Disclaimer: I do not own God of War or Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I only own the OC Jakob Thorsson.
'I'm gone for a couple of hours to deal with the Nemean Lion... and I come back to this?' Jakob thought to himself with a shake of his head as he stood hidden in the trees outside of Westover Hall, watching as the manticore, Thorn, held Bianca and Nico hostage to prevent the demigods in front of him from attacking. Those demigods consisted of his friend; Andromeda Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Thalia Grace. With them was their Satyr friend, Grover Underwood.
Jakob had left this morning to hunt down the Nemean Lion after picking up on the legendary monster's trail upon discovering several bodies mangled and torn apart. He couldn't allow it to continue going around killing, so he hunted it down but it had evaded him so he returned to Westover Hall only to find out about the current situation, which meant that Thorn had made his move.
Jakob had kept a careful eye on the manticore in the past few months since Thorn appeared at Westover Hall, ensuring Bianca and Nico were well within his sight and protected by him, and never allowing them to be anywhere near the manticore or at least alone with him.
'They've improved... if only slightly.' Jakob thought with a deep frown as he watched his friends, knowing they needed to be a little more trained up than what they've put themselves through if they want to unlock their true potential, something he will correct when he gets back to camp with them. Andromeda and Thalia especially needed the work, with their powers mainly as their combat skills were... adequate, if he had to be blunt about it.
Although, he did appreciate how much more attractive Andromeda, Thalia and Annabeth had grown since he last saw them.
Andromeda wore a dark blue long sleeve jacket over a gray hoodie, a violet t-shirt underneath, a blue skirt that hid her black sport shorts and lastly violet socks worn under a pair blue and white running shoes. Her body had become slightly more toned and athletic from the training, which was a good sign as it showed her progress.
Annabeth was the same, having grown a slender and athletic frame as well, and wore black boots, navy blue jeans, a dark red shirt and a grey jacket over it.
'Looks like Thalia grew her hair out.' Jakob thought with surprise, seeing Thalia's hair had grown longer and had been tied into a ponytail. He wasn't complaining, she suited long hair more if he was being honest.
Jakob himself had changed from his own training, by himself and the training he was put through by other gods of different pantheons. His hair had grown out and draped over his shoulders, and he was content to leave it like that. He wore a faded black, 3/4-length, hooded leather coat with red interior linings and the British Union flag sewn on the left arm, a gray tank top, black fingerless gloves, and black cargo pants tucked into black steel-toed boots.
"Alright, time to put an end to this." Jakob said as he pushed off the tree.
"Be careful, brother, if what you said earlier is true, then we may be meeting an Olympian soon." Mimir warned, as Jakob had earlier stated that he detected the presence of an Olympian along with several others that shared similar aura, which could only relate to one group; the hunters of Artemis and the Goddess of the Moon herself.
"Joy." Jakob muttered, watching as Thorn backed away from the demigods, and so jakob took the Leviathan Axe off the hook on his back, reared it back before launching it directly at the attack chopper, striking it in the tail rotor, which caught everyone'e attention as they watched the helicopter spin out of control before it crashed into the ground nearby, resulting in an explosion that made the group flinch back.
"WHAT?!" Thorn roared, wondering who did that. He got his answer a moment later when he roared in pain upon feeling somethings trike his back, causing him to release Bianca and Nico, who quickly grabbed each other and backed away as Thorn fell to his knees, looking down to see the blade of an axe embedded right through his chest fromn the back.
The sky thundered before Jakob burst out of the forest and into the air, then shot right back down with the ground shaking at his impact. He straightened up as the sky continued to rumble with thunder before it died down on his command as he turned to regard Thorn, ignoring the wide-eyed looks sent to him by his friends.
"Jakob?!" Bianca shouted in surprise, so confused and frightened by everything going on, now with the sight of her friend, and the boy she had a deep crush on, just appeared from the sky.
"T-Thorsson!" Thorn spat at the Norse demigod.
"Thorn." Jakob nodded, then grabbed the Axe by the blade and pulled it right through Thorn's chest, causing the manticore to hiss in pain as Jakob twirled the Axe before leaning it on his shoulder. "You tried to harm my friends. That was the stupidest mistake you could have ever made in your pathetic existence. Now Talk! Why are you here? What do you want with my friends? And a word of advice; if you know what my kind are capable of, especially my father, then you'll realize that I'm a lot nicer compared to him, but that can change in a heartbeat if I don't like what I hear."
"Προτιμώ να γαμήσω τη μητέρα σου παρά να μιλήσω, Θόρσον!" Thorn spat in Greek, earning a blank stare from Jakob.
"Δεν θα σου έδινε καν την ώρα της ημέρας." Jakob replied in perfect, fluent Greek, before he reared the Axe back and chopped Thorn's head off. He watched the body fall as it dissolved into golden dust, shaking his head. "Μέτριος." He hooked his Axe to thehook on the back of his coat before approaching Bianca and Nico, checking them over with a frown. "Are you two okay?"
"Y-ye-yeah, we're…we're fine. Completely freaking out and questioning what's even real anymore, but other than that perfectly fine!" Said Bianca with a strained smile while trying to calm her continuously rising nerves.
"Right, that's understandable and sorry that you both had to find out about…well…all this, like that. But I will explain it all, I promise." Said Jakob, making Bianca nod slowly and calm down a little, knowing if he made a promise then he'd keep it. Jakob then turned and regarded his other friends with a small smile. "Hey girls, Grover, been a few months."
"To say the least!" Thalia huffed, crossing her arms but she was nevertheless glad to see him again. She smirked at him. "You've been busy."
Jakob just shrugged. "I did say I was off for some personal training of my own, and I had a job." He glanced at Bianca and Nico as he said that last part, indicating who his job had been. He turned to them again with a frown. "I take it you guys came to bring them to camp."
"Yeah, then-" Andromed started but was cut off as Jakob held a hand up for her to be silent.
"You need work. The three of you." Jakob said seriously, looking from Andromeda to Annabeth to Thalia. "While I can see improvement from when we last saw each other, there is more work and improvement needed. Andromeda, you are the daughter of Poseidon, and the snow if frozen water, you should have a connection to it."
Andromeda looked down at that, having not even thought of that.
Jakob looked at Thalia. "Thalia, you could've called down a bolt of lightning down on top of the copter or control the wind to knock it off-course. Or maybe do what I just did, before, and throw your weapon at the monster rather than charge at it." He said, with the daughter of Zeus flinching at his words, unable to come up with a retort, and looked down so as to not see the disappointment in his eyes. He turned to Annabeth. "Need I go over yours, Annabeth?"
"I…could have attacked Thorn when I was invisible, possibly even killed him if I was able to get close enough. Or I could have distracted him, giving Andromeda an opening to attack along with Thalia and Grover, or let her get Bianca and Nico out of harm's way." Said Annabeth, being able to figure out what she could've done better after Jakob began listing their mistakes.
"Yes, you could have. All of you had several options to choose from to deal with Thorn and the helicopter before being surrounded and left helpless. But, instead, you choose to just rush in recklessly and fight head-on, completely forgetting about your own abilities. This will not stand anymore. You expect me to train you? Well guess what, you got your wish and I'll make warriors out of you by the time I'm done, rather than acting like children playing a game." Jakob said, with the three demigods looking down at being reprimanded and unable to make any retorts.
"We're sorry." Annabeth, Andromeda, and Thalia said.
"As I've said before; Don't be sorry, be better." Said Jakob, narrowing his eyes at them, making the three nod in response, seeing it as a lesson they had to learn, while being thankful that nothing too bad happened.
"Uh…can we get some answers, please?!" Bianca asked, waving her hand at them, hoping to finally know what's going on, before Jakob rubbed his eyes while mentally groaning.
"That may have to wear, child." Mimir said gently, startling Bianca before Jakob took Mimir off his belt, causing Bianca to gape in shock while Nico looked in awe.
"Coool... you have a talking head!" Nico said with amazement.
Jakob sighed again. "I'll explain that later, but not right now. We have company." He turned towards the tree. "You can come out now... hunters."
From the forest, a dozen girls, the youngest being ten and the oldest being fourteen, came out from the trees, all of them carrying bows, while wearing silver parkas and jeans. With them also having determined and suspicious expressions as they looked at Jakob, with a few even looking ready to even shoot him.
"The Hunters?!" Annabeth said in surprise, not expecting the Hunters to be here.
"Oh great, like things weren't bad enough." Muttered Thalia, annoyed that she now had to deal with her least favorite group, as one of the girls stepped forward.
The girl appeared to be fourteen-years-old with her being tall, graceful, and gorgeously beautiful. She had brown eyes, a slightly upturned nose, copper-colored skin, and the silver circlet braided into the top of her long, dark hair gave her the impression of a Persian princess.
"Permission to kill, my lady?" The girl asked, not hesitating in aiming an arrow right at Jakob's heart, much to the demigods' shock and disbelief, along with Bianca's and Nico's worry for their friend.
"Seriously Nightshade?! Can you cool it for like five minutes?!" Thalia exclaimed in disbelief that despite her grudge against boys, she'd try to attack Jakob despite likely having seen what he could do.
Jakob simply narrowed his eyes at the girl aiming an arrow at him. "You had better be very sure." He warned lowly, a spark of lightning dancing across his arm briefly.
"Peace Zoe, this is not a fight any of us would want." Another girl said, putting a hand on Zoe's arm, lowering her bow.
The second girl looked to be twelve or thirteen, had auburn hair gathered back in a ponytail, cold and bright eyes as silvery yellow as the winter and was clad in similar attire as the girls around her.
"Very well, my lady." Zoe said with a bow to the girl before stepping back, with the second girl then facing Jakob with a wary expression.
"So, you're Artemis." Jakob stated more than asked, shocking Andromeda, Bianca, and Nico, while Annabeth, Thalia, and Grover were already aware of who the goddess was.
"And you are Jakob Thorsson, the Norse demigod son of Thor." Artemis replied. "My brother, Ares, had quite a few things to say about you after your last encounter. None of them were good."
Like I care." Jakob scoffed, crossing his arms. "So what? Did daddy send you to finally kill me? Did he get too tired of having me roaming around out of paranoia and fear?"
Artemis narrowed her eyes at his tone. "You should speak to me with more respect, boy."
"My respect is earned, not given." Jakob retorted. "Now unless you want this to turn into a fight, I suggest you answer my question."
"How dare-" Zoe stepped forward but Artemis held a hand up, silencing her.
"Fortunately for you, I am not here to kill you." Artemis said. "And I would prefer if this meeting remained peaceful rather than turn hostile."
"That's a first for an Olympian. Keep the peace rather than straight up go for the kill." Jakob snorted in amusement, earning a glare from the Goddess of the Hunt.
"Okay, Jakob has definitely just gone up a notch in my book." Thalia whispered to Gover, Annabeth and Andromeda with the former two rolling their eyes at that, not being the least bit surprised given her distaste for the Hunters.
"Then please, would you all join us at our camp? I'm sure all of us can be given some answers." Said Artemis, motioning them to follow her and her Hunters, with Andromeda, Annabeth, Thalia with her being rather reluctant, and Grover followed them
Jakob glanced at Bianca and Nico giving them a nod, before he followed with the two behind him.
And that's it for this chapter everyone. Sorry for the wait... but what I do NOT appreciate is the constant demands for this story to be updated. I get that it's a big favourite and whatnot, but I'm nearly forty chapters into this story, so there's enough content for you to read. I have other projects to complete as well, you know.
And... THIS STORY HAS REACHED OVER 1,000 FAVOURITES AND FOLLOWERS! WOOOOO! THANK YOU! THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!
Also, apparently someone has literally copied this story word for word on Webnovel, and when I say word for word, I mean it's literally all the same with the OC being the same. So to that person, if they see this text, I want you to delete that story or else I'm going to have to report it, even if I have to create an account on Webnovel to do it. You know who you are, so don't try acting dumb.
