Sophia and Melody stood to the side as Mal and Evie made the love potion. Mal stirred the cookie batter while EBie added each of the ingredients. Mal tapped her book that was open on the counter. "Ok is say's we still need one tear." She said. "And I never cry."
"Let's just chop up some onions." Carlos suggested. He picked up an onion from the box beside him and offered it over to the girls.
"It is devastatingly clear that you have no clue as to how potions are made." Melody stated. "If the book say's you need a tear of human sadness, you get a tear of human sadness."
"We had some at home." Sophia sighed. "But it would take too long for Mother to send them over."
"A tear's a tear." Jay sighed,
"That's not true Jay." Evie cut in, placing a bag of sugar on the counter. "Both have antibodies and enzymes but an emotional tear has more protein-based hormones than a reflux tear."
"Listen to you." Mal complemented, sprinkling some sugar into the batter. Jay leaned back onto the counter.
"I new that." He said,
"Did not." Carlos argued, slapping his arm lightly,
"Yeah I did." The door then opened and Lonnie burst in.
"There you are Mal! I was looking for you!" Lonnie exclaimed as Mal quickly covered the spellbook with a cloth. "You know all the girls want you to do their hair!" Lonnie said. She peered into the mixing bowl. "Midnight snack huh? Whatcha guys making?"
"Nothing special just cookies." Mal said and shrugged. Lonnie then took her finger, put it in the batter and scooped some up. Lonnie put her finger to her mouth and licked it clean.
"No wait!" The VK's exclaimed. Sophia and Melody didn't react. The potion was half-done, it wouldn't have any effect on anyone until the tear was added.
"What? I'm not going to double dip."
"Feel anything?" Evie asked.
"Yeah like maybe it might be missing something?" Mal questioned, watching Lonnie closely. Jay walked up to Lonnie and flashed her a smile.
"Hey there." Lonnie stared at him blankly.
"Could use some chips." She decided after a pause, walking over to the fridge. Mal, Evie and Carlos sighed loudly while Jay looked hurt, going back to his original spot leaning against a railing.
"And those are?" Mal asked, continuing the mixing process.
"Chocolate chips." Lonnie closed the fridge, in her hand a bowl of said item. "Just the most important food group." Lonnie offered some to Sophia and Melody, who she had just noticed. The sisters took a couple each and popped them into their mouth. Lonnie pranced over to the table and set the bowl down. She grabbed a handful and sprinkled them into the batter. "Wait. Didn't your mums ever make you guys chocolate chip cookies?" The VK's gave Lonnie a confused look as Lonnie popped a chip into her mouth. Mal stopped mixing and Sophia and Melody wanted to strangle them for being so distracted. "Like, when you're feeling sad, and there fresh out of the oven with a big 'ol glass of milk and she makes you laugh and puts everything into perspective and…" She trailed off, looking at us who were looking at her with sad looks. "Why are you all looking at me like that?"
"It's just different where were from." Mal told her, resuming her mixing. Lonnie looked in between Mal and Evie, then to Jay and Carlos.
"Yeah I know, I just thought that even villains love there kids…" Lonnie trailed off again. She reached out and grabbed Mal's hand. "How awful." A tear slid down Lonnie's cheek. Mal noticed. She quickly swiped the tear from Lonnie's cheek and flicked into the batter. Huh Melody thought, So Lonnie did prove to be useful and not just a distraction. Evie hurriedly grabbed the spoon and furiously mixed the tear into the potion. Mal started to push Lonnie out of the room.
"Yeah, well big bummer, but we have to get these in the oven so thank you so much for coming by. Realy, really have a good night, see you tomorrow, Evil Dreams..."
"Goodnight." Lonnie called behind her as she closed the door.
"Ok! Boy's cookie sheet, Evie oven." Mal ordered.
"Yes Ma'am." Evie said, picking up the mixing bowl and following Jay and Carlos. Melody and Sophia sat back and watched
TIMESKIP NEXT DAY
The day of the Tourney Game arrived. Sophia and Melody changed into their Auradon colours, albeit reluctantly. Melody changed into a blue skirt, a yellow top and yellow flats, pulling her hair into a ponytail. Sophia on the other hand was wearing yellow pants, a blue, long-sleeved shirt and matching boots. The twins followed Mal and Jay as they walked to Mal's locker. Melody and Sophia hung back, leaning against a railing a little bit away. They spotted Ben and Audrey exit a corridor that lead to the courtyard. The girls sitting in the courtyard sotted Mal and got excited. "Hey, Mal! Love my hair Mal!" A couple of girls waved at her from a nearby table. She waved at them and opened her locker, getting out the cookie that they made last night.
"Are you feeling weird about this?" Jay asked, leaning on the lockers. Mal turned to him, "I mean it's not so bad here, you know..." al looked at him with wide eyes as he chuckled,
"Are you insane?" Mal asked, causing his face to fall. "Long live evil!" She shook her fist in Jay's face, "You're mean! You're awful! You're bad news!" She snapped her fingers once in front of Jay's face, causing him to jump. "Snap out of it!"
"Thanks Soph." He said, smirking, "I needed that." I pat him on the shoulder as he went to flirt with the nearby table of girls.
"Do you think they actually paid for those?" Audrey asked Ben, "She did that to Jane's hair too and Fairy Godmother's not happy about it." She ranted.
"What's the harm?" Ben asked, shrugging,
"It's gateway magic! Sure it starts with the hair, next thing you know it's the lips and the legs and the clothes and everyone will look beautiful and then." She put her hand to her chest like she was in mortal danger. "Where will I be?" She whimpered. I snorted, and I thought my mother was vain.
"Listen, Audrey-" Ben started. Audrey composed herself,
"I will see you at the game after my dress-fitting for the Coronation Ok?" She smiled,
"Ok." Ben responded.
"Bye Bennyboo!" She air-kissed his cheek and walked away,
"Bye…" Ben said boredly like he was tired of Audrey's antics. Which he most likely was. Sophia and Melody shared a look, they too were tired of the princess' antics. Mal slammed her locker shut and turned to Ben.
"Hey, Bennyboo!" She mocked. Ben turned and smiled.
"Hey." Ben walked over to Mal.
"I just made a batch of cookies, double chocolate chip. Do you want one?" Mal showed him a ziplock bag with a single cookie,
"Oh. I, uh, I've have a big game. I don't eat before a big game." He explained, "But thank you so, so much. Thank you. Next time." Ben started to walk away.
"Oh, I completely understand." Ben stopped and turned to Mal. "'Be careful of treats offered by kids of villains'"
"No, no, no." Ben started to defend but Mal cut him off.
"I'm pretty sure that every kid in Auradon knows that."
"No! That's not it. No, no, no I-I really do-" Ben stuttered,
"No, I get it. You're cautious. That's smart." Mal opened the bag and took out the cookie. "Oh well, more for me I guess." Mal acted like she was going to eat the cookie,
"No, no. Hey." Ben took the cookie out of Mal's hand and took a big bite out of it. "See that?" He said with a mouth full of cookie, "Totally trust you." He stated. The VK's approached the two, stepping up behind duo.
"How are they?" Mal asked. Sophia and Melody inched closer.
"They're good. They're great! They're amazing!" He gave a short laugh, "They're, uh, I mean they're chewy, and, and you know they, is that walnuts?" He looked at Mal and she nodded, "I love walnuts. I mean, uh, you know the… the chocolate." He cleared his throat, "The… the chocolate… the chocolate chips are…" The twins looked at him curiously. "I'm sorry, um. Uh, they're… they're warm and soft. And they're sweet…" Ben looked directly into Mal's eyes, "Mal, have you always had those little golden flecks in your eyes?" The potion was in effect. Ben tried to take another bite out of the cookie but Melody quickly stepped forward and took the cookie out of his hand. Mal handed me the zip-lock bag and the black-haired girl deposited the cookie inside it. Jay walked up behind Ben and put his hand on his shoulder.
"How you feeling, bro?" Jay asked,
"I feel… I feel… I feel like… like singing your name! MA-" Mal rushed forward and slapped her hand over Ben's mouth. Sophia looked over Meloydy's shoulder, gazing at the cookie. That thing was strong. What was gonna happen if this is the strength of a single cookie?
TIMESKIP
Sophia and melody stood next to Lonnie, silently watching the tourney game. It was the Fighting Knights of Auradon Prep and the Sherwood Falcons of Sherwood Forest. It was all tied up. The twins clapped politely as Ben scored the winning goal. Sophia scowled at the cheering crowd, she wasn't fond of large crowds, and she didn't like loud noises in general. Melody, on the other hand, was more capable of handling more social tasks than her twin, but she always kept close to her sister so that Sophia didn't decide to accidentally murder someone. "Excuse me. Excuse me. Can I have your attention please." Ben said, standing up on the stand where the shooter stood during the game. "There's something I'd like to say." Ben looked around, "Give me an M!" He said,
"M!" The crowd made an M with their body.
"Give me an A!"
"A!"
"Give me an L!"
"L!" My eyes widened,
"What does that spell?" Ben asked,
"Mal!" The crowd cheered. Melody and Sophia shared a concerned look, this could ruin their plan entirely.
"Come on I can't hear you!" Ben shouted.
"Mal!" The crowd shouted.
"I love you Mal. Did I mention that?" Sophia watched as Audrey ran off the field. "Give me a beat!" Ben commanded the band and Doug started to count down in Spanish,
"Uno, dos, tres, quatro!" Doug cheared,

Ben had crowd-surfed over to Mal who was in the stands next to Evie. After Ben had finished his song, he tried to give Mal a kiss but she gave an awkward chuckle and avoided the kiss. Ben gave me a side hug, "I love you Mal. Did I mention that?" He asked. Audrey then came up behind Ben and took the microphone from him.
"Chad's my boyfriend now!" She exclaimed. Chad cheered, "And I'm going to the Coronation with him, so I don't need your pity date." Audrey turned Chad's head toward her and kissed him on the lips. Ben took the microphone back out of Audrey's hand,
"Mal! Will you go the Coronation with me?" He asked into the microphone. Mal pulled the microphone towards her.
"Yes!" She said,
"She said yes!" Audrey and Chad walked angrily out of the bleachers. Sophia and Melody glanced at each other, despite the setbacks, their plan was going ahead.
