick around on a full-time basis.
The next morning, Jakob was packing up to leave grabbing his Leviathan Axe and hooking it to his back before grabbing Mimir's head.
"Time to leave, brother?" Mimir asked.
"Not yet. I've got to see Silena first." Jakob said, remembering she wanted to give him something before he leaves.
With that, he raced out of his cabin, sprinting towards Cabin Ten, getting nymphs and campers to look at him funnily. As he reached the eyesore of a cabin, he knocked, breathing heavily.
The cabin door opened, and Silena showed her face through the doorway. When she saw his face, she pouted. "I thought I told you to arrive earlier, like ten minutes ago."
"Sorry," Jakob apologized. "I got held up with... stuff. Anyway, you needed me for something?"
"Yeah." With that, she reached into her pocket and brought out a slip of paper, which she gave to him. "Here. This is my Skype details."
Jakob looked at the piece of paper, and then back to her. "You use Skype?"
At his question, she frowned. "What's wrong with that?"
"Who uses Skype nowadays? Only old people use it."
"Well, you don't see me use a phone because of monsters, so I have to make due."
"With Skype? I don't even have Skype!"
"Well, get it!" she exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air in exasperation. "Excuse me for trying to come up with a way to keep in touch with each other."
"I don't even have a computer!" Though he could find a way to get one, he did still have one of the LotusCards on him. "I'm not going to go get a computer just to use Skype. Use another method!"
"I don't want to because that's all I have!"
"Well, have you tried using letters, because I think I'd prefer that over using-"
"You will use get a Skype account and try and message me when you're away." She said this part strongly, putting emphasis on her words.
Jakob was about to argue, but found that his mouth wouldn't open. In fact, he even found himself wanting to listen her, to get a computer and set up a Skype account. He growled and shook it off.
"Hey, no Charmspeak." He pointed at her. "We both know I have too strong a willpower to fall for that. It's not fair in an argument."
Silena shrugged. "It's easier to win arguments that way."
"Cheater."
"I call it 'playing to your strengths'."
"You still cheated... but I'll get a computer and get Skype if it makes you so bloody happy."
Silena smiled smugly. "Good boy."
"Oi, save your flirting for later. Some of us are trying to pack here!" Yelled one camper, dragging his suitcase behind him. Other campers nodded in agreement, though a few looked at the two of them in amusement.
Both Silena and Jakob blushed, not paying attention to now gathered campers. Turning to face her, Jakob decided to ask her something. "So, uh, you want to, uh, hang out until we leave?"
Silena got rid of her blush, and nodded, smiling. "Sure."
So they just walked around the camp, wandering aimlessly, just chatting with one another. Silena told him about her dad, and how she managed living with him. She also told him that she came to camp when she was eleven. When she asked about where he'll go from here, Jakob said he wasn't sure yet but he doubted he'll be sticking around in New York. But he will come back eventually.
It felt nice for the two of them. However, they had to ignore the teasing looks some nymphs, naiads and campers sent them. Jakob planned to get revenge on them at some point, no matter how long it took.
The two of them didn't know how long their walk took, but they didn't really care. They were enjoying their walk together.
"I'm going to miss you, you know." Silena said after a moment of silence.
"You'll see me again." Jakob assured as they came to a stop near the lake, staring out at it. "Whenever this camp needs help, when you all need help, I'll be there. I'll try and make an occasional visit, but I need to get on my feet first."
Silena smiled at him softly, then, after a pause, leaned forward and pressed her lips against his cheek in a soft kiss. Jakob stiffened in shock, staring at her with wide eyes, his cheeks turning red... even though this was FAR from his first kiss from a girl, but Silena made him feel a tingly feeling in his stomach.
Silena giggled. "Just a goodbye present."
"Well... I'll treasure it." Jakob said, making her smile once more.
Soon, after parting ways with Silena after a goodbye hug, Jakob was making his way to the border of Camp Half-Blood. He came to a stop next to the Thalia's tree, glancing back at the camp, that had become another home to him.
"You could still stay." Mimir pointed out.
Jakob shook his head. "No. Much as I would like to, I cannot just now. I've been on the road for five months before we came here, old habits die hard. Maybe one day I'll decide to stick around here for good, but that day is not today."
"I hope you aren't planning on leaving without saying goodbye to me, lightning breath." A familiar voice said, causing jakob to turn and see Annabeth standing there with a smirk, hands on her hips.
Jakob chuckled and walked over before noticing the lack of a certain someone. "Where's Andromeda?"
"Not sure I thought she would've been here to say goodbye to you." Annabeth said with a frown, not sure what was keeping the Daughter of Poseidon. "But I'll say goodbye on her behalf."
Jakob nodded and pulled Annabeth close, hugging her. The Daughter of Athena blushed, feeling his warm body and hard muscle beneath, but smiled and hugged him back... even snuggled a little due to the warmth.
"Hey, I'm no heater." jakob joked, causing the girl to quickly back off while still blushing. "But I'm flattered, wise girl."
"S-Shut up!" Annabeth said, punching him in the stomach. They both chuckled and soon died down. "I'm going to miss you."
"Like I told Silena, you'll see me again." Jakob said with a smile.
"I better." Annabeth pointed warningly but playfully at him.
Jakob smiled and shared one last hug with her before turning to leave, then paused and looked at Annabeth. "Make sure to tell Andromeda to keep up her combat training. Ain't no way is she going rusty while I'm gone."
"I'll be sure to tell her." Annabeth said and waved him goodbye, a wave that Jakob returned as he walked away, passing through the barrier and leaving Camp Half-Blood.
"So brother, what's next?" Mimir asked curiously.
Jakob said nothing. thinking on an answer. And then, the Oracle's words rang through his head, the final line. The son of lightning's path begins...
Jakob smiled and shrugged. "Wherever my path takes us, I suppose..."
And so ends the Lightning Thief storyline. yeah, I could've had Jakob stick around Camp Half-Blood, but decided not to. He'll be back though, for Sea of Monsters. but first, he's got his own thing to do... even though he's unsure of what that is.
However, in the next chapter, as he's looking for a place to stay and rest his head, he comes across a certain pair of Dwarves, the very ones who crafted the axe he wields.
